Check-in - painfully Slow...
Insisted on charging a £50 \"deposit\" at check-in that wasn't mentioned at the time of booking, then after reluctantly paying by card and SEEING THE GREEN TICK AND APPROVAL CONFIRMATION on the terminal screen, the receptionist claimed it hadn't been successful, and I'd need to pay it again (which I refused to do).

In the one small lift, the button for the Ground Floor was taped over with the message \"Not Workig\" (sic) meaning the only way to get back to the ground floor and exit the building was down a rough worn stone staircase, that had lights controlled by sensors that did not detect a person until they were half way down. I WOULD CONSIDER THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. when mentioned to the receptionist the response was a dismissive \"we know\"...

I have enjoyed good stays at other Trivelles branded properties elsewhere, but sadly this one fell some way short of their standard.

The staff member who checked me in was very abrupt, didn't seem interested. Lift was broken, so I had to get the lift to the first floor and use the slippery concrete steps down to the ground floor. Room was freezing cold; heating was broken and the room had no radiators.

When we went to check in The receptionist asked for ID, I ask a couple of questions 1, why do you need that, which he didn’t answer that, 2, what will you be doing with the information on the card, will you be sharing this with, how long will it remain on your system before it’s destroyed, I did show him my ID and he took a photo of it on his mobile phone, the heading did not work in the room and a sliver sticker had been place over part of the control, there was broken floor tiles in the toilet with sharp edges, the chair in the room had a big cut in the left arm, I took a pillow of the top of the wardrobe which had a massive stain on it,

The bedding was not clean, we as the guests had to change our bed sheets at 1:30am with very little help from the receptionist. Metal sticking out of the mattress. Noise disturbance from other rooms and a party going on outside the hotel. In addition, despite mentioning upon check in that my friend has celiacs disease, the breakfast given to us had gluten. If had she had not questioned this, she would have been incredibly poorly. When trying to discuss this politely with the hotel manager, we were brushed off, handed a piece of paper and told to email our complaint.

I had no heating for 24 hours in the room, and therefore got absolutely no sleep aldue to the time of the year, being around freezing. There were no staff at reception when i came down in the morning, and their emergency contact number went straight to voicemail. Useless.

Blooming freezing in room. Heating the room in advance when it's 9 degrees Celsius outside would have been wiser when you're expecting a guest. I put the extra plug in radiator on plus tried to operate the heating but there was no extra duvet and the one on the bed wasn't thick enough to handle the cold. I had to sleep in 3 jumpers, thermal leggings, a hat and gloves to cope. It would have been good if not for the cold - there's a microwave and a basic kitchenette. Some basic crockery would have been helpful.

I would like a full refund for this trip. The room was dusty, bed uncomfortable and I was bitten here. The shower was off the hinge nail sticking out and when I explained to staff I have severe asthma and we needed a parking space in car park or close by they were unhelpful. I explained to manager on duty about the shower and he insinuated we had broken it despite me being 5”2 and not being able to even reach the part where it was broken! We both felt we couldn’t have a shower without it collapsing on us! The door lock was broken didn’t lock and there was smashed/ broken window from the glass outside so the room was cold the whole time heating didn’t work so the room was very draughty and cold. The fan had so much dust in it and the room was generally unclean and dusty which made me wheezy with my asthma. And we were cold all night.

I stayed 2 nights and when I questioned if the room had been cleaned on the morning of the 2nd day I was informed it had been. I explained that no coffee had been left, the person I spoke too said he would bring some to the room but never did.
The room fob did not work on the 2nd night and I was very lucky that there was still a member of staff on duty

Great stay, definitely recommend

Decently big room with a comfortable bed. Very easy to locate and only a mere 15-20 minute walk from the city centre. Check-in was easy with a helpful elevator up to the different floors. My only slight issue was the water pressure in the shower wasn’t amazing, but was still usable and good enough.

We were lucky to find street parking, though the area looked a bit dingy and had an unpleasant smell. Thankfully, my car was safe overnight! The hotel entrance wasn’t immediately obvious, so I had to call reception, and a staff member kindly came out to guide us—good service there.

**Room & Amenities**
We stayed on the top floor, which was a blessing because the views were better than the lower floors (which would’ve just faced another building!). The balcony was clean, though one of the chairs was very worn out. The room was open-plan, with bedrooms on a mezzanine level (no doors, just a creaky staircase!).

Since hot air rises, the upper sleeping area was extremely warm, even with the provided air coolers and a fan. We had to leave the balcony door open all night for some relief. The kitchen area was cute and functional (fridge, microwave, kettle, sink, and basic cutlery), but the lack of a proper table was inconvenient—just four seats with nowhere to place food or drinks.

The bathroom was basic, with no shelving for toiletries, though they did provide soap and shower gel. The shower had a nice body spray, which was a plus! There was also a TV, iron, and ironing board, as well as a washing machine (which we didn’t use). Personally, I’d prefer a table in that space instead of the washing machine for more practicality.

For a short stay, it was fine but I wouldn’t recommend it in summer due to the heat. It’s decent for 1-2 nights, as budget friendly.

Overall, I can’t complain. For the price and for 1 night in this location, the bed was comfy and I had no real issues. The cleanliness was definitely not the best I have ever seen, but nothing was particularly bad either. I was appreciative the eco friendly bar soaps and shower gel. The bed linen and towels were crisp white and clean. No strange smells, and no issues with other guests. I’d recommend it if you’re just looking for a cheap place to stay in the area!

The location of the property, just 15 minutes walk from the centre of Nottingham is excellent. It's also in reasonable condition, the rooms are modern and clean.

BUT:- The room had little or no ventilation and had no air conditioning and was boiling hot, the TV and WIFI weren't up to much and the breakfast was deeply underwhelming.

So-so overall.

Did it’s purpose for a short course at university

My stay turned out fine after a real big mix up on my part but was a little disappointed as I suffer from lupus and sometimes I get things mixed up or forget things and a lot of other heath issues that goes with it. I stupidly booked for next year instead of this year but because I booked on no refunds I can’t get a refund for the night I have booked for next year and had to pay for the night I actually needed. Even though I had already booked and paid for 5 nights also. I just got confused when I realised that I hadn’t booked for the night before on my original booking I know it was my own fault but I do blame that on my illness hence why it’s normally my partner who does all my bookings or dealings with any of my affairs as I just get so confused and mixed up.

The staff at front desk was really nice along with the breakfast staff. Breakfast was good and freshly cooked.
My room was fine apart from no aircon or couldn’t get it to work. There was a fan which did nothing but to be fair the weather outside was extremely hot. I liked the part there was a sink and microwave in the room as I was there for 6 days and instead of always going out I could get food from Tesco which is just round the corner. The only downside was the fridge is a cooler and not a fridge so didn’t keep things that cold.
I was at Nottingham university for a short course and this hotel is just 10 minutes round the corner and was ideal and the price was also good.

Wildly over priced for what was ultimately akin to a poor student accommodation. Random amenities in the room alongside dirty yellowing towels. Curtains would not open and the room was too hot and stuffy and smelled unpleasant. The chair in the room was stained. Check in was slow and for some reason, one of the staff was sent up to check my room before I could go up under the guise that they were checking it was a ‘good room’. It was not a good room so I remain unclear why he had to go up there before I did. Very disconcerting.
There were three chairs in reception where we could sit and wait for rest of the party - the chairs were stained and filthy.
The area is awful - dirty, on a back street and a heavy police presence and immigration control outside the hotel for most of the day of arrival. This hotel’s not worth the £90 I paid for one night. To be honest, I’d struggle to justify £40 on this place.

Room was well equipped, microwave etc. Aircon in theory existed however the room was akin to a sauna. The hotel did provide a standing pillar fan however it simply pushed hot air at us overnight. The water pressure was poor.
In winter I am sure this would be a pleasant experience, especially if you don't mind low water pressure.

Fridge wasn’t working, too much heat in rooms that standing fans could never keep cool, at least prepare more adequately since you know how heated your rooms can be. Not a suitable place for a baby stay especially during summer, bathroom had a bit of smell; some air refreshers or cleaning washrooms areas very well could be useful. Room was dusty too.

Hotel was very expensive for such an encounter.

Hotel is a bit clostrophobic.
The lighting to get to your room is quite dim, then once you get in your room its got marks all over the ceiling. I wouldn’t class this hotel as anything over a 2* hotel.

Did tell the receptionist about the issues I was having and they said they don’t have any other rooms.

Why is it that there is no airflow in UK buildings! It was so hot and no A/C or even a fan! And the stairs were creaky & scary. But the view was incredible and the suite was great. I felt like I was looking out the window from Ratatouille without the Eiffel Tower. And I felt safe as a single young woman.

We stayed in a deluxe double room, but deluxe is certainly a stretch. There were marks and chips all over the walls, water damage on the ceiling, worn away plaster around light fixtures. In the bathroom there were red plastic screw supports drilled into the wall, seemingly as a cheap fix. There was writing on the ceiling above the bed that could have easily been painted over. The shower was very small and some would definitely struggle to fit. The mini fridge never worked, even overnight. The stairs were very loud which was an issue when the bed and bathroom are not on the same floor. The fan provided had a part of the mesh caved in and would not stand up without being leaned on the banister. The price tag felt over-priced when this is the state of the room given.
We were given the key to 608 initially but when we cane back and tried to enter for the first time the key did not work. A helpful member of staff took me down to reception to sort it out and the staff member at reception make out like I had not listened to his college when he gave me to key as they had assigned me a different room. It makes no sense to give me a key card with a room number on it that is not my room number.
There was no noise issues at any point, though it being after the end of the University year means it was quieter in general. Everywhere was hygienic. The balcony was spacious, but had a light that we could not turn off. This attracted bugs so we could not sleep with the windows open.

Checking in was easy, but the room (considering I paid extra for a better room), was poor. The curtains across the balcony doors were ill- fitting, my bed was up a steep set of wooden stairs and one side was pushed against the wall as there was insufficient room in the space for it. The bedside shelf was loose and falling off the wall and the deck had no chair. When I went to shower in the morning, the hot water ran for 30 seconds and then ran cold, leaving me to shower in cold water.

No duvet ,slept under my jacket from 3 .0 am. In morning the chamber maid I found in store room.opposite the bedroom door pointed out that the completely flat and regular cotton white sheet was in fact a duvet. That was blatantly a lie such even a thin duvet has more volume than a flat sheet. I can not recommend from a customer service point of view. Never to return

Lovely hotel, decent rooms with kitchenette. Check in was a little slow and theres a smell like drains in the reception area due to a plumbing issue that's being fixed.

No parking on-site, theres limited street-parkjng nearby but gets full quick and I wouldn't recommend leaving your car there - instead park nearer the city centre as its not a long walk
