Good service at the reception and housekeeping. Jeff is a very professional waiter and provided excellent service. I found the Japanese Izumi better than La Fourchette. Both food and the view from the terrace. I did not like the breakfast so I bought it for some days at Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel, which has the same owner. After traffic became to much in the mornings I stopped going there. I got a very large and excellent continental breakfast for Rs 800. At Hotel le Juliette Dodu by my choice the breakfast was not included in the room price so I payed for some days. I was charged different prices Rs 500, 580 and 850 for the same breakfast. 850 is for full english which incl. eggs which has to be asked for specially which I did not. I usually only had coffee, fruits and bread. Then it stopped having a breakfast buffet and instead a menu. I liked the avocado toast then they stopped having it. One day I was charged for each cup of low quality coffee, not filtered or from an espresso machine. I have stayed at many luxuary hotels around the world and this has never happen to me before. Probably because hotels owners find pleased guests and good review more imported than charging for each cup of low quality coffee. The hotel needs maintenance. Some door handles were broken and hanging loose. To enter my room I first had to lift the handle up and then down.

The hotel is charming and peaceful, perfect for a quiet getaway off the beaten path. While some areas could use a bit of updating as they show signs of wear, the overall atmosphere remains pleasant. The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating, which made the stay very enjoyable.
The breakfast was always very good, however the dinners were Al title but of a hot or miss.
The rooms are well laid out and clean, providing a comfortable space to relax. However, the shower has a leakage issue that causes water to spill onto the floor, and the evening lighting is insufficient. It would be helpful to have a lamp or additional lighting option for added convenience at night.
Parking is ample, but if arriving late, the available spots may be further away, requiring a walk over cobblestone paths that can be challenging. After eight days, we felt a sense of community with both staff and some guests, making the experience feel more personal and welcoming.
One note for travelers: mobile and internet connectivity can be unreliable on the island, with Google maps working inconsistently and other map apps not functioning at all. This is something to keep in mind when planning excursions or navigation.
All staff were great but one in particular that was outstanding was Ithi. Hope you can get to experience the hospitality if you get there.

Disappointing stay at the hotel

The hotel is a disappointment. Our room had no bathroom towels and we had to ask for them. We found a hair strand on the bedsheet. Dinner service was non existent and the food quality was very poor. Ditto for breakfast. The only highlight of our stay was the delightful pizza we had for lunch. It is definitely not somewhere we will be staying again.

Business stay, pleasant but restaurants overrated

Business stay for 3 nights. Was comfortable and room nice, spacious and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Two restaurants at the hotel was overrated for me, had better meals for cheaper at restaurants off site. This is the one area I would recommend to be improved. Airport transfers were arranged by front desk, very helpful, but the return transfer were late in arriving.

Despite booking in advance I was forced to make payment before before access or make deposit in foreign currency; they refused to give quote in Rupees but insisted in converting US Dollars to Ruppes at a lower exchange rate there was general non disclosure and lack of transparency in their dealings with me as a guest

It is perfect for a business traveller - some chill out areas - food is great value as is the hotel with the cost being one of the lowest for a proper 4* hotel - (some listings are B+B homes). Staff on the whole are friendly.

The place is actually quite good, however for the amount of money charged a few things really didn’t sit well, the aircon in my room was rattling so loudly it kept waking me up, I complained and on the 3rd attempt someone stuck a piece of toilet paper in the casing 🙄 ...and the refill of coffee n creamer etc was poor... oh and charging
ZAR350-00 for a 375ml bottle of wine is a rip off of huge proportions ( its R50 for 750ml )

It was a good stay. The rooms are clean though corridor floor need renovation as soon as yesterday for the diminish the appeal of this nice hotel.. service was not so good had an encounter with one if the waiters when they sat us in thei izumi restaurant on an undressed table and tried to serve us expensive food on an undressed table.. i think the waiters dont really care how it goes except a few ones. The manager was quick to rectify the issue which was a good thing.. apart from the restaurant staff who are indifferent and the worn out corridors the rest was ok.. the rooms are quite nice and floor are beautiful. reception staff are exceptional

The hotel itself is different from the others which makes it unique.

I did not like the welcome at check in. The person at reception was blunt. I heard of the Mauritian hospitality but as my first visit in Mauritius, I did not experience that.

The hotel looks very nice and the view to the sea is pretty. It also boasts a swimming pool with a few lounge chairs which is nice.

For breakfast, there is a wide choice, however there are loads of tiny flies where they cut the fruits, there are birds flying in the restaurant and land to eat the bread, jams, Nutella, peanut butter. and landing on the plane where they prepare the pizzas... Also, they have a parrot/ara who climbs on the tables to steal the sugar. If you leave your table with food, the birds will quickly have a feast of your breakfast. We also saw cockroaches roaming around the tables outside.

We had half-board. For diner, you have the choice of two restaurants: one Japanese (with a menu where the only choice is on the main) and one Mediterranean (with a 950 MUR allowance per person). The food for the Japanese restaurant is nice but only includes grilled fish, grilled meat, or noodles. The allowance for the Mediterranean restaurant is not enough to cover 3 course meal and on top of this, the choices are very limited and most local dishes are out of allowance choice.

Cleaning with a high pressure hose the area outside the breakfast room during breakfast!! Dishes, glasses and pizza boxes left on the staircase from when we arrives at around 17h00 to when we left the next day at 08h30. Food not great

Hotel in gated residential community - Enjoyable

We really enjoyed our stay. We arrived in Mauritius in the late afternoon and headed straight for the hotel. We received a friendly welcoming arrival and given an overview of the hotel facilities whilst being checked-in and shown to our room. The hotel was very nicely furnished; hip and chic. The room itself was well presented, spacious and offered good facilities.
We ate at the Japanese Restaurant in the hotel for dinner, ordering something light to not go to bed with overly full stomachs. The Sushi and Tempura was fresh and delicious. We took the recommendation from the restaurant supervisor/manager, who was also Australian (a nice touch as she shared some tips on what to do in Mauritius).
We had a comfortable night's sleep, with the glass doors open to appreciate the cool and fresh evening air. I do like it when hotel rooms provide the option to open your windows. Our breakfast included in the purchase was a nice treat, helping ourselves to a yummy breakfast with fresh and tasty (European) delights.
With not too many rooms, the hotel was not over-crowded (which we like). The terraces offered a great place to relax and enjoy an aperitif. The surrounds are well done, the architecture and landscaping/layout of and around the hotel is really cool. This place had a nice Provencal feel, with African/Moroccan influences. I loved the colours used for the exterior of the buildings.

A great experience!

It was a fantastic hotel to stay in for the start of our honeymoon. When we arrived, the whole check-in process was very slick and quick.

The hotel is pretty stylish, the bonus is definitely the terrace with breathtaking views and a nice pool area which is ideal for relaxing and enjoying cooling breeze after a hard day's sightseeing or work. Just a slight problem with the location as it is a little far from city center, shopping district and beaches. Nonetheless, it's a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood suitable for those who are looking to just relax and unwind.

And the best part? All the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and efficient! We would like to express our sincere thanks to the front desk staff, Kajal for taking time to help us fine tune our itinerary, arranging transportation, etc. She has definitely made our stay nothing short of amazing - writing a sweet note for us, sending up surprise complimentary desserts to our room and getting our bed decorated with flower petals and towel swans. Thank you so much for the extra lengths you went to, Kajal!

Overall we would highly recommend this hotel for its lovely service and staff.

Lovely quiet retreat

Wonderful relaxing stay. This is a very quiet hotel, however there is a shuttle bus into Port Louis which has a fairly vibrant waterfront and a great market heaving with haggling locals. I would recommend hiring a car, at about £35/day. They drive on the left so no problems for British, Australian and New Zealanders.

Ille Aux Cerfs was marvellous with a water taxi taking you out to the truly tropical paradise islands, taxi ride takes 5 minutes. It takes 40 - 45 minutes to get to the embarkation point by car. About 90 minutes by buses, changing at Flacq. Each bus costs 30 Rupees or 60p in sterling.

Between Port Chambly and Grand Bay there are a number of lovely beaches, surprisingly well catered for and very cheap. Grand Bay itself and the adjoining Perrybere are quite vibrant with more restaurants and bars than anywhere else we went on the island.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. The area is well maintained. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Our stay was over Christmas and the dinner was very well organized with delicious food served. The last night of our stay we enjoyed a dinner at Japanese restaurant.
I wish we could try the SPA as well but our traveling schedule was very busy. Hope to try it next time if I happen to be back to Mauritius

A very quiet and peaceful little hotel located about 15mins taxi drive from Port Louis (Seafront) in a purpose built resort consisting of the hotel and villa's (for let and private) around purpose built island lagoons. There is nowhere to walk outside the hotel really so be warned you need transport but this is not a problem if your already aware. The hotel is very charming with great sea views over the lagoon but the hotel restaurants (two, Italian type and Sushi) are shared with the villa users so even though you are a hotel resident, you are not guaranteed a table and if busy have to wait until they come free or book to eat at your own hotel. We visited in the quiet season so I can only imagine it worse in the high season and the closest alternative is to take a taxi to Port Louis which did on more than a few nights. The cold buffet breakfast and hot alternative was not very good either with much room for improvement given the hotels standard.

Bar and restaurant service can only be described as appalling and was certainly not representative of the hotels star rating so don't go expecting to be served immediately and be prepared to go up to the bar yourself if you want serving. When complaining about this to the hotel management, they did little to show any real concern.

This said although we cannot say its anywhere near 4.5 stars, we did consider it value for money and staying at a similar hotel in other parts of the world would cost allot more.

Relaxing Stay

The Japanese restaurant, Izumi, was nice. The teppanyaki was quite delicious. We enjoyed playing at the pool table and WiiU lounge at Piano Rouge. The rain shower in our room was good. There was also free wifi everywhere.
However, the nearby river was rather dirty.

Très sympa

Mon séjour a durer un peu près 10 jours. L'hôtel est très tranquille et sympa. La propreté de la chambre aurait pu être un peut mieux mais pas de gros éléments sale.
Je recommande si vous avez une voiture ou si vous etes près à payer un certain tarif pour les taxis cars au alentours de l'hôtel c'est un peu vide

Activités proposé par l’hôtel inexistante, le Sauna inexistant car en panne pendant tout mon séjour.
Buffet du petit déjeuner décevant, la stratégie est à revoir et la formation du personnel également.
Le responsable du restaurant japonais méprisant et très désagréable, heureusement que la Maitre sushis (Malika) été au niveau avec une excellente préparation.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cet endroit paisible avec un personnel adorable et serviable. Un seul petit bémol sur la cuisine \"européanisée\" mais pas très bien maîtrisée. En revanche, les plats mauriciens sont très bons.
Nous avons apprécié le calme de l'endroit, loin de l'euphorie touristique de certains endroits mais il vaut mieux être véhiculés.
