The views from this hotel are absolutely incredible, and the heated pool is a great bonus! It’s located a bit outside Positano’s city center, but they do offer an hourly shuttle bus. Just a heads-up — the shuttle can fill up quickly, and if you miss it, you’ll need to wait for the next one.

There’s also a private beach and a boat taxi to the Positano port, but both close in October, so keep that in mind when booking your stay. The gym doesn’t open until 9 a.m., which might be a little late if you like to work out early.

Overall, a decent stay with stunning views and good amenities — just plan ahead for transportation and seasonal closures.

Incredible views from room and terrace. Staff were wonderful, friendly, always wanting to help with whatever you need. Breakfasts were wonderful, incredible selection, view and live music each day. Pool is lovely and has pool bar staffed, beach access very comfortable, includes menu of food and drinks. Water taxi available for pickup from Positano pier is so helpful. We enjoyed the spa on the property as well as the two restaurants available.

Funicular broken, had to do 8 flights of stairs outside in the rain. Shower blocked and overflowing even after repairs. Ceiling was leaking because of the rain so the maintenance workers were making loud construction noise. Included breakfast is fake powder-like scrambled eggs, no omelettes, benedictines, etc. The view, the location, the private beach front are really nice. My wife and I stayed three nights in a \"supposedly deluxe room with large terrace\", the hotel quality, the rooms and service is 3-Star at best, nowhere close to a 5-star.

Our stay at Hotel Le Agavi was truly unforgettable!

Booking was very easy, and the check-in process was smooth. The staff were immediately helpful upon arrival, especially with our luggage, which made us feel welcome from the start.

The setting of the hotel is absolutely incredible. It was easily the best views we have ever had from a hotel. The balcony of our junior suite overlooked the sea and city in a way that felt like a dream. Rooms were spotless, perfectly sized, and very comfortable, creating the perfect retreat after long days exploring.

The dining experiences were outstanding. Breakfast was impeccable with plenty of variety and delicious options. We also had the chance to dine at Remmese, the hotel’s restaurant, which was of extremely high quality and a highlight of our trip.

Facilities exceeded expectations. The private beach access was wonderful, complete with floaties and noodles that made relaxing in the water easy and fun. The gym stood out as the best in Positano, open air with breathtaking views while training or doing cardio. Transportation was seamless with punctual shuttles and a water taxi that made it easy to reach the city center.

Staff professionalism and kindness were second to none. Nearly everyone spoke excellent English, and Sonia in particular went above and beyond to recommend restaurants and give tips on navigating the area!

WOW…we didn’t know what to expect and we found heaven @ Hotel Le Agavi. From the front desk staff, room service, housekeeping and the Sommelier!! 15 out of 10 stars. If you want to pay a little more to have your own beach club,
Pool, restaurants, spa, gym this is your spot. If you want luxury service with the best view of the coast, Le Agavi. Free shuttle into town to go out every night or you can take the boat taxi. We absolutely loved it and we will be back next year.

The property overall was very nice. The views were excellent! The rooms were clean and had beautiful views. Some of the staff were great, others not as friendly as we would have expected. It is a tough walk to the city center (a shuttle is available however) as the hotel is not very close to the city center. The “beach” is not a sandy beach- it is a “dock” where you can enter the water. The lounge area at the water is very nice and has a restaurant. The pool was very nice (heated) and again had beautiful views.

We had an incredible two days, everything was very nice, the view of the room, the room cleaning, everything was very well thought out. It was a very elegant move that they came to the room in the evenings, closed the curtains, prepared the bed for sleep and left chocolates on the pillows. It was also great that they ironed our clothes without asking us. We were incredibly happy. The only thing missing was the breakfast, which could have been better. Thanks to you, the hotel we will stay at every time we come to Positano has been determined.

Everything was great but be aware that they do not run AC in off season. We were here in April and our first night was pretty rough. The front desk brought us a fan and we kept the windows open so it wasn’t all to bad. Also they don’t have the lift, Beach, boat, or water sports available that were advertised so don’t expect to use those amenities while here in April. Food was excellent especially the free breakfast in the morning. Drinks are pretty expensive, they run about 20€ - 25 € each.

Hotel is beautiful and in a fantastic location . Staff excellent. The restaurant is great but fine dining isn’t something I would do for 4 nights and there’s only room service as an option. The other (beach bar) was closed. Finally it is advertised as having air conditioning. This is only set to heating until May so there was no air conditioning.

When you enter the main gate you’ll feel like you’re in weird hood but once you enter the hotel you’ll be in paradise. The views from everywhere in this hotel are to die for. Waking up to the sunrise and the lake was amazing. The service, food and attention was absolutely incredible. The only thing missing is an elevator from the ground level to bring your bags down to the reception. This is the only place I would stay from now on when visiting Positano. If you can afford it book it !! You won’t be disappointed.

We stayed there 2 nights and our toilet broke about 6 times, and every time they sent someone to fix it but it did not work. It was very inconvenient. The AC was not working efficiently either and it was super humid at night. I would def not rate this hotel as 5 star, and it was way too overprice for what it was.

Not a 5 start hotel. We have stayed In many 5 star hotels and this one is lacking in a lot of areas. You can tell it’s a hotel designed for lucrative purposes, not for hospitality of their guests. Aside from it being huge, it’s very inconvenient to get around, most of the times you’re lost since there’s no direction sings on how to get around and since your up in a hill, they offer shuttles every hour so if you missed it you must wait another hour and taxi prices are ridiculously expensive, for a 5-10 min ride they charge starting at $70 euros.

They don’t offer complimentary pick up from or to the port for their guests.
The pool is very outdated, we didn’t even get in.
The beach club looks abandoned from the outside and the food is horrendous, I don’t understand how they have a Michelin star restaurant but offer such mediocre food to their guests at the beach club.
Their breakfast selection is very basic and not up to 5 star standards
To top it off, at the time of checkout (I’ll reserve the name) didn’t even ask how our stay was but was quick to ask for a tip when paying our bill, we were ready to leave!

You’re only paying for the view here, nothing else.
I wish we stayed at another hotel, I do not recommend.

We loved this hotel. Away from the business of the main area in positano. But the shuttle and water taxis made it easy to get to town when you wanted to. We enjoyed the beach club, the pool and the spa. The concierge was so helpful. Arranging car services, dinner reservations and even helping with a boat tour. Every server, shuttle driver, boat captain was so incredibly friendly. We stayed an extra day.

Doesn't Resemble Quality of a Relais & Chateau

The view was exquisite, the dinners were good, but the actual rooms were just okay. Not what I expect when I book a Relais & Chateau (we have been to many, this was not up to the average quality). The funicular (property elevator) between areas is slow and broke for an hour while we were stuck downstairs - so do not stay here if you can't go up/down stairs! The suite we booked had no living room coffee table and was a little sparsely decorated in the bedroom, which gave a less than plush vibe. The bed and pillows themselves were not comfortable and there was no comforter on the bed either strangely. We couldn't control the AC. It was just a strange stay. We are in a lot of hotels this trip and I kept forgetting it was a R&C and instead thought it was a mid-tier Marriott (but for the outside view and price). Service was great but didn't get several room service orders correct, just as a note, since we still enjoyed our food.

Overall, I would not recommend this hotel - there are lots of alternatives in Positano for a better price (or even in Capri!).

Marvelous views, the hotel’s location is rather far from the crowds yet is barely ten minutes away from Positano central town , what you shouldn’t miss is “la Serra “ restaurant which exceeds fine dining with its exquisite flavors and presentation crowned with the majestic views . Friendly staff all around .. however it is worth mentioning that the structure of the landscape ( not only the hotel) is not friendly to people with disabilities, the hotel itself though equipped with a funicular and an elevator , still requires quiet few steep steps. Each room had its own spacious terrace that adds a lot of space to any room type you pick, but is surely a natural floating deck in those stunning views, a cloud in the sky if I may say

Service was great, people were nice and professional, and the beach location is to die for....Only negative was the work out area needs an equipment upgrade, but honestly the place makes you want to do everything but work out. This is not a 5 Star hotel. More like a 3 Star Hotel. The rooms and facilities are dated and grungy. We paid $1500 per night for a small room. The air conditioning did not work and we barely had a view. There is a lot of stairs to climb at the resort to get anywhere: it’s fairly far from the town. The only positive part of the experience was the nice staff.

Incredible hotel and better than the photos. The hotel is situated on a cliff so there are many floors which are either accessible by elevator or the funhicular. The views are stunning and I particularly liked that it was located just outside of downtown so it wasn’t super crowded, but they offered an hourly shuttle to town which was super convenient. Staff including Elisabetta were phenomenal and so helpful. The jewel was the beach club which was one of the best swimming experiences I’ve had- the water was stunning and the sun beds had a great view. Drink and food prices are slightly higher than what you would find in downtown Positano.

Hotel is beautiful but be prepared for a lot of steps to get anywhere. Front desk staff were very helpful and very nice. The staff that served the beach area not so much unfortunately. The only thing with this hotel is it is outside of the town so you are dependent on transportation to and from which can be difficult. Also with restaurant suggestions ask about the walking situation. Maps apps not very helpful and ended up walking 37 flights of stairs to and from one restaurant

Hotel Agave was a very nice hotel with several amenities (private beach access with lift, amazing views and a great breakfast). Room we were in had a fantastic view but for the price we paid this time of year it was priced double what it should have been. Older rooms that without the views would be considered dated and in need of some upgrade. Also not sound proof as you could hear the neighbors next door. Staff was fantastic with great recs for local food and how to get around. Overall, was a nice stay in Positano. Come outside of high season to get a break on prices and this place is a great choice.

Hotel provided shuttle to/from Positano city center, which is super nice (otherwise would cost $25-40 pp each way via taxi). Continental breakfast was included everyday, nice spread. A contradiction, some parts great, some disapoint

Incredible location but desperately needs decorating and updating. Great facilities, unbelievable views but common areas are inexcusably old, furniture looks like a garage sale and interior decor awful. Staff wonderful, beach club great, gym may have best view ever. The Michelin star restaurant has great food, but it feels like a cheap banquet hall. Rooms redone, but not well yet terraces are magical. Not a five star unless they improve common areas and rooms.

This hotel was not what we excepted. Unfortunately, it is rated a 5 star but it felt more like a 3.5-4 star hotel. First of all, our king size bed was the combination of two single beds stuck together, Not to mention how uncomfortable those spring mattresses felt. Then we had plumbing issues in the shower and sink. At times, there were sewage smells coming into our room. The air conditioning was another issue. We were so hot throughout the night as the walk mount AC unit was blowing cold air and not air conditioning. We requested maintenance comes and fixes it while we went to dinner. Upon arrival, the staff claimed to have fixed it, and instead dropped off a fan at our bed side. Finally, bugs everywhere in this hotel. You can’t have breakfast without 5000 bees or flies digging into your food. It’s sad that they have no solution for all these problems. Definitely would not return there!

The views at Hotel Le Agavi are truly spectacular and unlike any other hotel in the area. The hotels private beach club and pool are also incredible and truly unique. The staff are incredibly friendly and always willing to assist their guests.

The only downside to this property is that the furniture in the lobby and some of the rooms is a bit dated. Luckily, we were moved by the kind staff to a more modern room. Finally, the hotel is slightly outside Positano, so you take a shuttle into town. It is actually great to be a little bit outside of the busy centre of Positano. I just wish the shuttle ran more frequently than every hour.

Paradise in Positano

This hotel is in a beautiful location on the side of the mountain looking over the Mediterranean, Positano and the Amalfi coast. The food and drinks were delectable! We had easy access to the town via a water taxi (for a fee), the local shuttle or walking. Our room was beautiful with a terrace overlooking the bay, loungers & patio table where we ate breakfast each morning. We enjoyed Swedish massages in the spa that had a relaxing view of the beautiful blue ocean! The only recommendation…don’t order top-shelf liquor. Our 1 1/2 oz martini with top shelf vodka was €30!! We were given a drink voucher for our next visit. The staff was very friendly and treated us like royalty! We will definitely stay again when we return to Positano!

We loved our stay and our room. Only wish the schedule for eating wasn’t so strict. There are certain time frames for breakfast lunch and dinner, and Since it’s not easy to leave the hotel or get around Positano when you’re hungry you better be sure to get to the restaurants at correct times. With that said there is room service and the staff is very accommodating if you’re hungry. You can also wait for a shuttle to town. Also wish gym opened before 9:30 am, inconvenient for day plans. Besides that the hotel is one of the most gorgeous I’ve been to ! We will be back

This hotel is absolutely marvelous! It’s located 10 mins by shuttle from the shopping zone and downtown Positano, which in our opinion, was the best blend. This hotel is extensive and has many marvelous terraces from the street level all the way down to the Beach Club. You can see Positano’s beauty from this part and enjoy the scene without the craziness of traffic and motorcycles. It’s amazing how they can run such a large hotel and make every guest feel like you are their only guest??
The rooms are all different but all beautifully decorated in a charming Italian style.. they provide complimentary waters and an assortment of nuts and almonds - truly a nice touch!
The Beach Club is amazing - lots of chaise lounges, with umbrellas. And again the staff can’t do enough for you.
This is truly a 6 star hotel!

Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed with our recent stay. We expected the room to be small and simple but chose it for the view of the city. Our balcony had ocean views but trees on the property blocked our view of the city. Also, the pool is completely shaded all day so unable to get any sun. The property was fine, although a lot of walking and stairs so may not be unsuitable for older people. We had to have someone come fix our toilet twice and the AC didn’t work either. Location is fairly far.. 10 min drive but they have a shuttle going every hour

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. Not too often am I surprised and delighted by a hotel but Hotel Le Agavi exceeded my expectations. I expected fantastic views but I did not expect how well the property was kept up, The green space was beautiful. The amazing breakfast buffet along with the live music in the morning made for such a memorable experience. I was unaware that the hotel restaurant La Serra was such a culinary experience that had recently earned a Michelin star. I enjoyed probably one of the best meals ever. It was an absolutely wonderful experience.

This property is so special and made our honeymoon one that we will never forget. Thank you to the entire staff at Le Agavi for being wonderful and so accommodating. Every person I encountered that the same review of the hotel and restaurant staff - 100% and overall a masterpiece of a hotel find. All hotels should strive for this kind of excellence. I understand why all the reviews I saw were so positive! It is because this hotel is heaven on earth! I plan to be back for our 1 year anniversary. Please remember me the way I will never forget you!

very nice hotel with excellent service.
heated pool is a bonus as kids could swim everyday.
only issue was with the expensive parking at 40 euros a day which was pricy.
overall - good hotel and enjoyable stay

Lovely hotel in Positano

We really enjoyed our stay at Le Agavi. The rooms had a fantastic view and the pool and particularly the private beach are great. The hotel location is only a 15-minute walk to the town centre and the hotel also offers a free bus transfer. Overall a great experience and highly recommended.

- Excellent restaurants (La Serra is amazing) & pool area on premises
- Very nice & accommodating staff

- 15 minute ride into Positano - not a huge deal, but would be easier to walk & not have to think about when to catch the shuttle to and from
- A/C & all electric in your room turns off when you leave it. So while going green is great, you're unable to charge anything while out & it's warm for a bit when you return

These things considered, it's a 4.5 out of 5 for us. Great place with some inconveniences that I would not expect at this price point.

Location of this hotel is perched atop a cliff overlooking the charming Positano town. It’s stunningly beautiful. Typical Italian decor. Staff and overall service was top notch. Only downside is our bed and pillows were not the most comfortable.

Staff very accommodating. Hotel built into a cliff so there are a lot of stairs to climb everyday. No store to buy water or other necessities. A distance from Positano so you take a shuttle that runs every hour. I would stay in town.

Five star hotel in every department

Super in every respect. The service, food, amenities, and room were all top shelf. We loved the beach club and variety of restaurant options on premises. As a result, we only needed to leave the hotel a handful of times during the 5 day stay.

The staff were effortlessly friendly and genuine Italians. The breakfast buffet was fresh from the gardens and local. The grounds were absolutely breathtaking, each corner with postcard picture perfect views. Will absolutely return!

Not the best, not the worst.....

Well it is a beautiful hotel but its a tough hotel. My husband and I called it the mouse trap. It is a thousand vertical steps from the main level of the hotel down to the beach. You can also get there by 2 elevators, a funicular, and some stairs. Quite a lot to go through. The views are amazing, the location is not super close to town but they do offer a free shuttle service. It however does not drop you close enough to the center so be prepared to walk. It's not so bad going down but a bit rough coming back. The beach club had great food when I ordered lunch but we went back for dinner and couldn't get any service. Only received water in our 30 min wait so we left and ordered room service. The daily breakfast was okay, not the best and not the worst... The welcome staff were very friendly, they even helped me when I left my kindle behind which was great. The rooms were fine. We were pretty disturbed that we had to walk by all of the hotel laundry and cleaning supplies in the halls every time we went to our room. Only an armoire to put your things in. The beds were okay. They did not have a turn-down service which we got used to at all the other hotels we stayed in. All in all we paid a lot for this hotel and besides the amazing views, I can't say it was worth the price which was a bummer for us.

Please is great but the front desk, takes the cake....Stefano in particular was very helpful finding us restaurants and trying to find accommodations for last minute reservations into restaurants....
