The room was clean, modern and slightly quirky. The staff were helpful and pleasant, and the 24/7 cafe was useful for food when arriving late. Just a couple of niggles, I did have a single room but the only table was very small and the kettle and complimentary tray took up all the space so there was nowhere to work with a small laptop. The other niggle was that althought the room was quiet and you couldn't really hear other people in their rooms, there was some kind of water tank or water system that made a lot of noise on and off all through the night. Not really sure what it was, but it did keep me awake.

The location and staff were great, so I’ve given them a star. The rest was dreadful. We expected the shoebox that we got, but we didn’t expect the window (that cost £25!!) to be so heavily frosted it might as well not be there or for it to be sealed shut. I resent you monetising daylight for so little of it.
The box was roasting hot, the aircon was broken and the windows don’t open, so we left at 7am to get fresh air. I can only imagine the hell of that room in the summer months.
The bathroom wall is also entirely frosted, but not with as much effort as the window. So I got a lovely view of my husband using the toilet.
I feel that I paid £125 to stay in what is basically a prison simulator. But at least I know where the phrase ‘daylight robbery’ comes from now.

Stayed in the no window room which is pretty small but all the amenities are brand new and honestly perfect for our stay! Will 100% stay again in the future!

The Room was surprisingly smaller than expected for Queen size but nonetheless was beautiful. Although there was small stains around I was happy. The tv would’ve been better if all the channels actually worked haha. The staff were amazing and I got some free wine and cheese which happens every Tues and Sat. The commute to the station was really easy. There a lot of nice cafes around and bus stop right in front of the hotel. My husband and I would stay again.

The staff are very helpful and the room came fully equipped with proper coffee and a nice big bed. However, I could barely sleep due to loud noises coming from the air conditioner every 15 mins or so. I even tried turning the AC off but the noise continued. The pillows were uncomfortable and linens had yellow stains on them.

The reception staff were nice and very helpful. I booked in order to attend Christmas services at the Temple Church so my unexpected view of the church from my window (room 221) was a real plus.
The price was reasonable and I realise of course that this is not a luxury place; I understand, too, that they only service the room on alternate days. That's fine - but only once in my five-night stay? I expected better.
The room had everything needed - comfortable bed, excellent bathroom ... but I felt the lay-out could have been better thought through, even though the room is small. Main problem? I read a lot and the lighting just wasn't good for that. Also - no bedside power or USB point.
All that said, it's a very good place to base yourself, with lots of public transport options nearby - and plenty of interesting places to visit (not least the famous and beautiful Temple Church). My room (at the back of the hotel) was very quiet indeed - though I was woken on Christmas morning by the merry shouts of the choristers arriving for their pre-service practice!
The breakfast (extra cost) is OK but not wildly exciting. Slightly cheaper if you book it on arrival at Reception rather than paying in the (small) restaurant/eating area.
In short, it's not perfect, but I would (I shall!) stay here again.

Room was internal so no windows , but has it was winter didn’t matter . Room was small but did the job , the only issue was an issue with the kettle where the plug was damaged. I did report it but nothing was done, on departure I mentioned this to Philip who can’t be more helpful sorted out breakfast coffee anything I wanted .

When we discussed reimbursement, I asked if I could just get breakfast comped to make up for the difference and the staff did not provide it officially so every morning I had to explain the situation.

Hotel is very clean and smart , very well kept . Staff are friendly !! I felt very safe as a lone female traveller .
Only things to note are that the bed is super firm and hard , so depends on your preference ! And it’s quite loud when people are walking around the hotel so bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. But they’re only minor things and I would deffo stay again !! The room I was in was very small but I didn’t mind it as felt cozy , for the price it’s great !

My stay at Z Hotel City was good. The staff at the downstairs cafe are extremely friendly, as well as the front desk. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is small but enough. The room is also very small but that's clear before booking. There was A/C in my room which was great. The drains and plumbing is a bit loud in the evenings and you can hear people walking outside and upstairs. Just somewhat loud and something to take in consideration if you're a light sleeper. Overall, good experience.

A quiet night. We had windowless room. The light pad was difficult to work out, seems to be a delay. As the room was so dark we left the bed lights on as could not see the lighting pad. A bed lamp or light around the the pad may assist. The room was beautifully clean along with the bed and bathroom. Towls also spotless. Tea coffee and even oat milk sachets. Would definitely return

Easy check-in, even though I was hours late. Augustine, the concierge, was simply amazing! I forgot my travel adaptor, and he tried his best to look through the storage to find one. I stayed here for three nights and overall really enjoyed it. The staff were fantastic, the place was spotless, and the location couldn’t be better — just 10 minutes to Trafalgar Square, 15 to Piccadilly, and loads of transport options right outside.
The only quirk? The room was a bit small, and the bathroom was a separate glass cubicle — one of those “modern hotel” design trends I’ll never understand. If your idea of a holiday is watching your friends on the toilet :D, then this is the luxury you’ve been waiting for.

The hotel itself is very nice. The staff are all lovely. However, the beds are incredibly hard. We had to ask for a spare duvet to put under us, but we still slept very little. The air con is also poor. We had a fan blasting all night as the air con did little to cool the room. If they could sort the beds I would stay again in cooler weather, but at the moment I couldn't recommend it as when we complained we were told all the beds are like it. One of us will sleep on just about anything and even he found it rock-like.

It would have nice to have been told at check-in on Tuesday about the complimentary wine and cheese. I found the young man who was working that day to be a bit stand offish and not very welcoming. I was celebrating my birthday and it would have really been nice to know about the event that was taking place in the evening.

This hotel what’s like my knight and shining armor. I had checked into a hotel that was disgusting and I had to last minute find a hotel that would be suitable. I checked ratings and I found Z hotel on Fleet Street. I cannot tell you how happy I was to check in there and find out how lovely it was! A real hotel! The staff were amazing. They were very helpful and friendly to check in was a breeze. The breakfast the next morning was wonderful. I cannot say enough about this hotel. It was so comfortable and I felt so great there after a horrendous experience at the hotel that I had originally booked thank you hotel Z for making my stay so great!
