Pine Trees is a fantastic hotel. Our bedroom was lovely - decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Huge bathroom with large shower and huge stand alone bath.
There is a pantry area on the landing with snacks, fresh milk and water. A really nice touch.
We had a bar meal and some drinks. Both were excellent and staff were friendly.
Breakfast was okay, a couple of things let it down.
Otherwise a great stay.

We were lucky enough to have our room upgraded to a mini suite which was absolutely stunning. Every part of the hotel was beautiful - from the room, to the seating areas, restaurant and food. The staff were fantastic and very attentive. We had the most wonderful stay and will definitely be back.

We had a lovely stay earlier this month and were very impressed with the renovations that have recently been carried out in the hotel. We had a lovely relaxing stay and enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant. We enjoyed a drink in the bar after our meal . All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely like to stay at Pine Trees again soon.

Shabby old property. Threadbare carpets, plywood doors with Yale locks. Weird corridors terrible lighting and a boiling hot room. Openerd the window in 109 and at 4am the wheely bins were all taken out over the cobbles.

Also, I rarely bother to leave a bad review - but this place was bad enough to check out early and looose a night

Beautiful grounds, fabulous refurb, rooms are spotless, loved the gorgeous decor.
All staff very attentive and helpful.
Breakfast was delicious.
Loved the attention to detail, we were given a welcome drink, also there’s a seating area set up near rooms, providing sweet and savoury snacks.
On checkout we were also given a leaving treat( small bag of assorted sweets). All greatly appreciated.
We Definetly plan to return and would highly recommend this gorgeous boutique hotel.

Excellent stay at the coach house with our furry freeloader. The studio was cosy, well equipped and furnished to a high standard. The hotel itself was very nice and stuff very friendly and welcoming. Our only issue was with the dining where our meals had issues with quality and timing. Waiting 45 minutes for our breakfast order and then our dinner being partially cooked. I would stay here again, I just wouldn’t dine here again.

Down to earth luxury.

Amazing hotel! The whole hotel is beautifully decorated and provides a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Lovely, friendly staff. Really comfortable room with lots of added extras, we had everything we needed.

Only negatives were: our room was very hot and a bit noisy as we had to have the windows open. But overall we had an excellent time and would definitely return.

Amazing Boutique Hotel in an Amazing Location!!

We have stayed at a number of hotels at Pitlochry - this is by far our favourite. Lovely boutique hotel. The team of young staff were really helpful and went out of their way to help.
Room was lovely
This is a truly dog friendly hotel - dog was able to come down for dinner and breakfast in the bar and got a lovely doggie welcome pack.

Hotel was pretty quiet so lacking in atmosphere when we stayed. The first room we were allocated was quite small and very hot so we’re moved without fuss. The food was good & the service excellent but they are charging at the top end of the scale so it should be good, on balance just about worth it.

Revamped stylish bout. hotel with friendly charm

We stayed at Pine Trees Hotel for our wedding anniversary. From the moment we walked through the doors the extra thought they have put into the details were evident; from the dog bowls and treats for four legged friends to rain coats and Hunter wellies for the humans to borrow.
Having had a recent revamp, the interior design is contemporary chique in deep warm colours without taking the attention away from the original Victorian features.
It feels more like stepping into someone’s home than a boutique hotel.
David at the reception - discretely placed by the main stair case the foyer - was very helpful - and even showed us the potential upgrade we could have in person. We didn’t go for the balcony room (25) as it was much smaller than our originally booked room; Snowdrop (Room 2) - which we absolutely loved!
Cases were taken to our room by the lovely Paul, and the radio was playing Meatloaf as we walked through the doors. I appreciated the small details such as good quality coffee and teas and high quality bath products.
In the hall just outside the room they had placed complimentary cakes and macarons alongside a milk fridge.
There were complimentary welcome drinks waiting at Flora Bar. Dinner at Fauna was lovely; we had the Chateau Briand as our main. Only downside was that food came before our drinks and no water was offered. Waiters were very friendly and personable.
We loved the a la carte breakfast which was delicious.

We would love to come back (for room 4)!

The newly refurbished hotel is beautiful. The staff were so welcoming and nothing was any bother, they went out of their way to make our stay perfect. We had 3 rooms, each one was different, but all were stunning. The beds and bedding were very comfy. Everywhere was spotless clean. The attention to detail was so good. The facilities in the rooms were such good quality, lovely kettle,coffee maker, radio, hairdryer, robes and slippers. Everything had been considered. The food at both breakfast and dinner was very tasty and of a high standard. The lounge areas were very cosy and comfortable. All in all this was a beautiful place to stay and I would hope to return sometime.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Gorgeous location easily walkable into town. Breakfast standard was exceptional. We ate in one evening and were very impressed with the menu and quality of cuisine. Top end and with understandably prices to match. Loved the whole ambience of the place. Only minor complaint is that radiators and fans need cleaned out. They were pretty clogged with dust.

Very nice 1 night stay and we'll go back another time. Roomy, lots of different rooms, large bar, informal, wood burner in reception/sitting area, large and comfortable room with bags of space and plenty of hangers, coffee table and comfy chairs. Modern and well equipped bathroom, shower excellent (hot water took a longish time to arrive), fluffy towels. Old house (built 1890's?) in lovely garden full of pines (surprise) everything looked immaculate but unchanged in character. Full of delightful old books. Bags taken up (and down), no lift, staff delightful, helpful, informal, food was delicious (and we are very picky). I have a personal vendetta against plastic bags in the loo and waste bins, but other than that, no crits.

This hotel is sooo elegant. I felt very spoilted during my stay. I had a single room overlooking the front of the hotel with its surrounding gardens and red squirrels in the trees. Plenty of safe parking and within walking distance of The town . The food was good and the staff so friendly and helpful. Talking to some of the other visitors I found that many of them were on their 4th and 5 th visit. That says it all . I’ll be back.

The property needs a serious update and deep cleaning. We traveled on August and during our stay the only music that was playing was Christmas music.
The room needed
cleaning, there were huge spiderwebs in the washroom. The walking closet had a foul smell. The door wasn't closing properly unless we slammed it hard. The breakfast buffet had a normal selection. We were assigned specific table we arrived for breakfast but some of the dishes on the table were dirty. The coffee wasn't replenished, and when we asked for more coffee it was served in a French-press with the lid all crooked and ready to result in a huge spill. Quiet place, but it's definitely needs some upgrades.

We have just recently returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely hotel. The hotel is very well presented both inside and out. The interior has a lovely welcoming, cosy and homely feel and is also kept very clean. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming starting at check in right through our stay to check out. Cannot praise them highly enough. We had dinner, bed and breakfast both days and have to say the food was truly excellent. Freshly cooked and very tasty. We can totally recommend a stay at this hotel and will certainly return in the future. We are already looking forward to our next stay there. Thanks again to everyone at Pine Trees for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable.

Everything about this hotel is fantastic, we stayed in the Caledonia suite, it is just perfect especially if you have your dog with you.
All the staff are great, but I have to mention Diana, as she is just amazing, making you all feel so welcome.

The Pine Trees Hotel was set it a beautiful quiet location, only slightly away from the main town of Pitlochry. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful. Our double room was old fashioned, but the linens were clean and the bathroom had been recently renovated.

The food was the biggest let down. We bought the 3-course menu (typically £58), but the portion sizes were almost farcical. I would expect more food from a Michelin star restaurant. I understand that the food is local and specialty, but it was also not cooked with any flavour. I could only taste some butter and some salt.

For the price, dinner put a bad taste in our mouth for the rest of the trip unfortunately.

The suite we had in the Coach was okay, curtains were not very nice as all of them needed proper hooks, not fitting right and a blind couldn't move. Also our sink push down plug didn't rise up again and had to have water there all night. Room 34 just a pity for the price per night.

The hotel itself is very nice and well located. We had Room 30 in the annex, which was plenty spacious and well equipped. However, the heating system is not functioning adequately in this apartment. The living room was relatively cool whilst the bedroom was like a sauna, I tried to change the thermostatic radiator valves accordingly in both rooms but this made no difference.

The heat in the bedroom was so bad that we couldn't sleep and had to open a window. This wouldn't have been an issue however it seemed there was a lively event going elsewhere in the hotel grounds (I suspect the caravans) that kept us awake until almost 3am. Unfortunately this was a very poor night's sleep on our one night away without our kids.

Finally, the breakfast selection was poor and seemed almost exclusively based around a Scottish fried breakfast. I mostly eat vegetarian and rarely fried food, and I just didn't feel there were enough appetizing options outside of the fried Scottish breakfast. I was able to cobble together enough to eat but at a premium hotel, I would typically expect just better quality and more options.

I explained my concerns to reception and emailed the feedback but didn't really get much in the way of a satisfactory response.

The Pine Trees is a lovely hotel in a quiet area of town. The breakfast was delicious and the room was well-appointed. Being an older establishment, there were not as many sockets as we might have liked but we adapted. (My husband uses a breathing machine at night and we had to move the bed to be able to plug it in.) The shower walls needed a good scrub - they were a bit mildewy and the base of the shower very slippery. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Loved the fireplace to sit and have an evening drink by!

Worst experience

This was £205.29 wasted money. Room 34. Mould in shower grout. A loose tile in shower room floor. cheap lumpy polyester pillows. rusty pipe. Nowhere to put suitcase. Only 3 tea bags. Draughty bathroom window badly fitted. Ironing board stuffed alongside cupboard in view. Couldn’t find safe even though advertised. Bathroom fan stayed on for hours. And the King bed was two singles with a huge gap and ridges. This is false advertising

Stayed here during the Pitlochry Highland Games

We had a great, massive, room in one of the smaller buildings near the hotel main house proper. Staff were extremely friendly, encouraged us to drop the car off early in the morning at the hotel (before checking in) and walking into town for the Highland Games. Breakfast was decent, and we also booked dinner at the hotel. Dinner was excellent, and pricey, but in the final analysis worthwhile. Meal service was so-so, but much of the UK has staffing issues these days. Anyway, the main hotel was beautiful and we would have loved to have spent more time in the lounge and bar there. Next trip...

We stayed in the Coach House. I was surprised to find the room to be basic after viewing the manor house online expecting something more luxurious. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. Its an easy walk to town and many restaurants.

Stay at Pitlochry.

Our stay was excellent in every respect from check in to check out the personnel we came in contact with were all very nice people. The dinner and breakfast were also excellent. A superb stay altogether would recommend Pine Trees Hotel to anyone.

Mediocre at best

The main hotel seemed OK, but the coach house annexe was laughable. Could hear every single noise of our fellow coach house inmates. Room consisted of a lounge which was styled like a doctors waiting room and and bedroom with a very uncomfortable bed. Laminate flooring coming away left right and centre formed a considerable toe-pinching trip hazard

This is a lovely mansion, and the garden surrounding it is very nice. The house is showing its age, however, and finding our room was like trying to go through an English maze. We were housed at the top of the house in what may have been the old servant quarters, and we could only use one window to air and cool the room as the other two were above the area where folks could smoke. Breakfast was great, and the dining room is lovely, but dinner here is overpriced for the quality served.

Lovely wee spot

Excellent wee hotel hidden away at the top of the hill. Lovely interior in the reception / bar area, sunny terrace, lots of windy staircases and wee nooks n crannies. Staff very professional and warm. Deffo be back
