The Hotel itself is super cute. With that real Finnish vibe. Stylish, elegant, quaint. Room clean, my view was amazing. Beautifully located. So Picturesque!! I wanted to love it so much! But here are the fails. The staff need some serious customer service training. No smiles were seen, and certainly not a “How was your stay?”
It’s a busy time of year, but I was taken by surprise at how many families with young children. Definite vibe Killer! There’s no lift at this property, and no one to help with bags so be prepared.
Breakfast was chaos trying to find an available clean table. Maybe I will give this property the opportunity to redeem itself, because had it not been for a very ordinary (less than ordinary) experience. I probably would have loved the place.

Loved the location in the forest of a ski resort in summer. The roof terrace view is panoramic revealing all the fells around Rovaniemi. The nature trails surrounding the hotel are wonderful. The food was excellent. The sauna in our room was outstanding along with the view from the room over the local forest. Would do it again one day though it is a long way from Australia. At the end of fourteen self driving around Finnmark and Sapmi it was an excellent choice on our journey back to Kirkenes. We loved northern Finland.
The staff made a worthwhile and enjoyable stay.

A Rovaniemi gem

This hotel was set in an out of way area in Rovaniemi. It was worth it to be surrounded by a lovely forest. The rooms each has a personal sauna which was the reason we chose the hotel. (The saunas in room for 2.) We were there to see the Northern Lights. The hotel has a viewing area on the roof. We only saw them one night due to snow but at this hotel, it was a wonderful vantage point. The hotel restaurant was wonderful, with breakfast included. The one challenge is that the hotel does not have an elevator. We took heavy suitcases up and down the stairs. Frankly I would do it again. The hotel was great.

Stay was amazing. We loved the Sauna in the room. The breakfast was good. The trails around the hotel are very nice and must do. Only one complaint - No elevator to go up to room on the 2nd floor (1st floor actually) where the rooms with Sauna are located. So lugging your luggage up is difficult. Would request the management to install an elevator at the earliest.

We loved our stay here! The rooms with the sauna were stunning and it really was a great introduction to Finland. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was so delicious we looked forward to it everyday. The waiting staff were polite but I think I would’ve appreciated if they were a little more friendlier. But not a big deal. The only complaint I would have is the parking, we didn’t have any issues finding a space but it did get busy quite frequently, and nobody parked properly so some markers may help for future. Unfortunately we got sick (unrelated to our stay) so we didn’t get to participate in a lot of activities but did notice some mountain bikes resting on the side of the hotel, and often wondered if these were for guest use. A little more information on these would’ve been nice at check in. Overall, we loved our stay here and would recommend it to everyone!

Great property with the most friendly staff. Breakfast was fantastic beating the breakfast I’ve had in Italy. Great coffee, fresh juice/smoothie and honeycomb for my fresh yogurt. Property is on the ski slop with ski in and ski out. Only downside is restaurant is closed for lunch, the cafe had a few snack options but no other food restaurants near by and there is no elevator. A small handicap/luggage elevator would do wonders. Probably my best stay on my 3 week trip to Europe.

This is a lovely hotel that was cosy, clean and comfortable. The private sauna in room was great and had a beautiful view over the forest.

The location is secluded but still easy to walk into town through the forest path.

The staff were super helpful and even provided a breakfast box when I had an early start.

The only slight downside was the bed and pillows are very soft so something to be aware of if you like things firm like me.

Enjoyed my stay at the hotel especially the in-room sauna! Extremely friendly and helpful staff, especially, Tara, who went out of her way to help with everything! Location is quiet and serene however far from attractions. Expect to pay 25-35 euros for taxis to Santa’s village and the airport. Will definitely be back.

We had a perfect stay in Ounasvaara. We had the room with sauna and the room was perfect for us! Beautiful forest view and room design was atmospheric. I would highly recommend the hotel with its location. A fireplace in the hotel lobby was also a nice add to the lappish experience.

Absolutely perfect. The hotel and room was in a perfect condition. Also clean and appeared newly refurbished And with our own sauna in the room. Just perfect. The hotel is situated perfectly for nice walks in the Forrest as well as skiing. The lift is located 50 meters from the hotel. Staff overall very friendly. Food perfect. We also enjoyed 5 course surprise dinner with wine menu. Absolutely perfect in Michelin class. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed the aurora from the hotels roof balcony. Can only recommend this hotel. 5 star

We enjoyed the hotel very much. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms were excellent. We wish they were larger for our family of 4. But we were comfortable with 2 rooms (one adult one child per room)- but sad not to be together in one room. We got a room with a sauna in it. Which was fanstastic.

The hotel was very nice and rooms modern and cozy.
Location was superb whether you go for skiing, visiting the Santa or strolling around the city itself. The surroundings of the hotel amazing as well. Breakfast good. So in general I would really recommend the hotel as you get a nice experience.
If there is something to nag about, then from the pictures it shows as all the rooms also have a sauna, which is not true. However, something I was kind of hoping to have. Also, our room, 135, was quite cold and the heating system just couldnt warm up the room. The room was lacking of dust bins - only one bin in the restroom, and no bins in the bedroom nor bathroom. Bathrobes and slippers would have been much appreciated - bathrobe good for going to the hotel sauna or after taking a bath.

The room has floor-to-ceiling window with a nice view of the national park. Also the hotel has a roof terrace perfect for viewing the northern lights (although we weren't lucky enough to see any). Food at the hotel was unique and innovative, making use of Finnish ingredients. The hotel is located around 10 mins drive away from the city centre - only accessible by cab..something to consider if you're travelling by car. Regardless, the cab fare is around 12 - 15 euros one way. Not that pricey.

Tired but magical location

This hotel is nestled amongst the woods - great ski lodge but very tired. Beds well in need of replacement, bathrooms need an update. breakfast buffet great but dinner buffet Overpriced for the 5 dishes on offer (only fish fingers and chips or pasta for kids all of which were cold). Dessert bar included two types of cake and ice cream.

This is a winter ski hotel about 4 km from town. You'll want a car to tour the area. Exfremely nice staff and large rooms. Great in-room sauna in addition to common sauna on each floor. Gourmet restaurant serving Finnish specialties. Nice hiking and biking trails in summer.

Heated floors??? Friendly staff?? (See Maria she is an absolute wonder! - at the front desk). The star went above and beyond to help us when we decided to stay an extra day in Lapland. From helping us change our train tickets to getting us checked in early. This place was truly wonderful, and their restaurant was fantastic (we'd tried it the night before). Exceptional service and overall great hotel!

Nice hotel on the top of the hill

This hotel is great if you are driving in Rovaniemi, but it's a bit far if you are not. It's only 10 mins from the downtown Rovaniemi. The best part was the view from the rooftop and you can see the beautiful view of the town from the rooftop

The best staff , so friendly and helpful.
Food cost is a little expensive, but excellent. They don't accommodate your laundry, so it cost to get your cloths washed for you. The roof top area, to see northern lights was great view.

A place you want to live... Magnificent!

Cozy ski lodge. Roof terrace for viewing the Aurora Borealis, if your lucky (check the kp and hope the skies are clear. 10 min to the Airport and Santa Claus Village. Approx 8 min to the main northern most city Rovaniemi. No fridge in room. We wish we had a bigger bathroom, but we came for a vacation not to live in a hotel.. Great free Breakfast. Dinner is pricey but that's Finland. The front desk very friendly and helpful. They packed lunch for our early morning departure for free. Finnish people are very friendly. Definitely will come again.

Sky hotel is a very good and comfort hotel, but the location! Actually, if you don't call a taxi or drive yourself, you can not go to town for eating or shopping, if you walk 50 mins every times!

Cost me about 424 euros per night, which is very expensive for the standard of the room (at best a 3 star acco), but during the peak season in Rovaemi, hotels are fully booked up and so book in advance. Need own car if planning to stay here. Very good location for sking.

Rooms are very basic. Beds were last changed I do no know when. During the night you just hear old springs making a noise. The location is good however I am sure that the room rate is due to the location only. I personally would not pay more than 70 Euros a night for this hotel. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and this hotel does not meet my expectations. If you are looking for comfort, style and elegance this is not the hotel for you. If you want to walk out of the hotel to a ski lift this could be the only recomendation

Ensure you know what you are getting for your money as regards room facilities. Hotel has a mid range ski hotel feel about it which needs modernisation and it could benefit from a more affordable restaurant menu with greater variety. Has a great out of town location next to the ski slope but taxis costs need to be budgeted for to get into town. Good value buffet breakfast was a plus.

Das Zimmer war optisch stilvoll, insgesamt aber eher dunkel und mit einer unpraktischen Stufe. Frühstücksbuffet war reichhaltig und optisch sehr ansprechend. Reservierung zum Abendessen obligatorisch, da Restaurant gut besucht. Lobby und Bar mit netter Atmosphäre, allerdings sehr zugig, da ständig die Eingangstür auf und zu ging und der gesamte Bereich mit frischer Luft versorgt wurde.

Wir haben zwei Nächte in diesem Hotel verbracht und waren rundum sehr zufrieden. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön gestaltet und die eigene Sauna auf dem Zimmer ist natürlich ein echtes Highlight. Alles war top gepflegt und sehr gemütlich.

Das Frühstück war wirklich überragend – außergewöhnlich lecker, mit einer sehr großen und besonderen Auswahl. Es hat uns jeden Morgen begeistert. Einmal haben wir auch abends im Hotel gegessen: ebenfalls sehr schmackhaft, mit sehr freundlichem Service. Die Preise sind allerdings – wie generell in Lappland – eher gehoben.

Besonders gefallen hat uns auch die ruhige Lage: etwas abseits vom Trubel, auf dem Berg gelegen, umgeben von einem wunderschönen Wald, der sich perfekt zum Wandern eignet. Dazu gibt es eine tolle Aussicht ins Tal.

Insgesamt hat es uns wirklich sehr, sehr gut gefallen – wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

The hotel stands out for its beautiful location – it truly feels like winter magic. The spacious room with a private sauna was definitely a highlight and made our stay extra special.

Unfortunately, the friendliness of the staff could be improved. Coffee was not always offered proactively, and at breakfast we had to remind the staff to clean our table. There is still some room for improvement in terms of service.

La station de ski au pied de l’hôtel avec la possibilité de prendre le télésiège gratuitement en piéton. Parcours de rando a coté du télésiège. Tout était top !

Mon seul bémol, en tant que bon français, le manque de choix sucré pour le petit déjeuner.

La mejor opción que pude tomar…es un hotel espectacular, sus vistas fueron mágicas, el personal excelente, saben perfectamente lo que significa el SERVCIO AL CLIENTE, en todo momento al pendiente de los huéspedes, desayuno riquísimo…sin duda lo recomiendo al 200%, volveé.

Quarto muito bem decorado, limpo e agradavel de ficar. A cama é macia (demais para mim) mais o restante é confortavel. Café bem variado, restaurante bonito e acolhedor. Uma vista incrivel. Todos bem diretos e simpaticos. Foi apenas 1 noite mais com vontade de voltar.
