This hotel is amazing! We had a short but excellent stay here! The property is so beautiful, location is great, and the staff were so welcoming, nice, and caring! Joann with the restaurant made us feel like home and we enjoyed her attitude and grace. The food was also excellent. Definitely want to come back and stay here longer! Also the park is close by and so are all the amazing restaurants and sites.

We loved our stay here - the rooms were very large and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. So many nice things personal touches upon check in and during our stay. The staff was very attentive and the location can’t be beat! Parking close by and access to a health center nearby. We would definitely stay again.

This beautiful hotel is both charming and luxurious. Guests may feel like they have taken a step back in time while also enjoying exceptional modern comforts and amenities The location is near multiple shops, pubs and restaurants. Our room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the modern bathroom even contained a heated towel bar! I would definitely stay here again!

We had a lovely stay here. The personalized touches-- a welcome whiskey tasting, a handwritten note in the hotel room, water, turndown services, and friendly staff- were all appreciated. We would absolutely stay here again, and recommend that anyone visiting Killarney do the same.
If you eat at their restaurant, try the duck. You'll thank me later.

This was my favorite hotel of my entire trip. I have to compliment Valeria (concierge) at this hotel. She is the most helpful concierge I have ever come across. No request was too much. This hotel was maybe a three-minute walk from the train station and certainly not far from many dining and shopping options. The room was beautiful except for some water damage spots on the ceiling, but I would DEFINITELY stay here again.

The room we were given -- the \"King Royal Suite -- was a dark, dingy, two-room nightmare. The windows were blocked and etched, so we were unable to see out Upon opening the window sill, pigeon poop was everywhere. There was no screen to keep window open.
This hotel is misrepresented on the internet. It is 3 stars at best, and the staff is the best part. They are friendly, helpful, wililng and upbeat. Th 440 euros! What a waste. But Michael and Nicole were eager to make it right and offered us compensations. Still, I wonder why this hotel is being advertised as a 4-Star when it is badly in need up an update!

3 nights in January in Killarney

After researching hotels in Killarney, we decided to stay at the Killarney Royal. We were not disappointed. Parking is off site (about a block away), and free. The lobby was perfect for cold nights by the fireplace with a glass of wine or Irish Whiskey. The food at the restaurant was delicious. We really enjoyed meeting Veronica our first night. She was a wealth of information as far as where to go and what to see. There's a coffee shop around the corner called The Shire that I'd suggest for breakfast/lunch. We will definitely be back!

While taking a road trip through Southern Ireland, we were lucky enough to stay at the Killarney Royal Hotel. I have never left a review on this site, but felt the need to after our experience at the hotel. Veronica was without question amazing. Upon our arrival, she gave us perfect recommendations for our evening — activities, shops, and restaurants throughout the town. All of them were exactly what we were hoping for during our visit. However, upon our return that evening, we were able to chat with Veronica (during a quiet period downstairs) about our trip and experiences thus far and our goals for the remainder. Veronica listened to our goals and helped us draft up an itinerary for the remainder of our road trip. The following morning, when we went to check out, she even gave us a handwritten list of the itinerary with notes and recommendations. We can not thank Veronica and the Killarney Royal Hotel for the amazing experience we had. Over the course of the road trip, we traveled approximately 1,000 km in our loop of Southern Ireland and stayed at many hotels, but our stay at the Killarney Royal Hotel was the best. It was clean, personable, memorable, but most importantly the customer service we received from Veronica was without question a highlight. You can tell she loves her job and is incredibly good at it.

Not quite as good as the pictures

I'm really hoping our room was just an exception to the norm, as it wasn't as nice as the pictures... No carpeting, the windows were facing another building and incredibly dirty so not much natural light (they covered one with fake vines to make it look a bit more appealing). There was also a really strong smell of sewage coming from our bathroom. The building was also built in the early 1900s so the floors on the level above us creaked pretty loudly from other guests. The service was great though and the bed was large and comfortable. I do wish I had paid a bit more to stay at one of their partner hotels though (Killarney Towers or Killarney Plaza).

Had a short stay here on our trip. Unfortunately after a long day of traveling and a short night out. Returned to our room where we found the bed sheets where badly stained. New sheets where given and changed!
The next morning the manager Alex apologized saying that this was unacceptable and give a discount on the stay. (Excellent manager!)
With all that said and covid going on this kind of thing should never have been missed.

The property was really lovely - gorgeous at Christmas. Sitting room is comfortable with a nice fireplace. The AM and PM receptionists were fabulous - very helpful. Big room! Super close to stores - easy walking around town.
Only complaints are that a fire alarm went off around 5 AM (false alarm) and it the hotel is right on the street. The garbage trucks were picking up trash REALLY early so sleeping in was not an option. Overall - highly recommend.

Sloppy Mistakes For A Suite!

The hotel is in a great location and is very close to the train station. upon arrival the receptionist was very nice and helpful, offering advice on things to do in Killarney for the afternoon.

We stayed in the junior suite, so I expected the room to be of a very high standard in terms of cleanliness. unfortunately, this was not the case. the room has some issues with the wallpaper as it seems damp in places. under one of the windowsils, there was a pile of material which had fallen from the curtains. it was very obvious and peculiar that the cleaners had missed it.

furthermore, the bedsheets had blood stains on it, as well as the pillowcase. this was very disappointing as you expect much better in the suite.

overall we enjoyed this room and hotel. however, i would be hesitant to stay there again due to some sloppy mistakes in a suite.

It is a tourist location...

The hotel and room were nice but we found the town to have too many tourists and tour groups for our liking.

It is somewhat difficult if you are driving your own car. The parking lot is about two blocks away near a sister hotel. Since there is limited parking in front of the hotel dropping off luggage was a challenge.

We used the note as a base for touring the Ring of Kerry and The area around Killarney. It was perfect for that.

Breakfast way over priced for a “ Fred Hampton Inn” type breakfast.
Must be an Irish thing but this was the eighth hotel we stayed in that the bed was old and worn out.

My Favorite hotel of all 5 I stayed in

Such a unique and intimate hotel. With only 30 rooms you definitely get the full attention of staff with enjoying the historical feel of the hotel. Front desk receptionist was soooo help from the minute we stepped in. John the Security Guard was the best. He helped us to plan out the best way to spend the rest of our trip and the front desk helped us find good places to eat and drink. So close to Killarney National Park and bars/restaurants/store. Spent so much in Quills store close to the hotel and do not regret it or this stay one bit. I WILL BE BACK!!!

The Killarney Royal is an excellent boutique hotel in the center of Killarney. It is relatively small, but beautifully done and very charming. Our room was HUGE! It was modern and very comfortable. The staff was excellent, especially Billy who made us a drink and gave us excellent advise and entertainment. I would definitely stay at the Royal on my next trip to Ireland.
For those driving to Killarney, there is a car park directly across the street from the hotel.

Our stay at the Killarney Royal was great. I loved the building style and the seating area in the main room. There was a wonderful bar area and the breakfast was great with juices and treats. I personally had to have some help and the staff went above and beyond to provide me with help. The location is great and you can walking the whole city centre. If you have a car the parking is not too far of a walk at their sister resort across the street.

We stayed at the hotel a total of four nights - two nights on our own and two nights as part of a tour. We found the hotel comfortably elegant. The rooms were large, the common areas well appointed and the staff extremely friendly but also very professional and courteous. When we returned for the second time the following week with our tour, we were welcomed back like old friends.
