In case if the room is for 4 people - it is important that the furniture is in a good condition, as in our case the sofa was so noisy during the night when somebody tried to turn.

We stayed at Scandic Rovaniemi City, and overall it was a great experience. The hotel is in a fantastic location - very close to the airport and perfectly situated for exploring the city. Since we arrived late at night, it was an ideal stop for our first day.
The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful and welcoming. The lady who checked us in went above and beyond - she even showed us how to keep our car plugged in and warm overnight so it would be in good condition the next morning. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was decent, and the location couldn’t be better for getting around Rovaniemi.

Hotel was good and staff were friendly (except in the restaurant).
When we had dinner in the hotel, there were guests only at a few table and the staff was just having a chat between themselves and ignoring us. They didn’t care to come to us, had to ask them. There was also a piece of plastic in the schnitzel.
The hotel is nice, but avoid the restaurant for dinner. I suggest to stay here, but eat dinner outside of the hotel.
The breakfast was nice.

The service was extremely poor. There was no kettle or cups in the room. The waiter said it was because I booked at a lower price. I paid over 600 euros per night for the room. Even the cheapest hotels have kettles and cups.

Stayed during peak season (week before Christmas) and paid peak pricing, but the experience did not match expectations.

Check-in: Requested early check-in at 11:30am due to an early flight. Initially told to wait until 3:30pm, then repeatedly asked to wait until 4pm, even though guests arriving after us were given rooms. Eventually assigned another room after insisting. Room was not prepared for 3 adults and had to request housekeeping to add the extra bed.

Housekeeping & Service: On the second day, despite placing the “clean room” sign, the room was not cleaned and towels were not changed. The sign was removed and kept inside the room, raising questions about what housekeeping actually did. At reception, responses were cold and dismissive, including being told it’s “hotel policy” not to clean rooms daily (not mentioned anywhere). When requesting fresh towels, we were asked to collect them ourselves from reception as staff was “busy.” Phones in rooms do not work, forcing multiple trips to reception.

Rooms & Facilities: Rooms are very small, bathroom extremely cramped. Wi-Fi was slow, TV channels limited.

Food: Breakfast spread is large but heavily meat- and bread-based. No rice or noodles. Items ran out on the second day and the buffet remained unchanged.

Overall: Location is excellent and walkable, but service is inconsistent and often poor. Some staff were warm and helpful, others need better customer-handling training.

Disappointing stay. Heating didn’t work in that we couldn’t get the room warm. Fridge didn’t work. We put our son’s medication in the fridge as it needs to be refrigerated only to find in the morning that it was warm and now spoiled. Asked for a quiet room and was put next to the lift (also had noisy neighbors). Was only given one pillow per person and when asked for more pillows it was an ordeal. No phone in room to call reception. No answers to messages sent to the hotel. Room was tiny. Bathroom was tiny. For the price paid - over $550 USD I expected so much more. When I spoke to the lady upon checkout, she thought it was funny. Wish we picked another hotel. Avoid.

The room and location were great. Breakfast was filling. The only thing that let this accommodation down was check in. Our room was not ready by 4.00pm - check in time. When we asked why and what was the problem neither reception staff could leave any answer. We were'invisible' to them.They simply ignored us, even though we were standing at the counter.There were numerous people in this situation, the lobby was full. At no time was there an explanation - very frustrating. Finally when our room was available there was no apology and only a superficial welcome and run down to services and amenities. Staff need better training and there needs to be more staff during peak times.

Hotel is in a perfect location for pick-up to local attractions. Visitor center a 5 min walk, shopping mall across the street. Very modern, spotless rooms. Extremely helpful and friendly staff, they offer luggage storage in a locked room. Breakfast has a huge, quality selection and fully worth the 21EUR. Ate dinner at the restaurant and it was delicious. Definitely would stay here again.

Easy to get to from the airport. Clean and quiet. Restaurant meals were good. Breakfast good, but kept running out of options, which weren't replaced. A lot of what was supposed to be hot was cold. Shower was cold with no hot water on our first full day. Reported it but was just told they had been having problems! Overall we enjoyed our stay.

My room didn't have any opening windows, and seeing as we couldn't turn down the heating, it was ridiculously not. Staff did supply us with a fan when requested. Paying to park was a bit of a cheek. Check in process took way too long.

Lovely hotel in a great location

As part of a larger trip, this has been such a pleasant stay! The staff has all been friendly and helpful, the room is clean, modern, and comfortable, and we’ve been able to walk or drive around so easily. The only, very minor, issue has been the size of the shower; it is so small that I continuously bump my elbows against the walls. Not a big problem, though.

We had a one night stay as a family. The breakfast is very good and the room is a good size. Staff were also very friendly and no issues leaving our luggage there during the day.
Unfortunately our sleep wasn't so great as we had loud music till 1am, which seemed to come from a party in the hotel.
Otherwise our stay was good.

Finnish staff are friendly at the hotel. Rooms are ok. The lobby is overrun woth lost tourists (on tour groups without) and their baggage - its really appalling you cant enter or leave the building safely with children as there are so many people.

Overall we liked the property as far as cleanliness and dining options are concerned but maintenance response is poor. Our wash sink clogged and when we reported the problem no one came to fix the issue. Also, the rooms you stay is bit far from the main resort so we had use a sledge to transfer our luggage to our room in the winter. This can be a bit of challenge and safety hazard as one one slip and fall on the icy road at some some spots. Other than these we loved the property especially the dining options and the fact that one could see northern lights sleeping on your bed from your laser heated glass igloo.

I was a bit skeptical when booking this hotel but it exceeded my expectations. The staff are friendly, the location is TOP NOTCH, and the rooms are large compared to other hotels.

The breakfast was average but it gets the job done.

I would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are spacious, new and exceedingly comfortable. The sauna is amazing. . The breakfast buffet is wonderful and set in a glass atrium courtyard that will delight you. The staff is most helpful, going out of their way to help. The location is very convenient: right con the pedestrian promenade and close to numerous restaurants and not far from the train ( walkable)

However, it seems that the beds are old, well-worn and not supportive (the bed would sink in the middle). This led to a very stiff back each night of my stay.
