I had to use self check-in. The directions were easy to follow! I walked to Piazza Navona for dinner It was a magical place and so close and easy to find(Apple Maps, walking). The room was immaculate, well stocked and with a good bed. In the morning I needed help making bus reservations. The staff helped with those and with a taxi and retrieving forgotten meds too!

Matilda was absolutely amazing even before we arrived, she answered all my questions through the Expedia messaging, coordinated my transfer for a family of 4 from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the cruise port. Gave us excellent dining recommendations from eating to gelato and coffee. The room was clean and accommodating, it was centric and quiet wich is A plus. Excellent to go around walking. We walked to Vatican, Colosseum, short walk to Trevi fountain, piazza Navona and Pantheon. Dining 100% recommended Renato and Luisa, get a reservation online in the website and Mimi e Coco. We spend 4 days and went twice to both locations. We hope to be back soon! Absolutely loved it! Thank you 😊

Staff were extremely helpful and provided luggage storage on our departure date. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was very powerful. The room was very clean and quiet. There was a full size hairdryer in each bathroom .

Trip to Rome - Great Room, Location & Service

First trip to Rome. Lucked upon a great room at a small boutique location close to all the attractions in Rome. Even better, Dave who took care of the rooms provided excellent service. Breakfast each morning, tips on where to eat, tips on transportation and directions. We were in great hands with Dave! Made our visit very enjoyable.

We weren't able to stay at the original reserved hotel, they told us we were getting upgraded to another hotel near by. But, the other hotel was not walking distance to the batican which is what we originally wanted. The check-in process was not too easy. The room was a little smaller than what we hope. There was no parking. Overall the room was okay for just sleep and thats is it. We were disappointed on the last minute change they did for us. Also, no breakfast was included.

Comfortable clean room in very handy location. <30minute walk to just about every sight in Rome. Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast in their small dining room. Endless choice of restaurants within a 5 minute walk of apartment. Highly recommend Jazz cafe/restaurant, right next door to the apartment (Leonardo will look after you).

Great internet connection, perfect location

The room we were given was next to reception. It was small and the bathroom was like a shoebox. However, those were the only major negative things about the hotel.

The location was perfect- we walked 15 minutes to the Vatican and was able to take a nap for an hour and shower and mostly escape from the scorching heat after before heading back to queue up to see St Peter's Basilica. It has a bus stop at its doorstep. It's minutes away from Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, etc.

The internet connection was fantastic.

The breakfast, although basic, was nice and filling. It was available from 7am, which was a bit late for us as we usually left at 7 to beat the crowds and enjoy the bearable morning sun.

The receptionist was friendly and always asked if everything was fine.

The room was serviced every day. I felt that was a bit excessive as washing the sheets and towels every day wasn't really necessary and harmful to the environment. For a bathroom too small, there were also too many towels.

Overall, we had a great stay and if ever we find ourselves in Rome again, we'll definitely pick this hotel.

Great Boutique Hotel with Awesome Location

Just half a block from Plaza Navona and one bridge away from Vatican City, this nine room hotel perfectly located and has a very friendly staff. This was our second time at this hotel, and while I would not call it spacious, if you want a clean room with EASY access to buses, this is where I come to.

Perfect location

We primarily chose this place due to it's location and it definitely was worth it. The rooms themselves are in an authentic Italian building that is quaint and charming. We did not expect decent sized rooms (coming from US norms), but the rooms we got were astonishingly large and comfy for our expectations.

We are real glad we chose this place and we will definitely use it when we travel to Rome again and will refer friends.

Good location, great value, room for improvement

Three night stay. Building is a classic construction, which provides a fairly unique first impression. Staff is really nice, a bit nosy at times but very caring and accomodating. The bathroom is uncomfortably small. Breakfast offers a wide array of stuff. They let us do late check out and arranged a cab ride back to the airport. All in all, I would totally return to this hotel.

I was very disappointed when I received a message the day before stating they switched me to their sister hotel, but not leaving the name of their sister hotel, leaving me to figure it out. I was not asked if I wanted to move hotels, but rather told. My room looked NOTHING like any of the pictures on this site. It almost looked like a jail cell painted over (bigger and nicer, but that's what the walls looked like. No pictures, nothing. The bathroom was remodeled, but everything else was dull. I also looked up their sister hotel to find out it was over $30 cheaper to stay in that night then what I booked for. When I brought this up, they said it was all based on availability. Their WiFi worked but anytime you went to use it again, you have to log on, which was an annoyance but it worked. This hotel was father from where I was staying the night before than the original hotel and from where I needed to go the next day. I read this happened to someone else too, so this is not uncommon, but in my opinion not acceptable.

excellent location. Rooms were large - there were 3 of us and plenty of room. The huge downside was the shower. It's tiny and I'm barely 5 ft 1 inches tall. It was very uncomfortable.

There were two staff members who work there and trade shifts. Anna Maria was wonderful -very kind and helpful. However the man, I think his name is Sidik, was not friendly. He made us feel uncomfortable when we asked for anything \"extra\" like blankets, towels, etc. He argued with us quite a bit and even shook his head at me when I requested a blanket. He insisted that the City Tax be paid in cash which I found to be a bit odd considering the Internet says it's fine to pay the City Tax in cash or credit card. I held my ground, refusing to pay cash, and paid it via credit card. He made my daughters and I uncomfortable, and I would not stay there again if he is working there.

The hotel was in a great location near Piazza Navona and you could easily walk to most of Romes big sights. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean with nice decor, however it was very small (we barely had room for two suitcases) and the room was located in the reception area so lacked privacy and was sometimes noisy.

This hotel was FAR BELOW our expectations!! The hotel that we booked apparently had an issue with it so when we showed up, we were told that we were rebooked at their sister hotel and were given upgraded rooms. The so called 'upgraded' rooms were a very simple small room, it was clean, but not up to par with what we had booked. We were not given any discount for our inconvenience. Further more when we went to eat breakfast on the first day, it looked sub par at best, most things they were out of and there was absolutely no seating at all so we decided to eat elsewhere even though we had paid in our room rate for breakfast. Do NOT book with either this hotel or Hotel Navona, BAD experience.

Nice boutique hotel in great location.

We stayed at this hotel twice during our five weeks in Italy and both times truly enjoyed it. I understand the rooms are of different size, and it was worth upgrading to a slightly larger room on one of our stays. The rooms are nicely decorated, and kept spotless daily. Perhaps what's best is this hotel's location, just a few steps from Piazza Navona. We walked everywhere in Rome and could always take a quick break and get back to our room for a rest if needed. The street has easy access - ask for a room with a window to the back street and you will have no noise at all, even if you open the windows. The employees were wonderful and always eager to help. Siddik was fabulous with his nice attitude, professional demeanor and exquisite cappuccinos. Breakfasts were fine and plenty. Perhaps the breakfast room (and furniture) was small, but many things are in Europe, so we adapt. Do not be put off by your first impression (as this hotel takes half a floor of an old palazzo, so there are other tenants in the building). Thank you Residenza Zanardelli for a wonderful stay!

Don't choose the standard small room

The room is tiny with a tiny bathroom and a sink that is designed for a hobbit. Not suitable for 2 people.
The breakfast is very limited and a bit cheap.
The hotel is on a busy street and the noise from the roads will keep you up at night.

Comfortable stay in Rome

The room was comfortable and clean. However, there was a terrible smell in the first room we were supposed to stay in and in the entry way to the building as well. Fortunately we were given another room. The smell was gone from the entry way in the evening but I would have been unable to stay in the first room as smell was so objectionable. There were only 5 or 6 rooms in the entire place. The staff were helpful and friendly.

This lovely small hotel is well located and in walking distance of all tourist attractions, restaurants and shopping area's. It has only 7 rooms and is situated on the first floor of a classic old traditional Italian building. Although the breakfast was continental style it was adequate and there was sufficient choice. The breakfast room was snug but again adequate. The staff can not do enough to help, especially Siddik who dispite his long shifts was always happy, joking and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble for him. The rooms were spacious and very clean.
It was our wedding anniversary and we were welcomed with a bottle of champagne , a very nice touch.
If you like the big characterless chain hotels, this is not for you!

We were only in Rome for 3 nites before our Meditarranean Cruise and wanted to find a hotel that was centrally located and could accommodate 4 in a room (which is a rarity in Rome!). Residenza Zanardelli was recommended by friends and it was just perfect. The small, simple hotel with the attentive staff was great and we could walk right out our door to many of Rome's sites. The continental breakfast was enough to start your day and the cappuccinos were delicious.

Staff were really helpful and funny, they really helped us. Location is prefect, you're close to everything - right in the middle of the pantheon and the Vatican really.
Simple room, but very clean, and comfortable.
Not a grand reception when you walk in (it's on the first floor) but don't let that put you off!

Good hotel in a central location

good hotel a 5 minute walk from piazza navona and 20 minute stroll to the Vatican. Well placed for most tourist areas. UK super king bed with memory foam mattress topper meant an excellent sleep for us. Despite being on a main road it was quiet at night and we were not disturbed, even an afternoon nap was peaceful with minimal noise. Good restaurants and bars nearby, taxi rank at the end of the street and a bus stop right outside.

Perfect location for a short stay

It's always difficult to know what you're going to get when booking over the internet, but we needn't have worried. Residenza Zanardelli is perfectly positioned for all that Rome has to offer. Just a couple of hundred yards from Piazza Navona, it has everything close at hand. The 'guest house' itself is clean and comfortable. We were welcomed by Siddiq who went out of his way to ensure our stay there was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for him and on our day of departure he even got up early to make sure we didn't miss out on breakfast. The only slight downside to this hotel is that with it being so very central, it could be a little noisy at night. Ultimately though, it was a small price to pay for a fantastic location. We will definitely return to Rome and Residenza Zanardelli will be our first choice. Highly recommended!! Thank you Siddiq!!

Fantastic location within walking distance of all of Rome's visitor attractions. It was like staying with friends who were very welcoming and friendly. The room was very clean and although compact had everything that you need. I will definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone looking for a great location with only a few minutes walk to Piazza Navona and some of Rome's fantastic restaurants.

Sisters Recommend the Rezidenza

My sister and I had a great stay at Zanardelli. After finding and using the intercom for the hotel (on the street) we were greeted in person and relieved to see the quaint but serviceable elevator available to take us and our luggage up to the hotel floor. Our smallish room was tastefully decorated and clean, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful (and similar to others) including choice of cereals, juices, coffee, tea, cheese, fruit, salami and pastries. Best of all our host Siddik, was helpful, friendly, made a fine cappuccino and had a great sense of humor. He was always available for a restaurant suggestion, a call for a taxi, directions or a laugh. We would not hesitate to recommend Rezidenza Zanardelli!

A Perfect Stay

We spent 7 nights at the Residenza Zanardelli and we had an absolutely fantastic time in this small hotel which is centrally situated making it ideal for visiting the Pantheon,Colosseum and The Vatican.
The room waswas large, well appointed and meticulously kept clean by the staff who were also very helpful throughout our stay especially Siddiq who made our stay perfect.

A little gem in Rome

We stayed in the hotel last week for 5 nights.

We asked in advance to get the room ready in the early morning. When we arrived in 10am the room was already ready for us to rest from the long flight.
The staff was awesome. I would like to point out the fact that they always asked for our well being and gave us special treats ;)

The room was quite large and comfy, the bed was comfortable and the sheets were replaced daily. We had a room with a view to the street but thanks to the 4 layers of noise isolation we were able to sleep even during the afternoon.
The room had a flat screen TV, a tea and coffee set, air conditioning and cookies :)
The bathroom included new towels every day, new soap every day, hygiene products and slippers.
There's also a free WIFI and the TV had channels that broadcasted in English.

Breakfast was continental and included mainly pastries, jams, yellow cheese, ham, fruit yogurts, granola, and cereals. There was also orange and red grapefruit juice, coffee and a large selection of tea.

The location is excellent! about 2 minutes from the Piazza Navona. Most of the main landmarks are in around 15 minutes of walk from the hotel. There's also a bus stop with lines to the Termini and the Colosseum that is just below the hotels' entrance.

We had to leave early in the morning and the staff opened the dining room in 7:10 especially for us.

Overall the experience is great, the staff was caring and awesome and the location is one of the best in Rome.

For the price we were extremely happy with our choice. Stayed in the piazza novanna area before but much happier this time. Travelled with our daughter, son in law and 2 teenage grandsons so had 2 rooms with 3 in each room and worked out well. Very clean rooms and the one man staff was unbelievably cordial, and always friendly, and there to help you. He enjoyed his job which was obvious. We travel a Lot and for the price highly recommend this accommodation.

After the initial apprehension on entering the building, the uncomfortable feeling was quickly replaced when check in was completed and the rooms entered. Very welcoming receptionist and extremely modern spacious rooms. The breakfast area was a little small but overall the hotel was excellent.

This hotel is very nice. It is a small, family-run hotel that only has about seven rooms. The hotel is in very good condition and wasn't too difficult to find (it is actually inside an apartment building). It is very close to Piazza Navona (only about three minutes walking), and not far from the Vatican (about 25 minutes walking). I was very pleased with this hotel except for the noise at night. It was a bit difficult to sleep with the noise from the street, but the noise did lessen throughout the night and all was quiet by about three AM. Overall, great service and nice rooms.

We stayed at the Residenza Zanardelli for 4 days in March 2014.

The hotel has a great location, very close to Piazza Navona, Vatican and St Angelo castle.

The room was very nice and comfortable and the personnel pleasant and helpful.

A good breakfast was served every morning which allowed us to have a light lunch and go for dinner in one of the nearby restaurants.

Lovely hotel close to many attractions

All in all the hotel is excellent. It offers a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere with guests free to come and go at any time of the day or night (a real plus in Rome where there are so many things to see at night). It is easy to walk to almost any of the cities major attractions within an hour at most and the staff are also happy to help point out the best routes on the complimentary maps or to arrange taxi's or advise on the best bus routes.
The rooms are clean, tidy, comfortable and well equipped with extras like room safes and minibars. We actually booked the wrong kind of room (a double) but the staff were happy to help us switch over into a twin room that was also available. Although small the hotel doesn't suffer from any noise problems and the building itself is very nice (an old city apartment block with high ceilings and huge communal hallways).
The breakfasts are simple but perfectly good and the staff make sure that nothing runs out for long, more than once they brought out new food when we were being a bit too greedy!

I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel in central Rome within striking distance of all the major attractions. Also check out the nearby Piazza Navona for some excellent restaurants.

Central enough to walk the majority of what we wanted to see - Colosseum, Vatican, Spanish steps, Trevi fountain etc very nice breakfast served in rooms and safe feeling situation with 2 coded doors before you are inside the residence.

Only 2 letdown - I don't know what is meant to be \"soundproof\", but I could hear every room, every footstep outside, and the people who lived upstairs. And the elevator - while a charming little original feature of the building - did NOT fit our stroller or luggage.
