It is a nice hotel right in the center of Lisbon. Good size too with spacious bathroom However, you can’t control the temperature inside the room, there is a thermostat but i guess it has a central control. I understand it is winter but it would be nice if you have options such as providing a fan to those that finds it very warm. Even if we were able to open the windows, we can’t leave it open because we were right across a bar it is too noisy. The water in the shower takes a long time to warm up, you have to turn it on for at least 15-20 mins. The staff though were amazing especially Kenya (i think thats her name) they are all helpful and very friendly.

Staff was friendly enough and location was great but there is a problem with the air conditioning. We went end of October and room was always hot. The air conditioning vent is on top of the window ledge. The curtains block the air. If you open them then the light from street and sun come in. I couldn’t sleep it was so hot so got a battery fan. Can’t imagine how hot it would be in summer. If you need air not really the place for you.

Front Desk Ana didn't seem she wanted to help. I asked her to mark down on a map for a restaurant she recommended. She seemed very bothered by it giving me the bothered face.That's just simple question and service. That's the 1st time I felt a hotel staff didn't want to do her job. We were on the top 5th floor and noone was supposed to be above us. But every night, it sounded like someone or something was stomping on top of us.

Front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. Luggage storage was a benefit for early arrivals. Rooms were a reasonable size. Being able to open the windows was a real benefit. Bathroom was well used and was in need of repair. Laundry service was below average, towels were frequently not clean or missing. On a positive notes the bed was very comfortable. Location is excellent, close to subway and in a very walkable area.

I wonder how this hotel was rated as a 4 star?! It is a 1 star motel at most! The only nice thing I can say about this place is the location and nice staff! It is extremely poorly conditioned, no amenities what so ever and truly not even close to decent! Very old, dark and filthy rooms and hallways. Had to wait over an hour to change my room immediately after I saw it, cause they couldn't move my luggages to the next room. The new room was exactly the same, paints were cracked on the walls, bed had a 2 inch foam on a box spring, sponge pillows that didn’t even fit inside the pillow cases cause they were so bulky, empty fridge that didn’t even work after I plugged it in, hardly any lights in the bathroom and shower but still noticed holes and cracks in the bathroom walls, not even a soap holder next to the sink or in the shower, had to hold the soap in my hand entire time showering, and lots of noise from outside! Long story short, pick another hotel, plenty around that neighborhood. They need to change the name from Stay to \"Stay Away\"!!

The shower has black wall and black floor with no light above the shower, causing the shower area very dark in which I don't feel the cleanliness inside the shower. This hotel was literally steps from the metro station making our trip home so simple. We have seen many people lugging their luggage on the cobblestone sidewalks but we only had about 20 meters to the smooth metro floors. The room came with a king bed and was clean and comfortable. We did not have the breakfast but it looked good. It was very close to the shops and restaurants and we found an excellent sandwich shop and breakfast cafe within 2 small blocks.

The location of the property is so conveniently located! Many of the major attractions are very close by, and the metro station is a few steps away to quickly get you where you want to go. Restaurants and shops surround the hotel, so you won’t have to go far to get what you need.We had a wonderful experience with the staff and the service was great! We recommend the breakfast buffet at the hotel as well. The buffet has several great items to choose from at a very reasonable price. The room and amenities worked out well for us. There was some street noise from time to time, but we expected that with being conveniently located in such a bustling area. We would definitely stay here again, if we make it back to Lisbon.

Staff was either good or unfriendly - particularly disappointing experience when we came back to our room to get ready for dinner reservations and shower - though there were no towels, they had all been removed to launder - though not replaced (I was told it was because the laundry was “late”). I had to go downstairs to get towels, the staff was bothered and rude and when seeing I was disappointed just finally handed them to me without any apology or anything. This was in the evening. A note could have been placed in the room to make us aware there were no towels, or they could have left our towels behind. This was just one experience. Surprisingly unfriendly. Also never received any Expedia VIP rewards or room upgrade despite this having been advertised upon by booking.

We liked the way the hotel was decorated - nice but not formal. Our room was spacious. The ac was on a timer of sorts and it kept getting hot. The pillows were not comfortable, but the bed was. The breakfast was very tasty. Our room was not sound proofed from the outside and it was terribly noisy all night during our stay.

This hotel is located in one of the prettiest areas in Lisbon!! Everything worth seeing is within walking distance, can’t beat the location for the price!!! some reviews mention it being loud at night, we stayed in a room with windows to the alley and the street and experienced very little if any noise at night. The staff is friendly, rooms are clean and bigger than average, the breakfast could be better but it wasn’t bad, just not a lot of choices but we appreciated that it had fruit, yogurt, cereal, scrambled eggs, sweets, ham, cheese and coffee, sounds like a lot but other hotels usually have way more than this. No big deal though, the location is great and we’d stay here again any time!

We had 2 rooms here. They were both clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The location was perfect. We were one block from the busy noise- and yet our building was quiet. It was easy to walk everywhere and we felt very safe in this area. (For reference, it was a 14 minute walk from the fort (Castelo de Sao Jorge), 5 minute walk to the Arch and Commerce Square, and easy to get to hop on/ hop off bus)

The hotel is in a very centric location. The metro station is practically next door. You can go up the street to visit Chiado. Breakfast selection was complete. You can do your own fresh orange juice. Breakfast time is until 12 pm.

Room faced another building which had broken windows and was filthy. Had to close the curtains. When I inquired about an upgrade to a room with a better view I was told they were full. However it didn’t feel like the hotel was full. Not that many people coming and going. Also could not control the AC and it got hot in the room but when I opened windows I got bugs. Hotel was in a great location if you don’t spend much time in the room.

Great vacation in Lisbon at Stay Hotels Chiado.
Staff were really friendly and helpful on numerous occasions. They allowed us to store our bags while touring, gave great local advice on sites and ways to travel around Lisbon, put the football on the big screen in the lounge so we could watch the Inter Milan vs Barcelona match (awesome match!!).
Sincerely, thanks to all the brilliant staff at Stay Hotels Chiado. We will return!
To other visitors - location is great, easy to get to the Metro line and loads of historic sites and restaurants within walking distance. The Hotel is clean, quiet and reasonably priced (considering central location).

The location was great! And at least one staff member was very friendly and helpful. There were stains on the carpets on the corridors and a funky smell in the lobby. The room was boiling hot when we got there and took hours to cool down. The bathroom mirror doesn’t have sufficient lighting for shaving or make up. And if you don’t put a sign on your door that you want the room cleaned they won’t automatically do it. And I was not informed of this. Which is very annoying. Also the pillow where super thick and hard to sleep on.

The rooms are poorly designed with the toilet and shower easily visible through a glass wall. I'm baffled why there isn't a curtain or something to allow some privacy for people using the bathroom. I guess it's supposed to be hip, but I can't imagine who would like this design.

Interesting use of top floor space- they put an upper level sleeping loft. Best layout for a family.
We were provided a tea kettel and tea, but no coffee in the room. Toiletries and towels were ok, not as nice or abundant s other hotels. Staff is cute but inexperienced.
Our originatal room lacked AC. we were told that the people before us didn't complain. Then that the desk sees it is on and set to 16*. I said if it's 16*, I'd be shivering!!! I was sweating! She finally came up and agreed it was hot and changed our room.
Breakfast was not nice with no fruit, powdered scrambled eggs and did not have glutten free anything.
This is the second hotel in Portugal that this AC thing happened. They act like I'm stupid and don't believe me that it's hot. The temperatures are controlled by the staff, not the guests. Staff sees that the room is set to reasonable temperature, then argued that it's cool. Then excuses... it's a hot day ,(duh, that's why i got a place with ac!) The sun has been shining into the room (the blinds are all closed). You need to wait a bit for the room to get cool. (Over an hour should suffice). After a while in both cases someone finally came to the room and felt that, yes, it's hot! And then changed our r
You must fight for comfortable temperatures. I understand Europe doesn't love AC, but these newly made hotels have been designed with it. The old way a to have cross ventilation and FANS. OK on warm, not hot days. But these rooms don't even have that.

All I can say is this place was dirty. The carpet looks like it hasn’t been cleaned for YEARS. The chairs were gross. I felt like I needed to wear shoes around the room and shower slippers. For the price, it was so underwhelming. The location is great, but they can do a better job of cleaning their rooms. I would never come back nor will i recommend it to anyone else.

It’s not the Ritz but is perfect for travelers not wanting to over spend on a hotel they will only sleep in. Great centralized location making most places to see walkable. Check in was easy. Reception staff has been extremely courteous and helpful. Lobby was simple but nice. Room was basic and met our needs. Window would not lock but being on the 3rd floor, I still felt safe. I would stay here again.

Great location, 1 win walk from subway station! Shopping district and close to the water!

Staff was also wonderful and helped us whenever we needed anything.

Only downside is the room is really out dated. Shower head kept falling down. Although the room was big, it needed alot of updates. If its a place just to sleep, its perfectly fine.

Do not expect a quiet sleep since the hotel is located across a bar (which we knew). 4/5
