Very friendly and helpful staff. We were able to check in early which was appreciated.
The pool was very nice. Appreciated the shuttle boat and used it several times.
The food in the restaurant was good. Breakfast was good but it was a little confusing where to find things as the buffet was spread over several rooms. Perhaps as guests arrive for breakfast a staff member could explain the layout.
No housekeeping provided- perhaps you need to request it. If so, explain this to guests.

The reception staff was excellent.tbe check in was smooth. Got help from the bagagiste. There was adequate free parking for our rented car. The lunch from the Japanese sextion was absolutely delightful. Going tk Caudan was very easy due to the free water taxi

Whilst I would stay here again because of the location near Caudon Waterfront but not in it, and the helpfulness of staff I had reservations about my stay. Check in very poor - shown to a room already occupied. Food at Dinner quite slow to arrive and then not hot. Also wine prices in the bar excessively high for the quality of wines served compared to other bars and nearby hotel.

The room had roaches. The breakfast was decent, but service was lacking as tables didn’t all have silverware. Egg station hit or miss. You have to request coffees, no one comes around. Decent variety. Checkin/out pleasant enough, but noticed they didn’t ask how everything was because the night before there was a loud party till 2 am right outside below us. Location was excellent. You are a short walk from waterfront and grocery.

Spacious rooms, well located with friendly staff.
Unfortunately, the hotel is very tired. Towels and bed linens are gray and worn. We found the hotel spa is dirty, including the esthetician’s uniforms. The hotel has loads of potential but is in dire need of a facelift.

The hotel had booked a loud large concert outside hotel room from 5 pm- 2am. Music and guests were very loud and it was difficult to sleep!! We complained and were moved to another slightly quieter room. They were doing loud sound checks all afternoon prior to the event with over 300 people in attendance.
We should have been informed of this when our booking was made.
Breakfast and location were excellent.

A free water taxi takes you to an outdoor shopping mall with some premium stores as well as local crafts. Several restaurants and more touristy souvenir shops as well. Did not try the light rail station nearby. A nice hotel away from the noise and bustle of the city yet close enough to walk to most attractions.

Gorgeous hotel beautifully situated in the Marina within 5min walk to beautiful shops and cafes.
Staff are so friendly and helpful. Food is great but could do with more Vegetarian options.
Only one problem for me - NO LIFT but lots of Stairs.

Roons are very clean. If any little thing is wrong it is corrected straight away by housekeeping. Staff in the restaurant are welcoming, attentive, and friendly. Excellent spa, great masseurs Neehar and others. The hotel could think about updating showers and some towels are no longer brilliant white, bit grey, but very clean. The water taxi was not available one day as it was being serviced there is a bridge open in the day by the aquarium.

Ants in the property. Despite having a ktchen couldnt leave anything downstairs as ants would circulate. Downstairs toilet ants coming out of the sink. Staff said it is normal as rats are also common despite the price you pay. As if you should just deal with it since they already got your money.

Problem with ants was told they will sort it out. Then left the ant spray for me to deal with. Didn't book a holiday to be an exterminator. Ridiculous. Manager had an attitude as well thought i couldn't understand creole then tried to act \"nice\" in my face. Two faced fake.

Blocked sink. Manager had a huff and puff but, eventually was sorted.

Water taxi stops inconvenient times. Works until mid afternoon then put a sign up for the rest of the day. Yoy only know if it works or not if you exit the main entrance everyday to get a taxi. They mention to use a bridge but has restricted hours. Otherwise if you go out at night you walk along a dark private road around 20mins from caudan waterfront which is unsafe due to no lighting or people nearby.

They act nice once they have your money but, when a problem occurs they get in a strop giving attitiude.

I wouldnt recommend this hotel too many inconveniences for the price you pay. Looks nice but, just a hassle not worth it.

One night stay for business.
Room’s got the damp coastal smell to them (I guess the carpets never really get dry). Bathrooms are tired and could do with a modernization.
Location convenient if got meetings in CBD. Very peaceful considering in middle of the city.

The location is safe and private. To reach the central shopping district, there is a convenient water taxi that transports passengers from the hotel to the waterfront. From the waterfront, you can walk to the busy city center and explore.

The Hotel was not busy , yet it was always difficult getting served. The hotel hosted a Private function on our second night that took up the entire wharf area. We were able to sit in the area. There wasn’t any restaurant service that evening. We had to leave the hotel for diner. The music was very loud and continued well past 2am. The hotel did leave a notice in our room the morning of apologizing in advance for the anticipated loud music.This event was not a last minute event. We should have been notified prior to our stay allowing us to make changes .

My husband entered the bathroom of our room and he handle fell off , trapping him in the bathroom I had to call twice before someone came .This was fixed by 5:25.At7 on our way to dinner I stopped by the desk to express surprise that no one had checked on us, said they were sorry, and was told they meant too but were very busy we were given a transfer to the ship( which was not better than waiting for the free bus, and I drink which I declined. The individual servers were nice but napkins were hard to find, coffee at breakfast a rare commodity. Yes they were extremely busy with cruise ships debarking and embarking , but this wasn't a surprise. Close to the port and harborside center but if I am sure here are other hotels

Our apartment were cleaned every day the two ladies Jamie and (so sorry ) can't remember her name
The chefs Jonathan Charles came over personally to address and issue we had and his assitance were a hand to solve the issue we had thank you to the amazing food and breakfast ,and all the the waiters were very helpful and we couldn't have asked for anything else, spa were amazing most day were felted very relax specially to eloon for helping with an issues

The hotel is fairly nice, but makes attempts at luxury at the sacrifice of quality service. For example, it is extremely difficult to get prompt service at almost all meals because staff are often dismissive and absent, but they'll correct you on the proper use of a butter knife. The food is fairly good. The outdoor bar service is prompt.

I stayed for a week and my room was only cleaned once - the same wad of hair and pieces of small plastic were never vacuumed from the carpet.

Last, on the final Friday of my stay, the bar BLASTED music until past 23:00. Even with earplugs the bass reverberated around my room, disrupting my sleep. There were no posts or clear communication warning that this was to occur that evening.

I'm sure the hotel will respond to this review with a \"we are deeply sorry and will fix this\" message, however, looking back on the years of similar, negative reviews, the service ill probably continue as I experienced it.

Greeted by a completely disinterested receptionist. Shown to room along a brightly lit but rather damp smelling ground floor corridor. Room ok, no view, overlooking the hotel car park but looks freshly refurb'd.
Bathroom definitely needing attention with shower cubicle noticeably mouldy, a sink plug that doesn't work, a toilet handle broken, light bulb out.
The advertised water taxi for whatever reason wasn't on so either a walk, or a bumpy ride by road to the adjacent marina shops.
These are small points but at the price point charged they are important.
Aside from breakfast we had some rather bland bar snacks in a very (very) loud hotel bar with DJ. Found a much better local place to eat in town the following night.
Sent a letter the night before to 'remind' us to check out no later than midday!
Check out process chaotic with a cruise departure being delayed. The booked taxi by reception never turned up and despite paying at time of booking, have today received an email asking for payment.
Unfortunately on this occassion, a below average stay.

Didn’t like the extremely noisy parties they have every weekend . Didn’t like that the air condition was erratic. Didn’t like that they advertise shuttle boat service that they never offered. Didn’t like that the mobile devices didn’t charge properly . Didn’t like the limited ala carte menue they offered. They room rates are exorbitant but they pale beside their sister hotel which is not much more rate wise.

Looking very tired

Rates alga be doubled since my visit last year. So certainly not value for money. Hotel is tired- rooms and particularly the bathrooms look 20 years old. At check in, was told to wait 5 minutes while they check the room. Surely the room was checked before. Even after the check somebodies old dirty sock was under the bed and a used plastic water bottle.
Location is convenient for meetings in the city.
Took ferry to waterfront in evening. When I returned it was not operating, so had to walk back along road in the dark.
I have been staying at this hotel for last few years, but think I need to find somewhere a bit fresher and better value.

As being repeatedly overcharged by staff, there was some sort of bug in my bedsheets - I think it could have been a bedbug as I have never known such an intensity of bites, the front of staff told me that it was in fact ants. There was no kind of apology at all for the inconvenience that caused and then significant impact that that number of bites had on the rest of my holiday/

The photos of the hotel do not match to reality. I was surprised when i didn't find a beach and pool was very small🙈 if you want yo go the beach you have to take taxi and go very far from this area.

But i am very grateful to the staff for the late check out as my flight was very late. I am very grateful for all the help they gave me!

Very nice hotel, too bad my check in experience was so positive, nor was interaction with the concierge person.......negative first impression. Arrived early and had to wait for room which was expected. When I was checked in, no hotel information provided by reception, none in room either. Fortunately, there were many other helpful staff members available to assist. Location is very central to waterfront and complimentary water taxi provided. Morning breakfast very satisfying and plenty of variety. Despite the rough start, the stay was extremely pleasant.

Stayed at this hotel many times and have never been disappointed. Quite unbelievably they have a happy hour on a Friday evening that goes on till 1:30am. My room was overlooking the area. While I did receive a letter warning me about noise, it was absurd to imagine they’re running a hotel like this. Did not sleep a wink all night. Most upsetting

I booked one of the apartments and it was excellent. 2 levels and very roomy with a nice view. Well equipped kitchen. he drinks were very expensive. Even during happy hour it was £4 for a beer with 50% off.
Convenient boat takes you 20 metres across the harbour to save a long walk to the centre.I would certainly stay again

Hotel and Spa staff attitude was bad - customer service was very poor. Staff not well trained.
I paid for a Superior room which was not available at 15h30pm when I arrived. I was offered a Classic Room instead. Not ideal situation for a guest who arrived after a long flight and who was staying for 7 nights.
My appointment at the Spa was messed up. My room had a face-lift not a refurbishment, contrary to advert. Food was not great either. I will not be returning to Le Suffren.

Over-Rated... Needs attention!

Interesting place to stay, gives a good entry into the tourist center of Port Louis... The ferry across is a nice touch and adds certain amount of amusement and even entertainment value!
However the service leaves one rather disappointed, everything is SLOW from the bar to the restaurant, sometimes you are left feeling that being a customer is a nuisance (for one is neglected)... However, once engaged the personnel are both polite and obliging... But then for this class of hotel one expects proactive attention not a reactive approach!

Stayed in an apartment for 2 weeks. Business hotel, I wouldn't recommend it for a vacation. Room was large and clean, and kitchen was well equipped. Since the apartments are further away from the bar and restaurant, the apartment was pretty quiet. Room service was lacking - they messed up my order 2 out of the 3 times I ordered. Some staff were amazing while others had no clue what they were doing. Gym is nice and water taxi is useful. Good restaurants and shopping, including grocery store, within walking distance.

I don't know where to starts. I paid R30000 for 10 days to stay in a room that has terrible damp smell, I complained as soon as I stepped the room and they wanted to spray perfume in the room...that's their solution to damp??realy? I should of been moved to a clean and cleared of famp room. But they dont care i paid upfront.We checked in on old years eve at about 9.30 to 10pm. The same night I booked us the Gala dinner(I was charged 7000 rupees)which was a horrible disaster! There was no food, and the little food that was available was tasteless and have been standing outside for hours. We complained about it and the hotel refused to remove the charge off our bill. There is NO SECURITY at the hotel;the 2 night porters i found asleep in the reception area, It took me 20 min to wake one of them up. The back door to the pool is NEVER LOCKED, ANYONE CAN ACCESS THE HOTEL. If you not French speaking you are treated as if your a 2nd class citizen,the staff is rude and unhelpful and attend to French speaking guests 1st??? I've been waiting for 3 days for the hotel manager to email me regarding the disasterious \"gala\" dinner they charged me for, still no reply! Worst service, damp room, disaster gala dinner I have had in my life. The star rating should me changed to a 2start hotel and that's too high!!!highly disappointed!!

Comfortable hotel with easy access to waterfront entertainment area (complimentary water shuttle on demand). The one improvement is to have a remote for the A/C as needing to get up a couple of times in the night to either switch off/on depending on room temperature.

A ONE NIGHT PRE CRUISE STAY. EXCELLENT POSITION IN ST LOUIS ON THE HARBOUR AND CLOSE TO TOWN CENTRE.

Nah -

No elevator, no direction to room.
Shower floor was dirty and mouldy - (When you pay this for 1 night it should not be necessary to shower with slipons)
Checked out a bit early, recepotion guy was asleep across the room so just left roomcards on desk and left.
Really dissapointing.
