Well you can only get food when your room is available and when you complain they are indifferent. The management is terrible especially maia fernanda at customer service she has no idea how to deal with customers. Also the food is very misleading they will say fruit in a puff pastry and it has ham, also the alfredo which doesbt have ham come full of it. And when you say somethinf they dismiss you. I have fixtures and video of the mistreatment vut im only allowed 400 characters

they will not let you make dinner resevations on your 1st day , and every morning at 7am i had to go to desk to make a dinner reservation and then at 8am to reserve for the show, they do not have enough space for the ala carte restaurant and force u to eat in a buffet , it was horrible experience , not a good place for a vacation

Worst experience ever. We had our honeymoon completely ruined by this « resort ». The so called beach is about 15 meters long and is filled with huge rocks that made it impossible for us to cross. The hotel staff was arrogant, the food disgusting, the room was small without a mirror (only the frame), only one lamp out of the two was working... We though at least we will chill at the disco... No! The disco is under reconstruction. When we mentioned to the manager of the resort the photos from Expedia, he said he had spoken to them about taking down some of those pictures as they dont represent the current state of the resort. We will file a complaint, dont go to this resort... I have been to 2 star hotels much better than this!

Good place for a family or those who like cruise ship type vacations with all the food you can eat, etc. Construction on street keeps beach from being more enjoyable, temporary problem. Rooms are standard, no frills.

Nice beach even though erosion has taken a toll

The beach was nice, however, erosion has played its part, there isn't almost any sand left on San Luis. This scene happens around other parts of the island also. In that sense, if you are looking for a white sand beach, look elsewhere.

Overall, our family visit (with a 2.5 year old child) was enjoyable. Let us state upfront, we would not recommend the facility based on the HORRIBLE internet service (slow, unreliable, requires new username/password each 24-hours, and only available in one small lobby location). But, if the internet access was different we would recommend and even consider returning. Now, we will continue with describing the rest of our visit which was relaxing.

This facility has welcoming and friendly staff, good but not outstanding food, clean but small rooms, nice beach with clear water, and nice pools. We visited the beach in the morning and the pools in the afternoon. The beach is public with small with some beach chairs, clear calm water and clean white sand. Our daughter enjoyed playing in the sand and trying to catch the small fish in the clear water. The pools were clean and the water temperature was refreshing. The small pool-side bar served tasty tropical drinks. The food at breakfast was very good and lunch was much better than dinner; while the food quality varied from very good on some days to good on other days. The omelet breakfast service and the made to taste pasta at lunch were the best. All the fruit was fresh and tasty. Although the facility offers entertainment, we choose not to partake in the evening activities but enjoyed the beach activities. This facility is an excellent place for a family with small children and parents not needing to access to reliable internet.

I went to this hotel 5 years ago and fine for a cheap beach break, going back after 5 years and nothing has changed ! but the world has moved on and so this is now a bit below standard. The entertainment staff are excellent though

You should never stay at a Decameron Hotel

The place lacks the basic features that you will surely find in any other hotel. Being supposedly all-inclusive hotel, I got this:
1 No potable water on the room
2 No wireless internet on the room. If you need to connect, WIFI is available in a limited area at an extra charge
3 The key for the Safe-deposit box in the room has extra charge
4 Swimming pools were most of the time on maintenance. You cannot swim after six
5 There is only one restaurant that does not need reservation
6 Have your breakfast and meal early, because drinks get finished
7 No flat screen. You get a 15-year-old relic TV with a terrible image quality
8 The shower dirty and full of hairs
9 No fitness center
10 No Hot tub

Besides the poor infrastructure and hygiene, the terrible customer service is their greatest weakness:
1 Bad-humored personnel during check-in
2 They don’t answer the phone at the reception
3 They refused to provide us with a second key to the room for my other friend
4 Tourist information has no clue about the activities you can do on the island
5 No transportation offered at all
1 I have never seen such an irresponsible scuba diving school in a hotel. First 2 dives were rescheduled 1 minute before the confirmed hour even when I waked up early. Scuba equipment was too big for my size and one of the o-rings failed when I was testing the regulator. No wet suit offered and I froze while diving. Last dive, the dive master did not show up. Don’t trust your life to them.

Average Hotel, great people and beaches around

You will not find 5* quality in San Andres, but hotel is not that bad, it is just average.

The AC in our first room didn't work well at all. The front desk staff is of very little help for anything, and is not concerned at all with resolving a problem in a timely manner. So after being told to stay in that room and wait till they could find something open.... I just walked around our building and had the maid let me into various rooms that were available to check the AC, then told the front desk staff which room I found and wanted to switch to.... problem solved. Our maid was so nice and accommodating, working around our schedule to clean our room and not bother us, and she was 10x the help of the front desk staff for advice on things and places to do on the island, so I tipped her very well. The girl at the travel agency was helpful also. The hotel front desk staff, in my opinion were useless, and unresponsive.

San Andres is definitely a step or two below all other beach destinations I've been to in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, as far as accommadations, amenities and infrastructure.... and really overpriced for what you get. But it is cool to see at least once, and it is easy for my Colombian girlfriend to travel there w/o a visa since it is a Colombian territory.

Spanish is a must in San Andres. I speak enough to get around just fine. You might be able to get by with only English, but you'd be missing a lot. All tours, excursions and shows are in Spanish.

Loud!!! Not for a Family Trip

Old rooms, not good front desk service, beach accross the street is not worth this hotel. The late night show makes impossible for you and your chlidren to have a good night sleep.

Good but better avoid all incluse packages

The hotel was good, nothing luxurious. The beach crossing the road is good and the personnel were very nice. Food and drinks were ok but not of the best quality and in addition you lose the opportunity to taste the native authentic food.

The rocky club for Decameron hotels was nice, so if you go to any Decameron you should go there.

Fun friendly hotel

I think some rooms are nicer than others and we were in the not so nice ones, near the entertainment area. Pool areas lovely, beach accross the road good, great if you like snorkelling. Food good, lots of variety.

I recommend the tour of the island by chiva (you can book at the hotel agency) and of course the trip to Jonny Cay and aquarium on a sunny day is fantastic.

Entertainment was pretty good and if cancelled due to rain, you can go the the discoteca and dance some merengue which is always fun.

Not what I expected

This place is a totally 3 star hotel, it has a small beach in front that is very nice but rocky, great for snorkeling. The disco sucks, go downtown for nightlife. Some of the shows are nice, the show crew is the best. Most employees are not too helpful or nice specially the one of the lady at the reception, the tour lady and the towels lady.
90% latinos, some people speak English. Food was ok could have been better, We went to the international restaurant but the barracuda at Aquarium is much better, What I hated about the international restaurant was that at lunch and dinner you could not get your own drinks but had to wait for a waiter to bring you one and that could take a long time.
The tour prices were too high, $35 for a tour to Johnny Cay is ridiculous, anywhere downtown is not more than $20 including meal.
The island is pretty but the decameron are not the best, they are always trying to sell you into their Multivacation programs that is pretty close to be a scam, same as the discount coupons for the Suize Army perfume store, they will push you to buy there but the coupon won't get you a discount whatsoever... in general the prices are higher that USA.

Buses are 1300 pesos, (about 0.8 cents) they passed every 10 min, the problem is that in rush hour or when it gets full there is always somebody that did not wear deodorant...

First trip to San Andres

Enjoyed it, but I had the basic room offered. Not much to tell about the room. Restaurants were great and beach very close across the street. Everything else was great. Quite a ways down the coast from the main city, but the bus is convenient.

San Luis Decameron is a good hotel taking in consideration the cost of the room

I recomend this hotel, and overall San Andres Island, because we can travel around visiting other hotels at the same chain using the facilities.

Somente 1500 carácteres é pouco para descrever minha insatisfação com o hotel.

É um hotel antigo, com instalações simples que não funcionam. Tais como: televisão, tomadas, controle de televisão, ar condicionado e outros.

Wi-Fi no quarto não funciona, Wi-Fi só pega na recepção, tinha que trabalhar um dia e tive que implorar praticamente para que me auxiliassem na conexão.

Os atendentes não falam outro idioma que não seja espanhol, o que dificulta ainda mais a comunicação. O inglês que é o básico, não possuem.

A praia na frente do hotel não possui faixa da areia, apenas em dias específicos da maré.

O hotel é literalmente do lado oposto do centro, táxi para ao centro é basicamente 60 reais a cada viagem.

A limpeza dos quartos também não são boas. Não existe box, apenas cortina.

Se optarem pelo Decameron, não fiquem no San Luís.

A praia em frente ao hotel e poder utilizar os outros hotéis da rede são os únicos pontos positivos.

O \"albergue\" não se parece com as fotos do site devido a má conservação
Quarto sujo com baratas mortas desde o primeiro dia e nunca tiraram elas de lá
Banheiros da recepção e piscina IMUNDOS.
Funcionários insatisfeitos e mal educados, omitiam informações e destratavam os hospedes
Tentar reservar qlqr coisa era uma guerra, no mínimo 40 min. O \"sujinho\" estava entulhado de gente
Recepção quente e sem ventiladores
Comida ruim, mal feita e sem variedade
Como o \"albergue\" estava SEMPRE LOTADO quando a comida vinha era uma guerra pra comer
Bar com bebida intragável, musica apenas ao vivo e com cantor amador
Snack bar com banana-chiclete, cachorro-frio e hambúrguer que parecia sola de sapato
Longe de tudo ! 30 min do centro de taxi (56 pesos pra ir e voltar todos os dias)

Esses problemas são exclusivos do San Luis, pude visitar os outros hotéis da rede e constatar que o atendimento, comida e conservação são sensivelmente melhores. Nada incrível, mas melhor.

Fiz uso do \"sujinho\" apenas para dormir e (tentar) tomar café da manhã e passei o dia nos outros hotéis da rede.

Decameron San Luis nunca mais ! E vou fazer meu review no trip advisor também. Podem aguardar...

O hotel tem quartos em padrões bem variados. Primeiro nos colocaram em um quarto muito ruim, pois estava mofado e a janela não abria. No dia seguinte pedimos para trocar e nos deram um quarto bem melhor, com varanda no segundo andar. Então não dá pra ter certeza de que tipo de hospedagem você vai ter quando reserva o hotel, o que é muito ruim.

Pelo preço que é cobrado, a gente esperava um pouco mais da estrutura do hotel, como: restaurantes com comida mais saborosa, lanches da tarde e da noite mais variado, alem de salsicha e hamburguer e horários mais estendidos dos lanches. O hotel fica cerca de 25 minutos do centro, mas sempre tem ônibus passando na frente que é tranquilo de pegar, sempre tem táxis na frente também. Ficamos em um quarto que fica atrás de uma das piscinas, isso era um pouco ruim porque em determinadas horas tinham atividades recreativas com bastante animação e barulho.

Hotel muito confortável em frente a praia de San Luís, não é a melhor praia da ilha, mas é muito bonita.
O hotel fica um pouco afastado do centro da ilha, mesmo assim não deixa nada a desejar.

La peor experiencia de mi vida. Malas instalaciones. Empleados groseros. Pésimos eventos. Pésima comida. Pésima fiesta de año nuevo. Pésima instalaciones de playa. Pésimos las bebidas. Pésimos snacks. No había disponibilidad ni información de nada. Malos gerentes. Malo el servicio médico.. Inexistente. Pésimo sistema aires. Pésimas toallas.. Amarillas. No hay minibar para pasar el hambre y la sed del asco de de no comer en instalaciones. Pésima presentación comidas. I WISH I NEVER BOUGHT ANYTHING THRU YOU. YOU SHOULD HAVE MONEY-BACK GUARANTEES.. 14 MILLION PESOS DOWN THE DRAIN LITERALLY. FOOD POISONING.
