A traditional warm Scottish welcome awaits you at Moness House Hotel & Country Club. Nestled on 35 acres of picturesque countryside in the heart of Highland Perthshire, the resort offers an ideal base for exploring the area.

The recently refurbished hotel features 26 luxurious rooms, including family suites, romantic doubles, twins, and single rooms. A separate leisure complex boasts an indoor heated pool, steam room, solarium, snooker room, a bar, and two restaurants.

Originally a hunting lodge dating back to 1758, the historic hotel reopened on November 1, 2008, and has been meticulously refurbished to meet Scottish Tourist Board standards. Each of the hotel's rooms is unique, varying in views, size, floor level, ceiling height, and location, ensuring a personalized experience.


Located in Aberfeldy, Moness Resort is in a rural location, within a 5-minute drive of Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery and Castle Menzies. This family-friendly hotel is 6.4 mi (10.3 km) from Loch Tay and 13.9 mi (22.4 km) from Blair Athol Distillery.

We used the pool and hot tub before our room was available which we enjoyed. The lady at reception was really helpful. Our room was excellent and situated on the ground floor not far from our parking spot.

Stay was lovely overall and the food was absolutely excellent! The staff were also extremely attentive and accommodating. The only negatives were with the room; the double bed was 2 singles pushed together and there was a very uncomfortable ridge in the middle, the tv only has about 4 BBC channels and nothing else had reception, there were no plug points by the bed on either side, and the carpet in the room was quite badly stained. A little bit of TLC and it would have been a 5-star rating.

Self catering one bedroom cottage was ideal. Twin bedroom upstairs, sofa bed downstairs. Kitchen area with hob, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge with ice box. Shower room woth wc upstairs and downstairs.
Didn't hear any noise from neighbours during stay. Family enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna in the main hotel. Kids loved the pool table and duck pond. Majority of the staff were really friendly and helpful.
Short walk (10mins) down the hill into Aberfeldy town. A few cafes, bars restaurants and other shops.

Bed was so comfy. Pool area was nice. Easy to park and staff very friendly.

Great location with lovely walk into Aberfeldy down by the river. So many attractions close by and a great base for exploring.

Breakfast tasty and good selection of continental items on top of the cooked breakfast.

The hotel once our Sat Nav got us there was very very good. The staff were all lovely and friendly. The room was spacious and beautifully clean with a lovely big bathroom with a full size bath and shower. The breakfast was really lovely again really friendly helpful staff. Our evening meal was also a delight and reasonably priced.

My husband bought me a hot stones massage from the Spa for my birthday. It was done by the lovely LJ and was so relaxing.

We finished our visit off with an afternoon tea It was so good. But so much we brought a lot of it home in boxes.

We’d definitely go back.

Stayed here a few times, always a self catering apartment. Can’t complain regarding the price. Some are a bit tired looking but when you’re away with your brother and nineteen year old son it doesn’t really matter as long as it’s clean, which it was. Great location for hill walks and golf.

Nice resort, lots of greenery around and easy walk into Aberfeldy via footpath. Room was nice apart from noisy people in room above. Breakfast service was not great on 1st morning, egg was rock solid and coffee was so strong it was all but undrinkable But on 2nd morning the team were far better organised, better service (clearing table of empty plates to make more space). But overall very good value and a great location

Great stay- will be going back

We were staying here while going to the international eventing at Scone. All of our family thourally enjoyed our stay. We arrived quite late but this was no problem for reception.
The only slightly negative thing was the bed settee was a bit uncomfortable to sleep on.
We will be going back as a family.

Loved our stay at Moness Resort. Enjoyed the putting, lawn games, rock painting. Also used the swimming pool twice. Staff we all lovely. Dinner in restaurant was lovely too. Good choice of children's food. Room was clean and well laid out. We would definitely stay here again.

My mum and I had the best time at Moness resort. We stayed in the hotel our room was brilliant, very roomy with great facilities. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and hardworking. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner which was fab. Swimming pool and facilities are excellent and we made the most of using these both days. Perfect break. Well done Moness.

Had a basement room in the hotel. It was very dark although comfortable. To use the facilities I had to download their app and booking a slot in their spa had to be done 24 hours in advance. Not worth the trouble for a two night stay.

Decent sized cottage for two

Stayed in one of the cottages with my brother for a hill walking trip. Ideal for us but the carpet could do with a clean, apart from that everything was ideal. Twin beds ok. Cottage was nice and warm as was Baltic outside. Shower was a bit varied in heat but bearable.

Hotel, grounds and location were very good. Unfortunately the spa facilities were a let down. Pool are was cold and unsuitble for relaxing. Steam room was cool and sauna had draft coming in. Other residents hogging the hot tub and not vacating it during cleaning cycle.

We liked the doggy treat pack, the locaction, grounds, quietness and swimming pool.
The cottage was dated and wasnt very clean. Considering we paid an extra £50 for a dog friendly cottage, our dogs found a raw hide treat under one of the sofas as soon as we arrived. There was dirty cutlery in the drawers. It was all a bit grubby. We have stayed in lots of dog friendly accommodation over the past 8 yeads and this was poor.

Good stay overall

We had a nice relaxing time at the resort. Main highlight was the pool, steam room and jacuzzi which we had to ourselves. Sauna was out of order unfortunately. Room was ok but had bits if ceiling coming off. Bed was a bit hard but good sleep. Even on ground floor its fairly quiet at night. The cooked breakfast was a bit oily.

We were attracted to booking this cottage at Moness Resort due to the featured use of the swimming pool and spa, which advertised steam room, sauna and jacuzzi being included in the deal. However we were very disappointed on arrival to find that the Sauna and Jacuzzi were both out of order and the temperature in the pool was very uncomfortably cold. To top it all up the showers were also cold with no hot showers available. (We had to go back to the cottage to get a hot shower). We did complain, but were told that we were not entitled to any compensation as the facilities were complimentary. We believe that it should be stated that only the steam room is properly working. We were told that the water temperature was within the guidelines and that it was checked daily and hand written on a board. I have used many pools and spas and never have any of them been as cold as this. There were another couple of people in the pool, who 100% agreed with me. I think it would be unsafe for children to stay in this temperature for long. We met with a local at a nearby restaurant, who told us that they had heard people often complaining about the temperature of the pool. It is such a shame, as this area is so beautiful and the pool and spa could be wonderful if kept properly maintained.

Fantastic break. We had 2 \"cottages\" which were part of a block. They were clean and spacious and set up for 6 people. Parking is convenient, and it is a short walk to the town. Food is good, but the menu is not extensive. Just don't go if you have anatidaephobia (look it up:-)

Really enjoyed my one night stay. It was very quiet, which was lovely but I booked a table in the bar and the bar was closed. No notification of this had to ask in the dining room to get a table. It was a shame as it was such a lovely night so would have liked have dat outside the bar for dinner. Can’t really complain as food was lovely .
If I’m being picky, only one (of three) shower(s) working in the women’s changing room at pool and shower in room wasn’t great.

Fabulous hotel set in beautiful large wooded grounds.
Secluded and peaceful.
Both apartment's booked were huge,(ground floor)
Large comfortable bed.
Big bathroom.
We did make use the hotel swimming pool with our 2yr old granddaughter.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff in particular (Fabulous breakfast by the way).
Would have no hesitation staying at Moness Resort again.
In our 7 day road trip of Scotland, this was our favourite stop-over.

The Kenmore Club was originally the walled garden for the nearby Taymouth Castle, home of the Marquis of Breadalbane.
