It is a convenient hotel if you have an early flight on a holiday and you don’t want to risk it. Otherwise the city is 15 min away from the airport.
Sonia at the reception was very helpful and nice. The van available every 15 min is very convenient as well.

Personnel sympathique mais attente check-in longue. Mauvaise gestion du petit-déjeuner, le personnel du check-in doit assurer le nettoyage du buffet et le remplissage du buffet mais lorsqu'il y a du monde c'est la catastrophe... table salle, plats vides... c'est un problème d'organisation interne mais pas de volonté de la part du staff.

Hot! Heat was on in room
The air conditioning was stated to be on but alas it was heat. Went to sightsee and came back to temperatures of 88 degrees.

We do not mind using a fan and window for cooling the room but the instructions were in correct and it was a poor sleep due to temperature.

We had a large flying bug in our room. The front desk was not available to come and take care of this. We called many times without assistance.

This is a perfectly serviceable airport hotel, one of two major ones very near the Bilbao airport. Fairly basic compared to a \"fancy\" hotel in the city, and (like 99% of European hotels) lacking washcloths. But, comfy beds, quiet rooms, an excellent breakfast spread, a decent bar, and really a short ride to the city. What's not to love?

The airport shuttle starts at 5 a.m. and has limited capacity. But, the staff is well aware of the early morning flight schedule to get everyone there in plenty of time. It's like an 8-minute roundtrip from hotel to terminal. 😎

Husband and I only stayed a night.Breakfast was excellent. A good variety.We decided to take the bus. Bus stop is nearby.Not punctual. As we waited the shuttle service was around the clock. Staff was wery friendly. I think the shower needed a little attention, moldy.

The common area is very nice and updated. The rooms are not there were mode due between the grout line. The tub was old and the towers were tired. The shuttle service was marginal leaving was good but coming from the airport the driver didn’t bother to stop. Literally just did a drive-by.

Rooms are very old and weathered. No water bottle provided in the room. Spanish only television. Expedia booking of 2 rooms was not recognized and check in was over 30 minutes as a result. It was 31C and the shuttle bus driver did not turn on air conditioning. Holiday Inn and Expedia should be embarrassed about this property.

Everything was fine except we waited for the shuttle from the airport which never did show up and so we had to get in a taxi. We even called to find out where it was and they said it wasn’t at the hotel so it must be at the airport. The hotel needs to have better communication with the shuttle. We waited for an hour and the hotel is only 5min away. They did compensate us with a drink at the bar.

Very nice facility with excellent service at front desk. The airport shuttle is very convenient and had no trouble making a 7AM departure. The breakfast is super and starts at 5Am. This is an ideal hotel to use if you have an early flight the next morning or are arriving late to Bilbao Airport. It is not close to central Bilbao.

The shower we had just had curtains around it so small and when you shower the whole bathroom floor gets flooded, we had to use so many towels on the floor to catch the water!

We were at shuttle area between 22:45 and 22:50 and waited until 23.15. Contacted hotel and were told it left at 22:45 so we had catch a taxi for 12 euros.

Free shuttle to airport from 5am to 11pm. Good breakfast starting at 5am - even they call it an express breakfast between 5am and 6am, it’s impressively good. We stay at two hotels near the airport and Holiday Inn is better in multiple ways (service, breakfast, price, frequency of shuttle).

This is a great place to stay if you have a late flight into Bilbao. They offer a free shuttle to and from the airport and took our bags in bag check all day while we explored the city. There is also lots of parking if you have a car or rented a car. It's not in a location that is near anything though, so don't expect that and it would have been good to have a pool and a workout room. We could tell there wasn't a pool from the listing but I was just hoping for a workout room since it's a Holiday Inn. The breakfast in the morning was also good. The room we had which had two single beds (ushed together) and a couch bed was pretty crammed to fit all the people with our bags/luggage, which would have been really difficult if we had stayed here a long time. But all in all this was a fine stop for our trip.

Holiday Inn Bilbao airport

Stayed before our flight out. It’s in a suburban area right near the Bilbao airport. Shuttle was very convenient, breakfast was free and offered plentiful variety. Staff was very friendly. Maybe a $35 euro cab ride into the city if that is in your plans. Would stay again.

I was really disappointed because I thought this would be more of an American style hotel. What is more American than Holiday Inn? Also I thought the hotel was pretty new but the first room they assigned us had the AC control pulled out of the wall. The second room had problems with the shower and also mold in the shower. The food options in the restaurant are also very limited. There seems so be just one other restaurant nearby and they told me to look on Google maps to find it. Really? What happened to providing menus for places that will deliver food or are nearby? You know...that stack of menus you usually see in American hotels? With that said, the staff was nice and the hotel shuttle was great so it served our purpose well. Just know there is not anything to do around the hotel. You would have to take a cab or transit to see anything in Bilbao from this hotel.

Holiday Inn is a functional hotel that you stay at if you want to get to the airport early. The staff were polite and attentive. The rooms were nice and and clean, had been freshly painted so there was a smell. The beds are comfortable. The restaurant downstairs offered food but wouldn’t recommend it. Great for a stop over.

We had an early flight Sunday morning, which is why we booked this hotel so close to airport. Noise from other inconsiderate guests, including a huge group of children shouting aa they came up and down in the lift on 3 occasions, and a group of young men sitting in the corridor, talking loudly just outside our room at midnight, made it inpossible to sleep. The staff really need to monitor this..we had to ask the other guests to be quiet. I am sure we are not the only people trying to get some sleep before early flights. We would not recommend this hotel unless management get this behaviour under control. Staff showed little or no concern

There was a large water leak in a restaurant attached to the hotel. This resulted in fire alarms going off throughout the hotel and people evacuating their rooms. The alarms could not be turned off until the police arrived, which was approximately 40 minutes later. To add insult to injury, we awoke to no hot water, and then the water being turned off completely at 9 am for repairs which we were told would take several hours. The hotel did not offer any form of credit or compensation when we checked out. Just a “sorry for the inconvenience “. Hotel should have a policy of some form of credit for a bad situation like this. You can’t simply blame the attached restaurant when it affects your business.

Rude shuttle pick-up. Rude check-in service. Restaurant was flooded when we arrived, alarms going off and no one to greet us upon arrival. Eventually all we got was “wait!” While the only 2 staff members were running around with the police. Woman who eventually was checking us in was not understanding we had 2 reservations for the 3 of us, then not understanding which 2 of us were together. No apologies, no thank you for your patience!

Good hotel - unreliable shuttle service

Hotel is 5 minutes from the airport, had a comfy bed and courteous staff. We needed the shuttle 4 times, but were only able to use it twice because we didn't receive a message back for the first trip to the hotel, and it didn't show up when we went into town and needed it for the way home (we waited long enough that 2 shuttles should have arrived, but neither did). So if the shuttle is a big deal, the other airport hotel may be more reliable?
