Had a good stay, room was on the small size but clean and spotless. Hotel is a small boutique hotel with a limited number of rooms but great for a few days stay in Lisbon. Centrally locate, close to Castello de Sao Jorge, Praca Do Comercio, Santa Justa Lift and other sights within a reasonable walking distance. Had a nice breakfast with breads, buns, croissants, various sliced cheeses, cold cuts, vegetables, yogurt, juice, coffee and hot foods scrambled eggs, bacon, vegetable frittata. Had to leave for an early flight and they were nice enough to get a lot of the breakfast items out before their 7 am opening. Front desk clerk provided a map with details of getting to the nearby lifts to make the walking a little easier. He arranged a taxi to the airport for us and it was a very reasonable price compared to what we paid coming to the hotel. Were greeted on our way out to the airport by the hotel manager who asked about our stay.

Great location, clean rooms, and really friendly and helpful staff with impeccable English, even if they don't believe you when you tell them! 24 hour service which is always reassuring, lovely toiletries in the bathrooms, big shower, free water in the fridge for you on arrival, and a free drink in the bar downstairs with your stay. Couldn't ask for much more.

Dilapidated. There were so many things in our room that desperately needed attention. It felt icky. We couldn’t turn on the shower, use the phone to call the front desk or use the thermostat. There were bugs flying out of the drain. The courtyard we faced was disgusting looking. There was hardly any toilet paper and they gave us 4 tissues. The lighting in the room and the bathroom was so dim that we had to bring a bedroom lamp into the bathroom to do our makeup. The cleaning people were sweet and smiley.

If you want to feel you're in a hospital room...

We booked a standard double room for 2 nights.
On our arrival, we received an accessible room on the ground floor behind the reception that had handicapped designed bathroom (if you can call it design, see pictures), that made us feel like we're in a hospital room.

We asked the reception to change to a standard one as we didn't book such a room, and was told that they don't have anything else available for that night, and we just heard excuses and stories that most of their rooms have the same handicapped bathroom, they have large groups of physically disabled persons that come to their hotel so they need to have many rooms like that, and that they are obligated by the government to have those rooms.
We were only offered to talk with the manager the next morning to see if they have another room.

The next day they did transfer us to a different room in a higher floor, not before we heard the same excuses again, and they never even once offered an apology for that awful room and all the inconvenience (we had to pack all of our stuff and leave it in the room for them to move it later to the new room, as it wasn't ready yet around noon).

While it's understandable they are regulated to have such rooms, they should be booked as a separate room type and not provided for standard rooms!!

The new room was nice, however there was bad sewer smell coming from the bathroom. We didn't bother to mention it, as we didn't want to move again and just waited to checkout in the morning.

The location of this hotel was awesome. Its close by the center, lots of restaurants, shops, train station and a lot of tourist attractions. Cyril the guy who checked us in was very helpful and kind. Our room was cleaned everyday and accommodated my family of 5 fine. The hotel is old so keep in mind that everything isnt in the best condition but it was expected when visiting. Because it being old, i could here the people above us when they walked around and our shower doesn't have a door so water got all over the floor. Overall, I'd rate the service and location a 10 but the condition of the hotel a 7.

arrived at the hotel and checked in no drama. the room smelled HEAVILY of perfume (all over the linens and thick in the air). this would not have been a deal breaker, just unpleasant except there were also dead bugs ALL over the room including on the bed. when we called the front desk, someone came up and felt terrible, claiming that the bugs must have come in through the air vent. gross. ended up requesting a refund and stayed elsewhere.

This hotel is a charming old building with lots of character. Location is excellent! In Chiado, near all the amazing restaurants, view points, walkable to all the beautiful sites in Baixa, easy to catch trams, buses, near the Metro, close to shopping.
The breakfast is delicious!
Service #1 everyone is kind, friendly, they even packed our breakfast when they knew we were checking out before breakfast times!
The shower pressure is excellent, bathroom quite big compare to European standards. Its just 20 min away from the airport, we used Uber to travel to the airport, super affordable ride :10 € included tip, and arriving by train is very easy and short ride from Santa Apolonia Station.

first the staff was awesome. the young man that checked us in was over the top helpful. property itself is listed as a five star hotel, not even close. we actually switch rooms, first room was in horrible condition and the second room was not much better. to start the worst of both rooms was the nasty dead carpet. the strict control of the air conditioning is ridiculous. Positive stuff, staff amazing, lobby bar open all day and theFREE breakfast spread was delicious.

Love this hotel , had good breakfast and nice rooms , it is close to everything would come again. Love the service from Cyril, Facu and Carlos however the night front person never really help us had always a negative answer to us . We asked if we could leave our luggage since we were coming back 3 days later and he said no . Thanks God Carlos was walking in and he said yes then on the last day we asked if we could do late check out and he said no. We the asked Fácil and he allowed us to stay until 1 pm that is all we need it . Over all everyone else was fantastic even the general manager .

Decent Hotel in a great location.

Good location. A very short walk to a stop for the famous TRAM.
A little misunderstanding at check in in regards to transfer from airport. I understood it was paid to the hotel but nope, paid to the driver. Overpaid by 20$ for the transfer.
Room was ok. Fold out bed was ok for the kids.
Shower had no conditioner and the towels were a little wonky. Terrible blowdryer so bring your own. Sink was not clean but it was easier to clean it myself than to bother the front desk.
They held our bags when we checked out so we do appreciate that.

Customer service was great! Always available and ready to assist. Some extra comforts were missing such as shower soap and bars but I’m not sure if this is an American practice and I wouldn’t knock them for it, the hotel is beautiful and the decor is lovely. Breakfast was very good and served for a good length of time which made it all the more convenient. Honestly can’t say enough about the customer service, Best service we received in all of Lisbon. Hotel’s location was great; room was clean and had good size; staff was very friendly. I liked the bed, but my wife complained that her back hurts in the morning. The carpet in the room that I was in did have some stains, and the AC was not working very well, felt much hotter than the thermostat read. There was a mini fridge in the room which did not feel very cold and the phone didn’t work although it was plugged. The floors from the rooms above also creak a lot which kept me up along with being too hot to sleep. Overall not a bad property, it’s close to everything and the staff is helpful, just a little expensive for what you get in my opinion.

Disappointing - closer to a 2-star hotel

Not great for a 4-star hotel, it had the feel closer to a 2-star. We stayed at 3-star hotels in Lisbon which were much nicer.

The hotel is locked up after hours, so it’s hard to get back in, and the rooms and décoré are very dated - and the entire hotel had a weird smell to it.

Also, there is rarely someone at the front desk. When we arrived no one was there.

I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it. Very disappointing overall and I think the hotel should be downgraded. Definitely not a 4-star.

The breakfast was good except for the coffee which was horribly bitter. The room was okay, the bathroom teeny tiny but adequate and we got used to it. The carpet in the bedroom was dirty and badly stained which was a bit disappointing.
Overall a good place to stay.

The property condition was excellent. It looks like it was just updated. Everything looked new. The buffet breakfast was very nice. What I didn't like... we arrived at 1:45 PM, but couldn't get into a room that was supposed to be ready by 2 PM. Then they didn’t put our luggage in the locked luggage closet. When we came back after 2 hours of sight seeing our luggage was still sitting out wheee anyone passingby couldget into it. And this is just my personality, but I hare silly joking from the front desk. \"The city room tax is 20 Euros per peeson per night.\" When I pulled out my credit card... \"ha ha ha, it's just 2 Euros each\" so, great facility, but some annoying service or lack of service.

Service was great, but the cleanliness and condition of the room left much to be desired. Carpet was heavily stained, so much so that I asked for it to be cleaned in a certain area (which I have NEVER done before). They were very apologetic and immediately took care of it, but a few large stains remained. Wallpaper was also peeling off in the bathroom.

Fantastic location, very central city. It was my first time in Lisbon, and everything was so close by. The staff were very amazing and nice. Air conditioning in the room was not working as it was still too hot at night, when using the shower it leaked water through the door therfore wet floor. Breakfast was ok. Great location and our room was nicely upgraded. Probably the best hot shower experience a hotel can provide! The staff was polite and accommodating and a 24 hour bar makes a last minute nightcap possible. Good value and very cose to the main shopping district.
