Arrived at the hotel to be told no room available. Was forced to book another hotel after conversation with front desk. The lady was very kind but the booking system obviously is not great. I was advised that this was not the first time this had happened. Then, to top it all off, they are refusing the refund despite not providing the room! Awful booking process, decent staff.

The building is outdated and poorly maintained, with filthy bathrooms, old and slow elevators, and nothing appealing beyond the deceptively nice lobby. Overall, it feels like a facade and not worth the money.

The bed was comfortable and the room had some nice elements like big mirrors, Smeg water kettle, and a record player. However, the lighting in the rooms was horrible! This place is seriously outdated and gross. Surprised for a Max Brown hotel. Will not be returning

What really struck me is how much personal care I was given by the staff. I have stayed at the nicest hotels in the country and they could learn from this boutique hotel at how to treat people in a way that makes them feel special. Every one of them made me feel like I was a part of the family. They even ran to the store to get me some cigarettes and stowed my bags when I was taking a short trip to Barcelona and back. Called a shipping company on my behalf because I bought too many clothes and wanted to ship a suitcase home. Truly a bespoke experience. Decided to book again already on my return from Barcelona. Also the record player with vinyl albums in the room was such a nice touch. Bravo!

A wonderful stay at Max Brown Missori. Travelled with a friend, and we stayed in a cosy connect room - imagine 2 small rooms with a connecting door. Lovely staff, great room and facilities. Breakfast was good - such a variety. The hotel is walking distance to metro stations and it was so easy to get to the Duomo and other areas, with one of the metro station lines close by even taking you direct to Linate Airport! Good variety of restaurants within a few mins walk of the hotel, and it felt very safe. A few nice shops also a short walk from the hotel. Definitely recommended for a stay in Milan. I would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel, very well located, on a quiet street. Design is awesome, vinyl/bluetooth speaker was much appreciated. Super comfy sheets and room was top clean.
I had to sleep during the day and was very satisfied with the totally opaque curtains.
Soundproofing could be improved though. I could hear my neighbour zipping their suitcase. I felt bad for all the music I enjoyed on the vinyl player but was happy I did not have lovers living their passion nextdoor ;)

Solo female traveler - I stayed at Max Brown's Milan 5 story for 5-nights. PROS: Staff was very nice. \"Hip\" reception area. CONS: Many! Wouldn't stay at Max Brown again. (1) Requested a bathtub. Showerhead was broken (only pointed at wall immediately behind showerhead) and no hot water. Switched to new room w/no bath tub, only corner shower but was so tiny (tiniest of Euro showers) was difficult. I'm not big (5'5\" 142 lbs size 4/S), could barely maneuver to wash my hair, elbows hit the shower handles and turned off water, I had to face one direction. Had to bend elbows to stay inside shower or not hit walls. Men would have hard time. Only one VERY dim light in bathroom that getting ready in the bathroom was impossible. Total lack of mirrors and no full length mirror in room. Yes there's a stereo but I needed mirrors/lights.(2) Common hallways are tiled and all noise (footsteps, luggage, shoe heels, carts, kids) reverberated throughout like an echo chamber into room. (3) Maintenance had loud banging of hammer on rock or tile starting at 7:50AM rang throughout hotel echoing in hall for HOURS. (4) The \"Do Not Disturb\" sign on door while I was gone but room service cleaned room anyway. This was not acceptable as I had not secured my valuables and specifically didn't want anyone in room. (5) Reception area had a bunch of snacks, drinks and candy but nothing was complimentary. (6) Hard bed. (7) Carpeted floors but no robes or slippers provided.

Comfortable bed, good amenities, stylish decor in a larger than average room, good location for tram and metro, nice lobby with comfortable seating and pool table, good reception service - very attentive

Cons-
Not applicable to all rooms but we stayed in 406 and there was a faulty toilet which also led to a sewer odour. Our room appeared to be below a water tank or pipe, which meant we heard the sound of running water constantly.

Overall, the hotel pros outweighed the negatives and we'd stay again - good value for money.

The staff was very helpful and proffesional. The hotel is located in the heart of the city and most of the must see places are within a walking distance. The breakfast was delicious though not very rich in variety. The room was really small including the bathroom being also small.
My stay was worth the experince, however I think the hotel is more suitable for solo get-aways or young couples.

A good hotel but not the best in this bracket.

A reasonable hotel. It’s clean and tidy and relatively new. The rooms follow a 70’s theme and there are nice touches like 12” vinyl and a record player in the rooms.
Unfortunately it’s let down by the bathrooms. Not well designed, falling apart despite being relatively new. The rooms feel quite sterile as well.
Generally ok though.

The staff at the hotel were fantastic - very friendly and welcoming. Our room wasn't ready at 3pm for check-in and our bags weren't moved from left luggage to the room but the team were very apologetic and explained the mix up. I would definitely stay again.

Our room was very hot upon checking in. We set the a/c to the lowest temp. And left for a few hours. The room had not cooled down at all. Called the front desk who sent housekeeping to our room. They offered us a fan but said A/C was broke (maintenance had gone home for the day). The hotel was sold out so we couldn’t change rooms. Told them this is unacceptable as it was 90+ degrees outside. They said they would refund our money if we checked out. They DID NOT despite Expedia trying to contact them several times. Poor customer service! Because of this I would never stay at one of their properties again!

Though the common areas of the 'boutique hotel' were attractive, like the online photos portrayed them, the rooms were horrible. THe first room (lowest price, I believe), was small, extremely dark, with no view, and was hot from the minute we walked in, even with the air conditioner on. The front desk changed us to a better room at a significantly higher price. THe room was more spacious and had somewhat of a view (construction of buildings in the back courtyard area), but would not cool off. They gave us a fan to use. THe was NO hot water flowing out of the shower at around 5pm, and just a trickle when we tried to shower in the morning.

Though we had booked for 2 nights, we booked another hotel for the second night. When we told the front desk, they said that since we had paid through Expedia, they couldn't return the fee for the second night, but they made the offer that if we called Expedia and had Expedia call them, they would agree to a refund of the second night. Upon returning from our vacation we did call Expedia and they reached out to the hotel but were told that they could not give me the refund.

The Max Brown Misouri is a wonderfully styled boutique hotel, moments from the metro and close to cafes, shops and pretty much everything you will need for a stay in Milan.
I loved the retro-styling and the super-comfortable bed with the largest pillows I have ever seen. I certainly slept well. Cute details like a record player and records, along with practical additions such as a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities, made this a truly enjoyable stay.
The breakfast was great, which can be taken on an outside terrace, and staff were charming and welcoming.
This is undoubtedly the best hotel I have stayed at in Milan - and there have been many - and I cannot wait to go back.
I recommend the hotel for style, comfort, welcome and convenience

Great place and looks fabulous however the toilet didn’t work properly, no plugs beside the bed, just one plug for kettle, electronics. No iron in the room.
The air conditioner didn’t work. We brought milk to put in the fridge for our travel coffee machine and that wasn’t working so had to throw that out.
We asked for pump soap in the shower to be filled as it was empty but was never done.
The y did upgrade up because it was our anniversary but it was very disappointing on the brand that looks fun and inviting.

The two front desk girls that helped me get around and scheduled my taxi ride from hotel to airport were amazing! I apologize for not remembering both names but one girl is from Peru and the other from the Philippine. Thank you girls stay amazing! As for the hotel, loved it. The room feels a bit snugged but it was perfect since all I do is sleep and shower and back out sight seeing. The hotel is super cute and clean and I will definitely be staying at any of their other hotels. It’s the vibe for me! This particular hotel was walking distance from everywhere i wanted to visit and do shopping at. If you visit please tell the staff I said hello, everyone was sweet and kind.

The decor of the entire hotel was eclectic and fun. The beds were comfortable and we slept well.
The staff was friendly and helpful, everyone was young and energetic.
Our sink was clogged and the shower head would not stay in the highest position, it kept slipping. We let them know at the front desk when we left in the morning and the man at the desk said it would be all fixed upon our return later in the day. We will give them a break and say it must have slipped his mind. Despite that we would stay there again.

The carpet was still wet possibly from shampooing when we first took our room. Dried within day though. Little white flakes kept peeling off the bathtub during our stay. One of the windows would not close properly, which made it hard to get good air conditioning in the room. Very reasonable and good tasting breakfast though

I loved the design the concept very modern boutique, very classy and aesthetically pleasing. One area that needs development with more efficiency are the appliances (bathroom fixtures ‘shower head, vanity, AC). Laundry towels smell like Apple cider vinegar which was a problem that was not fixed after complaining. You need to traditionally heat the water opening both shower and sink to take a shower. The drinking water was not contemporary. And I didn’t get the deposit yet its been 2 weeks. Other than that the place is very calm if you want to get away from the center and walk 8 mins. Its a pretty safe location. For the price you can find better.

We started our trip here, and spent our last night here, and got the same room both times. There was an odd smell, coming from the drains in the bathroom, but this could have been attributed to the heavy rains during our time in Milan, and possible drainage issues? The bigger issue was the broken air conditioner unit in our room, but we slept with the balcony door open which was loud but comfortable. The best thing about this hotel is the staff who were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They made our stay great.
