There is ongoing building work which we weren’t advised of which you can hear in the rooms. The AC was turned down so not possible to cool the rooms down. As others have mentioned there are no amenities - no tea/coffee making facilities or fridge. Rooms are well worn. Breakfast is €16.

- The owner has known about the complaints for a couple weeks. He's cheap and hasn't wanted to turn it on because of the cost.

So, today I was informed it would be working by end of day. Well, they activated the air conditioning, but it was not working in my room!
I was very unhappy about the air conditioning not working and had a miserable night trying to sleep with the high temperature in my room.
Regarding noise and dirt, it was due to heavy construction outside the hotel.

This is my second stay at this hotel, and is very much worth it. The location is very convenient to explore the city, the area is nice and close to the main highways and the city center. Staff are amazing, in particular our friend Felix. They give you the best tips and advise on where to visit and eat. The rooms are modern, very comfortable and spacious. Will definitely return!

Carrying luggage from ground floor to an elevator is an issue as the elevator is on half a floor below the ground floor, so you have to carry luggage down a few steps, which is inconvenient. The property is in a really good location for the Guggenheim Museum - a short walk over the river. It’s also near a mall and other shops/bars. All staff I dealt with were helpful and friendly, and breakfast was really good. The room was basic but clean and tidy - although I found the bathroom to be extremely warm and the clean when I first arrived could have been better. This was improved upon however, so I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

The hotel is a little dated and the rooms were quite small. The heat in my room could not be adjusted and the room was sweltering. I had to keep the window open all night for relief - in early March. The front desk staff and cleaning staff were very nice and helpful. It's just the building that could use a little updating.

Hotel staff was always welcoming and communicated easily in Spanish and English. The breakfast was very good and had a large variety of items. It was the best part of staying at this affordable hotel. The neighborhood is excellent- very short walk to downtown but there are many inexpensive bars with pintxos. My only problem was that the floor of my room was not adequately clean when I arrived.

It's a functional hotel, but a bit dated. The rooms are very small and beat up. It's also a ways off the beaten path, being on the other side of the river. There are some restaurants around, but not very nice ones. Overall the location is kind of grim.

The NH is in a very quiet area with many small bars, restaurants and shops nearby. And only just a few minutes walk to the busier areas surrounding the Guggenheim and even the Gran Via and Casco Viejo. I stay in Bilbao 6 to 8 times each year and the NH is my #1 choice for a hotel.

Hotel is in a side street close to the Deusto bridge.Although only a 10 minute walk from the airport bus route we were very glad we came in by taxi .We went back on the bus .Otherwise the location was good -near the Guggenheim museum and the tram route and relatively near the metro station .Hotelwas clean and quite modern

Easy location to find from the expressway. We were assigned a handicap-accessible room so it was very spacious. There isn't much nightlife in this area, but great for families because it is quiet. The decor could use a little sprucing up. Overall, comfortable and clean.

NH hotels rarely disappoint it was very close walking distance to The Guggenheim clean and good sized comfortable room just two things below standard, the safe in our room didn’t work and late night receptionist who booked us in about 10 pm was quite grumpy maybe he’d had a bad day!!

The bed was quite comfy. The parking areas in a he garage were quite tight for bigger cars. Their elevator does a strange jolt every time you use it. Although the bedroom has A/C, it doesn’t extend to the bathroom which was sauna-like. Some staff are quite friendly and helpful; others, not so much.

Two nights with a dog to explore the museum area. Hotel is in a good location with the museum, team and shopping withing walking distance. Breakfast is good and parking although expensive was convenient. Recommend.

Without a doubt, my \"go-to\" hotel in Bilbao. I visit on business 4-6 times a year and the NH is the first hotel that I check for availability. it's no surprise that it is sometimes already full. The staff is phenomenal. if you are new in town, be sure to ask the desk clerk, Felix, for a few basic Basque words to get you started on an adventure.

Room rates were higher than usual because of the World Cup Rugby - hence, somewhat overpriced for the level of accommodations when I stayed there. The location is great, with convenient walking to most major destinations in the city.

At £300 per night which is what they charged each night for the European Rugby Championship the hotel is a total rip off. For the night after the rugby the rate was 95Euro's and at that price is a bit high for being on the wrong side of the river.

Room and hotel design are not comfortable
Lobby is not at same level of elevator, you ALWAYS have to take half floor of stairs up or down with your luggage everyday to take the elevator. Bathroom design is pretty uncomfortable, try no to kill yourself or break something when taking a shower. Also there some useless big chairs in the room with few space for your own stuff. No amenities at all like other hotels same category.

We had room 101 which is about a foot from the elevators, it was quite noisy most of the night with lots of banging not sure if it was other guests or staff so not a good sleep. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was filling but expensive for what it was.

Nice Hotel in a quite area
I am in Bilbao frequently and know the town very well. I like the NH because it is in a clean, quiet neighborhood that is quite safe and frequented mostly by locals. Yet, it is just a few minutes walk to great restaurants, museums, etc. The bus stop is right outside, making a trip to Casco Viejo or other areas minutes away. The subway is a block or so away making a afternoon trip to the beach well within reach.
