Arrived late at night and someone else was in my bed. Had to wait in the lobby for the few hours I was planning to be there. Rooms are hot despite A/C advertised. Beds and bunks not comfortable.

This was a lovely hostel for the price. It was filled with backpackers on the Camino so the common spaces for food and extra outlets were always full. Beds were decently comfortable but without fans or curtains. Internet was VERY spotty, I had hopes of working there but was not able to. Location is great, you are a few minutes walk from the Guggenheim and surrounded by bars, restaurants and cafe. There is a bus that takes you directly from the airport to around 5 minutes away from the hostel.

Entry to hostel by code sent to my email, check in at the machine inside, passport scanned, room card issued, all in a breeze. Bed was comfortable and clean, shower not as hot as I prefer. Kettle, microwave and fridge, but no coffee nor tea bags.

The cafe staff next to the hostel were rude, food was being carried in the kitchen, the bottom bunk bed was too low and uncomfortable, and the bench in the common area was old and needed to be repaired.

Before checking in, I had coffee and beer at the hostel cafe and was waiting to check in. I paid in advance, but they insisted that I didn't pay, so I showed them the receipt, but they didn't apologize and had a bad expression. Overall, it was a good place to stay, but the most important thing was that the bunk bed was too low, so I hit my head on the metal frame several times. My neck and back were very uncomfortable, and I needed a bench chair in the 8-person dormitory. I had to turn the bathroom door several times to open it, and I was worried that I might get locked in. There were very small bugs constantly running around the kettle in the kitchen, and the bench chairs next to the reception desk were damaged and needed to be repaired because they could scratch my clothes.

The place is lovely as far as the shared spaces--really tastefully decorated. The rooms are extremely clean. The bedding, etc., is in excellent condition. The clerks, etc., are friendly and helpful. I'm not sure why there aren't more guests--or there weren't when I was there. I will say this-- it was very cold to sit around and read or go online or do anything. I put on all my warm clothes and still couldn't keep warm.

Great, clean hostel!

This was a great, clean, modern hostel. While it was still a hostel (people snoring, entering/exiting anytime of day, other things out of their control, etc), it was always incredibly clean and well-maintained. They do have a kitchen that is open 24/7 that you can store both refrigerated and non-refrigerated food in. If I need to stay in Bilbao again, I would stay here. Beds were comfy as well and all sleeping areas are kept cold and dark all day/night.

A perfect option for staying the night. Rooms are quite small but have all the basic necessities. Staff present at night for late arrival, helpful with tips. Luggage storage available which was important for us to spend the day in the city and pick it up before leaving. Nice location with restaurants and bars in the area, and around 15 min walk to the old city.

Location location location !!!Literally just around the corner from the Guggenheim Museum this hostel is well located.However it is a hostel and hostels aren’t for everyone.Bring your earplugs and travel towel or pay the price for private room elsewhere.As hostels go this one is poshier than most with its own restaurant and bar,Very accommodating friendly staff.

Welcoming environment, workers were professional and the room was comfortable and clean. The only caveat I have is that myself and my roommates couldn't find the climate control remote so staying in August on the 4th floor got pretty toasty at night. Other than that, no complaints.

No sleep at all! People were allowed to check in anytime throughout the night so I was awaken by backpackers coming in at 12:30am, then at 1am, and at 3am! Some people were inconsiderate and turned on every lights in the room to unpack and shower! Absolutely worst sleep ever.

Clean & comfy BUT one bad incident ruined it.

Not a social hostel, don’t stay if you’re looking for a party or want to interact with people. It’s quite clean, but the bathroom could do with a floor cloth, it gets wet after people take a shower. Hair dryers are only located in the toilets on the 1st floor. I stayed in a 6 and 8-bed room (2 separate occasions within a week), beds were comfortable.

What ruined it for me was my last day - I asked to do laundry (wash and dry), and had to purchase tokens from the counter. I only found out after running the dryer for a 40-min cycle, that “it’s been having some problems”. The staff promised that he’d help me “check on it” while I went for my walking tour - I returned 3 hours later after the walking tour and lunch, and it was still wet. I tried putting it in for another cycle, and it still didn’t work. They refunded me my money and I had to walk for 15-mins in the rain with my laundry to a self-service laundromat to dry it, as I had to leave early the next morning - this whole exercise wasted 2 full hours of my day. Had they told me the dryer wasn’t working (which he clearly knew because he said it’s been “having some problems”), I wouldn’t have done my laundry that day.

Nice little hostel in a great area. This was my first experience staying in a hostel. I would definitely stay here again.
Very near the Guggenheim museum, with many dining options nearby.

Definitely not a social hostel (they don’t organise any activities to encourage interaction, even at their bar next door, which is a pity) but it was relatively clean, and the beds were quite comfortable - would be better if they had a curtain to the bed.

Also, on my last day, I did a round of laundry and the guy charged me 5€ for washing and drying a load... But failed to mention that the dryer was not working well until I asked them why it was still wet after the first round of drying (a 40min cycle). After 3 rounds of “drying”, they eventually refunded me the money and left me with a bundle of wet clothes, and the advice that the nearest autoservice laundromat is 20mins away. Luckily, Google turned up another laundromat that was a 10min walk away. Not impressed.

Great Spot

I chose this place because it is right next to the Guggenheim and it was a great decision. The hostel was remarkably clean and has a nice little kitchen and cool shared spaces. There is a lot of helpful information in front of the check-in desk and also lots of help behind the desk :) I recommend renting a bike at Tourne Bilbao and taking the Camino del Norte out to the beautiful coast. The ride is beautiful.

Internet in the room was slow and not fast as advertised. Signal was poor from the bed. Staffs were helpful and friendly through

. They need to replace their furniture in the lobby as they look so worn out.

Couldn't sleep because the footsteps of the people on the next floor can really be very very bothersome as the walls of this hostel is thin. You will wake up for sure.

Toilet in our room was clean and the temperature was warm enough so I don't get cold while bathing. Hot water worked perfectly.

Windows in the room were helpful to get some fresh air.

Nice hostel in great location

We found the common areas of the hostel to be beautifully decorated and comfortable.
The staff are extremely helpful and can advise on just about anything.

The private room was simply decorated but comfortable, for the price we were very happy to stay there!

The location is great, only a short walk to the Guggenheim.
You can also walk to the river easily, cross over and get the funicular up the hill or take the light rail to the old town in one direction and a lovely large park in the other.

There is a contemporary art gallery just across the road that we enjoyed looking into as well :)

The attached cafe has great food and good prices as well, would definitely recommend staying at the hostel and taking advantage of it.

Very nice hostel close to Bilbao's main sights

I had a very enjoyable staying at the Poshtel. It was very close to the Guggenheim, and only about a 15-20 minute walk to the Caso Antiguo (and you have to walk through the main shopping areas of Bilbao, so it's not an unpleasant walk by any means). The staff was very friendly, and check-in and check-out were both a breeze. The room itself was quite comfortable, I found the beds to be very cozy and I slept very well. There was plenty of hot water in the shower, and the bathroom was clean overall. I would definitely stay here again if I ever return to Bilbao!

Great location, better staff!

This hostel has a great location near the river and the Guggenheim Museum. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although some of my fellow guests were quite loud one night. By the far the best thing about the hostel was the receptionist Anne, who was cheerful, efficient and very willing to share her knowledge about Bilbao and the Basque language and culture. She was an excellent ambassador for the city.

Not just for college students!

Poshtel is great! So much better than I expected! One 87 year old woman was solo traveling too and said hostels keep her young!

The only reason the comfort level wasn't rated higher was I'm too tall to sit upright on a bottom bunk and multiple women in my dormitorio were snoring. The sheets were way better than expected! The breakfast (cafe con leche and 1 pintxo) was only €1.60 until noon!

Lots of non-hostel customers came in for breakfast or lunch. Great location for walking everywhere in the city.

The staff was amazing and the rooms were clean. It would be great however if guests would be informed to not spend hours getting ready and making noise early in the morning! Some people ruin it for everyone... also, laundry facilities would be great for those who come from less-clean hostels and need to wash and dry their gear quickly to avoid contamination!

Great location - easy walkable distance to various amenities such as grocery stores, shopping centre, *Starbucks*, Guggenheim, old town and you name it. Receptionists were all so nice - fluent in English. Adorable lounge. I was lucky to have quiet, respectable girls to share the bedroom with. That being said, I had no issues with sleeping at night.

A few things to be aware of prior to booking this hostel is that
1) you need to bring your own locker. You can get one from the front desk - but if you are like me - you don't want to buy something that you know you will throw away right after.
2) you will need to either bring your own towel or hire one at the front desk
3) Getting up to the top bunk imposed a bit of challenge. Partially because my inexperienced toes struggled to find enough space on the metal ladder to climb on.

Overall, I had a great experience!

El lugar es muy lindo, pero nadie te dice que debes llegar antes de las 5 para que alguien te pueda abrir, yo llegué de noche y de no ser por que alguien iba saliendo y abrió la puerta me habría quedado afuera, además, por el precio no incluye el candado de los lockers, cosa que si pasa en otros hostales, debes llevar el tuyo o te venden otro por 12 euros, la corriente eléctrica en mi cama no funcionaba además de no hay alguna cortina que te lo mínimo de privacidad

Check-in after 00:00 is tricky. No personnel at reception during the night shift. You have to self check-in using the machine, which is not very user friendly. I've spent 15 minutes dealing with all paperwork. In general - OK and clean.

Hola, buenos días,
por clarificar algunas cosas en relación a los motivios que nos hizo cambiar de lugar. Lo primero que nadie quiere cambiar de lugar habiendo pagado uno para irse y pagar otro sin motivos justificables. Igual al no haber hablado con uested idrectamente se rompe la cadena de la información. En primer lugar nunca dijimos que hiciera mal olor, sino que el olor a limpio al que hace referencia, era un olor insoportbale por la intensidad de los productos utilizados, que nos llegarona provocar dolor de cabeza e irritación en las vías respiratorias y la lengua. Su trbaajador estuvo 2 minutos, nosotros una hora. inntentamos, abrir las ventanas para poder hacer una siesta y que el olor penetrante a químico de ambientador o de otro producto se fuera, pero ni se acababa de ventilar ya que las ventanas no abrían lo suficiente y no existiía correiente de aire y el ruido no nos dejaba dormir.Intentamos dormir con las ventanas cerradas y el aire, pero el olor químico era insoportable y molesto ya físicamente, como ya hemos indicado.

La solución de cambio que se nos dió fue peor, pues solo abrí un poco una ventana,el ruido era mayor y el olor igual. Veníamos de un viaje larrgo y necesitábamos descansar pero fue imposible ante los hechos descritos, las molestias de tener que cambiar de hotel. L

El hostel tiene una ubicación maravillosa y, sobre todo, la atención del personal de primera. Estuve en una habitación con 10 camas con baños dentro. No valen la pena. Saliendo al pasillo hay un baño compartido que no se usa. Bilbao es una gran ciudad.

99 countries and 100s of hostels here. Reading reviews, I cannot understand people giving 10 or 9 points, this is at best a very average place and not at all any upper class hostel. I will give some suggestions on how to improve.

The checkin is via some machine at the entrance. At opening, it will form a queue. An employee will stand there and guide guests through a quite time consuming process typing in all data. In a normal hostel, this employee could check in all the guests in the queue in 1/3 of the time.

Wifi is the slowest I have experienced since a beach hostel in Mexico 2010 on 56kbps dial up modem. Absolutely ridiculous. Not even during the day when everyone is out touristing its faster.

If you get a lower bunk bed you will not be able to sit up in it. Its very low distance to upper bed.

Lockers: for some reason they have numbered lockers and in my room there were lockers at the back and in the middle. Beds near the door may have locker at the furthest location, which is illogical. Also, lockers are placed right next to some beds, so guests will need to fiddle with padlocks 20 cm from someones face if they sleep. In a normal hostel, the bed nearest would be attached to this locker to make it more comfortable for all guests.

There was only one coffee/tea cup in kitchen. No tea spoons. It would also have benefitted with coffee/tea included.

Few charging points in room, although there is a USB-A at bed. However, this doesnt suit everything you want to plug in.

La experiencia ha ido bien, lo único que a la hora de entrar en el recinto, dentro del horario marcado, no se me facilitó un código y llamaba al teléfono habilitado pero nadie lo cogía. Pude entrar gracias a una huésped que nos abrió la puerta y así acceder a las instalaciones a hacer el check in. El resto de la estancia ha ido bien

Hostel bem limpo e silencioso, facilita o descanso depois de um dia de turismo, wifi funciona bem. O que faltou foi uma tomada em cada cama. A cama é um pouco baixa também, entao se você ficar na cama de baixo, nao conseguirá sentar na cama, por exemplo e isso pode ser desconfortável em alguns momentos.
