Our bathroom in room 1210 had no vent. The vent had been covered with a metal panel. It is not standard to have unvented bathrooms.

The per-night parking fee is absolutely ridiculous at over $50 a night after tax.

We opted for the 430 sq ft room, which offered plenty of space plus a balcony. The balcony was facing the over-priced parking, so it was nothing to enjoy. We were in building 4. Walking to building 4 with our luggage from the lobby was like going through a maze. You can ultimately park next to your building.

The indoor pool and gym are nice. The grounds are well-kept. The free cookies at check-in were delicious.

Horrible hotel definitely outdated. Will remind you of the motel 6. Not worth the price. I recommend that you do not stay at this hotel. I’ve traveled a lot in my young life and by far this has been the worst hotel that I’ve stayed at.

The hotel restaurant was wonderful. Sitting right in the corner with views of the marina and sight of the Golden Gate bridge was idyllic. The food was delicious and the wait staff were so professional. The park next to the hotel was perfect for walking around and seeing the beautiful views. The hotel is older and dated but the surrounding area was well worth. It was just a short uber drive to San Francisco sites.

Obvious water damage in our bathroom. Door and vanity were never been replaced and ceiling was in very poor shape. Also, the dresser door was in need of repair. But it appears that the cleaning staff do a fairly good job. Our bed was comfortable and our dinner at the Berkeley Boathouse was very good and our waitress was attentive.

Staff was very friendly but property was somewhat in help of cleaning, especially the indoor pool area (looked like nobody cleaned up after the guests in a long time). Also went to eat at their restaurant which was extremely disappointing. Good service, although our soft drinks showed up a few seconds before our meal. Calamari was not crispy at all, Beet salad barely had any beets and over was saturated with dressing. Was extremely shocked that the sodas were $7.00 each. I realize it’s a hotel restaurant but seriously, I work at a resort by Yosemite and our soft drinks only cost $4.00. The chicken wings were also a miss as they were tiny, especially for $20.00. If it wasn’t for the location (we booked a fishing charter for my kids 13th birthday) I’d never stay here again. $45.00 for self parking wasn’t mentioned when I booked either. Overall I’d give the whole experience a 4 out of 10.

I booked a room that wasn't the cheapest. But it was quite old room, especially the carpet, furniture.

Also, when I entered the room there was an unpleasant smell. I had to open the balcony and go for a walk to air out the room. The door to the small balcony barely opened. By the way, there was no tulle on them, only blackout curtains. That is, everything in your room is visible from the balcony opposite.

The hotel has a restaurant, but breakfast is charged separately. If you pay for breakfast when booking your room, you will only be able to choose 1 dish from the menu that costs $22 or less.
So don't order breakfast when booking a room. You can have breakfast in the same restaurant or visit other cafes in the city nearby.

What was even more outrageous was that we had to pay $45 for parking separately for one night! We were only informed about this when we checked out!

The check-in process was not great. We had stayed here before so were surprised by this most recent experience. The line was long and staff members few so it took over half an hour. The room number on the key sleeve was not written well so the keys did not open the door we thought was our room. We went back to the front desk and another person recoded the keys. Went back to the room; opened the door; and found it was occupied by someone else. Fortunately, no one was in. We were so horrified that we opened someone else's door. Went back to the front desk a third time and that was when they discovered the room number on the sleeve was not well written. They also did not assign us a room with the view of the marina, as we had requested and paid for. So after three tries, we finally got the right room. The property needs upgrades and while the location is great, we would not likely return again. Thanks.

We like the location but the room was small and for people with disabilities the shower head was to close to the wall and it made it uncomfortable to take a shower the balcony was facing the parking lot so we hat to keep the curtains close for privacy

The beds were outstandingly comfortable along with the bedding. However the door to the balcony was visibly out of square which let us know the property is aging, and the sofa chair in the room was not comfortable at all, the cushion sloped noticeably forward making the chair very uncomfortable to sit in. However, this is the 4th time my husband and I have stayed at your hotel in the last 11 months and we really do like staying at the Doubletree! The location is fantastic, we get a great night sleep and the rooms are always clean and your staff is always very friendly and helpful.

The parking sucks, I tried to go on a walk outside and there was a homeless man trying to get in, the elevator felt like it was going to collapse every time you’d get in, the place feels old and definitely needs renovations, the map was a little confusing and I had to go to the front desk because my key wasn’t working, it felt like a motel more than a hotel, they also didn’t tell me in advance before booking that they will charge you 200 dollars when you check in just in case there are any damages and they reimburse it to you after you check out, the staff was great and helpful, I called the front desk at 12 am to request toothpaste and I got it in less than 5 minutes which is nice considering the walk is long. The issue is with the administration of the place, not the employees. They seriously need to fix that parking lot and renovate the buildings in general

Check out-quick and easy. Rooms-comfortable and clean. Restaurant-exorbitantly high prices for mediocre food but the service was good. Parking-also pricey. Location-gorgeous marina views. Overall I thought it was a good stay and I would stay here again.

The property is beautiful and the staff was so warm and welcoming and friendly. We had a marina view room and the view was stunning. The warm chocolate chip and walnut cookies were a wonderful treat. Would definitely stay there again!

I stayed at the doubletree Marina Hotel for 4 nights and I had a really good experience. The view by the bay was amazing. The boathouse restaurant had a decent amount of food selection. I do kind of wish there was more food selection closer but its only about a 20 minute walk or a couple minutes drive/uber if you do want to get into town and get some other food. The amenities were nice - pool was always a good temperature and small but really warm hot tub. The sauna was a nice touch as well. Room was always really clean and staff was pleasant and very helpful. Would definitely come back if I needed a place to stay in the area.

Big surprise to us...$47/night for parking and we had two cars! BUT, there is parking across Marina Blvd not requiring much of a walk...BUT it was pouring!

friendly staff, slightly overzealous maid service reveals need for more communication from front desk.
I would recommend this hotel to a friend staying in the bay area east bay Berkeley, Richmond, Albany, Emeryville, El Cerrito, Oakland, et all. Close to Skates by Bay, Hana Japan, Amtrak Berkeley, & 4th street shops.

It was very noisy. My room was right next to the elevator and I could hear it all night and morning. My neighbors were also very loud so I couldn’t get to bed and woke up very early. It was my fault for not putting up do not disturb sign bug house cleaning knocked at 9am when check out is 12pm.

Waited outside at 7pm for 20 minutes for no valet to show up. Cars just piling up behind us and giving us dirty looks like we are the ones causing issues. We decide to move the car ourselves and walk back to the lobby. Wait is long and finally it’s our turn. I tell her we’ve been waiting outside for almost a half hour for your valet. She says “oh they sometimes take breaks, self parking will be $40 per night for the stay”. Ugggghhhh. The one chance she had to make up for the bologna and she charges us for parking instead of sending the valet or just comping the parking. The amenities are so so. You can’t walk the area after dark. It’s not safe whatsoever. You will feel how unsafe it is there and dark as can be. We probably will not be going back. Overall the stay was bad, we tried to make the best of it.

A Great place to rest, relax and enjoy. The staff was great with no issues with my check in!

The room was solid, just a bit dusty on the AC vent that was causing my allergies to act up a bit. Everything was functional, bedding was clean and bathroom was spotless.

Unfortunately the parking was a bit difficult as the exit bar wasn’t letting me and three other guests out in the nighttime. We tried to push the help button but no one answered.

Originally, they placed us at Building 2. It had a straight rent-by-hour vibe, dingy and dim ass hallways. Walking in the actual room was a experience- the air felt coated with that nasty sex smell, it was humid with nasty walls, wet marks on the couch… like, did someone just do the freak nasty riiiight before we checked in? And they placed us above the roof of what was probably the laundry facilities. Maybe the worst room of the entire hotel.

We had to change; they put us in Building 4. It was slightly better than the other room. HOWEVER upon closer examination, there were boogers on the curtains, dirty walls, and even dirtier windows. Both inside and outside.
