I didn't stay in Europa Royale due to their renovation project. But the staff was excellent to contact me in advance, and transferred my reservation to Mercure Bucharest Urinii, which is a great hotel. We loved two nights at Mercure. For this, I want to thank the Europa Royale staff!!

We were initially given a room with dirty towels, unmade bed, tea in cups, clearly not seen by a housekeeper since the previous guests departed. We were given another room on a lower floor. This room, unfortunately opened onto the alley below with lots of noise from the bars all night long. The manager brought up a bottle of wine and fruit gratis. The room was small with minimum drawer space snd no chairs. All in all, it was an okay place located in a nice area, convenient to public transportation.

This hotel was a disappointment and the staff were not helpful or efficient. One of the front desk workers was down right rude. I asked twice for an iron for my room and waited almost 5 hours for it had to end up going downstairs to get with an injured leg. The rooms are dirty visible mold on the bathroom tiles.

The hotel is in the old city. The better rooms are facing the street. There is a bar in the street with very loud music day and night. In the first night we realized that we cannot sleep. The next day the front desk provided us with... ear plugs. It is clear they know about the problem. The ear plugs did not help. Only after my demand to call the police the music stopped at 01:30!.
Next problem is the airconditioning. The room was too cold but we could not increase the temperature. The front dest promised to send a technician but he never came. Next morning the front dest told me that BY LAW they cannot set the temperature over 19 degC. I do not believe this story.
So if you like loud music and low temperatures - this hotel is for you.

A very good location. Nice and kind staff. Very good breakfast. The very bad things. A terrible smell in the whole room. I am sure is due to a gas trap malfunction in the bathroom. A horrible and annoying music sound from a bar right across the street. It last until 3 am every night. Impossible to sleep!

Hotel is in a great Old City location, close to restaurants, bars, and clubs. It is 50 feet away from the Old Court Church and the justly-famous Hanul Lui Manuc Inn/Restaurant. And only a very short walk to Piata Unirii metro station. Room was clean, a comfortable size, with a nice street view. The staff is friendly, helpful, and their English is good. HOWEVER, the rooms overlooking the street are noisy. There’s no way to disguise this. There is a LOT of construction taking place at the Piata Unirii; it will be grand when it’s all finished, but even after the construction is finished, there are restaurants and bars close by, and these will NOT be gone, even if the construction is gone. Party noises and traffic/emergency vehicles are, sadly, pretty evident. Let me be clear: I liked this hotel; I slept ok, and the hotel is a great location. But if you need total quiet, you may need someplace else.

We stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate my friends birthday. I notified the hotel in advance of this & requested if there was anything they can do to make her birthday special & they agreed advising that they always make it special for guest visiting for a special occasion. Unfortunately they did not fulfil this request which was a shame. We arrived early however there was no option for early check in. The location of the hotel is excellent walking distance to restaurants/bars. The room we were initially provided was quite spacious & so was the bathroom. However there was a fault with the toilet & it ended up overflowing & flooding the bathroom. When we called reception to report the issue they advised they were unable to attend to it for 30mins & did not understand the seriousness. As we had a dinner reservation & had to shower & get ready for this, we packed our suitcases & went down to reception to request to be put in an another room to get ready. The gentleman at the desk said there was nothing he could do & there were no other rooms available. Eventually he arranged for someone to attend to our room to see what the issue was. After 40 minutes waiting in reception with no communication, we were finally given another room (after saying there were no rooms available). There were no apologies for the inconvenience. The room given was a lot smaller especially for 3 adults.Luckily the restaurant was walking distance & we were only a few minutes late. Disappointed

We Were Told to “Suffer Through the Night”

The air conditioning in one of our two rooms wasn’t working. I informed the front desk, who said nothing could be done until the next day but promised someone would come to fix it. If it couldn’t be fixed, they would see if another room was available. Despite another guest at check-in saying he only needed one of his three reserved rooms, the front desk told us there were no other rooms available and that we had no choice but to sleep in the hot room. It was unbearable. We slept nearly naked and still couldn’t rest due to the heat. The second room also couldn’t sleep because, despite \"soundproofing\" being listed as an amenity, street noise continued until 4 a.m. No one came to check the broken A/C the next day, and by 4:30 p.m. we booked another hotel—unwilling to suffer another night. The assistant manager was visibly upset we were checking out early—not quite berating, but close. She said we should have asked to move rooms before rebooking. But we were told someone would come fix the unit, and no one did. It’s unclear why we were responsible for requesting a move after that. If no one was coming to repair the A/C, they should have proactively moved us. I requested a refund for the unused night, especially since the room did not match what was advertised. It was denied. No offer, no compensation—only an apology prefacing how we were somehow to blame for their broken A/C.

I got room 101 . Probably the only room on the 1st floor . Next to the conference rooms and right next door to the public bathroom where the people from the conferences seam to congregate so it was loud early in the morning and if you are happen to be showering during conference hours you’ll burn with the hot water from the shower as they flush the toilet in that public bathroom. Also I reported a musty foul smell so they diligently sent the cleaning person with something that looked like windex ( multipurpose cleaner) as room freshener . Also there is a thermostat in the room but no AC exhausts only vent that didn’t seamed to blow any air so if it’s hot outside you might wanna get a different room since also the windows are facing the hotel indoor lobby so you can’t open them and since that room is directly in front of the conference rooms you might wanna keep your black out curtains closed at all times for privacy. Over all terrible value for the price

Yellow water coming out taps & bath. Went to bar for 241 aperol and were given a bill in full, was told we should have said before we ordered?!

The Urbanist bar directly opposite the hotel was extremely noisy. Our room was facing the bar which was open until 2am. After the bar shut people leaving the bar were not considerate and continued to hang around well after 3am. We had complimentary earplugs provided by the hotel on our beds upon arrival which says it all. The rroom and bedding also smelt of cigarette smoke.

This hotel is centrally located in the old city. It’s the perfect spot to explore Bucharest from. The hotel is just off a main road that runs through the city. There is a taxi drop off point just outside the hotel; about a 30 second walk away from the hotel entrance. I was a solo female traveller to Bucharest and I felt very safe staying at this location. The hotel room was spacious, clean and the staff were very friendly. There’s lots of options for food around the hotel too. This is the perfect spot to stay if you want to walk around and reach all the main locations to visit in the city.

It is a clean, well run property. Nice and helpful staff . It's in a pedestrian only zone . But a safe pickup place for Uber,Bolt, or taxis us just a few meters away. My only complaint is that they keep it much too warm. The only way to keep the room comfortable was to turn off the heat - it was heated well enough from the hallway.

Very nice Hotel in a great location

Hotel location is great, right in the old town with many bars and restaurants near by.
The hotel itself is really beautiful and very nice staff with high service level.
The only issue was with the aircon, which was on \"winter mode\" which made the rooms too warm with no option to cool it a bit.
In general, its a great place to stay with very high value for money. I recommend.

This hotel is a 2 star… 3 at best. It is in desperate need of a renovation. Let’s ignore that the only thing that worked in the mini fridge was the light, or that the hair dryer was kept together with a zip tie, or that the bottom of the string for the SOS was cut to be 7 feet off the ground, completely defeating the purpose, or that the bed comforter barely covered the top of the bed… but let’s talk hygiene. The mold in the shower was unruly. I witnessed the bartender rinse out glasses, dry them with a towel, and put them away. No soap used or actual washing done. And the hygiene trash cans in the lobby women’s bathroom looked like they hadn’t been changed in a week. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

This is a very modern hotel in the nice Bucharest Old Town. However there were stains all over the carpet in my room and the basin in the bathroom had obviously not been cleaned - I never understand how such a simple thing as keeping rooms clean gets overlooked particularly in a nice hotel like this one. There also seemed to be a problem with the temperature control in the room - the whole hotel seemed too hot but I couldn't set the temperature any lower - it was fixed at 25C

The cleaningness in the room is so terrible, and it seems their carpet didn't clean for couple months, i can see the dust on the top of the catpet, plus I found out some ants in walking around the bathroom.

In addition, when I washed my socks in the sink, then the foam came out from the
bottom around drain outlet area of the floor in the bathroom.

Great location in the old part of the city. Easy to walk to the sights and to buses and Metro. Helpful staff, comfortable rooms Good breakfast selection (though the \"hot\" options were only ever warm). We had one evening meal in the hotel during our 3 day stay which was very good. Highly recommend.

All I could ask for in a hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean and modern room with all the facilities. Excellent location. Very very good value for money.
I must also mention the restaurant. Normally i view hotel restaurants as decent food but nothing to get excited about. The restaurant here served me a delicious smoked duck and salad. Outstanding. Definitely recommend to others

Hotel is lovely and nicely appointed; in a perfect location in the heart of Bucharest. Lots of restaurants, cafes and Carrefour is close by.

Alexandra in Front Office was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Always has a smile. Nothing is too much trouble. Very warm and pleasant personality.

Ana was pleasant and every efficient during checkin and checkout - I was lucky to be served by her both times.

The only draw back was, the hotel needs to invest in new mattress. It is sagging in the middle. As I had a double room, I slept in the middle where the 2 single beds that are placed together. So that made a comfortable sleep every night.

But the wonderful staff made up for this little drawback.

An excellent hotel on the edge of the old town, which couldn't have a better location. 5 minutes from the airport express bus-stop and very close to Manuc's historical inn. Walking distance to everything in the old town.

There is a bar across the street from the front door which is very loud on Saturdays, but if you avoid overlooking that, it's just perfect.

Stayed for 3 nights on a trip with MIL. The room was clean, spacious with all facilities we needed. Nice coffee machine and coffee in the room. Good offering of 'extra facilities' if needed including a toothbrush, sewing kit etc. Reception were also very happy to give us milk for our room (we have milk in our hot drinks) Fridge in room for extra convenience. Nice view from the room and despite being opposite a bar very little noise. Excellent location in the old town itself.

Only downside was that the air con is controlled by the hotel (we would have preferred the room a bit cooler)

We communicated our arrivel time with the staff through a message, they responded quickly to our concerns and when we arrived, the room was ready for check in. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the room and the hotel were clean and we'll maintained. The only thing that has nothing to do with the hotel is the loud music that was coming from the nearby pub.

It’s right in the middle of Old Town, next to Manuc, the oldest inn and now restaurant. There is constant activity around the hotel, a little noisy if you’re noise sensitive, but wonderful energy for city folk.

Food and drink is available till the wee hours of the morning.

The hotel lives up to its 4 star rating. It is centrally located and the staff was friendly. However, on our way out we dropped off 20 post cards. The person at the front desk did not know what to do with them so he just put them on a back counter. I asked him if he was going to send them out and he asked for money for the stamps. I informed him the post cards already had stamps and he didn't seem sure what to do next. Two weeks later post cards sent from locations after Romania to include ones sent from Brasov start arriving at their intended destinations. I emailed the hotel and they assured me they were dropped off at the post office 5 to 6 days after I left. I don't understand why it took so long when they could've just sent them with their outgoing mail. I emailed a month and a half later - still no post cards, not a single one - and they still claim they dropped them off. I do not believe them.
