Hotel is not air-conditioned. Unfortunately my stay coincided with a heat wave. I was able to move to a room on the cooler side of the building. Leaving the window open was precluded by street noise.

Hotel is good but stuff need to be more understanding when they have a client with diabetes because during the night I ask the receptionist/ security for something with sugar and she told me that the bar is closed. What I need just something with sugar. And she gave me mint water .

The location is perfect right next to the main station. My room had a small balcony and an excellent view. The location does produce noise due to the trains but with some ear plugs I slept very well. Breakfast is fantastic.

We happened to be staying in Leipzig on the night of the Festival of Lights which made getting to the property nearly impossible. We spent almost 4 hours trying to find our way into the city and to nearby parking. While this isn't the hotel's responsibility, we certainly would have appreciated better directions and help. Once we finally arrived, we had a difficult time getting the key to our room to work -- not something we really wanted to deal with after all the trouble we had just getting there!

Leipzig is a compact city so the location was excellent - very close to the historical centre as well as the train station.
The staff were friendly and courteous. The room was in a very good condition - it was really spacious with a really nice bathroom and a walk in shower. The equipment was also really good.
The only downside was that I had to use an old fashion key rather than a swipe card which would have taken less space in my pocket :-) Otherwise, the service was pretty good and professional.

2 day autumn visit
We wanted a good quality, reasonably priced hotel close to the railway station for an early departure and we got all we were seeking. The only deficit is its lack of air conditioning which on hot autumn days is significant.

A very good overnight stay hotel.
This hotel was selected as it was close to the train station and seemed to be good value. We were using it as an overnight stop after a long overnight flight from Hong Kong and then a 4 hour train trip. It was a good choice on both counts. The room was quite comfy, the breakfast was very good and the room facilities were okay although a bar fridge would have been handy. The hotel staff were very helpful and the booking in time was minimal. The hotel totally served its purpose for our trip.

Everything about the hotel is quite nice. Having the hot breakfast included in the room rate is particularly nice as this can cost you up to €15 per person at most European hotels. Strong pluses: A three minute walk from the train station, an easy ten minute walk to the main square. The downside: no air conditioning. We had to sleep with all the windows wide open all night and this made it noisy at times.

They checked us in rooms facing the street, and it was too noisy. They don't have a ventilation system, so the rooms are really humid, plus they don't have any A/C so we had to sleep with the windows open. We had a problem with the bathroom sink, it was blocked, therefore we couldn't wash properly. The shower door got stuck and we had to slam the door in order to open it. The only positive thing about our stay was the breakfast. They have a great breakfast, but still we really didn't enjoy our stay. The staff was helpful, but didn't even offer any discounts for our stay, even tho we asked for it. If you are looking for a quite stay, don't choose this hotel.

This hotel is at the edge of the center of the city, so it is an easy walk to the shops, to the churches, etc. The hotel is fantastic. Very professional and helpful staff. The rooms are comfortable, sound isolation was perfect. The breakfast was SUPERB! Internet was ok. An interesting and unexpected plus: unlimited free calls to any country, landlines, mobile phones etc from the room. Really nice!

We again enjoyed Leipzig and our first stay at this Hotel. It is very convenient in city centre, near main station, main tram stops, shops, numerous musical opportunities, Christmas Markets, museums, Churches, etc., etc
The Hotel itself had lots of character in the public rooms and the well designed, quiet bedrooms contained very comfortable beds. The whole Hotel was spotlessly clean, staff friendly and helpful, and kindly spoke in English for us. As is often the case in Germany take your own tea making things if you like the option in your room.

Across the street from the train station. With the tracks to your back, go left out the side door and it is across the street on the corner. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We had a triple room with three single beds and still had plenty of room for luggage, etc. the breakfast buffet was very good as well.i would recommend this hotel

We had trouble with internet connection the first 2 days we were there (arrived on a weekend), but it was fixed on the 3rd day when IT support worked on it.

The hotel is located in a perfect spot - right across from the train station. It's easy to get around the City from here, the staff are very nice, the breakfast is great, and the rooms are an okay size. The problem we had, though, is that without any A/C, it's tough to sleep in the really warm weather.

Great historic hotel across street from train
This 100+ year-old beautiful hotel is in a great location right across the street from the Hauptbahnhof and several tram and bus lines. Breakfast had a vast selection of delicious hot and cold dishes. It's one tram stop from the opera house and symphony, Leipzig University, and museums of the composers Mendelsohn and the Schumanns.

Comfortable stay at the heart of the city
The room was clean and spacious, albeit a little dated. Ours was facing an inner courtyard so it was very peaceful even with the windows open at night. The room gets quite warm and there is no air conditioning, however the windows do open fully. The hotel location is perfect by the main railway station and it offers excellent facilities and services. Staff are helpful and the breakfast is also very nice and varied. Overall a great hotel!

We were here for WGT for the first time. This hotel was perfectly located. The staff was very helpful. Daniel, the bartender turned us on to a local specialty drink. The breakfast was awesome! !! The room's air conditioning was not very strong, but leaving your window open helped with this. also a double bed is exactly that, 2 beds side by side. Overall, our stay was awesome and we will certainly be back!

We booked this hotel primarily for its location, close to where our son lives in Leipzig, but we couldn't have been happier with all aspects: size, comfort, convenience, service and amenities. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating, the room was nearly perfect in size and very clean and comfortable. The other main factor for us was the breakfast buffet that was included in our booking. We really enjoyed this feature - nothing better than a well-appointed, efficiently run breakfast to start the day. The food was consistently good and freshly prepared each day, with excellent attention from the waitstaff - made it feel more like a served breakfast than a buffet.

This is a good hotel for price though slightly dated. The location is good for a city centre break and is across the road from the main line station. It was quiet at night. The bedroom (double) was a good size with a well designed bathroom. There is no tea and coffee making facilities. The exterior of the building and the general corridors could do with some attention

Excellent location if you're coming from the train station. It's an easy 5 min. walk to downtown action and tourist sites.
Hotel is very nice, excellent service and breakfast was wonderful! Biggest issue was that the cooling system in the room really didn't push any air or do anything to cool the room. Room was very well appointed, clean and ready for our arrival (we asked for a roll out for our 8 year old).

So called 4*, NO A/C with temp of 34 degrees in evening. We had to ask for a fan at least to cool room down, well not very successfull.
On arrival while waiting in a queue (at 12.00) everybody got a glass of champagne and the keys for their rooms. When it was our turn she even didn't check her computer, she only told us your room is not ready before 15.00. And no champagne for us. We left our luggage and went into town. Due to the heat we couldn't manage very long. On arriving back we got the same 15.00 answer. Now I was insisting she should check her computer yo and behold our room was ready at 14.15.
We complained about it when we left she only asked us if we would like a glass of champagne now. She didn't want yo understand that it wasn't a glass of champagne but the whole treatment.
I don't think it was a communication problem since I am German and and speak my mother tongue perfectly well.
The nicest person in the whole hotel was the cleaning lady on our floor.

Only an overnight stay to attend an opera. Convenient location to the opera house and the train station which is across the street. We did not notice noise from the trains although a train strike was taking place at the time. Excellent breakfast. The room was comfortable and clean.

Great service-oriented hotel in Leipzig
I selected this hotel because it was ideally located next to the train station. When I arrived, I was greeted with a warm beverage (it was winter). The hotel staff were all very friendly and provided excellent service. The gentleman at the reception desk explained how to get to my room and use the room key (it isn't a key card but some weird kind of magnetic door key) but when I found my room, I still couldn't figure it out so I had to ask the maid to show me. The food in the hotel restaurant is excellent and the service there is superlative. There is a lot of construction going on in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, and loads of trams ran by my window too, but I must've been really tired because I wasn't disturbed by the noise. I felt perfectly safe in the neighborhood and even did a bit of wandering around in the morning.

Tired, but still alive, noisy when hot
The staff were excellent, very accommodating and eager to please. The property does not have air conditioning, but nobody told us until we checked out despite our telling them that nothing happened when the thermostats in the room were turned down. They just said it wasn't working and offered a fan. I am sure it is very warm and cosy in the winter, but in a warm May weekend with temperatures in the mid 20's, the rooms were hot and stuffy. Unhappy with the gloominess of the first suite, they moved us to the 'wedding' suite with lighter décor. There were plenty of windows to make the room cooler, but then you have the noises of the trams and traffic all night. I have had far better value for money in hotels in many other parts of Germany. If you are travelling to Leipzig, maybe stick with the big chains who have international standards to live up to and clientele to retain. The prevailing German attitude that they don't need air conditioning for the 'twelve hot days a year' is wearing very thin and I am fed up with hearing it, if they want to attract international travellers they have to provide international standards. Frugality has no place in hotels boasting 4 stars and above.

Victor's Residenz Hotel was very conveniently located, right next to the station. Normally, this would have put me off as large railway stations are sometimes a bit rough, but this was different. The entire of Leipzig is so small that nowhere is very far away. Additionally, the enormous station has clearly been recently renovated.
I was welcomed with a glass of Apfelschorle, given my key and numerous bits of information from friendly staff. My room was large and, though not overly flash in terms of furniture, immaculately clean. Breakfast is included, which is unusual nowadays. Despite being included there was still a wide range of breakfast choices.

This hotel is extremely well located next to the train station and major tram hub. You can get anywhere in the city quite easily. Hotel was probably a 4 star by European standards. The negatives: bed and linens were not very comfortable, gave very few towels, no a/c which wouldn't normally be a problem, except that I visited during a heat wave.

The Victor's Residenz hotel in Leipzig is a very welcoming, well-managed hotel. It's right across the street from the main train station that has trains to the Leipzig-Halle airport, to Berlin, Dresden and all over Germany. It's also only a 5 minute walk to the Old City center. And their food is very good. Highly recommended.

Very convenient, beside Main Railway Station and Tram Stop for Exibition Venue. Not somewhere I would spend an evening dining. Restaurent very, very quiet. Staff very good, perhaps a little more cumminuction in the Bar would make it a more welcome place to have a drink. The room good size, very clean but no Coffee Making. Free Wi Fi (not taking advantage with residents) thank you for Wifi.

Ah, what this hotel must have been like in days gone by. She has stood on a prominent corner of Leipzig, across from the train station for decades. Although the exterior remains essentially original, the interior is a mix of several interior styles and upgrades throughout the years. One can't help but notice the proximity of the hotel to the train station, and the myriad of local trams which all seem to use the intersection in front of the hotel. It is a noisy, vibrant area and one should be cautioned to request a room on the opposite side of the hotel, away from the streets. Oddly, the hotel charged me 20 euro more to move from my street-side room to a quieter one. Both rooms were exactly the same, so I'm still confused about the upcharge. The immediate neighborhood around and behind the hotel is a little sketchy, but you can get to the terrific city center by walking in the opposite direction, toward the opera house area. The hotels across the park from this one are newer, tall, non-descript glass and steel structures. While their ratings seem to be a bit higher, they lack the character of Victor's. The rooms are clean and classic in design. There was however, a very present sewage smell in both of the rooms, each in completely different parts of the hotel, which leads me to believe the problem isn't isolated. I did not eat in the very empty restaurants within the hotel.

The hotel itself is beautiful, and is conveniently located across the street from the main train station. However, the hotel is bordered on 3 sides by tram tracks, making a quiet room a rare thing. The noise from the tram tracks was thunderous. It was also a hot day, but opening the windows would have made the noise from the trams deafening. There is no air-conditioning.
