Located in the heart of the Alfama district of Lisbon, the hotel is the first boutique hotel in the city's historic area, with its narrow streets, traditional shops and the famous Fado restaurants. The property is just a 5-minute stroll from the São Jorge Castle and a 15-minute drive from Lisbon International Airport.

Memmo Alfama is a hidden gem off of a main road with the number 28 tram bustling by. It is steps away from the Lisbon Cathedral going down the hill, and a short walk to the top of the hill with an instagram worthy Miradouro. The view on the terrace is amazing, and the friendly attentive staff are always nearby for a drink or food.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Memmo Alfama Hotel. I loved how it was tucked away but near everything. The hotel entrance is inviting and sleek, I loved it. The staff was very attentive from start to finish. The breakfast was fantastic and could not be missed! I'm still impresses that breakfast was included as it was a great breakfast with many items for all. The views at the hotel was jaw dropping and we could not wait to take pictures. The #28 rides through all day and you can hop on at any time, jusT, WOW! The room was a bit small but cozy at the same time. However, I was not a fan of the bathroom as the lighting was too dark and there was an off and on stench coming from the shower area in the bathroom. That was very disappointing, I would love to stay at the property again, however it would have to be a room with a fresh smelling shower area. The view from the room was beautiful, but it was way too cold for the heated pool which was not heated in my opinion. I gave this hotel 4 stars because I think it could be a really great hotel if some issues would be addressed.

Memmo Alfama is one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in in Europe. We loved our time there. The staff were friendly and helpful. The decor is pleasing and well thought out. There’s a nice little gym and pool; everything immaculate. The terrace is a great place to sit with a drink any time of day and particularly at night looking over the city. Excellent breakfast in a cosy breakfast room. We recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

A treasure of a sweet hotel in the old town of Alfama . Stellar front desk staff for hospitality. One of the gentleman even came outside and carried my suitcase in. The manager was lovely as well ensuring we got an early check in. Beautiful breakfast and outdoor patio. Enjoyed the free walking tour they provided of the neighborhood. The room was clean and great bathroom. They even have a small outdoor pool.

This hotel is near shops, restaurants and Lisbon Cathedral. The hotel staff was friendly and breakfast was really good. The best part of my stay was the view from my room. I was in Lisbon for my cruise and was able to see the cruise ship from my room. Absolutely loved the view!! I caught the sunrise in the morning and just loved the view of the city. The views are beautiful! You cannot walk from this hotel to the cruise ship…you will need a cab or Uber.

Beautiful Hotel in the Heart of Lisbon's Old Town Alfama. Very convenient location for many restaurants, bars and shops.
Amazing infinity pool looking over the rooftops.
All the staff were absolutely brilliant, so helpful and professional, but a special mention for Rubee, Thais, Gabrielle and Monica.
Rooftop bar is a great place to sit and enjoy the view. The Fado night was so much fun and we really enjoyed the food and wine.

My husband and I stayed at Memmo Alfama for our honeymoon in Lisbon, and it was the most wonderful hotel experience either of us have ever had. The staff were extremely attentive and polite, they made our entire 8-day stay feel special and celebratory. The food and drinks offered by the Hotel restaurant and bar were out of this world, the views were unmatched, it was unbelievably quiet given the fact we were in the middle of Lisbon. It's in a beautiful, walkable, historic neighborhood in Lisbon and there were no shortage of activities, restaurants, cafes, pastries, for us to explore while we were there. 1000/10 will be back!

The Rose that is Quinta de la Rosa

Quinta de la Rosa is exceedingly well run. The experience from check in to check out is just wonderful in several languages (meaning they easily accommodate speakers of multiple languages). The restaurant is excellent. Food delicious, service superb (we especially liked Bruno). Pool is lovely. Design and view of the river. Will go back. Finally, the wine is very strong Wine Spectator has rated many in the 89-91 category and for the price this is super. Loved many but the Touriga Franca single varietal bottle was surprising.

A very nice, quirky boutique style hotel. We were probably slightly unfortunate in that our room was right next to their breakfast room and so it got a bit noisy from fairly early in the morning. As we were only staying for three nights we decided not to bother asking to switch rooms. There was nowhere to put our suitcases and clothes storage / hanging space was quite poor. Great roof terrace overlooking old town Alfama though.

This would’ve been an excellent stay except the AC stopped working and there was zero communication with us about it after we immediately flagged the issue when we checked in. I had to go to the front desk in the middle of the night when our room was nearly 30 degrees and ask for a fan, which didn’t help much, even when placed in front of the window.

The place itself is cute and location fantastic. We appreciated the city tour that was included. The breakfast and service was mediocre compared to everywhere else we’ve stayed in Portugal.

Memmo Alfama is a charming boutique hotel in a great historical area of Lisbon. The staff welcomed us warmly on arrival via Uber to the front door. A quick tour of the property was provided by our hostess who exhibited great enthusiasm for the hotel, its architecture, the convenient location, the neighborhood, and the available amenities offered. The view from the terrace encouraged exploration of this unique area of Lisbon. A short walk on a cobblestone street led to the Main Street where local shops provided great opportunity to purchase authentic Portuguese-made products suggested by our hostess in the hotel lobby. I walked out of one shop with an in- country manufactured bedspread loomed in traditional patterns. The day ended eating pasta in a little neighborhood restaurant after walking steep hills with great overlooks of the Tagus River! Can’t say enough about this wonderful hotel!

A little gem with a breathtaking view

Staff were so amazingly helpful from before we even arrived and just a joy during our whole stay. The hotel is full of character, history and stunning design elements. The rooftop pool and eating area are breathtaking. Fantastic location (be prepared to walk as it’s a hilly city). Breakfast was delicious. Rooms are small but you have everything you need. My one recommendation would be to ask for a hotel room overlooking the water or book a terrace room we hed a Room overlooking the patio which is actually the front of the hotel and was a little noisy

Memmo Alfama is one of my favorite hotels of any country. It is located in the vibrant, historic district of Lisbon (Alfama) and walking distance to many great sights. The staff are the kindest and most professional. The breakfast is great. But the best is the rooftop bar, where you can enjoy great food and drinks - or bring you morning breakfast items up there to soak in the sun and look out at the water and a great view of the area. Stunning views. Coming back from a long day touring, you can still enjoy the views while sipping on a Porto Tonico or other delicious drinks.

Perfect location, exquisite boutique hotel

A beautifully designed boutique hotel on a hillside in Al Famma area. Amazing rooftop view of local neighbourhood as well as the Tagus River. Breakfast menu selection was royal! Service throughout the hotel was friendly and efficient. Staff anticipated our every need. Hotel location is central in the old neighbourhood within walking distance of the old town attractions.

The room cleaner they use is very strong scented so if you have allergies you might consider that. I was finding myself reacting and I’m not allergic.

They were helpful in arranging transport to the cruise terminal the next day too. Thank you!!

Memmo Alfama is a great place to stay.
The views of Lisbon and the river are beautiful from the terrace, our room was very clean, and the location is excellent. Check-in desk staff was so friendly and always helpful. It was quiet at night since the hotel is situated off of the main street. Highly recommend!

My daughter has food allergies, and the concierge took care of making amazing dinner reservations for us, David took wonderful care of us at breakfast every morning and the daily warm welcome every time we returned to the hotel made our trip all the more wonderful. Lovely small hotel nestled into Alfama neighborhood. Great roof top deck although pool is currently under construction, and our view from room was as a result so so. Also felt like needed to have curtain drawn as room looked out on deck and many people are walking around the deck. Great breakfast. Lovely staff. Liked the vibe of the hotel. Would love to return!

Memmo Alfama is a beautiful boutique hotel well located to explore the city. Staff are exceptional, available work local recommendations and information. Breakfast was excellent, maybe a touch overpriced, but for convenience and quality it was still very good. The main feature of Memmo is the amazing outside terrace overlooking the Tagus and cruise ships. It was a great place to start or finish the evening with a glass of wine. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay at Memmo Alfama - the staff was fantastic and very friendly and welcoming, and the view from the terrace is beautiful. Jaime was a highlight waiting on us on the terrace and providing great travel advice! Two issues with the property to mention - one, the location is a little difficult, down a narrow road where most Ubers won't go, so you need to take a little walk (absolutely not a big deal). The second was something that happened after our stay. We travelled to other cities in Portugal, and I realized later that I had left my shirt hanging in the closet at Memmo. I messaged through Travelocity but got no response. The week after, we were back in Lisbon and having dinner five minutes away. I called them to ask if I could pick up my shirt after dinner. Even though I gave them my name, dates of stay, and room number, and even though they sent me a picture and I verified it was my shirt, they said they could not give it to me due to a \"policy\" that only the house manager could give out lost and found, and he/she was not in until 9:30 the next morning. We had to leave at 7:30, so could not wait. People should be able to make practical decisions based on the situation despite \"policy\"!

One of the most amazing things about Portugal is the warmth of the people. Not at this hotel. Some staff very friendly, others not at all. A beautiful property with incredible views of the old city but lacking in attention to detail such as carpeting in hallways needed cleaning and cupboards and room doors that slam shut (no soft close)…loud and jarring. Mainly unfriendly staff really took away from the experience.

It’s been a long time since I enjoyed staying in a hotel as much as this. At first the location seemed a little suspect down a side street, but it was very quiet and turned out to be great to be right in the city but just off the busy streets. The hotel itself is an amazing conversion of some old buildings to produce a very chic small hotel with great attention to detail. The rooms were excellent, good design, clean, stylish, well furnished, great bathroom and AC. The multi level rooftop terraces have a plunge pool and great views across the city and river. A great spot to enjoy breakfast, dinner or an evening drink and watch the sunset. The staff were wonderful without exception. Very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. There is a gym and book exchange. Overall a really excellent location to explore Lisbon as everything is walkable or a couple of minutes ride by Uber. Highly recommended

Tour guide around Aflame with Luis - the best

We stayed only two nights. I will tell you 3 things we loved and 3 things that could be better.
1. We loved our free tour guide given by the hotel with Luis. 2. The unlimited boxed water and 3. The location. Three things that could have been better were 1. The size of the room was so small that we could barely walk around or open our suitcases. 2. The view was blocked by a wall/fence and 3. Despite the rate we paid, breakfast was not included.

Memmo Alfama is truly a hidden gem. The terrace/restaurant had a million dollar view overlooking Alfama, paired with amazing food and drinks. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and had what we needed. The location was perfect for our stay, so close to so many major landmarks and allowed us to walk to pretty much anywhere we needed to go. The room was so clean, we got the partial ocean view balcony and it was truly magical. I cannot say enough for much we love this hotel, we will definitely return in the future. Overall the hotel claims 4 stars but it definitely deserves 5 stars.

Perfectly stunning

Perfect hotel in a perfect location with the perfect staff and with the most stunning views. We could not ask for more, every detail to enhance your experience was catered for. The room ( double with terrace) was quite compact but superbly designed and extremely comfortable. The breakfast selection and quality was excellent and the service ( particularly Monika) was courteous and efficient. In fact from arrival to departure the interaction with the team far exceeded our expectations and was the best we have ever encountered. There is nothing negative to add about this stylish comfortable well managed hotel situated in the perfect location in Alfama .
