It was a decent place for a good price in the off season. Strange setup with meandering hallways. I was a bit concerned as it appears the security could be better. I saw a partial bottle of vodka on the window sill near the car park. As with most hotels - they use plastic backed mattress pads and synthetic materials with the bedding that makes you sweat no matter how low you set the room temp.

The check-in staff and housekeeping were friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the room and bathroom were a decent size. The website noted there was a gym and a hot tub. The gym was being redone and not available and they haven't have a hot tub in months, but never updated the website. Also, we were awaken three times one night by the fire alarm. There was no fire, but we were never communicated to and I had to repeatedly call the front desk to find out that someone was smoking in their room. Also, there is no security from the car park into the hotel and kids were fighting in the alley, came into the hotel and were fighting in the hotel. There were also fights and people screaming in the car park. I did not really feel safe and the hotel needs to add badge access for guests from the car park to prevent others from entering the hotel.

great location walkable to shops and restaurants. the room had no ac and was extremely hot in august. we had the window open but it was quite noisy outside at night on a saturday. the lounge in the hotel also got quite noisy on saturday but during the week it was fine. layout was a bit confusing, lots of stairs and winding hallways. clean and historic. the parking was convenient. would recommend.

The room was comfortable and clean. The location was great for the National Park. However, security could be better. I stayed in room 240 and two males knocked on my door at 2.30am looking for their friend who was staying next door. They then came back 9 minutes later. It was then I noticed there wasn't any sort of security camera in the corridors. I would stay again but that incident ruined my nights sleep on the second night.

I was very disappointed as we were given a room that was next to an alley where we listened to the Pubs emptying all their bottles from midnight until 2:00am. There were a lot of people talking until 3:00am.
The room we were given was considered the first floor. We took a lift from the ground floor to the first floor, and then had 4 long halls and 18 stairs to lift our luggage over. The room was very clean, but needed some refurbishment.

The hotel is nicely located. The breakfast was very good and the bed was comfortable. The room was very cold. We were promised an extra heater but it never arrived. Asked for a light bulb to be changed - never happened. Very much overpriced!

The carpet was pulled up in the hallway- nothing was even mentioned to us upon checking in. Got to the room and it was not like it looked in the Expedia photos. Bathtub was dirty. Went to complain and there were no other rooms available and they couldn’t do anything to help us until the morning so we were stuck there. The room was stuffy, they did give is a fan. We had no heat the first night and almost the 2nd night. Manager told staff to tell us 1/2 the building was out. 2nd day maintenance guy came to our room to look at it and said it had been turned off and the staff should have known to look at it the night before or at least offer a portable heater. Manager hid behind his staff. He should have come to talk to us. Poor management!!

Can tell the bathroom toilet hasn't been scrubbed well in a while, can see black mold under rim.

Walk to train station is at least 15 minutes.

Good location to bars and shops.

Older hotel spread over multiple buildings so it's a bit like a maze to get through, lots of up and down small flights of stairs.

Parking for the hotel itself is difficult to find, as access is behind it through another paid lot and a narrow, winding alley. We simply paid rather than risk getting stuck in a tight corner.
Traffic is heavy in the area, but lots of walkability for eats, bars, ice cream, music, shopping, coffee... very close to the National Park!
Staff were very polite, and the bar/restaurant below was isolated enough from our room on the second floor, that we had no issues with noise.
Minor quibble with the ensure bathroom: everything is a bit dated. The tub and shower are narrow and difficult to stand in comfortably (would be unsafe for older folks).
Overall, very satisfied and would recommend.

Parking, if you were lucky to get a spot, was difficult, our room was very cold, floor in our room was very uneven, tub was very tall to climb into and the handheld shower head didn't work. The restaurant was great and if you wanted to walk anywhere in Killarney center, location was good. We would not stay there again.

Staying in the center of town was fun for shopping, dining and bar hopping. There was music both nights in the attached restaurant/bar which was great fun! It’s an older building which we did not mind for quarkiness and our room was lovely and very clean however, the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Our room was at the end of the building and right next to a dance studio (they stopped their practicing by 9:00 pm) which was not the problem. It was the all-night generator next door and the dumping of the empty drink bottles at midnight that also made it difficult to sleep. The morning breakfast was excellent and again, the location was excellent. If you stay, consider asking for a room that is not at the end of the building.

Great location on New Street - right in the heart of all the pubs and restaurants. Close to pick-up locations for bus tours. On the flip side, due to the location in the busy area it was very, very loud at night until about 2am most nights (and this is not in peak summer season). I believe we were at the very end of the floor of rooms, but it sounded like we were next to a club that was blasting bass all night. So just keep that in mind. More dated rooms compared to larger hotels (the bed was pretty worn down, no fridge, limited outlets, etc).

Greeting staff were not helpful in regards to finding parking. The facility is not suited for anyone with mobility problems despite having elevators. We had booked a king size bed room but bed was the size of an American double bed. They did move us to a larger room after I got no sleep the first night..The location is very noisy due to being right downtown and the partying of multiple bars close by interfered with sleep as well. They do have a very nice bar/restaurant with live music every night . Breakfast was included and very nice

The best staff of all the Ireland hotels (I've stayed in a different place every day for over a week so far). Ger went above and beyond. Hard to find people like him, and Amy and Deborah at the desk were great too (not just very pretty faces! ;) ). I got woken up in the middle of the night by the guest next door or it would have been an excellent stay. I only paid 2e to park in the lot next door, so not a big deal

When we arrived we had booked a double room. It only had one bed. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful in switching us to a 2 bed room.
The restaurant had very good food. The staff was exceptionally friendly. We spent an evening in the bar listening to local music and watching young people dance the Irish steps. Enjoyed that very much. The band playing (3 members) were excellent! The bartenders were so nice, too! We highly recommend this hotel. It could not be more conveniently located!

The location was great! If you have issues with stairs be mindful there are a lot. However the signage is very good. The breakfast was amazing! Order the avocado toast! Be mindful they are renovating at the moment.
