Not my favorite. Was safe but did not feel safe.

My room was very old and in bad shape. The floor was caving in towards the middle, the lock on the door must have been from WWII, and the very steep stairs to get to the room were in terrible shape. The bathroom was clean, but had only one 5-inch long shelve to hold any toiletries. The shower was barely wide enough for me to fit in, and I hit the sides while soaping up. No shampoo or conditioner were provided and the little stick of soap they did provide looked like a spearmint gum stick.

The bed was comfortable but the covers were ancient. There was a rug in the room but it looked like it’s never been steam cleaned ever.

At least the water pressure was good and the hot water did not run out.

We want to file for a refund. What we booked was not at the property advertised. It was at a place streets away and had to wheel our suitcases in the rain down cobblestone streets only to see a whole different place. False advertising and definitely a haunted place. We had to last minute find a hotel and pay double. Very unhappy and will not use Expedia again if we do not get a refund.

You get what you pay for. The check in is around the block at a different location, as is the roof top that is advertised. The location is down an alleyway. The room was basic with a tv that had a remote that didnt work.

Also, the skeleton key used to open our room, also worked for other rooms. We were brought to the wrong room initially, and the key opened the door. Upon noticiing that it was occupied, we were brought to the correct room...using the same key.

The bathroom was a bit moldy in the shower and could use some bleach. Otherwise the bed area was fine.

Great little hotel room for a 1 night stay. The walk between the check-in desk and the rooms was about 5 minutes with suitcases on the cobblestones, and about 3 minutes without. The bed was comfortable and the decor was charming, and most importantly, it was quiet all night. There was no iron in the room or to borrow, which would have been nice for all the linen shirts you tried to keep wrinkle-free in the suitcase but inevitably failed. WiFi was also quite unreliable—not a problem for us but could be an issue for some.

I booked a room. They said I should go to a different building to check in and then walk back to another building so where you book your room it might be not in the same building. You are checking in and I think that’s ridiculous. I had to pay for upgrade to stay in the same building because I didn’t want to walk back all way to the other building.

This place is a SCAM. I wish I could attach photos to this review but I cannot.

The photos for this property online and on Expedia are misleading and a lie. One picture is of a different building in the neighbourhood that has nothing to do with the property!!

This ‘bed and breakfast’ is run by a hotel 500m away. Which is down two alleys and across a very busy road. The hotel is where the rooftop patio is and where the check in desk. Because you are 500m away in basically a crappy apartment room, there is no way to easily co tact the front desk or go to breakfast. You have to go up and down slippery work down cement stairs after going down a dirty alley.

Essentially the way they advertise this property is a lie.

Things wrong with the rooms: large broken wood floorboards, peeling walls, black shower floors, iron squeaky spring beds and mattresses that are awful.

This place should be 2 star, not 4 star.
PLEASE JUST BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE.

This is a tourist trap with the photos of the restaurant/rooftop bar. The rooftop is actually run by a restaurant not connected with the hotel so they close it all the time for events. It was closed for a wedding while we were there. It is also insanely overpriced and not what it looks to be online.

This place shouldn’t be on expedia. We feel completely lied to and scammed. We will be reaching out to Expedia to try and get them to remove some photos that aren’t even of the property and get compensation returned.

We felt a bit cheated with this property. It's listed as a 4-star hotel, but felt more like a 2 1/2 one. First, it's never said that the building is not the same as where the reception or the breakfast are. The room was very dated and incredibly noisy. We could hear all other guests coming and going as if they were inside our room, we had to buy some earplugs too get some sleep. The breakfast was ok, nothing special, but at least it was on a nice rooftop terrace with great views. The staff were polite and helpful as much as they could (we couldn't help with the noise, although they try putting up a sign for other guests too try not to slam the door). The best bit was the location, just 2 minutes away from the piazza Navona, so pretty much everything was within walking distance. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it, and we would not be coming back.

Room is clean and location is convenient, but the room has structural damage and the floor is tilted so sleeping is quite uncomfortable. On arrival the taxi driver did not feel comfortable leaving us there because is a deth-end dirty alley. There was no front desk as this was 5 blocks away and I did not know. I booked 3 nights and asked for refund to go to a different hotel but the front desk said manager was out of the country and only offeret reimbursing the city tax. We moved to a real hotel for the other 2 nights and lost my money… BE CAREFUL

Very inconvenient to checkin. The office to checkin is quiet far away especially we have to carry the luggage with us. Pubble stones are not easy to carry the luggage’s with small wheels. Huge picture on the bed head as big as a queen bed, a picture of an old lady looking at you at every angle.

We were placed in a different location from the hotel. It was an old unkept building with dirt stairs to a second floor. The old-fashioned key took 10 minutes to make it work each time. When we complained, they said \"that is the key\" and did nothing about it. The hair dryer did not work. The information on Expedia was totally deceiving. Expedia should drop this property.

Location is very good, the apartment was good size but in order to get there you need to do the check in few blocks away, that was the first bad sign, then the alley that gets to the property is not clean, to get to the apartment you have a very inclined stairs, the keys are also old and not easy to open the doors

The property was surprisingly good. We thought we would be taking a risk on a characterful hotel, but the room was great, with an incredible location. It was exactly what we needed.

The check-in is slightly out of the way, so do bear that in mind on arrival. We were warned but forgot. However this does add to the secluded vibe of the room, which turned out to be very enjoyable, especially with the air con.

Antica Delle Orso is a property operating under the umbrella of Antica Dimora Delle Cinque. Second time staying with them, I enjoyed the room they gave me, atmospheric with a quiet lane view. Towels and bedsheets could use an upgrade as they show their age. My issue is with the front desk annoying young woman on June 13 around 2pm who amazingly refused to book me a taxi and actually argued with me. Normally this is a simple thing so dealing with her was exceedingly frustrating as she refused to do her job! So many hotels in Rome to stay, and I certainly don't want this type of hassle.

What was unique about this property was that it was quite possibly the worst place we have ever stayed. Check in is at a deceptively nice hotel but then they lead you to a remote location blocks away. There is no staff on site and the entrance is at the end of a trash strewn alley. The room is at the top of some very steep and poorly lit stairs and past three locked doors that require you to carry several large and heavy keys. Our room was over a bar or restaurant where the noise ran loud and late. The bathroom had mold growing in the shower and the water temp varied wildly while it ran so you were treated to scalding temps and then ice water. The \"safe\" in the room was not not attached to anything and could easily be carried away so it wasn't very safe. The placard on the door states that the MAX room rate is between 89 and 150 Euros but we were charged over two hundred a night for this dump. The breakfast was nice but it was nearly 2/10 of a mile away in a separate building. But let me tell you about the bed. The mattress was so old and wallowed that the ends of the springs poked you through the mattress cover, and the bedspread was so dirty as to be scary. Don't let their pictures fool you. This place isn't \"classic\" or \"historical\". It's old, run down, and a tourist trap! Beware!

Liked the decor, the bed was ok. The size of the room was quite spacious. The terrace where they serve breakfast is breathtaking.
We missed the part where check in isn’t at the address of the room so it was a lot of tiring hustle after the flight. Wifi is pretty awful. All in all an ok experience.

Feels like it's close enough to the nightlife while still feeling very safe and removed from main streets. Staff were charming, polite, and helpful - front desk agent even carried my bags to the separate building :) . Free breakfast was superb, full spread of fruits, pastries, meats and cheese, and coffee of course. The view from the rooftop was a stunning start to our day. Location is amazing for access to everything.

The photo of this property tricked us in booking the room. It is in a very small secluded alley. Not much ventilation in the room. Check in process is tedious as the bell outside connects to the main building which is half a mile away. I would recommend you stay in the main building or another property of their Antica Dimora Cardinale Nardini which was far better and has a lot of eating options close by.

The room had a very authentic “Rome” feel to it. The location was pretty perfect to get to good rome attractions. Bus services were easy and it’s local to many restaurants. The only thing was that it was next to a restaurant which cooking smells would come into the room so leaving windows open slightly during the day so it can air out wasn’t much of an option. I would definitely stay again though.

The location was great, a 10 minute walk to the Castel d'Sant Angelo. Period property with interesting features. Steep steps to the rooms. Some people may not like that you had to have breakfast in another hotel which is just around the corner but to us it was the same as going out for breakfast every morning. We stayed 4 nights at this hotel. It is in a great location, with almost all the main sights within walking distance. When we arrived we forgot that we had to check in at the larger hotel a couple blocks away. They sent someone over to let us into our room and then I had to go across to check in. Just make sure you go there first because you’ll have to anyway. The room was spacious but I found the shower a bit small. It also wasn’t the most comfortable bed but we managed. Breakfast is at the other hotel and had a range of pastries and sweets with bread, spreads, yoghurt etc. It is up on the rooftop which has a niceness view but it was hot in the sun so we ate inside. Overall it was a good stay.

Absolutely stellar service at this hotel.. The staff is wonderful. Everyone from the receptionist to the handiman, to the concierge, to the breakfast room attendant. Breakfast is served on the rooftop of an sister property which was a short walk from our room. This is a Lovely little property that is tucked away yet right in the middle of everything. Very well appointed room, small but totally functional. The decor was very charming, filled with antiques. . Bathroom was clean and well supplied. Had a bit of a problem with the hot water control and when I phoned the front desk to tell them a handyman showed up quickly, Made an adjustment and viola! Hot water! Though the problem did re-occur. But not to worry the staff is excellent and attentive to any issues. It is a short walk to many of the \"must see, must do\" sites in the city center. Navano square, the Parthenon, the Basilica and the Vatican are all within minutes. The breakfast was delicious and lovely all served on a rooftop with fantastic views, I would definitely book this hotel again. Thank you for a memorable visit to Rome.

It wasn’t like the photos are showing, hotel at first was so average, our room didn’t have AC, I was told the room was for guesses , but it seemed to be room for their employees, once I complained about it , they moved me to a different side of the hotel, (which it was actually a totally different hotel with the same owner) around 5 streets always , imagine this drama on summer time! Amazing little property that gives a unique experience in the heart of the Rome. Room was beautiful, furnished with antiques, and even contained a small area of an original fresco. And if this were not enough, breakfast at the main hotel property was wonderful and has the most gorgeous view in the city. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Rome.

Great location..walk to many things. Piazza navona steps away. Main hotel is where check in is. If you are aware you arent in main hotel, they escorted us to building which was a minute walk. Expect to walk a setp of stairs. Bathroom was decent sized not alot of cabinet or counter space to put things. Room fair sized and very Roman.
Staff was great and breakfast was wonderful on top of the roof overlooking city. Would stay again.

The room was beautiful! Check in is not at the address of the hotel, but about a 3min walk from there. However, when you call the number on the door the gentleman meets you there, allows you to leave your stuff, and takes you to the check-in area where breakfast is as well. The shower in our room was incredibly small, but still able to be used. I am a huge lover of antiques, so for me this was heaven!

Bad experience with this apartment that is NOT an hotel but few rooms in a narrow and dark street . taxi driver could not find the place with no sign. Nobody answer your call.Dirty entry and you should go elsewhere for check in . I arrived late in the evening, starving for food and tired for having carried my bags back and forth to find the right door where to ring. I refused to stay in such a place and I was charged for the two nights . hotels.com provide's no assistance and hotels do what they want.

The check-in staff were very nice and super helpful upon arrival, and its perfectly located. I had plans to get up and go to the Vatican early the next morning and would be missing their breakfast hours, so they brought me a breakfast box to enjoy before I left early in the morning. As other reviews say, the rooms are about a 3-5 minute walk from the actual check-in location of the hotel and where you will find breakfast. It's an easy walk, but rolling your luggage down the cobblestone streets of Roma is a bit difficult, just to keep in mind.

Initially I was really pleased with the room. I knew what it would look like beforehand, of course. It's obviously way over the top and 18th Century extravagant, but I kind of liked it. HOWEVER, by the second night, I noticed I was waking up in the middle of the night with a very scratchy throat and watery eyes. During the day, while I was out, I had no symptoms and felt fine. With each night in the room though, my symptoms got worse. I started to notice all the dust in the room and the poor ventilation. While the room appears to be clean, there is quite a bit of dust all around. I spoke with a family physician and friend, and they suggested I was probably having an allergic to reaction to dust and dust mites. I have NEVER had any allergy problems in my life, ever. By the end of my 6 night stay, I couldn't be in the room for more than 30 min without my throat starting to close up. I had to medicate just to make it through the night.

Old and intriguing

Set in a alley in the back streets of Rome in a wonderful medieval area, this annex to the hotel is unusual to say the least. I would stay in the main hotel building which is a five minute walk away, the young lady receptionist there was a joy to deal with and very helpful, but not in the annex again, which we were told is 14th century. it was like spending the night in a museum, we found it quite oppressive. There was a noisey generator nearby that did keep us awake most of the night. The cleaning staff were a little shall we say erratic in there approach to room cleaning, clearing the fridge of bottle water that has been purchased for taking medication and shower caps etc but leaving unwashed cups in the room? Changing some towels but not others?The breakfast buffet on the roof of the main building was fine with views across the rooftops of Rome, glorious in the sunshine. A hotel of contrasts.

The check-in hotel was a bit difficult to find. It is near Piazza Navona. The actual B&B is about 5 minutes from there. It is in a good location. The bus stop is about 5 minutes and the nearest metro is 15 minutes (depending on your speed). The B&B has a very 1800 style decor. The bathroom was decent size and the bedroom was small (typical though). It was comfortable and very quiet, which was a bonus. Our room also had a safe and small refrigerator. The breakfast was served at the check-in hotel. It had a big selection and was good. The coffee was served from a machine and was okay. If we ever went back to Roma, we would definitely stay there again.

Great little place in Rome

Great little place to stay, its a good way to get the real feel of Rome, its like having your own little place in the city center. So if you want something a little different from the standard hotel this is a good choice. Right in the center of things and very clean and tidy. Plenty of room in our triple room which we booked for just two people as we know city rooms can be small sometimes. Staff at the main Hotel were very helpful when we need them and the check in and out was very easy at the HOTEL, only a couple of minuets walk to the room and the porter carried our case. On check out my wife discovered she had left her scarf in the room and the porter jumped onto his bike and flew across to the room to get it for her which I thought was very helpful.

Good central location. Quiet and private room with Renaissance-Era charm. If I were staying for more than 2 nights, I might consider something with more amenities or a view. For what I wanted, (which was to see Rome, and not a hotel room) this was truly everything I needed, with no unnecessary frills.

Strange setup of room in a dirty dead-end street

Not a hotel. A room in a building. i went the night before check-in to check it out, since i read on Tripadvisor it was difficult to find and breakfast was in another building (inconsistant info on different booking sites.) i can't imagine they expect foreign travellers to drag suitcase through cobble stone street to no reception and a sign that writes to call a number for check in. İf i didn't help by reading Tripadvisor, i wouldn't have known, on the spot, to think to have to go to hotel breakfast place building for check-in.

Since building was so weird (and we saw rats on streets- part of the antique experience, i suppose) and they read off that they were not responsible for things in in-room-safe (which looked like one can break room door easily with ancient lock, and just take the entire safebox away,) it took me 45minutes to check in and leave my valuables in reception hotel safe, which still didn't give me a peace-of-mind. İ guess the whole setup just felt like it could easily be a scam (i've travelled all over the world and this just didn't feel legitimate.)

Room building door took a long time to open by hotel responsible person, after check in and a 5minute walk from reception building.

Room safe didn't work and we had to wait for another 30minutes.

Room itself was spacious with tall ceiling. We were 2 ppl and booked triple (Clarinda) because of booking photo i saw (reviews for double rooms were disgusting.)

Great a/c.

Within walking distance to many of rome's attracti

We stayed 3 nights in Rome. Friendly staff. No view from the room, but clean and spacious. Great location to walk anywhere in the center. Breakfast is located in another related hotel about a 5 minute walk, but it is on a roof top terrace with wonderful views. Would recommend this hotel.

Characterful, affordable room in central location.

Very characterful (faded grandeur) quality rooms, good bathroom facilities (step up to bathroom), clean, reception staff good even at midnight. Very quiet apart from some restaurant kitchen noises over the vicolo (alley) midday to midnight-ish, not a problem for us.
Downsides are no views and not so much natural light (or full length mirror), the beds were a bit hard for me (we had the triple room and tried both sofa-bed and bed) but ok for partner. Directions to find the place should have been better, and finally the breakfast is quite good but all cold buffet, eaten on main hotel rooftop terrace while admiring rooftop views but fending off marauding seagulls! Peeked into an empty double room and there's barely a foot either side of the bed... the triple is pretty spacious.
Generally very good and enjoyable as long as you're not expecting an anonymous, cosmopolitan chain hotel!

Very nice. Spacious room, high ceiling, totally quiet. Good location, close to evetything.

Check on and breakfast are at the main hotel two blocks away. Check this before arrival. Breakfast is served on top floor, terrace outside, wonderfull views.

Les murs de la chambre sont en papier… au pied d’un restaurant (plutôt bon si besoin), la cour côté de nos fenêtres. Les odeurs de nourritures sont donc présentes. Le personnel prend sa pause dans cette cour donc bruyant le soir. Mais encore, ces choses là peuvent être comprises. À côté, vous entendrez tout ce que font les voisins. Nous avons eu des jeunes très bruyants meme de nuit. Le matelas est à ressort et pas confortable. L’hôtel a besoin d’un coup de nettoyage.

L’emplacement est parfait. Vous serez à côté de tout. Le petit déjeuner est vraiment top et la vue en roof top est splendide.

Le personnel du petit-déjeuner est génial. L’accueil moins bien, et personne ne répond à nos remarques par rapport aux nuits bruyantes….

Vraiment dommage car le potentiel est vraiment présent.

Det er et dejligt hotel med fantastisk tagterrasse til morgenmadsbuffet.
Der er også aftensmadsrestaurant, som er rigtigt god.
Udsigten er formidabel.
Vores værelse var dog i en bygning 300meter væk uden udsigt.

En esas habitaciones no nos pudimos quedar, pues es imposible dormir en instalaciones tan malas, principiando por el acceso, escaleras, habitación, etc. Para desayunar
hay que ir a otro hotel caminiando 400 metros. Me vi obligado a ir a otro hotel, pagando tres veces más caro. Le pido a Expedia que tramite que me reintegren el dinero que les pagué por adelantado, ya que lo hice confiando en que era de los hoteles que recomiendan ustedes. Tambien le sugiero a Expedia que visite ese hotel para que constaten lo malo y deprimente que es y no lo tengan en sus listas.
Repito que se me reintegre el pago que hice, pues no utilicé absolutamentee nada de ese hote, pues fue un engaño, ya que no coincide la realidad con las fotos.

Perfekt beliggenhed midt i Rom. Skønt værelse i gennemført gammel stil, en oplevelse i sig selv. Tjek ind var på en anden beliggenhed, ejeren fulgte os selv til værelset og fortalte i mellemtiden om byen og seværdigheder. Tagterrassen hvor morgenmaden blev serveret var fantastisk med en enestående udsigt. Sengene var meget hårde.

Charmigt boende nära Navona.

Fantastisk inredning , charmigt läge ner i en gränd. God frukost på en takterass där man såg Pantheon , det fanns dock inte mycket glutenfritt. Prisvärt. Hjälpsam personal. Lite jobbig trappa till rummet.
