About The Brehon
No matter where you are or how beautiful the backdrop – we believe you have to deliver outstanding, genuine service every day. This is what we do. Exceptional surroundings complemented by exceptional service. . . this is The Brehon Way.
The design and decorative inspiration for our award-winning hotel comes from our spectacular setting. The classical detailing of Killarney's stately home, Muckross House, inspired the exterior. While inside, the dappled light and rich green hues of Killarney's ancient oak forests instil a sense of calm.

The staff was so helpful and friendly. My husband needed an eye doctor unexpectedly and they were able to assist us early in the morning. The Spa was fantastic, we used the facilities every day. We lived it. And the room was so very nice. They even had both a blow dryer and flat iron for your hair. Loved it.
Karen
The whole experience was delightful. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and comfortable. Food was delicious. My only complaint was the small size of the shower. The spa is the perfect end to a day walking or cycling around the park.
Jane
Lovely hotel very accommodating staff the room was
Clare
Great staff and super facilities.
Brid
Plenty of free parking onsite. Can walk into Killarney town in 20 minutes. Lovely walking trails nearby
Jim
This property was outstanding! Room was great and the hotel provided more value than the price. Breakfast was outatanding.
James
I really enjoyed my four-night stay at the Brehon. The room was very clean, quiet, and spacious, with comfortable amenities. Plenty of outlets to charge my electronics and the bathroom was generously large. I had one minor glitch with the climate control. It was set to air-conditioning mode but the weather outside was unseasonably cool. I called the front desk and they quickly changed it remotely so that I could turn on the heat. I liked the complimentary Irish breakfast. Everyone I talked to on the staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was easy. I would definitely stay here again.
Janet
Loved the location quite yet walking distance to town. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely.
William
Great staff, great food and great location.
Deirdre
The Brehon is a fab hotel, arrived for a two night stay and was upgraded to a fantastic suite, did not want to leave. It was a fantastic start to my roadtrip!! Staff were so nice and helpful I could not have asked for better. Great food and good vibes😊
Loretta
Beautiful property! Very well appointed, access to saunas and pools. Full breakfast included. Several fireplaces to have drinks.
Mary
The room was spacious and very comfortable bed. Liked the amenities in the room. The spa was lovely really enjoyed the oil, sauna and steamroom. The food was good especially breakfast and enjoyed dinner. Great location very best time centre and Killarney races.
Sara
The rooms were so spacious and clean! Great coffee and tea selection. Comfortable and big bed with great linens. The spa was ok, as the sauna and steam room were not very hot! Everything else was perfect!! Walkable to town for supper and drinks!
Joan

The spa area is incredible, it's close to Muckross and Ross Castle, the views are great from the rooms, the staff are lovely
Michael
This is a tough review since our previous stay was at a 5 star hotel. Facility was nice but parking was scarce, even though the hotel is in an open area. The rooms was clean, but nothing special. We didn’t partake in any spa treatments. I liked the lobby and dining room. Overall a decent hotel, just nothing extravagant.
Roxanne
Beautiful room staff kind and helpful. More morning coffee options..
Erin
Spa was wonderful and our room was even better than expected!!!
Stephanie
Breakfast is great with a good amount of buffet items and the option of made to order items. Timing could be earlier, especially for those who want to get an early start on exploring the ring of Kerry. Shower is a little cramped. Plenty of storage for items. Hair dryer was provided with attachments, as well as a hair straightener which is uncommon.
Claire
Our stay was a wonderful experience to celebrate a special wedding anniversary. The Heritage Suite was an indulgence, that we so enjoyed, including using the musical kettle. The breakfasts were superb with a huge choice of food. The whole stay was topped off by a daily visit to the Spa. The staff were so friendly & helpful.
The only criticism was that the potatoes in the Irish stew we had one night in the Bar, were not cooked properly.

Absolutely marvellous. Everything was perfect. Room was spotlessly clean, modern and comfortable. Staff were the best. The breakfast was delicious and there were lots of options to choose from.

Our stay at the Brehon was 10/10 - such a great venue to meet up with family. We had family members travel down from Cork to meet with us - the lobby has lots of sofas in front of beautiful fireplaces where we could gather. Then we had fabulous meals in the Bar restaurant.
Deirdre
The hotel and its amenities exceeded expectations. The room had so much character and the pool and spa were an added bonus.
John
Great room very comfortable
Cliona
From the moment we arrived the hotel i.pressed us. It is luxurious and clean from reception to the bar and restaurant areas and the rooms. There was a short queue to check in when we arrived but the staff were very efficient and we did not have to wait long. At check in they advised that they had upgraded us to one of their newly renovated rooms for no additional charge. The room was gorgeous. It has a huge balcony, a dressing area, seating area and very spacious bathroom. There was also a superking size bed. Weate in the bar the first night and it did not disappoint. Our whole stay was relaxing and exactly what we hoped for. Breakfast was delicious with a very good variety of options including vegan options.
Chris
Bed was very comfortable and staff very friendly at breakfast.
Keith
Fabulous Hotel. Room was very spacious and clean and loved the decor.
Sharon
Staff were lovely.
Ambience amazing.
Facilities & spay amazing.
Been here every year for past 5 years, superb.
Only complaint was the room this year. For some reason we were given a room to accommodate disabled. The bathroom was poorly refurbed, looking bodged and tatty. A half hearted job.
Bathroom constantly cold to boot.
Shame because the standards are hi here and this room was below parr, the bathroom by far.
That said we hope to be back next year but I'll be specific with future rooms.

Room was lovely. A heritage room. Hair straightner, robe and slippers. 4th floor. Very quiet. Dinner pre show in Gleneagle was only OK. Chose wine instead of complimentary prosecco and the staff kindly gave this instead. Very polite staff. Bar slightly slow to order in at night. Christmas decor amazing throughout.

The hotel has a lovely setting, easily walkable to the town and the national park. The spa is good and the breakfast plentiful. Some of the staff seemed a little harassed, though still friendly. The rooms were a good size but a little tired

The service is wonderful! Every staff member we interacted with provided above and beyond assistance! They provided timely updates on our room availability as we were several hours earlier arriving than expected. We really appreciated the extra effort after a long day of travel.

The Brehon Hotel was a lovely place to stay. I wish we could have stayed another night. The rooms were superb - comfortable, well appointed, quiet and spacious. The bed and bedding were extremely comfortable and the bathrobe was plush and relaxing.
The staff at the check-in desk were fantastic - friendly, helpful, efficient. Parking was abundant and convenient.
We enjoy walking around town and this was ~20-25 minute walk from town, but was an easy walk for dinner. It was very close to a bike rental place so we rented bikes and rode all through Killarney National Park.
I would highly recommend the Brehon as a lovely place to start and/or finish your journey through Killarney and the Ring of Kerry.

Very nice hotel, unfortunately the lady at the check-in desk was on the phone and had me wait 10 minutes before acknowledging me.
The room was very nice but the water wasn’t draining in the bath tub.

Everything at The Brehon was excellent. The staff was very attentive and for the most part courteous. The staff in the bar/restaurant wasn't as customer focused and were either new or need training.

Gorgeous Hotel with a Fantastic Staff
The hotel is absolutely lovely! I had high tea and it was delicious! The staff were very friendly, in particular Sinead, who was the night front desk attendant. They made you feel like you were coming home after a long days journey. The location is stunning and perfect for exploring the area. The bed was so comfortable.

This hotel was amazing! The staff were very nice and accommodating when we needed to check-in early and when we had issues with our hotel cards. The pool in the spa was really nice as well. It is a farther walk from the town center and the bed was really firm. Overall it was a great spot for our trip to Killarney!

We had a fantastic stay at the Brehon. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We availed of the vitality suite facilities and the gym. Our room was perfect, extremely comfortable and had a hair dryer, iron, tea/coffee making facilities.
We also had dinner in the bar which was lovely and great cocktails!
Breakfast the next morning was also excellent - we had a menu to order from and could avail of a buffet.
We really enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return!
