An elegant hotel with friendly and kind staff. Room was lovely, service top-notch. Proximity to the city center with trams right outside the door. If I am there again I would certainly choose the Fuerstenhof.

Nice central city hotel but disappointing overall.

A comfortable hotel in a good central location. The staff and the service were excellent. The breakfast room was delightful and the buffet exquisite. However the overall impression was that the hotel itself was a little tired, and it just didn't give a 5 star feel to staying there. Our room was quite small and rather gloomy, and the shower door did not close properly, resulting in a wet floor.

Simply the best

This is simply the best Luxury Collection Hotel we've ever stayed in. This was our third visit. Yo Yo Ma was also in house when we were there. Spoke to him several times. Be sure to check out inner courtyard for indoor dining and steam room sauna and pool on lower level.

Wonderful historic hotel right in Leipzig

The hotel is right on the edge of the old part of Leipzig and it combines a historic building with 5 star luxuries so it's a wonderful combination. The staff are friendly and very professional, the food is very good, and the only criticism is that the mattress on our bed was way too soft for my liking. The hotel room and bathroom were spacious with tons of storage space in the entryway.

This was a nice old hotel, except that it didn't have a restaurant, even though the neon sign advertised one. Rooms were very comfortable and well equipped and there was an excellent pool and sauna. It was convenient for the city.

I've given this hotel 3 out of 5 because although it IS a nice hotel, I was expecting a bit more considering it's a 5 star hotel. Our room had a good-sized bathroom, excellent amount of wardrobe space and plenty of towels (not always the case in some hotels) but the room itself was rather small and the overhead shower wasn't the best either (although the hand held shower was good) - I did at one point consider going down to use the showers by the swimming pool rather than the shower in the room, since they were a lot more powerful). Also the pool looked nice but the shape meant it was actually quite narrow so Ok for floating about in, but not so much if you were thinking of swimming lengths. The staff were pleasant and the room was clean. The location is very good. I normally stay in the Westin when I visit Leipzig and the rooms there are bigger than the room we had.

Great Stay in Leipzig

The service at this hotel was outstanding from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The reception staff with whom we dealt, Jenny and Susan could not have been more helpful and pleasant, while Anja and her male colleague who served us with drinks on the second and third evenings provided service at the same high level. The room and bathroom were reasonable sizes and well equipped with masses of storage space. The reception, lobby, bar and dining room are very impressive and there is a courtyard where one can drink and dine. The city itself is most interesting in light of its recent history with the two parts of Germany joining together once again. There are some excellent bars and restaurants, not least the Bayerische Bahnhof, and a very good shopping area. Leipzig is a must for travellers in Germany and I can not imagine that there is a better hotel in the city than the Hotel Fuerstenhof which I would recommend to anyone.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights over EASTER. The staff were brilliant from arrival to departure.
Any information that we needed, we just asked reception and they could help.
Everywhere you go, it is spotless. Rooms as great and the bed is so so comfortable. Be sure to use the spa. It's beautifu.l. I had a massage by a Spanish young lady who spoke perfect English and also German. The massage was amazing.
We could also check in for our flight and print out our boarding passes on the computer in the lobby.
Great service overall, will definitely be returning if our travels ever take us to Leipzig.

What impressed us the most was the fact that all the staff were alert to our needs and never passed the buck. When they were aware of a problem or a request they acted on it instead of saying, 'Oh, someone else will deal with that.'

It's a beautiful classic hotel where nothing is too much trouble and close to attractions in Leipzig.

Flashback to the good old days.

The layout, furniture and decor bring the visitor back to the good old days prior to WW One. The \"Gruenderjahre\" formed Leipzig and its culture. One gets a taste of it in this hotel with its friendly and well trained personnel. As usual, my recent stay at the Fuerstenhof was a very pleasurable experience - the hotel location is excellent, the staff are extremely helpful and pleasant and the services available are up to a 5-star level. I would happily stay there again and recommend it to anyone seeking a quality, 5-star hotel in central Leipzig. The hotel can be a bit pricey in high season, but they regularly have specials available to reduce the cost.

Old school charm

The hotel is conveniently located close to the centre of town and the railway station. It has a pool and a gym and a first class restaurant. The rooms exude an old world style class with plush carpets and dark colours. Internet access is not included in standard rooms which is a pain. The restaurants degustation menu with matching wines is a winner and a the Fuerstenhof cocktail a definite must!

Heavenly Hotel

Caring, friendly staff enhanced the pleasant stay at this beautiful hotel. The room was superior in all aspects, from design to comfort. The hotel was a 10 minute walk into the city center. I loved the sweet turn down service for the evening, where a little treat was left on the coverlet.

Pool area was beautiful and well maintained.

I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to others. It was the best hotel I stayed in during my six week trip in Europe!

First class hotel with very helpful staff. Breakfast is far too expensive per adult, especially when a good alternative can be had within walking distance.Perhaps an English thing but the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room is a big loss; however this would not stop us staying there again. Spa/Pool area is excellent. The hotel is situated @ 5 minutes from the main train station and @ 5minutes from the city centre.

Okay, but did not meet expectations

The hotel tries to be a real luxury establishment but fails on a few major points. Our room smelled of smoke every morning, probably because the cleaning staff includes smokers. We asked to have the AC fixed but it never improved. The hotel breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful, but no one told us (and it was not posted anywhere) that the price was an astounding 25 Euros per person. Wireless access cost extra as well. The garage fee was also exorbitant at over 20 Euros per night. What initially seemed like a good deal through Expedia turned out to be much less so.
On the plus side, the reception and wait staff was unfailingly helpful and friendly.

A very pleasant hotel.

Nice hotel, good location, the reception staff were very polite and courteous but the woman in the pool area was proper miserable and po-faced! The pool temperature was supposed to be 26ºC, but felt more like 16ºC. Perhaps that's why it was always empty. I thought the breakfast was a bit overpriced at 25 Euros each per day.

On the plus side, the small touches were nice; the housekeepers leave a little card on your bed each evening with tomorrow's weather and a couple of chocolates when they turn the room down. The finishes in the room and the hotel were high quality.

BUSY TRAM LINES OUTSIDE AND BUILDING GOING ON OPPOSITE BUT THE LUXURY OF THE HOTEL MADE UP FOR THAT.

This hotel is a 5 star hotel at a very reasonable price. The service is excellent and the room I had was lovely. They charge 25 euro for breakfast which, however, I found unreasonable. The location is within easy walking distance of the old city and the sites but you must walk across several sets of tram tracks to get there. I would stay here again should I return to Leipzig.

This hotel has lots of charm and a great location. Our room was large and comfortable. The service was terrific. Only complaint was that while typically in Germany breakfast is included with room, at this hotel it was an addition large expense: 25 Euros per person for breakfast. But you can walk to a cafe not far from hotel and everything else about the place is terrific.

Very beautiful hotel!

This hotel was very nice. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable and bathroom decor and set up was perfect. It was very hot the week we were there and the air conditioning worked well. The only small con to this hotel was that it was about a seven minute walk from train station. It was a little off the beaten path. Other hotels were right across from the station. But in my opinion, it was well worth it.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Great Hotel - except when it's HOT

Great location, excellent service, pool/spa. We highly recommend taking a room on the top (\"executive\") floor for a small extra cost - it comes with free food/drinks in the lounge from 7 to 23. This saved us a bundle (and gave rest to tired legs) on a few nights when we didn't fell like going out and just ate at this place (food was great!).
The only problem (but it was a BIG problem for us) is that their air conditioning system is not designed for really hot weather. It was 88 and sunny when we landed in Berlin, and air conditioning was barely working - keeping the room at perhaps 80 degrees - not very good when you come back after a full day of baking in the city!
The staff tried very hard - moved us to a different room (which unfortunately made little difference), put a fan in the room...pool helped a lot...but we still suffered until the weather changed two days later. Bottom line - we highly recommend this hotel at any time when the temperature is under 75, but stay away from it when it's HOT.

The room was fine BUT the sevice from staff could only be described as average. What in Yorkshire might be described as \"all fur coat and no knickers.\"
Breakfast did not justify the 25 Euro p.per. cost and car parking at 19 euro per night wa sover the top. Expensive for what it offered and would not be inclined to stay again.

A real bit of luxury

My wife and I visited this hotel for a weekend break. We got very good room rates. The hotel is really luxurious. Everything was what you would expect of a 5 star hotel and we were delighted with it (including room facilities, condition, swimming pool and other hotel facilities). The extras (e.g. breakfast, other food) are a bit pricey (though not out of line for a 5 star hotel), but of great quality.

Would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a weekend break.

This hotel is gorgeous, the service is fabulous. It is an old-fashioned European hotel, the sort of place one reads about in 19th century novels about the travels of the very wealthy. The room was not huge, but certainly adequate. The evening maid service (in addition to morning) was wonderful. The spa and swimming pool and exercise room were great. Most impressive were the staff members - all were gracious, helpful, kind. My only warning: the restaurant is VERY expensive! Best to walk across the street to the Old City, where there are loads of restaurants and cafes. The location of this hotel for sight-seeing couldn't be better.

Schönes Traditionshotel mit top Innenstadtlage

Sehr schönes Traditionshotel mit perfekter Innenstadtlage.

Ich war auf Geschäftsreise und es gab natürlich die entsprechenden Covid-19 bedingten Einschränkungen. Der staff des Hotels hat aber tadellos agiert um mir den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu machen.
Derzeit kooperiert das Hotel zB mit einem ital. Restaurant um das \"to go\" Essen auf dem hoteleigenen Service ins Zimmer zu servieren. Sehr gut.
Auch das Frühstück kommt aufs Zimmer und war sagenhaft.
Gerade wird das Hotel noch renoviert und strahlt dann in neuem Glanz wenn sich alles wieder normalisiert.

Leider war das Zimmer mit Balkon total abgewohnt, die Schränke blind und es drückt ein ekelhafter Geruch aus dem Abfluss der Dusche! Als ich dies am Morgen des Checkout bemängelte, hieß es ich solle doch bitte vorher bescheid geben und es tut ihr leid. Ich hatte keine Lust nach 22 Uhr auf einen Zimmer Tausch.

Eine ideale Lage um an die interessanten Punkte Leipzigs zu gelangen. Das Gebäude ist wunderschön, gut in Schuss und glänzt mit liebevollen Details. Alt und Neu sind sehr geschmackvoll gewählt und kombiniert. Auch in diesen schrecklichen Zeiten fühlt man sich sicher und das Hygienekonzept wird souverän in die Tat umgesetzt ohne zu stören. Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet und der Service entspricht allen Erwartungen. Der einzige winzige Kritikpunkt ist, dass Sonntag Abend Restaurant und Bar geschlossen sind.

Gefühlter 3-Sterne-Standard zum Preis von 4,5-5-Sternen.

Positiv: Durchweg sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter, im Wesentlichen sauber.

Negativ: Sehr altmodisch - im negativen Sinne - und muffig. Die Zimmer entsprechen einfach nicht dem heutigen Standard in diesem Preissegment, von akutem Steckdosen-Mangel bis zur Ausstattung.

Das größte Problem ist, dass Preis und Leistung vorne und hinten nicht stimmen. 31 Euro fürs Parken in einer Tiefgarage, die dazu nicht einmal am Hotel ist? In ähnlicher Entfernung (Hbf) gibt es Tiefgaragen für 5 Euro Tagesmiete. Auch das Frühstück war für den Preis ein schlechter Witz. Als einzige warme Speisen gibt es Ei-Speisen, zumindest theoretisch. Aufs Omelette habe ich am ersten Tag mehr als 20 Minuten gewartet, am zweiten Tag habe ich es nach über 30 Minuten abbestellt - bei halbleerem Frühstücksraum wohlgemerkt.

Die Elektrik fiel im Zimmer 116 aus. Umzug am Morgen in Zimmer 117. Das Zimmer war vom Vortag nicht aufgeräumt, Leere Gläser, angefangene Waschlotionen, das Bett nicht wie gewohnt gemacht, in der Minibar standen Produkte , die die Haltbarkeit schon seit einigen Monaten überschritten hatten.

schöne zentrale lage, bucht man standardzimmer hat man aussicht auf einen kleinen dunklen innenhof, das zimmer war nicht sehr warm wir haben gefrohren und das rauschen der klimaanlage die ganze nacht stört, hinter den vorhängen standen noch leere bierflaschen vom vorgänger leicht schimmel im bad,bei 50€ frühstück für 2 pers. hätte mir von einem 5 sterne haus mehr erwartet
