The newly renovated Dunloe Hotel & Gardens is situated in the South West of Ireland in Beaufort, County Kerry, overlooking the famous Gap of Dunloe.
This leading 5 star luxury hotel is set on its own 64 acres estate on the edge of the River Laune and a short drive from the town of Killarney.

Great proper Irish 5 star hotel. Loved the way the property brings the landscape indoors by using huge windows framed in black. Not many hotels in Ireland embrace the landscape in this way. Only drawback is there is really only 1 choice for evening meal. The bar needs to offer better menu a la sister hotel The Europe.

Far enough outside Killarney for some quiet. But an easy drive in to town. Very nice grounds for walking and hotel activities. Horses are beautiful. Rims are set up well. You can tell staff takes pride in their work. Amazing dining room where the views are a great part of meals.

Was in a rush for time and ordered the full irish but didnt come to table so had to skip it. They did send it after i went looking but wasnt a great start to the day. Rooms are very clean and very quiet with thick solid windows. Always a plus for me!

Besides the view of Dunloe - unbelievably disappointing. Poor standard room that had dead flies in the window inside, bird dirt all over the balcony, chipped indoor window sill that badly needed a lick of paint. A general feeling of discomfort with the room - it is not at all on par with price.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner all fine but nothing too memorable. More than willing to take account of the pandemic and that it takes time to get back into the swing of it after such a difficult period but tor the money it just didn’t cut it.

Beautiful location and hotel, lots of facilities and lovely decor and ambience. Since opening, staff service in restaurant detracted from our stay, not experienced, and lots of errors. Food when arrived was excellent, just not at the right time for all guests, and too much back and forth. Bedroom was ok, but chair was stained, and devan valance, expected a more for 5 star experience. Management responded but didn't sufficiently manage wait staff to ensure the full experience. I'm sure will improve over time, shame though, as we have been regular visitors for many years.

Our daughter was upset at leaving. She had such an amazing time with Emma in the Kids club. The cleaners where great, normal clean room but siting the teddies up in the morning and putting them in the bed at turn down was a nice touch. We enjoyed horse ridding with Bob and the team. Food was good. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was to the standard you expect. Check in, out was fast and personal. Location was perfect. Swimming pool, playground, kids room all good.

Very nice family holiday in this hotel. Facilities for kids (especially the stables and ponies) were excellent. Food was really nice also. The best family holiday we have had. Room had a spectacular view of the mountains and there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere throughout.

I would not recommend it to couples or individuals looking for a quiet relaxing break. The pool was full of children. Also, we were woken a number of times by a loud group in the floor beneath us partying. So overall it was disappointing, we probably wont be back.

There is no denying that the hotel facilities are fantastic. However service was not as expected... our room was not ready until 4:30 pm, there was no bottled water in our room and finally a stranger accessed our room at 9am in the morning using his room access key..... lovely hotel but just not the expected five star experience unfortunately....

I normally don’t wrote reviews but I just had to write one for this stay. My wife, son and I were so happy with our stay here. Every part of the experience was flawless. The check-in, the room, the restaurant and bar, the pool, playground for my son and everything else. We spent at least 2 hours walking around outside through their fairy trail and farm area petting horses and visiting the Dunloe castle that is on the property. Breakfast was great each morning and finally, they have complimentary horse back riding that my son loved! We would 100% stay there again and most likely will in the future!

This is an amazing hotel and property. Beautiful building in an absolutely gorgeous setting abutting the Killarney National Forest. The common areas are perfect and the staff is wonderful. Great amenities including free horseback riding, fishing, and hikes on the property. The included breakfast is the best I have had as an included perk.
My only negative is that the rooms could be updated a tad, but they were still very clean and comfortable. We had a breathtaking view of the Gap of Dunloe from our room.

Beautiful quiet location. Room was nice and bright with a nice balcony. However didn’t feel there was anything special for a 5 star there was tea making facilities but not even a biscuit. There was 2 bottles of water in fridge. We ate in the restaurant and have to say the burger was a little disappointed. However breakfast which was self service was lovely. There is a lovely 2 km walk around the hotel which we enjoyed and the hotel ponys are lovely to watch when eating in the restaurant. We didn’t avail of the pool but it looked lovely that you would b looking out to mountains while relaxing. We enjoyed our stay and it seems to be very family friendly with a lovely play ground and pony trekking. The staff were very friendly.

My husband and I spent two evenings at The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens. Our room was large, comfortable and nicely appointed. We had a balcony with wonderful views. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a vast nicely presented selection.

Hotel is newly refurbished to an outstanding level. The staff were great and also the food was beautiful. Lots of activities for the kids, indoor play area, kids club, pool and huge outdoor playground. Loads of beautiful light brown horses in the surrounding fields and an unreal view of the gap of Dunloe.

Simply amazing! Spectacular natural setting, great hotel amenities, and probably the best hotel staff at any hotel I have ever stayed at. Every interaction was fantastic. The Dunloe describes itself as Family Friendly, but the staff, the activities (fishing, horseback rides, fairy trail, playground, indoor swimming pool) and the thoughtfulness of the programming (including a free Kids Club, a supervised movie night and an early Kids buffet dinner) made it a really unique stop on our family holdiay. But in delivering this experience, they don't sacrifice the quality of experience for adults. The restaurant and bar were both fantastic as well, the spa was first class and the hiking in the area is famous. I will definitely come back.

It's rated a 5 star hotel, but don't expect 5 star service. We arrived mid week & the hotel was clearly not full. However, we were given a outdated room on the back side of the hotel, with no view of the Dunloe Gap. We asked for a room with a view, and we were told we could move rooms, but for only 2 of our 3 night stay since all rooms with a view were being held for a wedding party staying only 1 night. However, we were assured they would double check in the morning with their Reservation Manger and would let us know.
After a disappointing check in experience, we go to dine in the restaurant. Our server clearly lacked experience. We asked 3 times for a wine list and finally went and retrieved one ourselves. Food and service was marginal.
The following morning we depart the hotel & return late afternoon only to find our hotel room not cleaned. We called the front desk inform them of the dirty room & we also asked if the Reservations Manager was able to accommodate us so we didn't have to move rooms our last night. No one bothered to call us, and we were told we were moving, so we asked to speak to a manager. The manager apologizes for the uncleaned room, and tells us we don't have to move. However, later that night, the GM informs us we are moving rooms. In the end, we pack & ready ALL OUR BAGS to move rooms, only to receive a call after we've already left hotel for the day, that we have to move. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

No one bothered to call us, and we were told we were moving, so we asked to speak to a manager. The manager apologizes for the uncleaned room, and tells us we don't have to move. However, later that night, the GM informs us we are moving rooms. In the end, we pack & ready ALL OUR BAGS to move rooms, only to receive a call after we've already left hotel for the day, that we have to move. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Nothing extra done for 30th wedding anniversary
I felt let down as I mentioned it was a 30th wedding anniversary present when booking. Nothing special or out of the ordinary in room or offered during our stay. They didn't go the extra mile as you would expect with a 5 star hotel.

Stunning setting
Absolutely beautiful grounds and restaurant. It was relaxing and fun to walk around, pet the horses, look at the castle and follow the trails by the creek. We loved it.

Family Friendly Hotel
The venue was fabulous and the facilities for the kids were great and at no extra cost. From the fairy trail to the pony trekking, we could not fault it.
The restaurant was very kid friendly and they showed our son around the kitchen. All in couldn't fault it. Will definitely be back.

Gorgeous hotel but room lacked some amenities
The hotel was lovely but the room lacked a few amenities. There were no robes so we had to call, There were only 2 pillows on the king size bed and we couldn’t figure out how to get the TV to work. It was also unusually warm the night we were there and we wish we’d asked for a fan.

The stay was for three days and two nights at the beautiful and majestic Dunloe Hotel.
The hotel itself and the grounds are stunning! And, the service is top-notch. The decor is classic and comforting but the hotel feels very new.

The Dunloe is located out of town in a magnificent area of large green fields surrounded by mountains. The staff was superb and the rooms very comfortable. Would have liked to stay here a few more days!

We could not have been more pleased. The perfect antidote to the summer crowds in Killarney. Restaurant was good. Pool was lovely. Grounds were beautiful. Animals contributed to the peaceful environment. Would make a special point of staying here on a return trip to Ireland. Two nights was not enough.

Great property close to ring of kerry
Excellent views from room, the property is well maintained and offers horse rides for kids. Nice trail behind the property with horses and cows grazing on the lush green lawns. Staff is friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable about the area.

Oh so relaxed.
We were there for just one night. There was a big wedding on in the hotel the first afternoon. Didn't interfere at all with our relaxing afternoon. Loved it. Would definitely go back.

Wonderful stay
The setting was gorgeous, the staff were so cheerful and helpful, the food was great and the entire building and grounds were perfection. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.
