The receptionist was lovely and welcoming. The room itself was very nice and the beds were very comfortable! The only 'complaint' would be the cleanliness of the bathroom whih was not good (mould on the vents etc.) Overall, the stay was very nice.

Room was really hot, could not open windows due to road noise. Service was terrible for breakfast, we queued for 30 minutes to get served. Would not stay here again.

Check in was very friendly and efficient. We had interconnecting rooms, one twin and one double and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was a bit dated but shower good. The room faced the M1 motorway but the double glazing kept the sound to a minimum. We ate in the restaurant inside the hotel; choice of food included popular dishes such as tikka masala, lasagne, chocolate brownies. Food good and excellent service from very friendly staff!

Nice hotel with exceptional staff
Hotel was absolutely fine for the overnight stop wife used it for, what moved it above the average though was the exceptional staff at reception and at breakfast who went out of there way to make our stay really comfortable

Perfect family room setup
All the staff were delightful, so friendly and cheerful, it was lovely. We stayed as a family of 2 adults, 2 children (4yo+2yo) and found the family room fantastic. Having a double + twin beds was idle and yet seems rare in other chain hotels. The breakfast was a typical buffet style with everything you'd expect to find.
The only criticism is the hotel itself, the rooms are very dated and most of the décor and fixtures are tired and in need of repair/replacement. But look past that as you would in the house of an elderly relative and you will thoroughly enjoy your stay. Again, kudos to the wonderful staff.

Hotel was okay and not bad value for money. We had a family room which was ok but the bathroom / toilet could do with updating.
Rooms were very warm and would benefit from air conditioning but there was a large fan in the room already.

The breakfast was good, enough selection for all tastes. The room was comfortable, the bathroom was a little older and as we were on the side facing the motorway there was quite a bit of noise from that.

Very comfortable beds and spacious family room, however we had to share one bath towel between 4 of us; when we requested more, we were told they only had hand towels!
Also the loaf of bread available at breakfast time was mouldy but the staff quickly replaced it when alerted to the problem. But the chef who was cooking the breakfasts was very friendly.
The carpets in communal areas were also really dirty.
So overall a mixed experience, but the most important element, the comfort of the beds, was excellent.

Brilliant stay at the hotel.
Downside to it, I asked on the Monday for the safe to be fixed, we left on the Friday and it still wasn’t done, asked a cleaner for tea and coffee, returned after a day out and still none.
Other than that, brilliant!!!

Very friendly andbhelpful staff. Eventhough the hotel was right by M1 but it's quiet enough. I'm a very light sleeper and always struggled sleeping in a hotel but I can slept through the night here.

Bathroom was oddly configured with the sink outside in the bedroom, and quite obviously not finished properly/finished quickly and left marks on the wall. Staff were happy to let the multiple children staying at the hotel, run wild playing knock down ginger on room doors.
While the service received in the restaurant area was good, the food was expensive, and in the case of breaofast, stale. Restaurant opposite was closed so there was no other option

We have stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and the rooms was not quite due to the room being allocated near the restaurant. The room was not clean and it looked like the cleaners did not do a good job.
The biggest disappointment was the bed, it was so uncomfortable!

Disappointed by cleanliness
The entrance and public areas look nice and had been updated but the rooms were tired. The room was basic which I don’t mind but my issue was with the cleanliness. There were hairs in the sink, white hairs which looked like dog hairs in the carpet. Dust on the wall sockets and headboard. The TV remote control was also grimy. I was shocked by this as I assumed rooms would be deep cleaned due to COVID.

We had a family room which we felt was very spacious and well lit up. Came with a King and 2 singles, so 4 beds in total, which were all reasonably comfy. Also had outside sink and closed off toilet and very large shower. Room was adequately cleaned although we did find small amounts of rubbish left from previous stay, so not completely clinical but i would not complain. Room add kettle and 2 fans, to ward of heat, even an ironing board which we did not use. Did provide a chargeable breakfast but we did not eat, so cannot comment.

The hotel was ok we stayed for one night before flying out it was extremely hot in the family room although fans were provided the hotel could do with installing air con units. We couldn’t have the window open due to the noisy road. The big problem was with the shower and sink desperately need replacing as they are in very poor with black mould and stains in them.

We have stayed several times at Best Western hotels. This place is not a hotel. It's at best a motel, however I would not rate this place as a good motel. We were very disappointed. Stay at the Novotel across the road.

We had a room with 3 beds during a roadtrip with the friends. The room was spacious, quiet and warm and the beds were very comfy. The odd thing was the sink in the room rather than in the bathroom, and no dedicated light for the toilet meaning that if someone uses the loo the light is on above the sink for everyone to see in the room... I'm giving is a 4 star because the staff was great, and in all fairness bare the sink/bathroom oddity this was exceptionally good for the price.

The hotel was in the middle of renovations so there was a lot going on. My biggest problem was that they were unable to give me a room I could access despite my mobility issues. They were friendly desk staff though. Bathroom was old and needed redoing I am hoping this will be in the renovation. Our tv was also broken

the room was okay, bit worn but we were only staying for 1 night. However the pillows were so hard I was unable to get a good nights sleep which is not beneficial when driving the following day.

Hotel was located close the local crematorium so suited our needs ideally. The only reason that I have not given 5* throughout was because previous guests had smoked in the room and unfortunately the smell had lingered slightly.

Friendly staff but the hotel let it down. I'm assuming my room was designed for wheelchair access which is fine but the sink was at such a low level I had to stoop down to shave or just wash my hands, which was very uncomfortable. The shower was awful, lots of mould and outdated shower mixer which would have burnt me if I didn't move out of the way quickly for adjusting it.
The on site bar and restaurant severely needs updating, again the staff were all friendly and helpful but the facilities let it down.
Additionally there was a residents incident the night I was at the hotel, shouting and running up and down the corridor in the night with a police visit. Granted that wasn't the staffs fault but maybe more indicative of the usual clientele.

The room was very clean and spacious with a very large comfy super king size bed. The shower cubicle was excellent, and unlike many hotels that I have stayed in where you could barely turn around in it, this was large enough to fit half a dozen people inside!
But primarily the staff at this hotel were second to none, more of what you would expect in a very high end 5* hotel. From the barman who served us drinks, took our food order and waited on us, to the smiley sociable young lady in the breakfast room and the excellent reception staff we could not have been better served. I must mention the night shift receptionist (the young man who's name I did not get as I was extremely tired) who swiftly dealt with another guest after our complaint at 3am, about the noise he was making in the corridor which then carried on inside his room adjacent to ours. And also
Gwen after our complaint about the strong smell of smoke in the corridor that actually came from the previously mentioned guest room. It transpired that he had covered the smoke detector with a sock and was happily puffing away in his room! She was very professional in the handling of the matter and was extremely apologetic to us. So thank you to all the wonderful staff, who all appeared genuinely pleased to help and serve us and make our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. This will be the 1st hotel I will book if we are ever in the Nottingham area again and I will not hesitate in recommending you to others.

OK as a stopover...
We only stayed for one night, but we were surprised that there was no lift (and we were on the second floor.) The decor was rather tired, hall carpets were badly stained and the mattress wasn't very comfortable. The heating control wasn't working and the room was very hot as the radiator was on, despite the outside temperature being above 20 degrees C. We have stayed at Best Western hotels previously, and they are usually better than this.

Hotel was perfectly acceptable and what you would expect from a Best Western. However, I will NEVER stay in this hotel again during the summer months! There is no air conditioning in any of the rooms. I stayed over a hot bank holiday weekend so I was sweating all the way through the night! I also had the thickest quilt ever on my bed so I had to sleep on top of it and not under it. Being right next to the M1 motorway I couldn’t even open a window as the sound of traffic rushing past would have kept me awake. They did have a desk fan that could be switched on but that was almost as loud as the motorway traffic! At the very least they should be providing customers with portable air conditioners so you can cool the room down when it’s hot weather.
