But this is as lame as we will get, just to tell you about our place and our affair with this city. You can find us at the top of a hill, on a street called Madalena.

And if you get here you will also find a lot of people like you. Travellers from around the globe with a passion for design, detail, craft, culture and fine living.

At the Cosmopolitan Lodge we want to be more than a traditional hotel. More than a one night stand.

We would like you to feel emerged in this eclectic space and feel like you are part of it, just as in a club. Moreover, this is no island.

There was a overwhelming smell of bleach. I work in the NHS and it reminded me of the way hospitals used to smell.
The staff were all polite and helpful, but 45 minutes wait for breakfast and was told there was still two orders in front of ours. This could've been a temporary staff member, because nobody takes 40 minutes to make 4 omelettes.

The room was really clean, beds were made everyday whilst we were out as well as given fresh mugs for tea everyday, replacing the spare toilet paper when needed, given fresh towels mid week all without even having to ask. Staff were amazing, extremely welcoming and happy to give great recommendations. Location is perfect, minutes walk away from metro, train station, Alfama, major attractions, the centre, shopping etc. Breakfast was basic but fresh with good options. Overall, great experience, everything you need and highly recommend!

The outside terrace was lovely, the staff were friendly and helpful . Mario deserves extra credit for his hospitality and going out of his way to help us with directions and our breakfast offering. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and although the drop coffee ran out Mario kindly made us a couple of cappuccinos. Our only issue was noise from pipes and upstairs that sounded like someone was pressure washing. We were notified at the front deal that it was an issue with tenants in the building.

The location was excellent, close to restaurants, transportation and tourist attractions, with a very handy that a supermarket was close by. The hotel staff is helpful and friendly. The beds are super comfortable. The location is walkable to the center and restaurants. I hope to stay there again in a future visit to Portugal. If you visit this property, go up onto the roof rooftop and have something to drink.

We had a two week stay at Esquina, great location, ten minute walk to multiple city plazas, Sao Jorge Castle, Lisbon Cathedral, great grocery store right across the street, along with an elevator for reaching the higher parts of the neighbourhood, hundreds of restaurants, yet very quiet at night. We could actually see Sao Jorge Castle and the Tagus River from our balcony. Hotel staff were always very friendly and helpful with recommendations. The value was fantastic and we wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at Esqina Cosmopolitan Lodge. The location is perfect — just about a 10-minute walk to the main attractions, which made exploring the city incredibly easy and convenient.

The service was excellent from the moment we arrived. Check-in went smoothly, and they even allowed us to leave our luggage before the room was ready, which we really appreciated. We were also able to check in a little earlier than expected.

The rooms were spotless — everything was clean, polished, and very well maintained. The hotel itself is beautiful in a simple, elegant way. It has a relaxed, stylish atmosphere that feels both modern and welcoming.

Another great feature is the bar, which is open all the time, along with a cozy cafeteria area that included room services. It was very convenient.

Overall, a fantastic experience. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

The staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. They helped us book a tour to Sintra and Cascais. We stayed in December and the room was cold at night. The heating did not work, but the staff provided us with extra blanket to keep us warm. There was also a nice bottle of wine to welcome us to the hotel room and the room was clean. The only other difficulty with the hotel is its location at the top of a hill. Otherwise, the hotel has a good proximity to Rossio Square.

This hotel is for low budget people, like young students who are traveling with a backpack. It is in a very good neighborhood, very safe area, across paid parking (even though they stole the gas from my rental vehicle) and supermarket. Very lovely lobby, friendly staff. But the hotel itself is a very cheap one with the sizes of the stairs, elevator, rooms, breakfast area, shower, toilet and the “furniture” in the room. Painted walls and dusty. The breakfast is ok for 2 night stay. During this trip I had been in 3 different hotels in 3 different cities. And believe me: this hotel should be called “good” but not “excellent” and the price at the top season should be no more than $100 per night. Off peak season less than $100. We had a great time in the city where all the sightseeings (monastery, church, palace) are overpriced (plus the dollar’s low rate) and probably that’s why we are satisfied with our stay in this hotel.
Anyway our thanks to the receptions and the breakfast staff.

We had a wonderful experience at Esqina Cosmopolitan Lodge during our recent visit to Lisbon. The location couldn't be better - perfectly situated for exploring the city's main attractions and within easy walking distance of great restaurants and shops.

The staff truly made our stay exceptional. They were warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. They were incredibly helpful in making dinner reservations for us at some fantastic local restaurants. Breakfast was a highlight of each morning. The quality and presentation were consistently excellent.

Overall, Esqina Cosmopolitan Lodge exceeded our expectations. The combination of its prime location, attentive service, made it the perfect base for our Lisbon adventure. We'd definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

We stayed 4 nights here. The location was great. The staff Lara was very good. She always addressed me by my name. She was always smiling. The breakfast was good, fresh omelette was great and so was the pancake and yogurt. They had other items in the buffet.
Walking distance to most attractions. The room was small but ok. The pillows need to be replaced, bed was very comfortable.
We got boxed breakfast on our last day as we had a very early flight.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Location was very good. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants. A short block away you can pick up tours at living tours. Also near shopping areas. There is also a grocery store nearby. Room was spacious. I highly recommend this place.

The staff is amazing and the hotel is a perfect location, walkable to every attraction. I’m use to bigger rooms but it served it purpose. I highly recommend if you’re staying for a few days. The staff went above and beyond and EVERYONE was so nice and helpful.

Great location, walkable to many attractions. Rooms are smaller but very avant garde. Staff very helpful, nice bar with two levels outdoor patio. If you are expecting a Hilton type of hotel, this is not for you, but just like the cover of the memo pads in the rooms says \" Where the worldly come to stay \", then the Esquina Cosmopolitan is for you.

This hotel is quaint and very modern. They’ve modified an old building in the old part of Lisbon to modern standards. Big bathroom and shower, even USB by toilet! I loved our view looking down on old town and the nearby water. The staff was always helpful with directions and suggestions.

We felt safe and comfortable the entire trip! The staff was exceptionally helpful and the room was very clean. The lighting in the bathroom made applying make up difficult. Quirky boutique hotel in a great location. Perfect for exploring Lisbon and close to the metro, loads of great bars and restaurants, and main tourist sites. The only downside is the lack of some in-room facilities. There is no table, and nowhere to store your toiletries. Breakfast is basic but good, and they had some gluten free items.
