I had a really pleasant stay at Hotel Zenit Bilbao. The location is excellent, with nearby bus and tram links making it very easy to get around. Bilbao itself is very walkable, and there are plenty of great bars and restaurants within easy reach of the hotel.
The hotel is very comfortable, and the staff are friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. They really make you feel at ease during your stay. The food was good overall, although I felt there could have been a wider selection of hot options at breakfast.
All in all, it’s a good hotel and particularly suitable for solo travellers looking for comfort, convenience, and a great base to explore the city.

We can not fault the hotel's cleanliness and facilities, nor the friendly and efficient staff. The bathrooms were enormous, with a large range of toiletries.
There weren't too many good restaurants nearby, but a tram stop right outside the hotel would take you to the Guggenheim and the Casco Viejo.

Zenit… very nice hotel in Bilbao

Zenit Bilbao is a good hotel. Although it is not new, is well maintained. The rooms were clean and confortable. Bed is small for a couple but this is very usual in Europe. Staff was very friendly and satisfied all our needs. There is parking available right at the property for a fee (€24 may be a little high but is convenient). The Tram stop right in front of the building is a plus.

This room is not suitable for a four stars hotel. The three beds were so close that lit was impossible to go around them. The third bed with wheels sticking out and a metal plaque injured one of us. The fridge had major scratches and walls and bathroom showed too much wear.(cracks in the granite and moldy grout)
In short we am not coming back. Although the staff was very kind welcoming and accommodating.

Staff very helpful and friendly, rooms scrupulously clean. Loved the fact that the tram terminus is right outside. Only used the dining room once; excellent standard, but unfortunate lack of vegetarian options. Lounge bar disappointed as it is basically the lobby.

Zenit Bilbao Hotel

The Hotel was conveniently located right opposite the tram that does a banana shaped trip around the left of the city but deposits you at the Guggenheim on the way. Zillions of buses also outside the front doors. Staff were exceptionally friendly. Check in was efficient even though I arrived before the appointed hour. Highly recommend this hotel. Also short walk to local bars and shops.

Convenient, clean, comfortable.

This is a very nice hotel. Very clean and comfortable and has very helpful staff at the reception. I actually wasn't on this last trip, my son and daughter were, but I have been there twice before and I had no hesitation in booking this hotel for them. They really enjoyed their stay. It is well situated and the staff will give you a map from a tear off pad everyday if you require it, marking off the places you want to visit. Also, there is a tram station immediately outside the front door making it a good starting point for getting around.

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was very clean and comfortable. There are plenty of restaurants around as well as across the street from the Tram that takes you to Old Town or to the Guggenheim. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good English as we speak very little Spanish.

The trouble with this hotel
1. we all stated about 10 people the extortionate prices if the food.
2. Massively overpriced breakfast and breakfast staff were unhelpful.
3.The restsurant was empty all the time we were there.
4. 35 euros for a dinner was crazy.
5. overpriced parking
6. We had a drink from from the mini bar a juice it was 17 months out of date.
Would stay again but will not eat tgere.
we normally all eat in the hotel when we stsy but not in this one.

Stayed whilst attending the BBK Live festival. The hotel is a short walk from the bus station and next door to the station you can catch the free shuttle bus to the festival. It's barely signposted, just follow the crowds.

Be mindful of your towel in the room....the towels were 'changed' every day, but weren't actually changed - they simply straightened out our existing towels so we had no way to tell which towel had been used by which person.

Not really biker friendly

Travelled with friends around Northern Spain on our motorbikes. On arrival at the hotel we were told we could only park 2 bikes in a car space notwithstanding that there was more than enough room for all three in the allocated space. Happy to pay for 2spaces but they had no more spaces so one of our bikes had to be parked overnight in a public car park. This was the last of our hotels on a weeks trip and the first to insist on limiting bike parking. All very strange. Notwithstanding, a good clean hotel well located with friendly English speaking staff.

Take a long walk or the tram out front to the Guggenheim. Local restaurants are all around. Tram to Casco Viejo for traditional Basque food. Very comfortable room and good looking modern boutique hotel. Reasonable. Nice staff.

Lots to see and do in Billbao

It was easy to get to central Bilbao from the airport on the airport bus which was very cheap to use(1.45 euro single). Discovering Bilbao was fascinating and it was very easy to see many of the sights on foot. The transport systems are easy to use and during our stay we used the metro, local buses and trains. We particularly enjoyed visiting the Vizcaya Bridge (only a 15 min metro ride away) where we enjoyed views of Bilbao harbour and beyond.We travelled further afield to San Sebastian on the bus (which had beautiful beaches), and then Guernica and Bermeo.( a lovely fishing village) on the train.

Lovely Hotel

Located at the quieter end of town this smart compact hotel is the perfect place to stay. Just a short 10 min walk from the main bus station (or 5 min by tram) it is literally just a few short steps from Las Casilla tram stop (it terminates right outside the hotel) Small but comfortable rooms, with a good sized bathroom & all the facilities you would expect from a 4 star hotel, inc' a safe. house phone, numerous power outlets, flat screen TV, fridge, air conditioning, complimentary toiletries etc. The rooms are lovely.

Being directly opposite the tram stop makes it the perfect location to explore this beautiful city, with all the major attractions dotted close to it's route it is easy to hop on /hop off with an \"all day return\" ticket. (5 euros as of 15/1/17). If like me you prefer to walk, Bilbao is an ideal City for getting around. For example, some friends of ours elected to catch the tram back to the hotel from the Adando stop, me & my partner decided to walk. We actually got back a couple of min's before them as we're able to walk directly (the tram circumnavigates the City)

As for general hotel facilities, the lobby contains a small bar, a small computer station & the main restaurant (where you also have breakfast) The breakfast is excellent & in typical European style, with a reasonable selection (considering the limited space) all caters for most tastes.

Close to the Hotel they are a number of bars, small shops & a good sized \"Simply\" supermarket 100 mtrs away.

Great Hotel in Bilbao

When we arrived, the staff were very helpful, directing us to the parkade, providing maps and directing us to nearby restaurants and shops. They also provided information on how to get to the Old Town and the Guggenheim. We only stayed one night, but found the room clean, quiet, spacious and the beds were comfortable. Even though the hotel is not in the centre of town, it was only a short ride on Bilbao's excellent tram system to major sites. I would recommend staying here.

Good hotel with good transport links

We stayed in the Zenit Bilbao in July 2015 for two nights. The hotel is bright and light. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Rooms are not huge but have good facilities and are air-conditioned. The tram line, which takes you to all the main tourist sites, old town etc, finishes outside the hotel. And it is three stops from bus station (where airport bus arrives and buses to places through the region leave). The metro is close, there are lots of cafes and restaurants within ten mins walk and the main sites are within 30 mins walk.

3.5 star hotel with friendly staff

I stayed in Zenit Bilbao two nights from 24th to 26th June 2015 and found this hotel a very good value for money. It is conveniently located in 10 minutes walk from the bus terminal and right in front of the tram station. What I paid was approx. A$100 per night for single room without breakfast. I would have given a better score for room comfort if they had coffee/tea making facility in a room. Another good thing about this hotel is staff, who are all very friendly and helpful. After traveling 30 hours from Sydney, nothing welcomes you better with friendly staff at the hotel.

Also a couple of meters away from the bus stop and a couple of blocks away from termibus. Very confortable stay, great service from the staff and very clean everything.

The hotel in centrally located in Bilbao but somewhat off from the tourist attractions. Good choice for both business and leisure trips. Hotel was clean and staff very friendly and service minded. The only thing to complain on was that the room was a bit small and that the window was facing some larger ventilation/light shaft or small courtyard.

Just what I needed

This was an overnight stop for me. Upon arriving from Bilbao airport (25,00EUR approx. in taxi), the staff were every so welcoming. After a swift check-in I was in my room, connected to the free Wi-Fi (fairly good internet speed) and enjoyed an excellent shower. The staff were ever so helpful when I asked about directions to the bus station - it was in fact only a 5 minute walk to the bus station which was even better.

Comfy beds and well furnished rooms. Couldn't have asked for more! Well done.

Room not the same as reserved

Woman at the front desk checking us in was incredibly cold. The room we received was not what we reserved. The rooms require a hotel key to turn on the lights and air conditioning. This is fine if anyone would have explained how this works. Walking around a dark room patting the walls isn't the solution. They refused to move us to the reserved room even though the hotel was nearly empty. Definitely would not go back.

Good hotel and location but restaurant disappointing

No complaints at all about the hotel. Comfortable room and a really convenient location for all that Bilbao has to offer. However, my friend and I decided one night to eat at the hotel restaurant, Abando and this was a real disappointment, especially the service. After ordering wine and a main course we were served our meal and after that we completely ignored by the waiter despite the fact that the restaurant was almost empty and the other diners were being attended to, Our plates were not even cleared and we were not asked if we required dessert. When we eventually got the waiter's attention to pay the bill I enquired about the discount advertised in the book we received when we purchased our \"Bilbao Cards\" . I was told somewhat abruptlythat it was a travel card! Eventually the hotel manager was called and went off to investigate and returned to inform me we were indeed entitled to a discount, A small amount, considerably less than the 10% discount advertised in the book, was deducted, but this still did not make the indifferent fare we were served value for money.
