There was poor service , the hotel is under renovation and I didn’t have a room key. I either had to stay in my room or go to the front desk everytime I wanted to get back in my room. The WiFi did not work. I continuously was woken up because there was no do not disturb signs. Also when I went to check out , I had to wait 15 min because no one was at the front desk.

Reserved an executive room--was told at check in it was under renovations. I wish the hotel would of contacted me ahead of time. Went up to the room and realized we were not on the executive level--called the front desk. They said they would call me back and never did. Went down for free chocolate chip cookies and there was none left. Room was on it's last leg. Ceiling peeling in bathroom, bathroom mirror wood visibly uncleaned. Ice machine was out of order during our stay. Expedia tried to call hotel in regards to our executive level stay several times and the front desk did not answer. There are other hotels in there area we will stay at next time.

The staff at the front desk was my very first indicator that this would be a horrible experience. She was very rude and lacked accommodation. When we entered the room the door was unlocked. We had issues locking and unlocking the door throughout the night. Upon entry we noticed right away that the room had not been cleaned thoroughly. The carpet was dirty, there were no trash bags in the cans, the toilet and floor in the bathroom had hair all over it. The soap dispenser in the shower was falling off of the wall. The refrigerator DOES NOT work. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had in a hotel.

Hotel is under construction. Not until at check-in did they let me know that the water was going to be shut off the evening I was staying there, with hopes that it would be back on by 6AM. They offered a full cancellation but finding a new location and being the evening I needed a room it was cost and timing prohibitive. Would recommend checking with hotel before booking for next couple of months as they are doing full overhaul of facility.

The staff in the lobby were excellent, beautiful lobby great food in the restaurant and the staff really pays attention to its guest. My only issue with this Doubletree is whoever owns. It may be independent from the Hilton brand because they obviously don’t care about their employees. the lobby is like a refrigerator. You can’t even enjoy the beautiful lobby because it’s so cold and I was there two weeks and I think maybe only one day it might’ve been worn. The front desk have to actually have coats on and a space heater in the front the restaurant you cannot eat in there unless you’re wrapped up this is nothing to do with the excellent customer service of the whole hotel stamp it has to do with hotel ownership and taking it into consideration, your employees are still providing excellent customer service and a horrible working conditions.

Terrible experience here. Broken cabinet that housed the refrigerator so refrigerator door would not open. After 2.5 hours maintenance finally came. Asked for a microwave and needed to follow up with front desk 4 times. Housekeeping delivered it to the wrong room. Woke up this morning to no water as a pipe burst. Water came back on 30 min before check out

The hotel room was clean and furnished with everything that I needed. Very comfortable bed. They are under renovations at the moment, but it is still a very decent place to stay. My biggest comlaint was the staff at the front desk. Not very friendly, and one staff person actually used profanity to another employee across the room. For this reason I gave them a lower rating than I probably would have.

We had two rooms. The hotel was undergoing renovation. One of the rooms was okay the other was not as there must have been a leak somewhere and some plaster fell down. The frot desk was made aware of it and while we were out all day the matter was not completely resolved. It only became resolved when a new room was insisted on. The service left a bit to be desired as well as each day we requested maid service and the room was only serviced once.

The entire building was under construction and the room was very poor quality. The lobby and other places had wall construction which was incomplete. The bedroom was outdated, had ceiling damage, dust in the curtains and lamps. Under the sink where the towels and washcloths were, the sink drain looked disgusting. The tile in the shower was chipped and the toilet seat needed to be updated. We got there at 3:20 and they didn’t have our rooms ready until 4:50. We were there for an event that started at 5pm. As a result, we were over an hour and 30 minutes late. The staff were very friendly but extremely overwhelmed as they had 4 events that evening and a lot upset people who couldn’t check in.

My wife and I had booked a room nearly a month in advance to stay the night after attending a wedding. When we arrived to check in at 3 PM, we were told that they didn't have any rooms ready yet and that we would be able to check in later in the night when the wedding was over. When we returned to the hotel that night, we were told that all of the rooms had been filled and we wouldn't be able to stay. The staff was extremely rude throughout the ordeal and completely dismissive of the massive inconvenience that this had called. We were told that this \"just happens sometimes\", and the staff acted as if it was absurd for us to be frustrated by the situation. By the time it was determined that we would absolutely not be able to stay, it was almost Midnight. Rather than be stranded in Wilmington, my wife and I made the two hour drive home.

While we were dealing with this situation, there was a line of guests behind us who were also having problems getting into there rooms. I am usually a very understanding person and always try to acknowledge that it's not the fault of the employee, but to have this major of an inconvenience be met with absolutely no sympathy by the woman behind the desk who claimed to be in charge of the hotel was a first for me.

The place isn’t ready to have guests. Hilton is actually still building this hotel. I had no idea of this before I made arrangements. Parking was $11 extra a day, parking in a city parking lot next door. Staff was ok. But we asked for the room to be cleaned and it wasn’t. Hilton charges way too much for an incomplete hotel that cannot even provide the necessary cleaning service and still charges for parking. At this point I would think twice before staying at another Hilton hotel.

First day, bathroom sink was clogged and the hotel phone had a non-stop blinking red light -- I had to unplug the phone to stop it. Second day, I informed the front desk of the issues in the morning. When I returned at the end of the day, the issues had not been addressed and there had been no maid service. Third day, I again complained to the front desk and they said they would alert maintenance (I don't know whether or not they did so the first time). When I asked about maid service they informed me for the first time that maid service was available only upon request. So I made the request. Fortunately, I left the next day.

The air conditioner/heater did not control the temp. no matter what I set it at.
The lighting in the room and bathroom were so bad, I thought I was losing my vision.
One of the washcloths looked like it had makeup left on it.
The sink in the bathroom filled with water because the stopper was restricting the water flow to the drain.

Lousy, old property, paper thin walls, and our safe wasn’t working. I made 4 calls in 2 days to get our safe opened. I finally had to go to the front desk and demand to talk to a manager, and then they fixed the safe in 10 minutes.
Area around the hotel is not pretty, run down, not very safe.

The hotel was not clean. The bathroom offered no actual ventilation control and the fire alarm actually went off. There was heavy rust around the toilet and the wash clothes and bedding sheets were stained.
The internet was terrible as well and the \"smart\" tv kept losing channel signal, so you couldn't watch anything without frequent disconnections. We asked for a do not disturb sign and were told multiple times that none were available, only to have one appear on our last nights stay. None of the house keeping spoke English, so you couldn't really communicate about simple things. Bottom line, I will never stay here again.

Would choose a different property in Wilmington in the future.

Most hotels are offering some type of breakfast...not this Double Tree. Access to the hotel is difficult due to construction. I was stunned to see that we had to pay for parking. The lot is run by the city and Double Tree doesn't seem to have some type of agreement for its guests to park for free. The sleeping area of our suite was fine, beds were comfortable. However the bathroom floor was dirty. The door jams and light plates were filthy. The wall in the corner of the shower was soaked, dripping, and peeling. When we arrived on the floor the hallway looked like there had been a part. All sorts of trash. It was still there when we left the next day.

Where do I begin.. Reception couldn’t locate our name/ reservation and instead of asking for confirmation number to help us out. Automatically began telling us we have no room for us and that they don’t have any rooms available and that we needed to call Expedia. After my wife offered them the confirmation #, they located our reservation. Our room was dirty, with very bad odor and the bed was broken with a huge dent on the left side, very difficult to sleep. We stayed two night, both nights from 1am to 3am, other customers were yelling, cursing and some even threatening violence with the others. No respect for other paying customers who were just trying to rest. Breakfast NOT included..Lastly it was unfortunate to see a homeless person inside the parking lot garage laying near the ticket pay booth.
Overall terrible stay.. was not expecting a five star for the price but at least an odorless room with a bit of silence at 3am for us to sleep.
