The only positive is the AC worked. It was like they didn’t replace the bedding just remade it. There were different types of hairs all over the beds, tiny flat pillows, no smoking but there were cigarette burns in the bathroom. Not to mention the window was open with no screen, the window sill was filthy probably never wiped down. Tub was brown. I put a towel down in the bathroom to step on out of the shower and it picked up so much dirt I don’t know if they ever mop. 1/10 do not recommend. You get what you pay for. The bed was so uncomfortable.

Rooms shown are not the rooms they provide. These might be the only 3-4 rooms that are decent on the property. Our room was old, neglected and was not as clean. I thought about checking out but upon asking there was no refunds and of course super bowl weekend makes it much harder to find a place last minute. Was not happy with my stay.

The pictures are deceiving … it feels sketchy lots of questionable guests and people smoking pot in the parking lot. Bathroom was dirty .. hair in the shower, stained toilet seat, very grimey.. grout, walls and corners are not cleaned. Although the gentleman who checked me in was VERY NICE I did not feel safe throughout the night. Lots of late night traffic from other guests. The cleanliness was not up to par even though we literally waited as the cleaning lady worked on our room.

Staff was lack supporting of me arriving earlier jus back n forth of support Lying of a room i wanted that was available, i check 1st room didnt wanted no jus a fountain shower i wanted a tub n shower, so i had to wait another 40 mins after 3pm check in for the other room an come to find out that room was already clean n staff knew this an have me waited in rain for extra 40 mins after check in time.

Mildew on walls in room and shower, rotting baseboards near ac unit and windows, tiles and grout missing, woke up to step in a puddle of water on ground from leaking ac unit where i noticed the wooden bed frame where mattress sits on was rotting, ac unit filter had 1 inch or more covered in dust, And the shower was clogged so halfway through shower it was up to your ankles! They sent housekeeping who did not understand me complaints all to leave me stuck their one night all to wake up sick and congested from my asthma! And to top it off they knew I was disabled and pregnant with kids staying there!

Went to front desk and let them know was told room service was every other day. Ai asked where is it posted or customer's informed. Left a day early already paid for because it is useless. When I told this to the manager, he just stared at me like there was a language issue. I know there was NOT a language issue when I asked him about the tv remote because he came to the room to push a few buttons on the remote. I had a board meeting Saturday morning that I had to take on the exterior stairs next to the office because the office was too small. One night, there was a party in the room next door that spilled out onto the banister right in front of my room. The manager is on site and did nothing! I'm glad I always travel with my own pillowcase, or I'm sure I would not have slept a wink. I will NEVER stay here again and I would NEVER recommend it. I didn't know 2-3 stars means that the room won't be clean. I just thought it was a no frills situation, which would have been fine, but there is NO VALUE in America's Best Value Inn.

It was fine, met the goal of a safe place to stay for a couple nights. The air worked, the beds were clean, the doors locked. The bathroom was damp and stayed damp but for the most part we weren't concerned for the cleanliness. There is NO BREAKFAST despite being listed. Parking was easy though we didn't have a car.

We got in the first room and there was bloody sheets and used wet towels hanging in the restroom, and hair all over the pillows. When we asked to get a change of sheets they wanted us to change the sheets ourselves. They put us in a different room and more stained sheets and hair on the pillow but not as much blood!!! So I guess that’s a win and we ended up staying at our family’s house.

I stepped into the room for five minutes and instantly started getting nauseous it had a very strong chemical smell a mixture of cleaning products with no ventilation. I tried opening up the window airing it out, but it just wasn’t working well I asked for a refund as I decided to not stay there and ended up getting a hotel elsewhere and they denied my refund. I literally wasn’t in the room longer than five minutes. It’s very unfair for them to not give me my refund.

phone & wi-fi access was terrible. that said the room was surprisingly quiet considering how close to freeway we were & very convenient to places we went tho none were 'walkable' still the staff were excellent & very helpful (due to train schedule we arrived quite late and they were most accomidating = loved having a fridge/microwave- tv service was great. i personally found the mattress hard but i like a softer one. wish they had softer pillows tho. -- this is not against the room - i just find the platform bed style they use (as does motel 6 etc) to be very uncomfortable as the mattress slides around on it. but thats just not a preference of mine.

i recently stayed in Room 227 at Americas Best Value Inn Richmond San Francisco. The room itself was clean and had all the basic amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making check-in and check-out hassle-free.
However, I did experience some issues with noise from the adjoining room. There is a connecting door between rooms, which unfortunately didn’t provide enough sound insulation. Sounds from the neighboring room were quite noticeable, affecting the overall peace and quiet.
Despite this, the location was convenient, and the service was good. If you’re sensitive to noise, you may want to request a room without an adjoining door.

This place was freightening to stay in. From the moment we arrived, there were people openly using drugs just outside the hotel – it felt completely unsafe. Inside, things somehow got worse. The bathroom had visible mold, the rooms reeked of filth, and everything felt extremely dirty and poorly maintained.
This is not just a run-down hotel – it’s a health and safety hazard. I can’t stress this enough: do not ever bring your family or children here. I wouldn’t even recommend it to someone traveling alone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or unsafe in a hotel in my life.

The room smell like tobacco as soon as I walked in there the shower didn’t work at all and when I brought the issue up I was told by the guy at the front desk that it was already too late that I had accepted the room. I told him that the fact remained that they gave me a dirty room which it was unacceptable. He didn’t attempt to fixed or anything and said that regardless I had paid full price and used the room. I would not recommend that hotel at all if I could I would give them -100 rating. Bad service don’t care for the customers.

The sound insulation effect of the hotel is not good, you can hear the sound of vehicles driving on the highway. The cleanliness of the room was not ideal and I saw flying insects crawling on the desk. The K-Cup coffee pot on the table has an unclean filling inlet, etc.

Biggest mistake staying in this hotel the room is dirty even the walls are dirty with spots of something like ketchup I think the bathroom is dirty and the curtains are extremely dirty like mechanics took a shower grabbing the curtains

The most decent motel you can find at the low price and within decent distance when visiting UC Berkeley. Stayed here at least 4 times already. The room we stayed last time was the worst ever in terms of maintenance. The other times we stayed were fine without any issues. The door knob was loose and ready to fall out. The shower/water control was extremely difficult to adjust hot/cold water. The GFI outlet was burnt and can not use. The lamps over the sink and entry hallway were constantly flashing. There were other small issues. So this room was not up to par. We just got the bad room. Hopefully not next time. Would I stay again? Definitely, unless I can find lower priced and decent motel close to UC Berkeley. But for those who do not like noise, the motel is next to the street so you will hear decent amount of noise at night. But we were able to sleep thru every time. There are no decent stores & restaurants within walking distance so you'll need to drive a little and find many good stores/restaurants which we did not mind.
