Convenient hotel at city centre

It’s a hotel right at the city centre with easy access to shops and restaurants. Also, one of the main locations to get picked up for different activities and very friendly and helpful staff.

Excellent choice in Rovaniemi

Excellent location in the city center of Rovaniemi. The hotel itself is rather functionally furnished, but offers all the amenities which a traveller might need. The breakfast is excellent and prepares you well for a day of exploration in Lapland. The friendly staff is an enormous asset - they helped us a few times with taxi bookings and even helped us to find an intercity bus schedule.

The only downside is a somewhat neglected maintenance - there’s quite a bit of wall chipping which is probably a result of customers hitting them with big bags. However, those do not diminish the experience. Would not hesitate to stay here again!

Clean but disappointed

Rovaniemi is a small city so I’m not sure what the other hotels are like. While the service and location of this hotel was excellent, I didn’t understand the 4star hotel rating. There were holes in the curtains, the conditioner was almost empty when we arrived, there was no hand lotions, the shower rack was falling off the wall. There’s no safe in the room so we had to travel everywhere with our passports and valuables. I just expected a bit nicer accommodation for a 4star hotel. Again, the staff were friendly and the room was clean so I don’t want to seem ungrateful.

The receptionists we met on Sunday around 1pm were super friendly and accommodating. The two receptionists working on Monday 5pm were super not friendly and they did not even want to open the locker room for us to get our luggages. They also asked us to use the bathrooms in the restaurant not inside the hotel. Their attitudes were as cold as the weather in rovaniemi.

Lovely, comfortable stay

We stayed for the night on our way to Ranua.
The rooms were very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was lovely and even something for our youngest, fussy daughter.
We wanted to go to Santa’s village in the morning before getting the bus to Ranua and were able to leave our luggage in their cupboard whilst we did.
The bus goes from across the road to Santa’s village.

Recommend!!!! Location is perfect! My husband and I were able to walk to the mall, restaurants, souvenir shops and always had the option to take the bus to popular sites like Santa Park and Santa’s Village. Staff is the best! Very helpful and so kind!

Could I sleep overnight? Yes. Very clean and friendly staff. Would I come again? No. Not worth the money. Rooms are sterile hotel room that you can find any cheap hotel. Interior design missing except few wooden things to bring the 'Lappish' touch. Well, the result is failure. one could expect TV and phone to function in the most expensive hotel room on the market. The attached restaurant recommended by the staff had a very limited menu, Due to COVID there were very few customers but the order took ages. The staff seem not to have any interest to prepare the food. Cleaning the kitchen floor and chatting had the priority.

Excellent staff! They were accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was excellent in terms of vegetables and greens which is rare in most of the hotels. I have read other reviews and was hesitant at the beginning but, I would definitely stay again in this hotel. The only low side is, it is a 3.5 to 4 star hotel for the $$ but, staff is 5 star.

There was a tube coming from rhe ir vent that could not be explained by staff. That tube disappeared after questioning bit tje fromt desk clerk who i addressed the concerns with did not know anythign about its removal. It made me feel unsafe so i moved hotels.

Great hotel in Rovaniemi

Extremely helpful staff. They went out of their way to help with any questions or concerns we had. We do not speak Finnish and had no problems communicating. Rooms were good size, well decorated and very clean. The \"northern lights\" lighting on the wall and heated floors in the bathroom were also a nice touch. The location of the hotel also made it easy to get around (walking or by bus). I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Avoid high number rooms (30+) due to nightclub

Have stayed at this Sokos about 5-6 times. Always good, upper middle tier for business/leisure hotel. This last time was a problem as I stayed on a Friday night and the nightclub in the basement was thumping out heavy base music until 3:30am. Completely useless for any night sleep (and I normally sleep through anything). Any of the rooms with the \"higher numbers\" (e.g. about [floor level X], room numbers 30+) are directly above the nightclub.

Hotel is well aware of this issue and the room I had \"312\" was supposedly \"not even one of the really bad ones for noise from the night club\". The good news is that there was no issue with requesting a refund (voucher).

The location of this hotel is very good. Walking distance to the shopping mall. Many restaurants & supermarkets nearby. The room is in good maintainable & very clean. The staff is efficient & nice. The worst thing is the menu in the restaurant is limited during peak season. No snacks or finger foods are provided.

客室は普通に綺麗でした。サウナに行くのにビーチサンダル持参しても良い。水着の人もいるけど部屋のタオルを身体に巻いてもOK,フロント脇に電子レンジがあった。気がつくのが遅くて使わなかったけど、使えるなら、地元スーパーでお弁当買って温めて部屋で食べられるかも。ホテルに質問してみたら良さそう。

Wir waren 1Woche im Sokos Hotel Vaakuna. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich und wir fühlten uns sofort wohl. Auch das Doppelzimmer war top. Sehr sauber, Wasserkocher mit Tee, Kaffee, Kakao standen jeden Tag bereit. Zimmerservice täglich top. Als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge auch hervorragend, da die Bushaltestelle gleich gegenüber war. Frühstück war alles da, was man benötigte und auch genügend Sitzplätze waren vorhanden. Wir haben die ganze Woche nicht auszusetzen gehabt. Wir würden dieses Hotel jedem empfehlen!!!!

Etwas mehr Ablagefläche/Strauraum resp. überhaupt ein Schrank wäre schon noch wünschenswert. Sonst zweckmässig und gut, mit kleinem Kühlschrank sowie Wasserkocher, Tee etc. Frühstück sehr gut, grosse Auswahl.
Von den Hotels.com-Gold-Mitglied-Vorteilen habe ich überhaupt nichts bemerkt.

Personal teilweise sehr nett, dreimal allerdings unhöflich bis unverschämt. Zimmer groß und sauber, alllerdings recht einfach. Frühstücksbuffet könnte deutlich bessere Auswahl haben, Auffüllen funktionierte nicht. Generell zu wenig Personal, daher lange Wartezeiten, auch an der Rezeption.
Angrenzendes Restaurant hatte an beiden Tagen keine Tische für Hotelgäste mehr frei. Wir können das Nili sehr empfehlen. Aus der Bar wurden wir Punkt 22.00 Uhr sehr unhöflich rausgeschmissen, durften unser (erstes) Getränk noch nicht mal austrinken.
Sauna hatte nur vier Stunden am Tag offen und war entsprechend total überfüllt. Wegen Corona für uns so nicht nutzbar.
Wir würden definitiv dieses Hotel nicht nochmal buchen.

部屋も朝食ダイニングも清潔感があり、綺麗なホテルでした。ロビーの装飾も北欧のクリスマスの雰囲気がありとても可愛かったです。
ドライヤーが故障しており、早朝でしたがフロントに電話するとすぐに対応していただき、別のものと交換してくれました。
サウナは夕方〜夜の数時間に限られており、今回は使用できませんでした。利用可能時間をもう少し長くするか朝も利用できると嬉しいです。
ロヴァニエミ市街に立地しているため、サンタクロース村や空港まではバスやタクシーでの移動が必要ですが、市街の街並みも楽しめたのでよかったです。

当日はアップグレードしていただいて、広い部屋でした。改装されているのかとてもきれいで気持ちよく過ごしました。テレビのチャンネルも豊富でとても楽しめました。
ホテルのすぐそばがサンタクロースビレッジや空港へ行けるバス停だったので、地面が雪で凍結していた時もあまり歩かずに行けてよかったです。

The hotel is generally ok, clean and we had most of the things we needed.
The room was really cold and we were given an extra heater that we had to use the whole time.
Water in the shower was cold and we were told to keep it running for really long time to get it warm. They say they are environmentally friendly but that with the water doesn't confirm it.
For an extra set of towels (one small and one large) we would have had to pay 4 Eur. Considering that there are no extra towels in the sauna and you have to use the one from the room, you definitely need an extra towel.
Breakfast was fine. They had most of the common things and some local stuff which is really nice if you want to try local food. The only thing that was really uncomfortable was that one of the waiters thought that we were packing some food to take away and she was constantly coming to our table and looking what we are doing. She was even watching from away as if she is checking on us. Once she asked us if we were packing stuff and we showed her our backpack but she kept coming. It's really a no go for a 4 star hotel to make guests uncomfortable like that.
