First room was dirty. As a matter of practice they do not make the bunk beds between stays. A slight issue if traveling with 3 year old twins. Parking is extremely limited but there is an parking lot accross the street. No where to unload bags however.

This is a hostel - so adjust your expectations. But overall comfortable and safe great location close to train station. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were clean. If you are looking for a reasonably priced place to spend the night this does the job.

It was a swift decision to stay overnight,so not much options,served few hours to sleep and move onwards as very close to the railway station, otherwise can't say much as the price is quite steep for the facilities in the room , toilet cleanliness need to be addressed

安い、片側３車線の道路隔ててバスターミナルの真ん前（横断歩道渡ると２００メートルくらいある？）、鉄道駅にも近い。駅ナカはスーパーやらレストランが充実。市街へは歩いて行ける。CNN、MSNBCが映りました。ということを評価して５つ星にしておきます。ただ施設が古い、施設内がどこも暗い、となりの部屋の客の壮大ないびきが聞こえた（これはちょっとね）、ベッドサイドにランプがない、といったネガもありましたが、ホステルにちょっと足したようなルームチャージだから良しとしますよ。

It's a cheap hostel and it should be taken into consideration while booking. The building itself is quite old but the refurbishment was done on the cheap. The overall cleanness is poor. The room was very hot and no fan or air-conditioning ( you can rent a fan at the reception). The bathroom is microscopic. There was construction work going on literally outside our room. It's also a noisy street with cars and trams going into late at night.

Beautiful building, decently maintained. Fantastic location that allowed me to quickly head over to the station for a 6 AM train. The washing machine was quite expensive (8 euros!), but I gather this is the norm among European hostels.

From my experience there weren't a ton of people gathering in the common space, so it wasn't a great place for meeting people.

Central and convenient location, just 2min walk from the train station, with city centre easily accessible on foot.
As all a&o's, the room is rather small and simple. But it covers the basics, it's clean, bathroom in good condition and my room was fairly quiet.
Overall a good value for money and I'd be happy to stay again.

It was nice but as weather was sunny and hot… its not easy without anything to stay longer in room… otherwise its very simple and minimalistic, u have everything what u need for overnight or max 3 nights, more i could not recommend… hard to be without anything just bed and toilet… and small tv i could not use also

Hot water NOT included

I EXPECT HOT WATER to be INCLUDED in the PRICE of a hotel room. At a&o Leipzig it is not.

We stayed between Christmas and New Years. During our stay the Hot water was turned off (no water came out of the hot pipes). I informed the staff. No discount was offered. No replacement room was offered. No alternative place to take a hot shower was offered. The hot water was not turned back on before we left.

It is not ok to expect guests to take pure cold water showers when it is below freezing outside.

Do not stay here!

Great gem next to rail station.

This is my second stay at this hotel. The staff is great and was accomodating to a late night (9pm) pizza request. Very cool sofa in the lobby made of an old car from Soviet days. Rooms are bare bones but very adequate. They let me check in very early (before noon). The hotel is very convenient to the rail station (Haupbahnhoff) and downtown.

Great hostel in a great location, but noisy!

The employees were very nice and friendly. They even have a 24 hr bar! My private room was just fine. It even came with basic internet access. I didn't stream any movies, but if it's too slow, higher speed internet is available for a small fee. The only problem I had was the street noise. My room was next to the street, and there were alarms all night and early morning construction right in front of my room. Honestly, I only got 4 hrs sleep a night, at most. So make sure you ask for a room in the back. I did not eat breakfast here since Germany has so many delicious bakeries everywhere!

Building architecture is great.

The hotel building seems like former large organization's. Very spacious and it has a feel of German pre-war art. A O Hotel has consistent system everywhere, so it was easy for repeater to stay.

We enjoyed our stay ,one problem was there was a school trip also staying, at 10pm we had to ask the children near our room to quite down and stop slamming doors .breakfast was good staff helpful .positon central to all that we wanted to visit.Staff locked our luggage away to enable use to utalise our time prior to our afternoon train .they also booked our next hotel .

I stayed here with my husband and two children in a family room. The location could not be beat (we came in via train). The staff were friendly and capable. The room was a good size and had bunk beds for our kids. The bathroom was small and fully functional. The breakfast was a great deal. The bar and seating area was nice. This isn't a luxury hotel, but you absolutely cannot beat the price. If I find myself again in Leipzig, I will stay here without hesitation.

May have been coloured somewhat by the quality of other hotels in my trip having increased up to Leipzig, but this is not that great. Very noisy room by the lifts, light didn't work in the bathroom. It's great for a quick visit, being nice and close to the hauptbahnhof.

Although listed as both a hotel and a hostel, this really is a hostel that has some relatively high priced hotel rooms. The infrastructure of this place does not equate to hotel quality. The lobby is a bit shabby and extraordinarily noisy at many points during the day, as the hostel parts empty (or re-fill) with parties of youth or tour travelers. The Internet is free in the lobby but they charge for it in rooms and I was unable to get service in the room between about 1800 (6 p.m.) and midnight and between 0700 and 0930. As a result, I paid for Internet in the room but had to go to the noisy lobby in order to actually use the Internet. The public area of the hotel (lobby and bar/restaurant attached to it) is a bit rundown and my room had two lights that did not work. Chairs in the room were plastic - the sort you would use as lawn chairs outside. The lavatory and shower were separate rooms and both were very compact (small and narrow). The redeeming value of the A&O is that it is across the street/parking lot from Leipzig's central train station.

We were very pleasantly surprised! I was there with my 19 year old daughter and we both were very happy with the hotel! The convenience of being directly across from the train station,tram transport and the city center was perfect. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and hot shower. Internet is free in the lounge area, which is fine, but we needed it more so paid 8 Euro for 2 days and nights. There were no other taxes or fees-it was exactly as I booked online with Expedia. The staff was very helpful-I request the possibility of a very quiet room and they changed our room to a corner view with a great view of the lovely train station. They also helped us by loaning a converter, as I did not have one for Germany. We also very much liked that the hotel supported the special needs population-there were a few hotel cleaning staff with down syndrome. I would highly recommend this hotel. Do not have any hesitation due the title Hostel/hotel.

Good hotel next to the station

A well priced hotel right next to the main train station. It has free wifi in the lobby (but some of the rooms on the first floor can pick it up), beds are ok, small but clean bathroom and the breakfast (for additional) cost is one of the best value that I have seen. I would definitely stay here again.

Really good, clean, recommendable hostel.

Nice big, bright, clean room. Good heating (can turn it on/off, up/down). Big window.
Quiet for a good sleep. Television included. Towels and Linen included (even though it is a hostel). Decent selection of food and drinks for regular prices in the lobby bar. Did not have the breakfast- it was not included but cost around 6 euros. Check in and check out were smooth. Internet was inexpensive and good connection. There is wireless in all areas and rooms, as well as computer that you can use in the lobby. Good location near hauptbahnhof.
If I have to stay in Leipzig again I would stay here.

Great Value for Money at A&O Leipzig

Really enjoyed my stay at the at A&O Leipzig. I was on a business trip but do not want to charge the client more than necessary, and have an aversion against posh and pretentious hotels. Loved the gesture of a free 'welcome drink' voucher. Great, sensible breakfast buffet at 6 Euro. My allocated room was next to the reception which was a bit noisy - I did not mind but if noise sensitive request something on the upper floors... really looking forward to my next stay at an A&O!

The hotel is close to the central station. I have booked a room with private shower. The room size is acceptable, but not very spacious in particular to the bathroom. The facilitate is quite alike with a hostel. The room is clean. As my room was at the 2/F, which was a floor height above the garden lounge. Noise from the guests was inevitable. The reception staff could speak fluent English and they were very helpful . The hotel gave me a surprise that a welcome drink was offered to guests. I shall re-book this hotel if I need a hotel room proximal to the Leipzig Hauptbahnhof.

Party Hotel for the Young

If you are a teenager or young 20-something this would be a great hotel for you. However, if you aren't look for the all night kegger in your room don't book here. This hotel is extremely loud - people up all night, running the halls, and vomiting for over indulging in alcohol. You decide.

Since the beginnig I realice was a good choice. The hotel its located almost in front of the Central Train Station (Hauptbahnhof), so it was very easy to get to the hotel by walking (like 3 minutes). The hotel service was very good. The girl in the front desk was very nice and helpfull. (All the staff of the hotel speaks english). The buffet breakfast was very good.

This is a marginal 2 star hotel. The internet service was down my entire stay. It is also a student hostel. At one point when I came in there were perhaps 100 students in the lobby. Another time a large, adult tour group. The room I was in was not very quiet. The TV was smallish and mounted way up on the wall. The breakfast was normal. The location excellent. But I would not stay there again.

the room was basic with a very small ensuite bathroom.very close to the train station and an ideal place to stay to explore, the staff where friendly and very helpful plus there was a bar which never seemed to close :) if you want something basic and clean as a base to explore go for it, but if your wanting lots of frills forget it.
friends of mine stayed in the novatel and paid nearly £200 more and they got a mini bar extra for there money, go for it and enjoy

Hostel-Hotel Near Train Station

The hotel is situated in a great location next to the main train station (Hauptbahnhof). The interior of the building is bright and modern. Though the room was large enough, the bathroom was rather small, with only a shower, and no bathtub. The TV in the room was mounted in an awkward position quite high up on the wall. But all in all, it was a great central overnight location for day trips out of Leipzig by train. And having breakfast included was very convenient.

very impressed

stayed here for three nights with my daughter. very easy to locate just opposite train station. the staff on reception could not have been more helpful. they were happy to answer any queries and all spoke perfect english. the room was basic but very clean. there were all age groups staying here from teenagers to family with young children right up to retired people. this was our first experience of this type of accomodation we most certainly will be returning.

A large old building near to the main Railway Station. Very close to the centre of the city. A good conversion job. Very clean. Although basic, everything in 'Ikea' style, it was functional and all worked. Room rather narrow,but shower/bathroom was good. Only criticism - TV on wall almost at ceiling height. All staff were young, but polite and spoke good English. Breakfast buffet was excellent - all fresh, again in 'Ikea' style room. Would come here again.
