Conveniently located next to the bus station and metro, the Illunion San Mamés is an excellent hotel: modern rooms, clean, and they have the best bidet toilets on the market. I spent 11 nights there, and you can't go wrong.

All was great except the food. Room service options were very basic, the burger I got was undercooked (not rare, but oddly very raw in the middle..by oddly I mean I could see tendons and the outline of the ground beef) and thr chips were floppy and cold. Apart from that the breakfast buffet was ok, it’d be nice to have real egg now powdered. Apart from that it’s clean and the rooms are really nice, staff is also lovely.

The hotel is very close to most things in Bilbao. Next door to the bus terminal, lots of restaurants near by and the hotel is less than 3 mins walk to San Mames Stadium. The room is clean with basic necessities but there was no complimentary bottles of water which was disappointing. The TV channels on offer were moderate. Housekeeping people were fantastic.

Nice hotel in a good location

The hotel is well located to the station, metro and bus station and a 10-15 minute walk to the old town.
Rooms are spacious and clean. Helpful, friendly staff.
Good buffet breakfast.
We didn’t really like the open shower right next to the bedroom. Glad I was travelling with my wife and not my sister.

Solid fine, newer property. Very clean, environmentally focused, front desk team was a true standout. All very helpful and store luggage no problem even after checking out hold for the day.
Location is on the other side of main bus terminal so if traveling this way is convenient. Other than that not much close to hotel so requires a lot of walking or taxi rides. There is a cafe on the corner and a few places but not enough to see or explore.

빌바오 hot places와는 조금 떨어져있지만 대중교통 이용 (Metro, 트램) 하기는 매우 편리함. 호텔 내부는 간결하게 그리고 편리하게 잘 구비되어 있음. 주차에 대한 보다 자세한 사전 설명이 필요함. 터미널 빌딩안에 있는 호텔이라서 자동차로 호텔 접근하려면 처음에 당황스러움. 호텔 보유 주차장이 아니라 터미널 빌딩 자체 지하 유료주차장을 이용하는 것임.

The A/C in the rooms and halls does not work properly it was hot. The A/C in the rooms does not work if you are not in the room and once you are there it takes a long time to reach a comfortable temperature to sleep.

Modern hotel that is a bit antiseptic. Rooms are comfortable, air conditioning is good and beds are comfortable. No privacy in shower with clear glass door. Location is not great - a bit of a trek to everything but the fútbol stadium. And if you figure out how to discern whether an elevator that arrives is going up or down please let me know.

Wonderful Stay in Bilbao

Excellent in every way. Very clean, modern & comfortable rooms. All of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly & helpful. Hotel is next to the bus station & tram station & a great location for San Mames football stadium. We were in the city for the Europa League game. A lovely city with lovely people & very inexpensive.

The hotel was very centrally located, the staff, especially at check-in, very friendly efficient and helpful. There are plenty of options for eating and the tram, metro and bus/train station, all are within a 3 minute walk of the hotel. Our stay of 5 days would definitely have us returning a next time when in Bilbao. Beautifully designed as well.

The service staff is excellent; however, the registration agent was less than enthusiastic to offer, suggest anything, or even try to help me when I dialed the front desk from my room regarding the phone service.
Location was a little inconvenient for Uber pick up with luggage, but very close to other transportation.

The hotel looks brand new and very stylish. The only issue I had was how Inconvenient the coffee maker was to get to, as well as all the high shelves. These shelves would have been incredibly useful at a lower level. It just felt like the focus was on technology and not on customer service.

Hotel in general was very good, well located for transport to any part of Bilbao and the airport. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and well appointed with a fridge, safe, tv and complementary toiletries as well as a few hangers and further storage space.

Breakfast was pleasant with a hot selection of bacon, egg and sausages and cold meats and cheeses as well as juices, pastries, bread and fruit. Coffee was okay. Hot water and various tea bags were available. Lifts got very busy around breakfast time - be aware if you are wanting to leave quickly to use particular transport.

I had an issue with the air-conditioning leaking through the lights and dripping to the floor. I highlighted this and efforts were made to repair it though cleaning afterwards had to be requested twice. This only resolved the issue for a couple of hours and the leaking through the electrics began again. On this occasion I was told that maintenance were unavailable and when explained that I did not feel comfortable to stay in the room or not use the lights or aircon (38 degrees forecast later this week and was hot in the room) I was initially told that no other room was available. I was disappointed to have to raise my frustration at any suggestion that my young daughter and I should simply have to accept such an obvious fire hazard but having vocally done so found that another room suddenly became available, which we were moved to. A shame that this obvious service own goal let down the hotel overall.

This place had rather good reviews, and I decided to give it a try. Finding a place was already a quest as there are apparently two hotels with almost the same name in the area… check in took forever (you need to sign multiple electronic docs and the system was just super slow). But the worst part was when I asked the front desk to give me corkscrew for my wine that I planned to open later that day, the lady in a very rude form told me I need to stand there, open the bottle there (I was still with my luggage and haven’t even got to my room…) and immediately return the corkscrew to her. This was really bad…I think someone there needs a retraining on hospitality…

The room was ok. Clean. Nothing special.

Lovely Hotel If You Can Find It.

Our stay was great. Staff were nice. Hotel was clean. Beds were very comfortable. Centrally located. There were only a couple of issues. 1. there is no visible sign anywhere indicating where the hotel is. I drove around the block 3 times and could not see it. The only sign is directly over the front door, which is not visible unless you are standing in front. We found public parking, and had to search on foot. 2) the coffee pot in our room was broken and the lid fell off every time we tried to boil water.

Easy to get to from airport with a direct piblic bus. Hotel is new so very clean and tidy. I found the beds very uncomfortable and the room layout annoying. With a too shallow sink and towels and mirrors outside the bathroom in the room next to the bed. It is very annoying to go and have a shower and then find that the towels are outside. I doubt the CEO has stayed in this hotel.For the price I thought it was expensive considering it is on the other side of town to most of the sights and old town.There is a metro which gets you there fast but by the time you have queued up for the ticket machine etc you may as well have walked which is about 30 mins.There are a few nods to sustainability with the toiletries being in cardboard and just the one bottle of all purpose 'wash' in the shower. The room felt soulless and dare I say it a bit cell like.The oddest choice of all is an enormous lcd screen in reception playing a huge nausea inducing wave film along the entire wall of reception.Surely this is a bit of a miss ecologically.Style over substance here. You can do better.

The hotel is very nice. Brand new inside and beautiful rooms, very good design overall. The staff has very friendly and we had a great check in and out experience. Sadly the hotel is positioned right above some exhaust pipes for some kitchens and therefore it’s almost impossible to open the window of the room. The room was very clean overall however there were quite at few hairs and dust around.

OK once you get there but the parking beneath the Bilbao Intermodal Station is confusing at least how you can get to the hotel's reception area given you have no hotel room key to activate the door to get to the hotel's elevators...better explanation of that would be helpful. Reception people were not friendly, not making any effort to make us feel welcome or ever asked if everything was OK.
Mattress was hard and pillows way too soft.
Very odd choice of having the sink in the bedroom, outside the toilet/shower room. Very messy with such a small sink.
Decent location, convenient metro next to the hotel. Area not too noisy.
Overall you get what you pay for, so if you’re on a budget it might work out well.

Airport bus stop literally at the front door, very convenient. Metro stop close by. Seems to be in the business area of the city, so you need to walk a little to reach the city centre. Area is nice, room was excellent and the breakfast good!

One of our favorite hotels in Europe. Clean, chic design with lots of lighting options in the room
Even the lights in the hallway are beautifully designed and brighten as you walk by. The breakfast buffet was really good. The reception staff were nice. The location is perfect for getting around Bilbao on the bus, metro and tram.
