This is an amazing place right in the Square across from the church that Johann Sebastian Bach played in. It was also located close to the Christmas markets and Old Town it was a great place to stay highly recommended. Great staff very quiet. Romantic too

This hotel is located on the same street just opposite St Thomas Church and a couple of doors along from the Bach museum. The Stasi museum is also quite close and extremely interesting from a historical perspective. I was there in August and outdoor dining was plentiful and good. The hotel is quite close to the subway or S-bahn which makes access to the lexic main train station very easy.

Excellent location across a small square from St. Thomas Church, virtually next-door to the Bach museum, and a very short walk to many many other sites. Excellent room with modern large shower and modern finishing. Spacious bathroom with a sitting area and good-sized desk. We had a lovely view over the green courtyard behind the property. Very pleasant library on the main floor, a sauna available to guests, and a good restaurant for breakfast (not sure about other meals as we did not test it out.) Super staff and very comfortable in English. Excellent value.

Beautiful hotel in the same plaza in the Thomaskirche. Perfect for Bachfest. Staff was very helpful, rooms were comfortable and clean with air conditioning, and small gym was nice. Only downside was it was a bit challenging to find, the signage on the front of the hotel could stand out more. This was a bit challenging the 2 times we got food delivery.

If you need morning coffee first thing, and are staying more than one day, you‘ll need to bring not only coffee, but equipment for making it. The first day coffee was complimentary by way of a special machine; unfortunately it takes only special Illy cartridges.

It was exceptionally good value for money given the prime location. The staff were very accommodating and there were some lovely little touches like, complimentary gluwein, fruit, christmas chocolates, a free mini bar and a seemless very late check in. The shower was superb with good temperature control and pressure. The breakfast was delicious with a superb variety of hot dishes. They were also very flexible and would happily provide you with whatever you requested. Our stay was so good we have looked into staying in other hotels of the same chain.

Well-equipped and nicely decorated hotel, perfectly located in the center of Leipzig opposite the Thomas church. The hotel has no parking garage, but the Q-park garage is less than 3 walking minutes away. There's another garage 2 minutes further away, for which the hotel offers a special fare. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the fact that within 2 minutes we were at the heart of the Christmas market. Our (ball)room was in the older part and original beams were visible; room soundproof though. Apart from the hotel Leipzizg surprised us in a very positive way; we'll be back for both!

Perfect stay at a wonderful hotel
Hotel perfectly situated in the center, right across from the Bach statue. I liked its decor, the look and feel of the room and careful attention to details, the generosity (lovely personalized welcome note in the room, free beverages in the mini bar for the first day), and the breakfast - which wasn't cheap, but was very satisfying - and also original, with carefully crafted Hawaiian and Mediterranean morning dishes personally prepared by the Chef. Even the coffee was excellent (local roastery). Last but not least, I'd like to thank the staff, every person I met was super nice, helpful and positive. Very highly recommend. ❤️

We stayed in a Loft room at the back of the property. There was a small kitchen with a hob, table top oven, saucepans, chopping board and knifes. Basic but if you needed you could cook something simple. There was also a coffee machine, kettle, cups and fridge. The bed was large and very comfortable. The window overlooked the courtyard at the back and opened to a Juliet balcony. It was generally quiet except for a little noise from people going home on the Friday and Saturday night. The bathroom was a good size with a large bath and a good shower. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were provided. The room also has a Manduka yoga mat, and enough room to use it. We didn’t really use the tv but it would have been nice if it had some kind of Google chrome cast to let you watch your own streaming services.

Everything about this place exceeded my expectations. As I exited my hotel, I saw the Bach Museum on my left and the Church Bach played at (and where his remains are) directly in front of me. There is also Auerbachs Keller and a lovely busy tourist area within 2 blocks or so. There is a mini-bar that is free and has four great Germany-specific drinks. (I think it’s the only hotel I’ve ever been in that is cool enough to do something like this. I’m not sure why every other hotel has to nickel and dime customers.) The service was fantastic. They held my bags for several hours after I did an early check out, but wanted to see the city in all its glory. My room had a nice musical score painted on the back of my wall (assuming from Bach). I was not expecting to like this hotel more than so many other hotels I’ve stayed in the past, especially given that Leipzig is not a huge city in terms of size, but I would highly recommend this place to everyone planning on visiting Leipzig.

Our family had a great two-night stay in Leipzig. Everyone at the hotel was incredibly friendly and helpful: though we were not German-speakers everyone at Hotel reception spoke English, and Carl was patient with our short-comings as international travelers. The room was excellent, quiet with very comfortable beds and a wonderful bathroom with standup shower! The location was perfect for us since JS Bach sights were high on our list of activities: right across the street from St. Thomas's, right next to the Bach Archive/Museum, and less than a five minute walk to the downtown area shopping and restaurants. We were able to frequently return to our room during our daily activities to freshen up, drop off purchases, or refill our water bottles: it was great having a \"home base\" nearby.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I love the music of Bach and was delighted to look up from my breakfast table and see the Thomaskirche and the familiar statue of Bach. I was able to drop in on rehearsals for the Bach Festival during the week and to attend a top-notch performance. From this location it was easy to walk to other Leipzig sites. The breakfast was varied and full. I used the free washer and dryer in the basement (important to know that German machines take much longer than in US). The staff was extremely competent and helpful. I tried to use my German but quickly realized that their English was much better. My greatest challenge was learning how to turn on the lights in my room. Also the duvets (bedding) typical in German hotels are too warm for me. The room is modern, simple and clean.

We were in Leipzig to get our son settled at the Univ of Leipzig and found the Ancona to be our perfect \"base camp\". Hotel staff was friendly, rooms were spacious and cleaned daily, restaurant was handy and delicious and the location was perfect being across from Thomaskirchen and close to shops/center of town

This hotel was the highlight of our European trip in terms of lodging. It was comfortable, spacious, beautiful, and practical. Perfect location for exploring the Bach-related sites in Leipzig, and convenient for other sites as well. Cantate suite had all the amenities: kitchenette; dining table; spacious closet; sofa and chair; AC; plenty of outlets; very comfortable bed; full bathroom with tub and shower; etc. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great hotel with apartment rooms so very useful for those who only want a small breakfast (close to a supermarket). We were put in the wrong room initially and as the hotel was full we couldn'5 be moved to the correct room until the next day so we're treated to a delicious dinner in their restauarant. Very friendly and helpful staff. Ideally placed for the Bach Museum and Thomaskirch and near to lots of other main attractions as Leipzig centre is quite small and easily covered on foot.

Lovely hotel - ideal location
The hotel is in such a great location, just a minute's walk from the market square. The Bach theme was a nice touch, with music staves on the wall above the bed. It's also right opposite the Thomaskirche and next to the Bach Museum. Staff were friendly and accommodating for my broken German, and were happy to speak English.

You can't beat the location of this hotel to St. Thomas Church if you are a Bach fan. The hotel itself was comfortable and pleasant. The breakfast was overpriced though.
