Small rooms with balcony, no cabinets to put your clothes, has shelving where you can put your belongings, there is no landline phone to call out and no more staff in the building after 1030 pm, there is no coffee maker nor a small fridge. Provided bottled water everyday.There is a safe deposit box. Walking distance to a lot of places/ restaurants. Good location.

A helpful pamphlet is provided to let you know where important things are around town. The room was small, but this seemed average for Lisbon. I didn't have any issues here and enjoyed my stay. Staff was kind enough to check in with me daily to make sure I didn't need new towels since I left my DND on the door the entire trip.

As a warning, the elevator is very tiny, so if you are traveling with a few people and need to get to a higher floor, it can be difficult. You do also have to travel up to the first floor from the ground floor before you can use the elevator.

We had a late check-in due to a delayed flight and lost luggage, and the staff member was less than cordial, and when I tried to explain my Expedia booking to pay at the property she did not take any interest in resolving or offering support regarding trying to charge my card before my arrival. There is a set of stairs to go up to the elevator, so it does not barrier free. The room itself is clean and the space was quiet.

Rooms are smaller than expected with weird layout. Staff are nice and friendly- no complain about that. Very few amenities- no water/coffee/iron in room. We had to go to the terrace area to get anything. One of the annoying thing was the room heater was not turned on automatically, the first night was freezing- we didn’t realize we had to ask the stuff to turn it on. Its a great location but expect quite a bit of street noise. The shower could do some work, during shower water was leaking everywhere.

We just checked out after 6 night stay and will come back to this same hotel after visiting Porto for 5 nights. Very satisfied with our room size and condition. Friendly staffs and love the mattress as we had very good sleeps everyday. First impression upon check in was so-so due to small reception area and elevator starts on First Floor. These were just minor issues. After checking in, we became happy about the hotel condition, location, and great staffs (and great shower water pressure!). We are happy to be back after five nights away in Porto.

It looks like there was a brand new bathroom. This was the cleanest bathroom I’ve ever seen with absolutely not once spec of mildew mould in the grouting! Price was quite good

The location was awesome. It couldn't have been better located. It was a short walk to anything you wanted or needed. Staff was great very helpful. The room was very clean and maybe too clean. The scent of cleaning products was so strong it started to give me a headache. They couldn't do anything about it because there were no other rooms available. They tried to compensate by offering me a bottle of wine which was very nice.

The room was VERY basic despite the nice photos in the listing. There is a definite mismatch between the photos and reality. I booked a superior double. My room looked nothing like the images. It was small. I barely had enough room to open my large suitcase on the floor. The photos in the listing show a large shower but the reality was just a single narrow shower that leaked all over the floor with every shower.

WARNING: the rate is 4-star but I was told this is a guest house not the same as a 4-star hotel.

If you want something that is very basic, located, clean, no amenities but friendly staff this is a good choice.

Only the location was good — disappointing service and experience

I stayed at Esqina Urban Lodge in Lisbon and unfortunately, the only positive thing I can say is that the location was great. The service was very poor. The staff were generally unfriendly, and when I lost my vest in the room (which I never even wore outside), I asked multiple staff members for help. I had to repeatedly follow up myself because no one got back to me unless I asked. The only update I ever received was, “We’re waiting for the cleaning staff to respond,” and nothing more. It felt like no one was actually trying to help.

This happened on my second day, and since I never had the room cleaned and the space is extremely small, there aren’t many places something could just “go missing.” The room itself was tiny with almost no privacy — I did book the smallest option, but the pictures online were definitely misleading.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless location is your only priority.

The hotel is very convenient. One block from the train and one block from a central promenade that has tons of shops and restaurants. There is an elevator in this renovated building however it’s only from the 2nd floor up. Rooms are big enough for a couple and the bath room showers are very large. Having the sink in the bedroom has its pros and cons. Most guest will be comfortable with it I believe.

This property is very well located in the center of the historical district. It has very limited amenities. Even though the pictures posted on the app make this property looks nicer, it was good. The rooms don’t have refrigerator, coffee maker or iron to press the clothes. The elevator works from floor 1-5
But, in general is a good hotel. Very quiet and very clean. Very close to all the major attractions.

This place was great. So many food options nearby. They were very helpful with airport transportation to and from the hotel at a reasonable price. Everything was clean. I received wine and a pastry. The photos on the hotel’s website are a bit selective — they highlight the best angles, so the actual space felt smaller than expected. The room itself is extremely compact, with no real seating area or desk. I even had to keep my carry-on luggage out on the balcony due to limited space.
The bathroom setup is quite tight, with the toilet and shower separated by a frosted glass partition — it works, but it’s definitely snug, even for an average-sized adult. On the positive side, the bedding was comfortable, though there wasn’t much room for bedside essentials; I had to plug my chargers in on the floor. There’s also no proper closet or storage area, so I ended up hanging clothes on the TV stand and door frame.
On the plus side, the hotel staff are super friendly and helpful, and luggage storage after check-out is available. The location is excellent — just a few steps from the metro station, making it very convenient for getting around.
Overall, it’s a very small, functional room with a bathroom, best suited for travelers who don’t need much space and plan to spend most of their time exploring the city.

It felt like a bait and switch from their website. The whole building is in renovation and the \"lobby\" was barely a closet. There was no elevator until the 2nd floor and all the hallways looked like prison walls. The room itself was fine-but there was nothing welcoming about the hotel itself. Our friends that were staying there as well, were offered breakfast in the 'main hotel' (don't even know where that was?) and we were not offered anything.

This is on a very busy street, on a Wednesday night there were street musicians playing loudly until midnight. At 7am they were pulling tables out on the street for breakfast. If you are sensitive to noise this is not the place for you.

Our friends had smaller rooms where the shower door goes directly into the room which is strange. We had a larger room with a separate bathroom but there was no shower door or curtain so the entire bathroom floor was flooded.

Also there is no staff at night. One night the fire alarm went off and it was extremely confusing. The firemen eventually came but no one communicated if we should evacuate or what.

Although this hotel was close to the main area downtown it was on a side street, not well light and had some shady characters sitting all along the curb outside. Staff is not there at night so beware! Our last night there someone set the fire alarm off at 1am in the morning. Pretty sure the place does not have standards like our country because we sat outside on the curb for 15 before another fellow Canadian called their emergency number because no one was coming and we could smell something burning. Following her call the fire dept was there within 10 minutes and no one spoke English. We were not compensated at all! I would pick somewhere else in the vicenity just not this place!

We liked the location to many sites and restaurants near by. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to get us what we needed and give us information about the area.
Beds were comfortable. To take note the lift was one floor up from the main reception desk but the staff helped with our luggage, which was nice, also when we checked out. The room could use a full length mirror, a small fridge, and only one small night table beside one of the beds could use 2. Thank you to the friendly staff!

It was in a great location everything on the doorstep yet you couldn't hear any noise off the street at night.There was a welcome pack consisting of local pastries and a bottle of wine waiting for us in the room.The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke english. The room was very clean and had everything we needed and a safe .We had breakfast at their sister hotel only fve minutes away where there was a good selection of hot and cold food and drink accompanied by excellent friendly service for at a set price.Everthing was just perfect for our stay.I would certainly stop there again and recommend it .

The hotel is situated in the very convenient location. It is surrounded by the restaurants and shopping area. Metro to airport is 2 minutes walk and the famous square is 3 blocks away. The hotel focuses on the sustainability and ecology. 2 pastel da nata and a small bottle of wine welcomed me when I entered the room. Keys are digital, so you don’t have to worry to carry it around and lose it. Staffs were very friendly, and I chat with them everyday. They offered a complimentary cocktail. The entrance to the hotel appears to be a bit dodgy alley, but I was fine in and out of the hotel alone even at night. It’s a bit noisy during the weekend due to the rowdy tourists on the street late at night. Bring ear plugs.

Just wonderful. Everything was great. The staff friendly and accommodating. The location right in the center of the historic center. Just minutes walk from food, pastries, the water, the cathedral, transportation. The room is the perfect balance of chic and contemporary. We were in room 12 on the first floor and honestly couldn't be happier. Im a big guy, 6'ft 4\" (193cm) and the shower was one of the best showers I've fit in ever, in any hotel. Esquina Urban Lodge would get 6 stars if I could.

The proprietor should have indicated the room given to me was one floor above Rea Augusta. It is the main shopping area in Baixa-Chiado.
Should I stay there again, i would book for Esqina Cosmopolitan further away from the center pedestrian mall.

Great location that is a central hub to a lot of tourist attraction. 10 minutes walk to tram 28 station, to 15E tram station so you can go to belem, to bus station that take you to tile museum, to train station to Sintra, and train station to cascades and ferry.

It is a 20 minutes Uber ride from airport. A lot of restaurants nearby that offers variety of cuisine.

The hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. Room is clean and tidy. Pictures tell everything. They have a elevator from 1st floor so you do need to bring your luggage from ground to 1st floor first. The air conditioner works very well and it is absolutely delightful in the summer, especially between 2 to 5 pm. The sun can be scorching hot.

The location is great. Unfortunately there’s no elevator on the first floor so you have to carry your luggage up to the second floor to access the elevator there. We only stayed here two nights and it was fine, but it could use some new towels in the bathroom. Our window looked out directly into the apartment across the street and all we could see was a large old shirtless man smoking cigarettes on his balcony so that was a disappointment.
