Nice location next to the football stadium. Checking in wasn’t great, arrived at 4pm room wasn’t available until 5pm even though check in was supposed to be from 3pm. Got sorted in the end but checking in staff made us feel like an inconvenience. Parking is really easy lots of spaces. Rooms a little dated but very clean

Good stopover in Bilbao.

Lovely stay and great location next the stadium. We did the tour which was great value for money. Easy access to the tram with stops to all the main attractions. Good breakfast. Local neighbourhood had a good selection of reasonably priced restaurants. Room was large and comfortable for a family of four.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the location was good for the stadium, and only a 20 walk to the centre of town. Easy access to tram system. The room was quite tired, and needed thorough cleaning around bathroom tiles and edges. Door handles were grubby. Most troublesome was the ineffective air conditioning, which even at full blast (with quite loud fans) was not effective in mid summer. The room was too warm most of the duration of our stay.

As a football fan, this was the perfect place to stay. Right outside of the San James and only a 15 minute walk from the Guggenheim museum.

Too expensive for what it is, small rooms with views to either the parking lot or the huge stadium facade (which is less than 100 ft away from the hotel), pictures from the hotel showing a terrace with a river view gives a deceiving perspective as the hotel is actually quite far from the river.

We arrived jet lagged at 11AM, and they graciously let us check in early at no additional charge. The staff was friendly and helpful and the bed was so comfortable! The location was a couple miles from old town, but the metro stopped right across the street. It was also a pleasant- but long- walk to town along the river.

Honestly, staying at the Abba Hotel in Bilbao encourages me to look for other Abba properties when booking. The room was spacious, the bathroom all up-to-date, the bed was terrific, the breakfast had something for every tastebud, the staff at the desk and in the breakfast room were always cheerful and helpful. Yes, it was a quiet location, but it is across from the futbol stadium and, luckily, there were no games when we were there.

Great hotel if you want to go to the stadium as it is directly opposite which caused access issues during a football match. Located a tram ride from centre of old town so a lot of time spent going back and forth.
The terrace was not open even though the weather was great. Breakfast is very good with lots of menu options. Staff super friendly.

Little Gem in the City

The hotel was great with a restaurant; the food was excellent with a great view. It was quite warm, but it was al Fresca. In the middle of the night at 3am the fire alarm went off - it was a malfunction. It was quite irritating, but at least it wasn't a fire. Breakfast was excellent.

The worst hotel I’ve stayed in

Very disappointed as this hotel was not as advertised!
The big issue was the “bed bugs” that left me and my wife bitten up all over, the facilities were only available if you booked 24hrs in advance and you couldn’t get a drink if you weren’t eating !
This hotel really marred our 2 weeks touring Spain

A lovely trip away

The hotel was great. Comfortable room with lovely big bed. Staff at the hotel were professional, friendly and very helpful. The breakfast had a lot of choice. The hotel was in a good location where it was close to the bus station and tube and tram. You can also walk easily to most places.

Definetely recommended. Great hotel and location. At walking distance of worth seeing places and also centric to ground and air transportation.

The hotel and staff was great. The room was very cold, I asked for some heat but the system vas \"out of order\". Nevertheless I would book this hotel again.

Great location for airport bus, metro and walks

Great location for the metro, bus terminus and getting to the river for walks. The center is not far away but the old town is. Used the hotel whilst attending a conference at the exhibition center which was ideal, 1.80EUR for one-way ticket to the venue, 1.45 EUR for the bus one-way to the airport.

We stayed for a long weekend for the night half marathon ( my hysband was running) and to visit friends. It was an easy walk to the city centre and Guggi and only a short walk to the bus station. Very comforable rooms; friendly staff; excellent breakfast.

Easy access if you are driving

We chose this hotel because we were driving and wanted easy access and parking. It is a typical business level hotel, very adequate for everything. It is a bit of a walk to the main areas, but it was safe and do-able, and you can walk along the river walk. It is by a large stadium, so just make sure your reservation is not coinciding with an even there, or it could be crazy and loud. Service people were very helpful.We would recommend this hotel.

I have stayed in this hotel 3 times and it is always fine. It is in a very good location for the coach station which is useful if you are arriving from the airport or travelling on elsewhere.

Very FRIENDLY STAFF.

The staff were very friendly, specifically the concierge Monica, and all of them spoke very good English which was refreshing. Whenever I asked for something from room service, it would usually be very rapid which is very impressive. The food was very satisfactory and the room was very spacious and clean. As an improvement, it would have been better if the TV had more English channels.
The location was very close to the bus station which I needed and a good 15 minute walk to the center which wasn't too bad.

Close enough to all the major attractions without being too noisy. Stone's throw from the Bus terminal and metro/tram stops. Nice walk along the river to the Guggenheim. Staff very attentive and pleasant. If football is your thing the hotel is bang opposite the Athletic Bilbao stadium.

A central hotel with exceptionally good parking. With a car full of equipment the outside enclosed area gave a feeling of security.
The only downside to this hotel was the ambient noise of the working of the hotel while not severe, it was not expected of a 4 star hotel.
The hotel is also right next to a stadium and though not in use on our stay it could cause difficulty's when staging events, worth checking before booking.

Nice Hotel in an awful location

Very nice hotel, excellent staff, but the location is just awful. It is next to the new football stadium. So, if that's the purpose of your visit, it's great. Bilbao is easy to get around so it's easy to walk, take the tram, or the subway. But the hotel is far enough away and there is nothing else nearby so that walking home at night is isolated and at times a bit creepy (drunken person; characters hanging out).

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location near the main bus station was a huge plus for us. We just walked to the hotel from the station, saving us the expense and hassle of getting a taxi. Departing, we walked back to the station and took the dedicated airport bus for 1.45 Euro. All of the staff members that we dealt with were friendly, professional and helpful. The buffet breakfast was excellent and a real bargain. The room was extremely large and comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. I would stay here again anytime I am in Bilbao.
