From check in to check out, our stay at the lake hotel was wonderful, very helpful and friendly staff, our room was so spacious with excellent facilities. The entire hotel was very clean. I absolutely love The Lake Hotel. My daughter lives in Skibbereen, Ireland and this was my first visit to Killarney. She highly recommended it and I am so glad she did. This will become a new tradition of ours to stay a few nights at the Lake Hotel for our little mom and daughter getaway! The staff was amazing. The breakfast was exceptional. The lakeview deluxe room was beautiful. The views are incredible and I found peace every evening sitting outside listening to the sounds of nature. Just lovely.

Hotel was beautiful, stunning setting with gorgeous views across the lake and mountains. Staff were all professional, friendly and made a huge amount of effort to ensure that we had a great stay. Food was excellent in both bistro and the restaurant again made more special looking out across the national park. Our room was clean and comfy, with all the amenities you require.

Gorgeous historic property right in the national forest on a lake. It felt like we were part of a special Irish tradition staying there. The thermal suite was outstanding and we loved every minute of our stay. This was our favorite spot of our whole trip.

The negative was we had previously requested a room facing the lake and they had not planned for it. Since the property was full we were unable to have any view. Must say we were disappointed as we had booked months in advance.

This hotel came highly recommended and it did not disappoint us. Be sure to book some time in the spa, and take a walk to the castle ruins. If you’re lucky some deer will greet you by the edge of the lake.

I loved it felt like a resort and everyone was very helpful. Beautiful lake view from room and at breakfast and nice short walk to see castle ruins. Breakfast was great but I loved dinner more. We ate at the bar (the dining room was booked) and it was incredible. The desserts were out of this world yummy! The waiter ask us our next day plan and even recommended some stops. Wish we had stayed more nights. Best hotel in our Ireland trip hands down.

Hotel is situated on a stunning piece of property. The views from the restaurant / bar and patio area were absolutely gorgeous, with the lake and mountains in the background as well as the properties own little ruin. We spent hours enjoying the views. The location is great, being right on the edge of Killarney National Park. The hotel actually is close enough to hike directly into Killarney National Park. Can walk to Muckross Abbey in about 30 minutes. From there you can walk / hike to Muckross House and Torc Waterfall. Was fairly easy for us to drive the Ring of Kerry and also Slea Head Drive. Were able to take in the views at every meal and the staff always made every effort to seat you right by a window, if possible. The food overall was good to very good, with a fairly expansive breakfast buffet. The room was very nice - clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff was so friendly and helpful. When one of our 3rd party bookings for a boat trip fell through they were able to book us on the Gap of Dunloe tour at the last minute. The tour was great and saved our day. Wish we could have squeezed time to try out the thermal spa. Looked so nice and so relaxing. Parking right at the hotel was nice to have. Couldn't recommend the hotel highly enough.

My husband and I just returned home after a wondering week long trip to Ireland. I want to share a 5 star review of The Lake Hotel in Killarney! Wow did they impress us! It was absolutely worth splurging slightly for a room. The view from our room was spectacular, the restaurant served the best food and cocktails we had the whole trip, and the staff/service was unmatched. We felt like royalty! When we shared that it was our honeymoon, the surprised us with chocolates and a print waiting on our bed!

If you’re staying in Killarney, i would highly recommend the Lake Hotel!

This hotel has one of the best mountain views in all of Killarney. It's located off the town center about 1.5 miles, so it's not a super easy walk to town, but doable if the weather is ok. The interior is full of antique furnishings and memoribilia from the hotel over the years. The bar is welcoming and bright and the Bistro restaruant has good food and service andd great views of the mountains. We did not eat at the main dining room. The lodging areas are a bit tired and dated, but I find this pretty typical in Ireland. I did not find this to be a huge negitive, however. It's just part of the charm. Most of the rooms (but not all) have Lake Views. You'll want one for sure. Killarney is a lovely part of Ireland and a good jumping off spot to so many tourist spots. It's my favorite place to stay. I'd recommend if you are in Killarney to try to stay at The Lake Hotel at least a few nights. The view is worth it.

We loved our stay here. The breakfast buffet was excellent, the rooms were cozy, the view was amazing, and the staff were friendly. Our only complaints were that the sink either had super hot water or super cold water so no adjusting the temperature and that the rooms lacked AC so we had to throw a fan they provided in the window at night to make the room a decent temperature. Otherwise, we will be back!

I cannot say enough, good things about the lake hotel! From the minute, you walk in the front desk… Catherine greeted us with a smile and was helpful every step of the way. Our room was spectacular… I would highly recommend the Lakeview room… Request the upper floor floors, we had 338. It was amazing!

Daria gave us helpful tips on driving the ring of Kerry and also to dingle

We had dinner both nights in the pub. The staff was pleasant and helpful… Alex, the bartender was particularly entertaining, and we enjoyed his company.

The food in the pub was spectacular… I don’t know how it could’ve been any better in the restaurant. But I would highly recommend just popping into the pub and try some of the appetizers.

We were able to walk the property… Until the rain started… And enjoyed watching dear wander in the mornings

I would recommend spending at least two nights at this location just so you can absorb everything. The property has to offer. Truly a beautiful location the rooms were appointed with everything we needed… Great linens, a lovely shower and extra pillows!

My husband mentioned to the concierge that it was my birthday, and Catherine had goodies delivered to our room while we were at dinner, such a beautiful touch!

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the thermal suite after travelling from Australia and a week of performances at the Cork Choral Festival. The whole visit was exactly what we needed. Beautiful and peaceful location on the lake near Killarney. There is a castle ruins on the grounds and with a luck you will see some deer...we did.

Room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly, breakfast was great with plenty of choices to meet everyones needs. The concierge was very helpful with sightseeing recommendations. This is the perfect location for the Ring of Kerry.

We absolutely loved our stay at Lake Hotel Killarney. Our room was wonderful, and the view of the lake was incredible—such a peaceful way to start and end the day.

Breakfast each morning was top notch with plenty of great options. It was the perfect way to fuel up before exploring the area. The hotel also has several comfortable sitting areas throughout the property, which makes it easy to relax and enjoy the scenery. In the evenings, there’s entertainment in the bar starting around 9:30 pm, which was a really nice touch.

One of the best parts of the entire experience was the thermal suites. They were absolutely fantastic and a perfect way to relax after a day of exploring. It truly elevated the stay and made the visit feel even more special.

One of our favorite parts was the beautiful walk around the lake right outside the hotel. It’s a must-do while you’re there.

If you’re visiting in March, be prepared for warm interiors. The hotel keeps the heat up and often has fireplaces going, so it can get quite cozy inside. We found it much more comfortable wearing lighter clothing like T-shirts and using layers for when you head outside.

Overall, a fantastic stay with beautiful views, great food, and a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend!
