We were there only for one night. Even though the room was on the small side, it was comfortable for my husband and myself. There were bunk beds above the main beds, so a family of 4 (2 children and 2 adults) could have stayed there. Not much privacy, because the shower was open.

Great, but book the refundable rates just in case

Clean, basic, convenient hotel in 'hotel-land' near the train station. Everything was quiet and well-situated, will be back. The only trouble was that the booking policy is extremely strict, there was no mercy when I had an emergency change of schedule and had to leave two days early.

A pleasant stay with friendly service

The rooms are exactly what you see in the photos. So they are as small as they might look to you. But… we found the room very cleverly designed, satisfying all the functions you would need for a few nights stay. So in effect, it actually felt quite cozy instead of small. Good shower pressure and consistent temperature (essentials in December weather). No kettle in room but the bar staff were happy to top up our thermos whenever we needed.
Location wise, 5-min walk to centrum where the Christmas markets are.

More towels please!

For the money it’s alright. The location of the hotel is great for shopping but very difficult and costly for parking. The booking was for two people and that means only two towels. No hand towels or face cloths just two towels. Basic room with a very comfortable mattress. Would recommend to bring your own towels if possible?

Perfect place for a day in Leipzig

Good no frills hotel - get the breakfast, very efficient. Central location - easiest proximity to train & central sites. Leipzig is simply gorgeous. Wish I had more time for the agassi & Mendelssohn house museums. Best to have cash for dining.

My recommendation: DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!! I stayed in many Ibis Hotels around the world and didn’t expect an Ibis Budget so very basic. I paid Euro 125 which is not really a budget price. The room was extremely basic. Small, a children desk, shower box in the room, no pictures or anything to make it comfortable. The walls paper thin, heat didn’t work but I got a space heater. Fortunately, the toilet got a door but since at was naturally aired, it was freezing cold. No hair dryer in room but available at the front desk for a 10 Euro deposit, if there are any. In my case, there wasn’t one left. I received a voucher for a drink next door instead. Not even a hair dryer for Euro 125! Unbelievable cheap! I would like to ask my money back!

Great staff, but the AC needs to be better

This hotel wasn't bad for the price. The reason I got it was for AC and the first room I got, it didn't work. They moved me to another room and it barely worked. Other then that, I have no complaints.

Wonderful option to keep you out of the hostels!

Let me start by saying the Ibis budget is a far better option over a hostel. The rooms are clean, and of the European standard for size. You get a private bathroom, although the shower is not behind a separate door. The room overall is plenty big, especially since you won’t be spending much time there. The staff speak enough English to get by if you don’t speak German.
Breakfast didn’t seem to be a great deal, especially with all of the alternatives within a few steps.
No bar, but a vending machine gladly dispenses Bitburger pils and radler at all hours. Also, the coffee machine in the lobby dispenses a great cup. Just remember to put a cup on the platform, or you’ll be left confused as to why coffee isn’t coming out.
Oh, and the housekeeping was very flexible! I was in Leipzig for 7 days and I slept in a couple of days and wasn’t out of the room until well after noon, and my room was still tended to!
Save your money on the fancy hotels in town and stay here!

This might be one of the older Ibis Budget Hotels given the room layout and fittings. That said, the room was larger than average (for a Ibis Budget) and was functional and reasonably comfortable. The wifi signal was ok, the room was clean and breakfast was good.

Spent three nights at the hotel while visiting the Christmas markets. The hotel was a five minute walk from the train station and from there a five-minute walk to the main Christmas Market. Most of the tourist attractions are easily walkable from the hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel as it was a pleasure to stay at.

Worse customer service ever: Rip off hotel

absolutely appalling, e mailed to notified I would check in 1 day late. on arrival was informed rom was cancelled and needed to pay for an entirely new room again. not bothered checking emails despite showing that my reservation still was holding.... so massive rip off, will never book again and suggest you do the same.

Budget and brilliant!

We have stayed in Leipzig a few times but only tried this hotel for the first time this visit. It is a budget hotel and therefore the room is very basic. But it is clean, comfortable and such an amazing location in the city. We did not pay extra for the breakfast because of the many brilliant bakeries nearby. The room had some basic toiletries (soap and shower gel). The only slight problem was that the pillows were very thin. Overall, a great stay and I would happily stay there again.

Very convenient for station and city centre

We chose Ibis Budget partly for its price and partly for its convenient location. The breakfast wasn't as varied as we've had at some other Ibis hotels, but adequate for the price. The room was small with the washbasin in the main room, but comfortable, clean and fine for a short stay. We would definitely choose it again.

Let down by no room soundproofing

Overall we were pleased with the staff and service at this hotel. The rooms were basic but had everything we wanted and we were prepared for less luxury as we paid a low price. However, the one thing we didn't like will also mean we will not return to this hotel - the lack of soundproofing. We could hear guest walking upstairs and talking next door. This kept us awake and meant we cant consider a return to this hotel. We liked the big tv in the room, the bed was comfortable and we liked the blackout blinds. We didn't like the lack of fruit at breakfast, the noise from other rooms and the poor quality pillows which seem to be a problem we have in most German hotels. Far too soft.

1)Not enough hairdryers in hotel, Had to pay 10€ deposit to borrow mine, and when my colleague went to get one there were none left.2) Check in experience dreadful. v late at night, 2 colleagues behind me had to wait. The person on duty refused to accept my receipt for full payment in advance (from hotels.com) despite me having the receipt on me, and the words booking fully paid, in English and GERMAN. He insisted I pay again, at least for 1 night and could be sorted out next morning. To avoid delay I paid with credit card, but then he said this had not cleared the booking and I had to pay for all 5 nights. I refused. Then he called a supervisor (at midnight). She came and immediately confirmed my booking was indeed fully paid, and refunded the credit card for the extra night. I will probably be charged by credit card company twice, for exchange transactions. I discussed the next day with supervisor, and she agreed the hotel had made a mistake and the employee concerned was new (untrained), There was no possibility of compensation for any charges made or inconvenience. Not even the offer of maybe a free breakfast. (7.50€) for example. 3) Breakfast was good value, but very badly laid out, to encourage queuing, especially the location of the coffee machine, which was very slow and kept running out of milk. 4) Generally hotel is good location and value, and the foam memory mattresses are great. Rooms very small, but it is a budget hotel.

Alright for the prize, however with some hiccups.

You get what you pay for. This is an Ibis budget hotel. The value for the prize was alright. Positive: It is a new hotel, and very conveniently located near the Main train station and the city center. The breakfast, which was included in the budget prize was good. The personal was friendly. Negative: The heating system was defect and made reoccurring noises all night. For the second night I was switched into another room. I had a stay which was satisfying, however with some hiccups.

Für eine Nacht fand ich die Unterkunft völlig in Ordnung, es war sauber. Die Einrichtung ist gewöhnungsbedürftig, ich hatte eher das Gefühl in einer Jugendherberge zu sein von der Einrichtung der Zimmer her. Ein Bad gab es nicht, das Waschbecken war im Raum ohne Abschottung angebracht. Dafür eine Dusche und eine abgeschottete Toilette. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück war auch in Ordnung, alles wichtige war vorhanden. Insgesamt gut.

Für eine Nacht völlig ausreichend! Frühstück mit 10€ günstig. Im Zimmer fehlen ein paar praktische Dinge, wie eine möglichkeit die Handtücher aufzuhängen und im Flur so etwas wie eine Garderobe.... Auch sollte nicht nur um das Bett herum gewischt werden, sondern auch darunter!!

Nettes Personal (netter Empfang um 5 Uhr morgens!, Gute Hilfestellung als der Lift die Zimmerkarte nicht erkannte)
Zimmereinrichtung sehr einfach gehalten, aber für einen kurzen Aufenthalt trotzdem völlig in Ordnung. Die Dusche war im Zimmer integriert - sollte bei der Wahl des Zimmergenossen beachtet werden!

Leider hatte das Hotel ab 10:00 Uhr geschlossen. Also keine Bar. Das Frühstück war mehr als mickrig. Die Zimmerausstattung ebenfalls sehr mickrig!
Ich werde dieses Hotel ; gleich wo, nicht weiter empfehlen und auch nicht mehr besuchen!
