Staff very friendly . We had an issue and didn’t feel safe with a person who was drunk and they moved us straight away. Dining staff friendly helped find a table not in the sun as beautiful as it is . Plenty food. Buffet not very hot but that’s understandable for a buffet . Lovely stay

The staff were great. Unfortunately the decor is dated and the rooms are tired albeit clean. Our room (111) had a faulty extractor fan so the room got steamed up on the first evening. This was not a problem the second morning as there was no hot water!! The drainage from the shower and sink was slow so we had to make sure neither overflowed. Breakfast was fine although the coffee machines needed a good clean.

No complaint about staff. Room was much smaller than we were expecting and comparing to a similar priced hotel like premiere inn.
Room walls seemed very thin we could here our nighbours on both sides and room above, and corridor.
Room was clean and maid did good job. Reception was polite, but matter of fact, rather than welcoming. Car parking £12 a day, and breakfast £12 each seemed pricey extras.

Warm welcome from reception staff member and the room was clean and warm.
HOWEVER the shower tray filled up really quickly so I could not finish my shower as I was worried the floor would flood.
Reported this on friday night so disappointed it was not sorted. Same problem Saturday morning.

From the moment I checked in the plug sockets weren't working, so we had no electric to charge our phones. We had to go down to reception as when I used the QR code to whatsapp nobody replied and still haven't. I even rang it too. A maintenance guy came to fix the electric.

I booked your hotel specifically to use the hot tub as I have a musculoskeletal issue. I went to use it to find it is not in use and somebody said it hadn't been since August. I would have appreciated the hotel contacting me to advise that your facilities were out of order as I would have booked to stay elsewhere.

You have 2 air con units on the way to the changing room and in the women's changing room. The changing room 1 had a bucket under but the other didn't and the floor was slippy and a bit of water dripped on my head. This is not safe.

The shower in the room must have a blocked plug hole, as when I showered I was stood in several inches of water. I have taken pics and will attach. The bathroom sink was the same. Took ages for water to drain down.

We went out and came back late to find the room freezing cold and the heating did not work. We had to go down to reception to report and somebody came up with a portable heater. This was not adequate enough as I was freezing cold and couldn't sleep til after 2am.

I reported these issues this morning and the receptionist apologised and asked me to email the manager, which I did but they are away until next week.

They say children are free to stay but we had to pay extra for a cot and a child’s bed. Plus I thought parking was included but it was £12 a day which we couldn’t afford. The room was really small so even though it was meant to be a big room, there was no floor space with extra beds which is fine but nothing like I imagined from the pictures.
One left wasn’t working and the other was slow. The stairs are external fire stairs so you feel like you are in a multi storey car park.
The jacuzzi was broken but we weren’t informed. The pool is very small plus they have baby lessons in there at weekends so there is only space for one other room or a couple of people and locals can pay to use it. The changing room is as big as a family changing room! The pool and showers were lovely and warm when we were there though. It is not an accessible as random staircase to pool.
Food was fine but nothing tasted delicious. It really helped that children’s breakfast was free though, made up for all the extras with beds and parking.
We enjoyed our visit as people were nice and decor of the room was nice and it was convenient for visiting our friends. It was however not worth the cost and I don’t want to go back.

First time staying here and wasn’t impressed. 40 minutes in a queue to check in. The room was very small, pictures definitely made it look bigger. Whilst the room decor was lovely the lighting was not, trying to put my make up on at the dressing table was difficult with the lighting. It was very dark in there. When we were ready to go out we went to the bar downstairs to get a drink. There was one member of staff of who was making drinks we waited 10 minutes while he made drinks in front of us and asked him how long he would be, he said 5 minutes. We left, no one wants to wait 15 minutes to have a drink. The service at this hotel was not worth the money I paid. Won’t be coming back.

Unfortunately there was a Christmas party taking place and our rooms were above on the first floor so we could hear all the noise. Our room was also above the area where everything seemed to congregate outside so the noise continued into the early hours.
The lifts were also constantly out of use.
The corridor smelt musty
The heater in the room didn’t work properly and was very noisy.
Would not stay again!

We had a lovely stay. Didn't use all facilities but would be happy to return. Only constructive feed back we would give, is that the flooring in the restaurant looked rather tired and shabby. Let the room down and needs replacing.There was a nasty rip in the flooring in one of the lifts which was a trip hazard. Staff were all very friendly and our room was lovely too.

The staff made the property worth staying in. The manager and man at the front desk were both fantastic, going out of their way to make my stay better.
The actual property was not amazing, small and a bit tired. The jacuzzi was out of order which was disappointing.

Some of the decor is a little tired, and getting food from the bar was a bit slow, but the breakfast was good, the room clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Just watch out for the shower tray, some of them dont drain properly and risk overflowing into the bathroom.

Shocking hotel service and supprot

Stayed there with family for a wedding recently! Booked a room for my dad that was meant to be accessible and spoke with the hotel in advance to arrange a stool for my mother in law to access the shower, despite being promised this it never materialised! On top of this the shower leaked into the bedroom and made the carpet sodden! They were also replacing the fire doors in the corridor and started work at 0730 in the am! Waking us up with the racket they were making! We were also locked out of our room because the card was deactivated earlier than it should have been, check out time is noon! Despite raising with the hotel staff both in person and over email they have ignored the whole thing! Save your money and go elsewhere!

Hotel very comfortable and staff friendly. Health suite was a bit disappointing. They have swim lessons in the pool for kids. There is a notice in reception as to when the lessons are running and the pool is cordoned so you can swim while the lessons are running but as the pool is very small anyway, it makes the swimming area even smaller so virtually impossible to swim. The jacuzzi was also not working so not really worth spending extra money on a hotel with a swimming pool.

Nice hotel, got some great parts done ok parts.

Check in on Saturday was very slow. Not sure why, but it took 25 mine to get checked in as some customers ahead of us, seemed to take forever to get resolved. Not sure why that was, staff, systems, or booking issues... Who knows, but with only 2 people before us, 25 mins is not great.

The hotel is nice though,service is good, rooms are good, no real complaints. The lifts are very slow though and we thought they would break at any time....

Overall though,not a bad stay abd rooms were nice and quiet and comfortable which is the most important thing.

Stayed here a couple of years ago and enjoyed our stay so decided to stay here again. I didnt realise that they've recently decided to charge for parking so had to pay £24 to park for 2 nights. Make sure to prebook breakfast or that will be another £16 each. Overall not too bad,but room was a bit smelly and rooms at the front of the hotel facing the main road are noisy at night.

We were offered to change rooms, but we had settled in by the time the maintenance man came to look at the air conditioning and made this offer. We gathered there was a problem in quite a few rooms. We were lent two fans by the maintenance man, which did help.

Huge disappointment.

Thoroughly disappointed. Had to ask to move rooms as the door did not shut and lock properly in my kids room and a dirty room for us. The next room had half a curtain and also dirty, the third room stank of sewer and only slightly cleaner than the others. But we were fed up with moving after such a long drive, so stuck with it. Staff were in no way apologetic for the state of the rooms and general disrepair of them. We were given 2 free drinks as compensation, which was a slap in the face. We never used them as getting served in the restaurant was almost impossible and it was not even remotely busy.

The walls are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING, ALL the time.

I chose this hotel for the spa amenities, yet only 1 of the 4 of us used it very briefly, also not worth it.

The cost of parking adding insult to injury.

The breakfast was enjoyable.

Overall, I would not recommend at all and will never be staying in a Mecure Hotel ever again. A Premier Inn would have been far superior.

Our 2 days/ nights in Sherwood were very pleasant. Very friendly staff who gave me free parking as the card machine was playing up. I liked the way our was room decorated and it was bigger than Lodge rooms. Had a nice breakfast in the dining area and a swim and sauna. An easy walk into town centre, but there was a constant stream of buses to catch, both ways, if so desired. The only down side to our stay was Ipswich losing to Forest in the FA cup , but thats not down to the hotel, just a poor penalty!

A good hotel gone down market

I have stayed at this hotel under its various franchises over the year . Yes- it's OK but the food offering definitely needs improvement.
I decided to take dinner in the hotel and I found the greeting staff extremely pedantic . I arrived at the restaurant at 7.26pm and althought there were about 20 empty tables, I was told the restaurant was booked out but come back after 7.30 - 4 minutes later !! Had a drink at the bar at their suggestion and returned to the desk at 7.40 to be told \"we now have a table for you\". The capacity was exactly the same as when I first arrived. Food was unimaginative, but OK.
Returned the next morning for breakfast to find the table cloths has been removed exposing tables that were more shabby than shabby chic. The table surface was sticky to the elbow and I thought it was Wetherspoons!! The food offering again was bland and it felt like they were providing the minimum they could get away with. Small eggs , poor quality sausages and field mushrooms chopped in half!

There is a huge car park which in the past has always been free of charge. To be charged £12 to leave your car in an unsecure car was , I thought , a bit rich

The condition of the hotel outside the restaurant was OK but I really think something needs to be done about the very slippery wet stairs down to the swimming pool

Clean and comfortable room. It was convenient to where I needed to be.

I did not like the actions of the receptionist. Just before me a couple booked in and he told them all about the hotel etc.
They asked about noise and he stated 'the best location is on the third floor, that's where I would go'. Then I stepped forward and he said 'did you hear all that?' I said yes, then he gave me my key to room 104. I got in the room and had a little sleep as I had been travelling most of the day. I realised he had put me on the busiest floor and right next to the lift and gym access. Not a happy customer!

Great hotel just outside city centre

This is a wonderful small hotel three bus stops from the city centre in Nottingham. The bar is very good--the chips were fantastic!--but the glass ceiling means the room gets very cold in the winter. Wrap up or aim for a more spring-summer-autumn stay.

The service was consistently very good.

Good hotel - ideal for one night

Hotel is good. Stayed one night. Easy check in - but no one at reception for check out! Luckily there was a key drop off. Breakfast had a lot of choice but hot food kept running out and took ages to fill up (15 mins for scrambled egg!)
