The village hotel rooms are looking very tired nowadays so I upgraded to a club room, despite saying you receive extra benefits the “sweet treat and extra toiletries” were not in the room. The food has also gone downhill in my opinion. I won’t be choosing this hotel group again.

No phone is bedrooms is problematic in an emergency, I had to be liaising with staff via an online chat that I had to scan on the TV to find which is complex if you don’t know how. It was pure that chance I found out, I had to go looking when the contact numbers went unanswered or disconnected immediately

Standard rooms are nice, however the rooms are quite run down and need maintenance in the form of paint work, carpets etc

The club rooms are strange, the are large but quite empty, a chair here and there to fill space but needs a designer to look at it. I expected a fridge, and upgrade amenities. Bathroom had no bath unlike the standard rooms and was very cold with no option to fix it.

I would take a standard room any-day, more compact and well thought out.

Walls are made of paper, pray you aren’t placed next to the local lowlife or your restful break could become a nightmare

Breakfast was limited, and was not made clear you had to order certain items that weren’t on display like fried or poached eggs. They claim they have a continental breakfast but there was no yoghurts, fresh pastry selection or ham/cheeses etc. Porridge was 10/10

The breakfast area is the same area the bar is in, so early morning whilst dining you see people coming in to order a pint in order to start the day which can be a little unnerving when they are in groups and a little boisterous. My suggestion is to have the bar area separate to protect hotel guest and their families are well

Property was very clean and the facilities were excellent although pool can become very busy at weekends.

Room was very clean although the plug sockets failed to charge my phone. I believe this was part of a new build upgrade but clearly the electrics have not been completed correctly and hardly work.

The biggest issue with this hotel is the signage. It is a complete misleading mess. A rectangular building should not be difficult to navigate but this particular hotel fails at every hurdle. A lift that goes down to actually suggest you are on a higher floor?? I have seen many things in my time abroad but in the UK? hard to believe!!

On asking other guests about this they all concurred with the above opinion including multiple staff members who I have no intention of naming.

Aside from the signage, the staff were amazing and could not do enough to ensure my stay was enjoyable. I cannot thank them enough for their constant directions to and from my room.

Special shout out to Lottie in the bar who has the kindest heart and a fantastic smile x

I actually would return to the hotel but please sort the misleading inaccurate signage out prior.

Overnight stay at The Village, Notts was great.

Lovely staff at reception, very welcoming. Great room, comfy bed snd pillows, huge room and massive tv. Bathroom facilities were very clean and modern.
Great atmosphere in the bar area and visit to the pool area early morning was well worthwhile.

The hotel is in a good location, and is lovely and clean. It’s extremely overpriced for what you get though. I haven’t stayed for 5 years in a village and I remember why. Nothing has improved in terms of the hotels or their service. I was astounded after paying £160 for one night that I was charged further to use the gym too. The spa area made up somewhat for the overall experience but I won’t be staying again.

Lovely hotel and accessible room with wet room. I really appreciated the room as a disable person and a manual wheelchair user. The staff were absolutely brilliant and helped me when i needed it. The only thing was that the room was quite a distant away from the restaurants and the main reception area. I had to order room service as i struggled getting to the restaurants and eating areas. Maybe that could be something to look into making the accessible rooms more accessible to the main hotal reception area. Thank you.

Woken up due to gym noise

Stayed at this hotel for business many times - unfortunately I was given a room on the first floor above the gym. The room was very stuffy due to the time of year so windows open, at 5am the loud thumping bass from the gym sound system woke me up and even with the windows closed it was impossible to ignore. This meant I was tired going to work a physical job all day and I was offered a free coffee as way of apology from the staff. Not acceptable to put rooms in the vicinity of that amount of noise at an unreasonable time. I will consider my stay here during my next business trip because of this

Ok, so it’s what it says on the tin… and that may be enough for some people. But honestly I have had more comfortable nights in a premier inn. If you want to stay at a community gym with some hotel rooms popped on the top, fill your boots. The only think that came to my mind when I entered reception was when was Mr Brittas going to appear! I get it the hotel choose to subsidise their hotel revenue by letting in the masses from the local community! Well I don’t want to fight my way through waves of sweaty locals to get to my guess room!

Room did not get cleaned once on stay despite asking cleaners and putting the ‘clean me’ sign on the door. Only thing they did was empty bins. No fresh towels. Beds never made. The rooms are red hot. We were supplied with a fan but the remote for it was missing. Asked at receptions and they side there was nothing they could do. Same with TV remote. Battery’s were flat and they said there’s nothing they could do to fix. Bathroom had mould on ceiling as the extractor fan is badly positioned meaning it remains steamy.

Self check in seems like more hassle than worth especially as staff on hand to help/do. Would have been far smoother to have a normal check in desk. Not like I got paid to work for them and do the job. Slave labour...

Room ok, mid range fair. No glasses for bathroom. No towel rail either! And worst, advertising bedside charger so only brought a usb but turned out no bedside socket of any sort. Bed comfortable. Room seemed quite enough.

Bar prices reasonable. Advertising cocktails, yet dont have any cocktails on a n early spring, yet busy, Saturday. Lots of lager, just one Pale Ale, no proper beer. A good place to watch sports as lots of large TV.

Do download the app and get 5% off. The new user 25% off doesn't seem to work. (two of party tried, neither worked)

Booked the village due to its amenities. Called and confirmed food times - was told last orders is 9.30pm. Arrived to a self check in no reservations staff- unlike advertised. Went to order food at 9.17pm was told kitchen is closed. There was a large table in. Absolutely ridiculous after travelling 4 hours!! A member of staff appeared at the check in desk who was also surprised at the kitchen being closed. Was then directed to the Mcdonalds across the car park. If they were going to close the kitchen early - notify your guests so they can make alternative plans. So very disappointed and wont be back. Might aswell have booked the Premier Inn !
Bedroom was poorly lit - no mirror on the dresser- lighting needs to be looked at. Bathrooms not clean.

The hotel itself is fine, the staff are helpful and the swim and gym facilities are great. The room needs some love and the cups and spoons had clearly been used for porridge and not clean. The walls are paper thin so if you get unsociable types next door you'll be awake all night. The man next door ordered himself a friend for the night and we didn't get much sleep.

Lovely clean rooms and easy check in/out. We got the conjoined rooms we requested on booking without any issue. I hadn’t realised there’s a daily charge for the car park, but it’s capped so not too expensive. Note there are no plug sockets on the side of the room by the beds, so unless you have a really long charging cable, you won’t be able to reach your phone! It was unfortunate the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night during our stay and communication from hotel staff at the time was lacking, but we felt safe and were only outside for about 10-15mins.

There was mould and mildew in the bathroom, toilet seat cracked, sink and floor had cracks, dust in all of the corners, rooms need freshening up, heating not the best, the bed was very comfortable but had stains on the sheets. Tissue dispenser with no tissue in. Personally wouldn’t stay again. The gym, pool, sauna etc lovely high standard but rooms seem to be forgotten.

Great room and very clean - good facilities.

Great hotel and very comfortable. My only negative was that my shower was broken. They have modernised various elements of the hotel such as no phone in the room and if you need to contact reception to go on a web chat style system. This didn't work for me as when I originally went on to report the shower fault there was no option for this on the drop down automated box. After ten mins of trying I gave up and had to have a shower with it faulty.

I mentioned it in the morning upon check out but that's that... I couldn't go down to reception at the time of fault.

The toilet seat also didn't work properly.

Facilities great, very good vending machines and the hotel food was really really good, slightly pricy but well worth it.

Great location with plenty of shops nearby and complex.

Rooms were not ready when we arrived well after check in time. Rooms basic, dark and very few sockets. Light coming in from under the main hotel room door and too noisy due to large gap under door. Ordered a six seater taxi via reception to leave for a wedding venue and only a four seater turned up. Two of the wedding guests had to wait and pay again for another taxi. Not enough staff for how busy the hotel was. For the price we paid, we didn’t expect to get a Premier Inn stay!

Tried charging us again for parking and pool use during checkin. Pillows lumpy and hard. Only one towel in room. Soap dispensers and remote were filthy! Couldn’t use pool as full of children having swimming lessons and parents sat around watching them. Staff were really pleasant though
