The place is far from the airport in the south part of the island accessible by buses that run every hour, and by walking on a dirt road, no Uber, just taxi, l was locked in, in the evening until the morning l couldn’t exit, Luis (seems like he is the owner and manager) kept mocking me making it seem non-offensive, no restaurants nearby, l ended up eating a mediocre breakfast, lunch and dinners were ok, Adriana was very nice, Luis was kind as well, but l didn’t appreciate the fact that l felt claustrophobic and he mocked me with that. After l was licked in, he transferred me to another room with a hammock at the lower level, room 19 was on the second floor at the end, l banged on the glass but no one heard me, in the morning l called Expedia, they assisted me, without being able to reach them, l eventually got in touch via WhatsApp, Luis came by, and slid the glass door, and began to laugh.

Worst travel experience ever! Not only the Islanders are rude, and provide the worst customer service ever, this property has some of the worst cleaning issues in any property I’ve stayed at. They completely ignored any claims but also denied them openly when reported to Orbitz. It was “normal” to them. Stay away from this island, and specially this property.

The owner is amazing in this property. My son left my iphone X in the back of a cab and they tried to help me get it back. I was extremely lucky because we had agreed that the cab would pick us up for the airport so my phone was in the cab when we met up again. It is a good example of the honesty and hospitality of the people in the island. While the property is far from town it feels like an oasis. My only complaint is the shower doesn't have warm water but everything else was great.

Best place on the island.

Great customer service, dinner is always a delight. The daily shuttle service to the north side of thw island is a huge plus. The hotel is located in a very quiet area and far from the city. Cesar is always helpful as well as all the staff.

Bleak Desolation in San Andres

If your desire is to visit San Andres Island and be far away from everything remotely interesting the island has to offer, this is the perfect place to stay. But then the WiFi, which might have relieved the tedium a little, did not work. The taps and showers spout non-potable salt water. You can of course purchase grotesquely over-priced bottled water from the mini bar in your room.

I hated this place and could not escape from it fast enough. The owner did seem like a nice enough guy.

A refuge from the rumba.

This is the place you go if you want to get to San Andres but stay out of the crowds. The site is tucked in the woods away from the hubbub and is very pleasant. The pool is nice, people good, and the rooms clean and comfortable. The is no good beach nearby (really not much nearby at all), but that's part of the charm.

Very isolated place. Taxi is the only means to get there - 40000 COP.
The first day I arrived there at 7 pm, straight from the airport, and there was nothing to eat until next morning! Breakfast is rather poor and the both days I spent in the property they do not even have black coffee for breakfast, only with milk...
Wi-if is very bad, despite the 2 or 3 lines they announced.
Everybody there is very very amateur.
Be aware of the mosquitoes. Carry plenty of the best repellent.

Very friendly people working there, but no WiFi in room as promised, and I asked for taxi to my next hotel, they decided to charge me the same amount as taxi and drive me there, in the middle of the road he ra out of gas, so I was in the car in the heat for 45 min waiting for the driver to go buy gas and bring back, and then he was lost and looking for the new hotel for another 30 min, a trip hat was suppose to be 20 min took 1.5 hour. Not good

Get away from the busyness of it all!

My husband and I were looking for some peace and quiet. We got that and a lot more. This hotel is on the other side of all the island buzz, so make sure that is what you want. It is like staying with relatives and old time friends in a comfy house. Not luxurious at all, but clean and relaxing.
The pros: you will feel like you're the only one in the hotel as you won't hear a thing in the simple yet spacious rooms.
Food is homemade and simply fantastic.
People will be helpful and super friendly. Cesar, will always give you honest advice and never try to sell you tourist packages just because. He will also get out of his way to make sure you feel spoiled and taken care of. Even their dogs will make you feel at home: Refeita a stray dog they rescued will steal your heart (and some food ;))
To improve: The breakfast selection. Fruit, juice, eggs and bread are a daily staple. A cereal bar and some cold beverages could help those with special diets.
The pillows could use a renewal.
To keep in mind: The place is far away from everything, that's the idea! So be prepared with things you might need through the day as the shuttle leaves at 9 am and returns at 7 pm. You can always take the local bus which is cheap, safe and the routes are easy to understand.
If you need to disconnect and are not fussy about having to have luxury go for this!

Nice escape from crziness of S. Andres megaresorts

Good value for S. Andres, but would be about a $65/night hotel anywhere that had some real competition. If you want an alternative to the big resorts, this is a good option to get away from them. Quiet with very good service, friendly helpful staff, and nice b-fasts to get you started. Easy enough to get around on the island from their location but land-locked, so you won't have immediate beach access. We used it as a stayover while waiting for our flight to Providencia, which is a much better location for a long stay as it's not over-crowded and trashed out like S. Andres.

Nice quiet place with friendly staff.

Had a great stay. Delicious meals and friendly and helpful staff. They helped us plan activities and we rented their car and bikes. A litle inconvenient to get around since the shuttle only ran once a day. Overall it was great.

We stayed at Mar y Sol for three nights. For us it was a great location, away from all resort hotels to the north of the Island. The rooms were comfortable and and the dinner every night was delicious. They can help you organise anything you would like to do around the island. I would recommend staying here

Nice, comfortable, great food and convenient shutt

If you're looking to stay in a luxury place, then don't stay here. You'll be at the southern end of the island, which is the opposite direction of \"El Centro\" or Downtown. However, that shouldn't matter very much. There is a shuttle every morning that leaves at 9am and takes you wherever you need to go for the day. I recommend Rocky Cay (breathtaking, beautiful beach) and also doing a tour to Johnny Cay and El Acuario where you can go snorkeling. However, during the day, you're on your own as far as transportation goes. If you're someone that just wants to go somewhere at 9:30 and stay until 7, then you can take a taxi back. Otherwise, you'll need to go downtown at 7pm or find a taxi (not that expensive) or the local island bus. The food at the Hosteria is EXCELLENT! The rooms are nothing special but perfectly adequate. It's a nice place and I do recommend, just know that you're not going to be anywhere near nightlife or restaurants.

A pousada é ótima, muito linda, com um contato especial com a natureza, vale a pena conhecer. Os quartos são simples, mas atendem as necessidades. Não há água quente, então verifique se deseja esse conforto em sua estadia. Fomos muito bem atendidos por todos.
Vale dizer que a localização da pousada é bem distante do centro e a locomoção tornasse difícil, especialmente após às 20h quando não há mais ônibus na ilha, a região tem pouca ou quase nenhuma circulação de taxi. Também não existe uber em SAI, então se deseja sair a noite deve-se pensar sobre ou considerar o aluguel de motos. Apenas dois lugares entregam janta na pousada, porém o local fornece o serviço de almoco e janta desde que confirmado com antecedência.
No geral gostamos muito, mas vale considerar esses pontos na sua busca

Lugar agradável e cercado de Natureza.

nossa estadia foi bastante agradável, no geral. Apenas achamos o estabelecimento, bastante afastado das principais atrações de San Andrés. Isso nos causou, alguns incomodos. Deixamos de aproveitar, a vida noturna devido ao isolamento do local. Mas, para quem estiver, ao procura de afastamento e tranquilidade, lá será perfeito.

Experiencia maravillosa!

Ambiente familiar y tranquilo. Múltiples servicios como piscina, alquiler de motos y carros, wifi en áreas comunes y opción de desayunos - almuerzo - cena.

Durante nuestra estancia tuvimos diversos problemas externos que de forma desinteresada César y su familia nos ayudaron a resolver.

En tiempos de pandemia nadie usaba tapabocas, ni exigía su uso a los huéspedes, incluso ni siquiera las personas que sirven comidas hacen uso de este. La habitación olía horrible, no le funcionaba el TV, el agua de la ducha y del lavamanos era salada. A demás era una habitación propensa a la entrada de animales pequeños como lagartijas y culebras. El hotel queda muy alejado de todo y la carretera se encuentra destapada por lo que no hay opción de hacerse en dicho lugar.

5 días excelentes con mi esposa e hija. Esta retirado del centro pero no tuvimos problemas ya que alquilamos un carrito de golf para los 5 días. También me encontre personas que no tenían vehículo alquilado pero salian todos los días a las 9 am y regresaban a las 6pm con Don Cesar (Propietario del hotel) ya que presta el servicio gratis de salir todos los días las 9am y regresarlos a las 6pm. Nosotros reservamos con desayuno y cena incluida (Deliciosas las comidas). Todo el personal muy formal. En general todo fue muy bueno. Recomendado para conocer y repetir.

Pésimo Hostal mar y sol, demasiado lejos de todo, lugar muy solo en medio del monte, camas demasiado duras y lo peor de todo es que no hay seguridad. A mi me robaron mi billetera con dinero y todos mis documentos de la habitación y los dueños no dieron ninguna solución siendo que solicitamos pilas para la caja fuerte varias veces. No recomendable para nada.

El hotel es super recomendable. Es cómodo, limpio, buena atención, comida excelente y unos jardines hermosos. Sólo ir preparado mentalmente que está alejado y trasladarse es algo complicado al principio. Nos costó adaptarnos... los huéspedes son super mal educados y podes llegar a pasarla mal... Pero depende de uno cambiar el chip. El agua fría de la ducha es otro temita... cada uno sabrá si le pesa... costaba... No era grave pero

No recomiendo el hotel Personalmente la experiencia que tuvimos nosotros no fue la mejor. el hotel queda muy retirado del centro aproximadamente a 25 min en carro sólo ahí una playa cerca que está como a 10 minutos caminando. El día que llegamos nos recibió Diana que es como la administradora del hotel y su atención fue descortes no nos informó nunca sobre los planes turísticos ni los horarios en el que sale la ruta del hotel al centro. En una ocasión nos dejaron sin almuerzo llegando a las 3 y 30 de la tarde y cuando preguntamos si nos podían colaborar la respuesta de Diana fue darnos la espalda y la auxiliar de cocina dijo que ella no sabía servir íbamos con un niño de 5 años y ni así les importó. En otra ocasión dejamos una toalla y una camisa del niño cerca de la piscina mientras comíamos algo en el mismo hotel y está se desapareció nadie dio repuesta alguna. Las comidas son las mismas todos los días o pollo pescado o lomo,los desayunos no se pueden escoger porque es lo que ellos sirvan, el agua de la piscina y en los baños es salada. La experiencia fue muy mala. San andres tiene una calidad de gente increíble pero nuestra experiencia con el hotel deja mucho que desear.

Es muy lindo el hotel, aunqye es un poco alejado del centro, para mi fue la oportunidad perfecta para conocer toda la isla, el transporte al centro es gratis todos los dias asi que no representa un mayor costo, recomiendo brindar agua dulce para las duchas, es quizas el punto negativo en todo el servicio, la habitación muy linda, aseada y comoda.

Es un buen lugar, pero se tiene que tener la disposición a:
-Pagar extra en taxi.
-Arrendar algún automovil (moto, mulita, carrito de golf)[buena alternativa]
-Llegar temprano al hotel
-Despertarse temprano para alcanzar las van que dispone el hotel
-No volver al hotel hasta la noche.
-Estar muy lejos del centro

El servicio es buenisimo, pero sinceramente la lejanía es una gran incomodidad. No lo recomiendo para familias, sobre todo primerizas en salidas de vacaciones con los hijos. Si son pareja o estás solo, si. Lo que destaco es que la gentileza de la gente del hotel es muy buena, desde el dueño, Luis hasta su señora Marisol; cuando perdimos la van gratuita que nos lleva al centro, ellos mismos nos llevaron. La gente del hotel nos antendio muy bien, personalizadamente. Sin ser mal agradecido les recomiendo el lugar, pero consideren que quedarse en el centro les evitará más de un dolor de cabeza. Luego de pensar mucho para hacer una buena experiencia, si van hartos días iría mitad del tiempo a este hotel y luego me cambiaría al centro.

Segunda vez que estamos en el hotel. El área es muy agradable, lejos del bullicio del centro, perfecto para familias.
La cocina es deliciosa y muy recomendada y los dueños del hotel siempre son atentos y ayudan a dar consejos de sitios para visitar.
Volveremos cuando vayamos a la isla.

Recomiendo la Hostelería Mar Y Sol. Precios asequibles, atención excelente, comida exquisita, habitaciones cómodas. Lo único que debes tener en cuenta es que esta retirada del centro. Un saludo especial al señor Luis, propietario de Hostelería Mar Y sol. Un señor muy amable, Cortés, sincero, claro, honesto y muy servicial. Gracias por todo espero verlos pronto.

De modo geral a pousada superou minhas expectativas. Como a maioria das pequenas ilhas do caribe, a pousada possui racionamento de água (na pousada não há chuveiro com água quente [o que realmente não é necessário, pois o clima é bem quente] e a água é dessalinizada), mas algo totalmente compreensível pra quem conhece outras pequenas ilhas caribenhas. A recepção da Maryssol e do Sr Luis é ok. Uma dica: faça sua reserva com café da manhã e jantar, pois a culinária deles é realmente MUITO boa. A distância do centro pode ser boa para uns e ruins para outros. No meu caso, atendeu às minhas expectativas, pois queria distância e sossego do agito dos grandes resorts, além da pousada disponibilizar motos para aluguel (aluguei por 12 horas todos os dias que fiquei hospedado lá, o que me deu a liberdade para deslocamento conforme bem entendia). PORÉM, conversando com outros hóspedes, a pousada disponibiliza transporte pago via van em dois horários durante o dia, o que pode ser ruim para uns, pois tem que aguardar o número mínimo de 8 passageiros (apesar de só caber 6 confortavelmente). Outro ponto negativo foi com relação ao WiFi, que ficou mais tempo sem funcionar do que realmente funcionando. No geral, atendeu as minhas necessidades, e outro ponto positivo é o valor.

Os quartos são bem limpos, espaçosos e com TV e ar condicionado perfeitos. Porém o sinal do Wifi só funciona na recepção. Fiquei hospedada durante 4 dias, sendo que 3 deles ficamos sem sinal de internet.
O Sr Luiz (dono)é muito simpático, mas muito confuso.

O hotel é um bom custo-beneficio. Preço justo, café da manhã gostosinho, pessoal sempre atencioso, quarto adequado (tamanho, ar condicionado, frigobar, wi fi, tv a cabo), ambiente agradável do lobby e demais áreas comuns. (Obs: muitos mosaicos e flores no espaço! Lindinho! :)
Como pontos negativos, destaco água gelada no chuveiro, banheiro não muito limpo e, principalmente, a distância da Hosteria ao \"centro\", restaurantes e passeios... Tem de alugar um transporte...

Vale o preço !!!! Longe só fique lá se estiver de carro ou moto, de taxi não, longe e não tem Nada perto. Cézar e seus pais são bastantes prestativos e fazem de tudo pelos hóspedes, mas a infra estrutura do hotel não ajuda, a ilha não tem Água doce nem água quente, lembre disso !!!!!!
