Undoubtedly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We were a family of 4, with small children. The family room has a sketchy and a wobly set of stairs that brings to the Mezzanine where the bathroom is. I was terrified of my kids falling from the stairs. We had to abandon our reservatiom to seek for a place where at least we could sleep in.

The beds were god awful, they only gave us one pillow, and when I asked for more, The rude staff member said they were fully booked and only had two of the worst pillows I ever had the unfortunate privilege of using.

They advertised a restaurant and room service, but they don't bring the food to the room, nor do you have access to a menu. You have to go downstairs and order and pick up the order.

We spent 2x more than what we paid originally to get emergency accommodations.

My son called this place a Bootel, cause he said it was Boooooooooo. And I agree.

Also, there are no good restaurants nearby, it is in the middle of nowhere.

Who did they bribe to get this 4 star classification, that was money well paid, cause I wouldnt give it 1 star, let along 4.

I could keep going, but my fingers hurt of how angrily I'm typing this.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS TRAP!!!

The hotel was very accommodating for our late check in. The room was clean and looked the way it did in the photos. There is a shop and hairdesser inside of the hotel. The pool was the best part. It was very large and clean. The restaurant stayed open until midnight which was helpful.

Great breakfast and very good variety of pastries and food options, lots of ham and cheese. Breakfast was perfect! Pool was very good, nice deckchairs, and very good hotel. Parking was too small, and not enough parking, cars parked right on top of your door so you can’t get out of your car. Beds were too small and uncomfortable, 2 single beds and 2 single mattress put together and bed kept moving. Hotel was very good, excellent condition.

Lacked basics and comfort

This stay was disappointing. The place is pretty and the staff helpful but the rooms lacked in basics. The pillows were completely flat, we had to hold them in half. No water, tea, hospitality tray, not even glasses in bathroom. Blankets we barely more than sheets and beds rock hard. Elevator from main entry floor to lobby is broken, so had to lug suitcases down a flight of stairs. Not good when one of your party has a bad leg. Wouldn't stay here again.

Good clean hotel. Not sure if it’s much of a destination it’s rather outside of Sevilla. I was on a long drive back from Portugal and it was a convenient place to stop for the night. The room was very hot and the AC didn’t seem to cool it down any there are some nice restaurants not too far away overall I think it was a fine place to stay.

First of all the reception desk staff were great. But the upper management of this hotel is greatly lacking. This hotel is basically a bus stop for tours.. there were as few as 3 many as 7 buses each night.
The noise was horrible and I had very little sleep each night. The rooms are not sound proof and you can hear from the rooms adjacent and above. When I complained about the noise I was told there was no other room that I could be moved to and they had received many complaints.
I would never recommend this hotel, this was the absolute worst experience I have ever had, the management needs a serious change.

Excellent value for money close to Seville

Close to explore Seville but avoid crazy city prices. Car is needed however to get around. Extraordinarily large rooms with a split duplex bedroom and living quarters. Both Air cons worked well in the room and the hotel was well proportioned for restaurants and cafes and shopping. Shame that the pool was closed in April. Rooms are noise proof which was perfect as there were fans visiting for the copa del rey final.

Property doesn’t live up to the splendor it obviously used to be. Maintenance is lacking in many areas, from elevator buttons that are broken to a shower that wobbles and has little flow. Staff don’t seem concerned. I appeared at desk using a cane for mobility and I was issued a room with a loft - stairs needed to access the bedroom and washroom. What??? Not impressed.

It s the worst experience in all my life. The enter to my room at 00h00 without my permission and they took a bed. We found a lot of bedbugs ( video as proof ) , until 3am you can not sleep a lot of noise especially teenage also they nocked the doors and they run ( as kids) ............

The staff were superb. They went out of their way to be helpful. Great 3 course menu del dia in the restaurant for €12. A la Carte available as well. Hairdresser and shop and good access for disabled travellers. A great stopover.

We enjoyed our 6 day stay. Friendly staff provided good service. Breakfast is good, but could get noisy and disorderly due to tourists' behavior. Bathroom is clean, but when you flush the toilet bowl, there seems to be an offensive odor emanating from the somewhere. We had to frequently use an air freshener to get rid of this odor.
We enjoyed dinner at the hotel restaurant and would like to commend excellent service provided by Encarni. At breakfast, we would like to commend Lola for her attentiveness to our requests. At the reception, we would like to thank Paloma and Jaime for their help, much appreciated.

It's a nice hotel but it needs an update

It's a nice hotel but it it feels dated, the first time I was in this hotel was 10 years ago and it hasn't changed at all. One low point is the rubish bins overflowing were the parking is which gives a bad impression. It needs a big refresh.

Quiet & Away from Sevilla

It was about 14-16km away from Sevilla. Quiet good area. We had the loft. The washroom and two single beds in the loft area was warm/hot, while the two single beds at the main floor had the coolest spot when we opened the windows. The three boys ended sharing in the main area while I slept alone upstairs.

Parking was aplenty and free. Staff was super friendly; guided us with buses to main downtown areas and even ordered pizza for us in Spanish!! The hotel cat in the lobby was equally welcoming and friendly :)

Great pool, although no balls or inflatables allowed. Could do with a bit of sprucing up generally, but the room was good and clean. Restaurant had a menu del dia for 10 euro per head. Easy to get to Seville on the bus or train about 40 mins (bus stop is right outside hotel). Loads of good food and bars around the town but hardly any English spoken (I thought Vento Paso was overrated). Thoroughly enjoyable stay in a friendly Spanish hotel.

Disappointing overall

A hotel which has seen better times.
Be warned that it is now a bus tour stop and a children's tour stop.
This meant it was extremely noisy and meant we had trouble sleeping on two nights. The children screamed and carried on until after midnight.
Also extremely disappointed that the pool was closed until end June and we had no access. Because of my medical need to swim this was one of the main reasons for booking the hotel.
It is however cheap!

The receptionist was so helpful, she was rushed off her feet at times as on her own, on arrival the desk was not manned. The menu was limited and stopped serving at 11pm. The beds were hard. The cold platter for breakfast is OK, the warm items are best avoided.

This hotel is about 25-30 min outside of Sevilla by car. We thought we would be saving money but ended up loosing a lot of time driving. I was also disappointed that the pool was empty... yes I understand that it was May and not technically summer yet, but it was still warm

This hotel must have one of the best value ratings in Europe. For under £20 per night/person you receive more than adequate accommodation, a clean room, free Wi-Fi, and good service.

Add to that the fact that San Lucar is a strategic base for visiting the Andalucía region, on the main rail line between Seville and Huelva, and you have pretty much a winning combination. Highly recommended!

We stayed a week at Exe Gran Hotel Solucar in October 2014. Not equivalent to a 4* hotel in the UK - would rate as 2* tops, although appears to have been a grand hotel in the past. This hotel seems to be mainly a transit point for coaches.Just needs investment, tlc,repair and decoration. Furniture can be described at best as a little worn and must be due for replacement.
Limited room facilities. For Britishers, no tea/coffee facilities in rooms. Rooms can be noisy - generally caused by inconsiderate guests...but room design does not help because of metal staircases in certain rooms - with all the attendant noise they bring..do not expect to sleep well beyond 6am. Pool was closed when we were there in early October.
Concur with other reports regarding breakfast.Think continental not British, which is probably fair enough, although scrambled egg and bacon / sausage is provided, in a fashion. Breakfast menus were depleted and not automatically replaced once the coaches had sorted themselves out.
However the staff could not have been more obliging from the receptionists to all restaurant managers and cleaners. Can't fault at all.
Hotel is really handy for the bus into Seville, which is excellent value - at the time of writing was 1.65 euros. Not worth the hassle of driving in.
Can summarise as functional, good for a weekend, short stay or business stop-off. However did represent good value for money and would probably stay again but only for two or three days

Hotel for family stay in San Lucar (Seville)

This is a hotel we return to time and again because of its good combination of adequate facilities and comfort, and price. Having our grandchildren close by, the hotel is an ideal stopping place. It is not deluxe, but it offers all that we need - quiet, perfectly adequate room facilities, free Wi-Fi, and a staff that do their jobs quietly (we hardly notice them). As far as the restaurant goes, breakfast is buffet style, with more than adequate provision. We have not tried other meals there.

For anyone who needs a quiet place to stay, with all necessary facilities, this is the place to stay. It is a few minutes walk from the railway station on the main Huelva-Seville line.

Hotel fitted well for our requirements. Clean, quiet, friendly staff, spacious bedroom, good sized bathroom, air-conditioning and affordable. Parking was free and on-site, pool was very refreshing and quiet after a day of Seville sight-seeing. Breakfast was generous with a good selection. Wifi worked well and was free. You do need a car as this hotel is about 15 - 20km from Seville - it's an easy drive mainly on highways so not a real issue we felt. We enjoyed our stay and in fact ended up booking 2 extra nights. We recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again. We did not have an evening meal at the hotel - there are several small cafes/restaurants in the town. Hotel staff are happy to suggest places to eat. We recommend a drive through the town to the hill at the other side - views of the Solar towers is quite special.

Very good hotel if you take quality to price. The only disadvantage is location ~20 km from Sevilla and ... some noice - we had the room with two floors - shouting people, children running on stairs in neigbouring rooms etc. all this stuff was highly propagated and was bored after midnight or at 7-8 am (if you wanted to take rest).
The rest was fine - restaurant, swimming pool, comfortable 2-floor room, free wi-fi, free parking and staff speaking English ;-)

I didn't read the other reviews thoroughly enough and mistakenly thought this hotel was central to Seville. It's not, it's actually 16klms from Seville, which is easy with a car, but made staying in 'Seville' a little different. Rooms are huge for family rooms and everything works and is in good order, just that the towns near the hotel are depressing, little places with nothing to offer. Seville on the other hand is amazing.

Great location for Seville

We chose this hotel for its easy access to Seville - there is a bus every half hour from the bus stop directly outside the hotel. There is also good parking (we had a hire car but didn't want to take it into the city). It's also just half an hour's drive to get to Coto Donana for great birding. Staff were very helpful and generally spoke good english to make up for our poor spanish. Evening meal menu was restricted (a number of dishes weren't available) but there was a daily fixed price 3-course meal at 12E. Miguel in the restaurant was great at guiding us through the menu and finding good wines to go with the food. We booked a romantic room (double bed) and were delighted to have a half bottle of cava in the room when we checked in - a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again.

I can only say from all the bookings in Spain this hotel has BIG rooms. My room was attached to another room that the only separation was a double door with a 1 cm gap in the middle that been said, I could hear everything my neighbor was saying, thankfully they weren't so noisy, also if I wanted to I can see in between the gaps of what they were doing. Bathroom floor was full of hairs, and the water!. you adjusted the water temperature to a certain degree and you will get ice cold water or boiling water at times, it was so inconvenient to take a shower without getting burned. Hotel is 20 min on car to main downtown of Sevilla, and its located in a nice town. it took us awhile to find the hotel but asking and asking we finally found it. Parking is no problem.

Convenient if you dont mind a bus ride to the city

This hotel is located west of the city centre but we found it easy to get to from the motorway and it has free parking. Its an easy 45 min bus ride into the Seville bus station (Plaza de Armas) however the bus stop is directly outside the hotel reception. We requested a double bed however ended up with two singles which we pushed together and the TV does not have any english channels. Bathroom was clean & modern, room is equipped with a mini-bar/fridge and the staff were very polite and helpful. The exterior of the hotel is in need of a facelift (they were still renovating the pool) and the carpets could do with an upgrade. Overall this hotel suited our needs perfectly as we enjoyed staying out of Seville city centre - would recommend.

Far from City Center but Reasonable Price

Gran Hotel Solucar provided a reasonable price over the Semana Sanata Easter holiday week when all the city center hotels were either sold out or priced too high.

We were traveling with 2 children and the hotel provided spacious room; in fact a 2-room upstairs/downstairs studio, big enough for 5-6 people. It was by far the most spacious accomodation we stayed in during our trip throughout Spain.

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The food at the restaurant was good. There was free wi-fi in the room.

The hotel was 10-14 miles from the city center. On our way in the taxi from the Plaza de Armas bus station cost about 30 euros. The day we left, it cost about 58 euros to the Santa Justa train station. We noticed on that day the taxi was running at tariff rate 2.2 or 220% more than the tariff 1 rate. Not sure why that was--perhaps the day of the week (Saturday) and time of the day (7:20 a.m.).

There's a bus stop for the M-166 bus right in front of the hotel that takes you to the Plaza de Armas bus station for just 1.5 euro. If you can avoid the taxi, this provides a much more reasonable alternative to high priced city center hotels. Check with the front desk for the bus schedule. I believe it runs on the hour almost all day up to midnight.

There's not much near the hotel but we dined at a local restaurant one night and it was decent. If you're on a short stay in Sevilla and will be spending most of your day in town, you could stay in this hotel and catch the bus to town and back. It will save a ton compared to the city center hotel rates. Also, you'll see a little different scenery on your bus rides back and forth through small towns/neighborhoods which is nice.

We noticed this throughout Spain that when we were traveling (Easter week), the hotels were still running the heaters or just air but not air conditioners yet. But, the temperatures inside were getting warm and uncomfortable sometime. We kept a couple of windows open to be able to sleep at night but by early morning it would get a bit chilly. We faced this problem in every hotel we stayed in Barcelona, Granada, and also in Turkey where we went next.

Overall, this was a pleasant stay and I'd recommend the hotel for its reasonable price (half to one third of what the city center hotels were asking) and spacious, clean rooms.

Hotel in the countryside.

This hotel is situated 18km from Seville. A large establishment catering to coach tours and travellers with cars. Car parking is plentiful and free. A bus stops outside the hotel for a 30min semi express drive to Seville bus station about 10mins walk to the Cathedral(fare approx 2 euros). My stay was in late october and the pool area was closed and the hotel quite empty.The hotel looks a little tired but the staff try hard to make up for its drawbacks. Dinner can be purchased in the hotel but I suggest eating before the busses arrive.The town a ten minute walk down the street and offers a very good local restaurant inexpensive and good local atmosphere. Supermarkets are also in this area.
Ideal hotel for those travelling by car not wanting to drive in SEvilla and staying 2 to 3 nights. The area is quiet and the back rooms look out over fields.

Good for Seville.

Very easy to find, just head to Sanlucar la Mayor and its on the roundabout just on edge of town. Plenty of parking and very helpful English speaking staff. Landings were a bit worn but they were still very clean. Room was good and also very clean.
Food in restaurant was fine as was breakfast, also good restaurant opposite for Tapas and wine at reasonable prices. Not much in Sanlucar. The bus stop to Seville is outside the front entrance and with buses every half hour for the 40 minute journey to Seville at just over one euro it would be pointless to even attempt to take a car into Seville. Would definitely stay here again as a base for the area and with these unbeatable prices.

Hotel Solucar is very far from Sevilla. I make reservation for two rooms on May 24, 2011. The employee’s attention is excellent, also the foods, but Hotel condition is depressing. Although the weather was very hot they have not air condition at that time. They told me that they turn on the air condition in June, not before. The carpets are very old with much broken and have stains of fungi.

This hotel is situated approx 40 mins by bus from Seville so to save extra dollars is great as the bus stop is directly outside the hotel....The hotel rooms are fresh clean and newly refurbished, however thankfully there were 2 doors to open for fresh cool air as the air conditioning was not working.....the rest of the hotel looks like it needs a major overhaul as has been neglected which is a shame and also there was no water in the pool for a swim at temperatures of 28 degrees...there were plenty of brochures but not put out for the patrons easy access...the staff great however and friendly as was the village which was about a 10 minute walk away with great local food on the other side of the train tracks....

Good Value Hotel - close to the motorway

Needed a place to lay my head after arriving on the late flight into Seville with business in Huelva the next morning.

Welcoming English Speaking receptionist.

Easy to find, 2 minutes from the motorway.

Room spotless, recently furnished with nice bathroom and LCD TV with lots of (spanish) channels.

Free WiFi.

Payable breakfast buffet - selection of hot and cold foods.

The place seemed popular with coach trips - probably because it's a bit out of Seville.

Gran Hotel Solucar

Good Location for us - we spent one day in Seville and visited Cota Donana the next so needed a spot in between.

Four star hotel but it has seen better days. The service was good and the staff very friendly and attentive.

But the room was too hot and the breakfast was poor - probably the worst hotel breakfast I have had.

The eggs, bacon and sausage were all stone cold even though we were first in at 7am. The bread and pastries I suspect were a day or two old and had gone a bit stale.

Only 30 minutes by bus to Sevilla Center

Beautiful spacious room with all the amenities. Bus stop to Valencia Center is right out front (only 30 minutes to center). We were able to eat dinner at the buffet prepared for tour groups that was good and very reasonable.

Not much in the way of facilities,

Not much in the way of facilities, only a swimming pool. Staff were very friendly, but bar and restaurant staff had no English. Reception staff were very helpful. Handy for Seville, about 10-15 mins by car. Bus stop outside. Room was quite spacious and clean

The hotel was great value with a nice big room and a nice reception with sofas to sit down in to relax and observe the dayly life :-D It is perfect for a family with children. The room itself was confortable, but there could have been three chairs since we were three people.I would also have liked a wather boiler to make some coffe in the room.

You need a car to stay in this hotel because it was a bit away from Sevilla, but there was plenty of parking spots.

Great place to stay!

The hotel is a little way out of Sevilla, but it's easy to get to by bus and it's great to be able to relax out of the bussle! It's a short walk to San Lucar, and it was lovely starting each morning eating breakfast in the Church Square. Best of all are friendly, helpful, lovely staff at the hotel. Have a great time in Spain!

スタッフの対応が失礼です。レストラン予約して食事をしていたら、レストラン営業時間中なのにスタッフが帰れないので来るなと言われた。設備も4-starsではなく2-starsレベル。駐車場は団体客向けのバスが区画を無視して毎日停めてあり、20時過ぎると停められない。

Una estancia muy penosa, solo pase una noche y muy barato pero al final me salió carísimo porque era imposible dormir, las ventanas no cerraban bien y el ruido de una carretera cercana con tráfico incesante era horrible el ruido en la habitación, no pude dormir nada, por eso salió caro.
Luego la ducha rota, el hotel poco cuidado, lo mejor la piscina y el cargador de vehículo eléctrico
