Santa Claus Village was the perfect mix between nostalgic yet not overwhelming Christmas spirit. . Everything from the accommodations to the food was top notch. Everything was in walking distance and Uber/cabs were easily accessible. Friendly staff, clean facilities, overall great experience!

I’m so glad we decided to pay a little extra and stay onsite at Santa Claus village. The staff went above and beyond to welcome us to Finland and absolutely mesmerised my children by letting them know Santa was expecting them. We also really appreciated that the staff kept our luggage as we had arrived early, and then dropped it to our apartment later in the day. We arrived early but staff emailed as soon as our room was ready so we were still in before the agreed check in time. The apartment was perfectly formed and had everything we needed for our stay. The beds were comfortable and the sauna was a lovely addition. The breakfast was excellent - we really appreciated that it was served until 11am and found the choice of food to be outstanding. My children particularly loved the white chocolate donuts! Thank you so much - I could not recommend this stay highly enough.

We stayed in one of the cottages with a sauna. We loved it. Our cottage was right beside the Forrest.
The cottage was lovely with cooking facilities. Market store at SCV made it easy to take a few meals instead of eating out always.
We really enjoyed our stay, and loved our time in Lapland. Highly recommend!

The cottage was good, sauna was a strong plus. But that was it. The service is not great, especially for the money paid for the cottage. More than 1300 $ per night and no cleaning at all, no body lotion, bed was made only after being called 3 times and i had to do that every day.
And what to say about breakfast, the worst i have ever seen. Toaster was broken so no warm sandwiches, coffee machine was half working and scrambled eggs has weird rubbery texture.
I would suggest staying in Rovaniemi city and coming to holiday village for day trips.
And none of the theme parks stuff is included in the money you paid for. So pay extra for everything.

Santa Claus Village has different options to stay - we stay in a suite with sauna, just behind the main centre (behind snowman world).
You could walk to main centre with Santa, post office, restaurants, playground, activities, main reception/hub all within 5 minute walk.
Rooms are odd - large bathroom, but small living space if there's a family of 4 staying (the sofa changes to a bed and you can just about squeeze past). Beds were comfotable and sauna was great. Maids cleaned and made beds daily. Limited space to store clothes, but hangers near front door for wet coats etc.
Lots to do around - snow makes it as can take kids just outside for sledding and playing. Book tours in reception or choose external provider. There's a lot to do for younger children, also 2 santas you can visit - time it so you go at the end of the day, we waited 5 mins, but heard some people wait 2 hours! I would not wait this long to see Father Christmas. Lots of day trippers and tourists, but of a night, it's dead - this is when it's lovely to walk around as an adult, lots of pretty lights and feels very festive. Staff all good, very helpful on whole. Liked the main breakfast area and later it's an ala carte restaurant. It's expensive, but you don't have to leave and you are probably not going to visit again, so enjoy your time!

Staying in this property made our trip magical. It was a pleasure to return from an outdoor activity to a cozy cabin, spacious and equipped with the amenities to feel like home. The only thing we found interesting (and maybe this is a cultural difference) is that daily cleaning included making the bed and changing towels only. We are used to full cleaning. But a minor detail.

Absolutely unbelievable 2 nights stay, my children aged 17 said itbwas the best holiday they had ever been on and we have been all over the world, they want to come back every year. Meeting father christmas was just the most amazing experience, we loved it!!!

The rooms were spotless the bathroom was very clean and the bed was really comfy.

The room was nice but very basic, the sofa bed wasn’t very comfortable for the children to sleep on and having the sofa turned into a bed it didn’t leave anywhere else for us to sit comfortably. The food in the restaurant was okay, not worth the prices they were asking but I guess this is expected at a place like this. The reindeer ride wasn’t what we thought it would but the kids love it so that’s the main thing. I would highly recommend visiting Santa’s pets, it seems a bit pricey to get in but you have access all day, so we went back when it started to get dark and enjoyed toasting marshmallows over the fire pits and cooking hotdogs, all of which can be purchased from the kiosk where you enter and surprisingly cheap compared to the rest of the holiday village. Overall the staff were nice, the breakfast was good but I’d recommend eating at the services across the road (better value for money). I would suggest hiring a car as we did, it gave much more freedom and made the excursions much cheaper. But please avoid Green Motion, they have scammed us out of the deposit (check their reviews on Trustpilot, I wish we had).

We’d like to go back but early in the year when the snow more likely to have settled 🎅

Rooms were just like the pictures. And they were clean. But from reception to the rooms you have to walk like 200 meters, with children AND bags on icy road, with -5 degrees. So it was really uncomfortable to do it without help.
Breakfast was simple, they could include some nice pastry.

Stayed in what I would call an apartment for 5ppl. I thought we were in a private wooden hut but clearly not. Accommodation was grand in fairness. On first arrival didn’t know where to go as the bus dropped us off the wrong side of reception- so maybe a “you are here” sign near bus stop would be beneficial. Breakfast was lovely, good options for adults and kids- and fruit for very fussy eaters like my 3 year old. Lunch/ dinner menu fairly limited but we ate pizza each time on our stay. Restaurants fairly expensive- but I suppose that’s Finland. Overall recommend anyway :) staff all lovely

Very unique setup, feel like Chrustmas everyday. Only complaint we have is that all restaurants are close at 6pm except The Three Elves Restaurant which has very limited menu, we tried it on the first day. We were going to try other restaurants on the other days, but ended up eating frozen meals and instant noodles on the rest of the days we were there.

The pleasant experience starts at the check-in reception. The staff are cheerful and friendly. Always ready to answer our queries. Buffet breakfast is provided. We visited Santa Claus and the Arctic Circle line. Posted cards home at the Post Office with their unique stamps. The cabins are clean although a little dated. The room is large and nicely lighted on the outside. The shops are reasonable in prices although the restaurant is more pricey. I would recommend this place especially if you like Santa Claus or have children.

Visiting this property in the off season is a budget friendly way to see Santa and experience the Village. I definitely had fun but there is no doubt this place comes alive during the winter when all the snow activities are available. While I was there they were doing a lot of maintenance to get ready for the winter. It didn’t bother me but might take away from the fairytale visit you may have in mind. The staff were great, my cottage in Santas Village was lovely and even had it’s own sauna. Overall I would recommend a visit at any time of year but if you are looking for the Magical Christmas experience start saving now and come in December, I bet it is amazing!

Family visit in April.
As we were at the end of the winter season we have missed out on the most of activities what village has to offer. Also everything is at the extra cost , no activities included with Santa stay. We didn’t realise how little to do once the season is over, also little cottages are comfortable enough , but done to the minimal just to provide you basics. I personally would stay in near by A&B with more personal touches and catch a bus to the village just for a visit.
Best experience in the area was “Santa Salmon” ! That is 100% a must!

The sleds most of them are broken so I feel like they need to be replaced, the pot and pan I. The room needed to be replaced. I would like to have the room cleaned every day or at least have them pick up the trash specially since we have a baby and diapers were piling up.

Cute place to spend a couple nights if you have children. Could do a better job on the decorations and area cleanliness. Very limited dining options and since you are stuck in the area you cant venture out unless you get a service. Numerous shops everywhere ready to sell you trinkets. Rooms are basic but comfortable. I would say its a ok place to stay as long as you know its a tourist trap with basic accommodations and not really holiday/winter themed decorations.

Receptionists were nice, accommodating and helpful. I like that they transported our luggage into our rooms during arrival. With the snow on the ground, it was a huge help. However, it would be great if the same courtesy be extended at departure. It was very difficult pulling our heavy luggage in the snow to get to reception area.

Booked a classic cottage for myself and 7yr old. Very clean and comfortable. Sauna was great for drying wet clothes. Underheated floor in bathroom. Beds comfy. Kitchenette handy. I'd swap the coffee machine for a toaster though. Eateries nearby are very expensive. Breakfast was ok but no baked beans or hash browns. Not much choice for vegetarians. Excellent xmas activities for kids like santa, mrs claus, skidoos. But the kids' favourite thing was the 'accidentally made' ice slide near the arctic circle playground. Great fun and totally free.

The accommodation - in this case a superior cabin - was excellent. Very clean comfortable and warm. The bed and sofa bed were comfortable and the private sauna was a lovely addition and very welcome after being out in very cold weather all day. The kitchenette was useful but would have benefitted from an oven as two small hobs and a microwave limits self-catering options. The staff were all very friendly and helpful We knew Finland is an expensive country before booking but we weren't prepared for just how the tourism industry in Lapland takes unfair advantage of its mostly captive market. Apart from husky safaris, it isn't necessary to pre-book excursions and experiences and you can often walk up and book either for same or next day.

NB. Avoid booking experiences with "Lapland Welcome". We had a very bad experience as did others we met.
