The staff were lovely and the food was absolutely delicious. We got a free toom upgrade which was a really thoughtful touch and was so appreciated. Some recommendations- the room was a little cold and took some time to heat up. As well as this, the temperature of the swimming pool was quite cool ttoo.

\nWonderful Staff! Elegant Hotel! Incredible views

We stayed for three nights at the Aghadoe Heights Hotel and Spa while visiting Ireland for our milestone anniversary trip. I can not say enough about the gorgeous views of the Killarney National Park from our hotel balcony! We could have stayed for a month and not gotten tired of the beautiful lake and mountain scenery! There was a bit of miscommunication between hotel.com and the front desk about our reservation but we were able to get the lakeside room we had specifically booked thanks to the helpful check-in staff. Julio at the front desk also offered free mocktails at the restaurant for our anniversary which was very nice of him (as we didn’t drink the Prosecco usually offered to couples).

The hotel and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. Each day, the breakfast buffet and selections from the a la carte menu were varied and delicious. One evening we ate at the Heights Lounge and Piano bar and the other two evenings we explored the town of Killarney and ate at a Kebab place and the Genting Thai restaurant. We also hired a private tour driver Mary G to take us to the Ring of Kerry which was a wonderful experience. Overall, we enjoyed the hotel for its service as well as its wonderful location and recommend it wholeheartedly. Thank you.

Superb. Such a calm hotel even though it was fairly fully occupied. We had a wonderful room with balcony overlooking the lake. The bed was so comfortable. Great bathroom too. Excellent food. We ate in the Lake Restaurant where service, presentation and food were first class. Also ate in the bar restaurant which also was of a high standard. We will be back here again

Best hotel we stayed at in Ireland

We were so excited for our stay here and it was a great experience start to finish! By far the nicest hotel we stayed at during our road trip around Ireland. The room with the lake view was absolutely incredible. This is a great location for visiting Killarney (very easy to drive to if you have a rental car). Even walking around the grounds is beautiful. It was relaxing & scenic.

Our service at the bar at the end of the night was sub-par (slow service + a lot of dirty tables not being cleaned off). The breakfast included was top notch - high quality & great offerings - don't miss breakfast!

For US-based travelers though I would caution the 5-star rating as it is a bit different than a 5 star US hotel. It was still clean & very nice with upgraded amenities vs other hotels we stayed at in Ireland, but it a bit dated.

Management at its best.

The best hotel stay in a long time thanks to manager Brian Budhlaeir. Our suite was so spacious, comfortable, clean and homely. It even had a christmas tree. There was live music on the piano during dinner, mulled wine and games. The atmosphere in the Aghadoe was so relaxing and we cannot wait to return.

From Esther greeting me when I arrived to John helping me leave through the snow I had a fantastic trip. Aside from the quality of the rooms and the stunning views everything was top tier. The food, breakfast and dinner was amazing and the breakfast buffet was delicious and varied. I had a spa treatment while there and it was up there with one of the best massages I’ve had. Anna communicated brilliantly and was very attentive and a lovely person. I will be back for sure.

The Aghadoe Heights has everything one wants/needs in a hotel: gorgeous surroundings, super-friendly and efficient staff, quiet, spacious rooms and the best breakfast any hotel can offer. We spent more money on other hotels that were not comparable to the services at the Aghadoe. The Aghadoe is the best hotel we stayed at in our 9 day trip across Ireland. We would easily stay here again. Everything was superb!

We loved this hotel from the time we stepped foot in the door! We got upgraded to a suite, which was beautiful and very spacious! The bed was very comfy and always appreciate a chocolate on the bed at night when coming back from a long day exploring! The breakfast was very good. The hotel is about a 10 minute drive to center of town but the hotel offers a shuttle, which was a bonus! I would definitely come back again. Great family stay in Killarney

We loved the resort. Rooms were really nice, bedding high quality and comfortable. Temperature control worked really well. The concierges were extremely helpful and very friendly, and all front desk personnel were very friendly. The service felt very personal. Only negatives were the service at the breakfast buffet one morning (one person), and the workout room could be updated/enhanced a bit. Would definitely recommend the resort, though. Parking easy, location really convenient, the town of Killarney was nearby and really enjoyable.

We had an outstanding stay ! The customer service was absolutely amazing. Really felt the 5 star service. Breakfast was the nicest one I’ve had I think ever . Really enjoyed. I would like to mention Brendan in particular who was very helpful and kind helping us to get in to the town also. Thanks to all for an amazing stay.

Our room had a beautiful view of lakes, mountains and green pastures. The room was spacious with two comfortable beds. He staff was very friendly and helpful. Helped me when I had trouble with a train booking. There was a free shuttle to city centre that we used a couple of times.

Extremely disappointing

The hotel is very far outside of Killarney. There is no courtesy shuttle as advertised - I was told quite rudely at the reception when I checked in that the website was wrong and there was noone to drive the courtesy vehicle I had seen in the carpark. The gentleman in concierge (Brendan) then appeared and very kindly offered to take us into town. The spa and leisure facilities are tired - not 5 star. The views are beautiful but only if you are in a higher floor room. We were on the 1st floor and the room was extremely dark, with views of the road, not the lakes, even though we checked in early and asked would we have a view of the lakes - receptionist again quite rudely told me no - hotel is fully booked. I asked about the amenities - what bars / restaurants were available - I was told the bell boy would tell me all of that information.
I would definitely reconsider the front of house staff for first impressions - it put a real dampener on our arrival. Drinks in the bar - very expensive and no real atmosphere. Nice views. Restaurant and bar staff very friendly, John & Brendan in concierge deserve a special thank you. Hotel is fine - not a great location for visiting Killarney, and not the type of hotel you would stay in during the day.

Great hotel

The hotel is gorgeous, we were upgraded for free to a suite as it was off season. The room over looked a graveyard but that didn't bother us. You could also see an incredible lake and mountain view behind. The thermal suite in the spa is incredible. The swimming pool is spacious and warm with a lovely jacuzzi. All staff are very friendly. We stayed two nights b&b. The cooked breakfast on the first morning was disappointing but the second morning was good. Everything else was top class. Great place to treat yourself.

Not a five star standard. Spa was very good but food was very poor in the main restaurant service was shocking staff not trained properly shouldn’t have opened with until they were ready. Shower not working properly very disappointing overall. Won’t be going back

Spent 800 euro for two nights incl breakfast for 5 star experience and got a 3 star experience. Breakfast ingredients and service and cleanliness was terrible. Room had furniture and fittings that were in very poor condition. Would not recommend to anyone as a 5 star hotel

5 star views, 2 star restaurant/bar area and food. Shouldn’t be classified as 5 star, everyone around us was complaining about the food. You have about 4 options in the restaurant. If you ask for a cocktail the staff panic and call for one guy that does them. They proceed to bright out and instruction manual and say they will have a go. Then hand it to you to ask if it tastes ok. That’s fine in a pub but not a 5 star hotel at €15 min per cocktail. I honestly think they had forgot to put any alcohol in it. On another night they actually forgot to send food to our room.

Aghadoe Heights is a true 5 star stay

Staff were amazing, room was amazing, spa was amazing. Kitchen was trying new things with food - most of it was exceptional, especially the chowder and calamari. Pork was a bit dry but no upset was caused. 10/10 stay.
