First, we got an upgrade to a Junior Suite with stunning views of Positano. The suite and property as a whole were super clean! The gourmet food at their II Tridente Restaurant was mouth watering!! But their main attraction was their amazing staff! Particularly Anna at the Front Desk and Luigi and Luca at the bar. If there is a downside is that the property is showing its age. Other than that..kudos!!

We absolutely loved this hotel — it’s amazingly gorgeous, with the perfect mix of vintage charm and luxury. The views from the terrace were breathtaking, especially at sunset, and the beautiful tiled floors gave it such authentic character. Every detail felt thoughtfully designed and cared for. The staff were incredibly attentive, professional, and kind — they made us feel genuinely welcome. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Gorgeous hotel with amazing staff. Every single person working there treated us with such care. They were able to arrange a very comfortable private transfer for us to and from the airport and book us a very nice couples massage and Amalfi coast boat tour last minute. We were there for our honeymoon and the desk staff made sure it was very special and provided extra accommodations for us. Absolutely stunning views and amazing food, perfect destination for us and we will stay here every time we visit Positano.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. At check in the staff for so friendly and helpful. During the whole stay, all of the staff were so friendly and attentive. The hotel itself is a beautiful historic building with oodles of character, which works perfectly for a holiday in Positano. The breakfast each day was simple and classic, very tasty, and the service was first class. The hotel restaurant was also one of the best meals which we experienced during our week in Positano.

This hotel is everything it claims and so much more. Location truly is everything in this respect. Most importantly, the staff is absolutely amazing. We are grateful for the opportunity to relax and enjoy one of the best spots in this beautiful area. We researched extensively and chose the best! The service, quality, and recommendations are perfect.
We took a day trip to Capri, cooking class, and a day at the beach. Our day started off so exquisitely every morning with a cappuccino, fresh custom juice, custom omelette, and all the Italian pastries we could want! The rooms were so comfortable we needed to be wary of time and not oversleep. The views looked like a painting and we didn’t even order a sea view. Our area had everything we could have wanted in this stay and I don’t think we needed to go to other areas of Amalfi since we had the best beach, view, shopping, and restaurants!

This hotel is one of the best places I have ever stayed. The view can not be topped and I felt like I was a guest at the home of a wealthy aristocrat. The hotel is beautifully decorated with antiques and artwork and my room was spacious and comfortable with a nice bathroom. I would absolutely stay there again when I return to Positano.

Stayed at the Poseidon hotel to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary and it certainly lived up to its expectations. This is an exceptional hotel our room overlooked the pool with the biggest balcony I’ve ever seen. We booked ahead and had our dinner on the first night in II tridente, everything from the stunning views of Positano to the service was brilliant.
Would highly recommend this hotel for any special occasion on just staying in Positano.

Hotel Poseidon is by far one of the most beautiful and lovely hotels that I have visited. The hotel staff ( front end and bar/ restaurant servers) go out of their way to make your stay a memorable one. I can’t say enough about their service and hospitality. Breakfast served on the terrace is a wonderful start for the day. We enjoyed cocktails each evening ant the outside bar and had an amazing dinner at Il Trident restaurant our final evening. A special thank you to Hotel Poseidon for a trip of a lifetime.

Absolutely Magnificent! Staff were friendly and there is ALOT of staff! Convince of being on a Main Street for pickup and drop off with luggage. Walkable to restaurants, beach and shopping. The hotel was beautiful, breakfast and dinner food was delicious and atmosphere of the lounge great. The only issue the the Turkish Bath was broken and it was unknown until arrival that it's assigned to the Health Spa department who makes available for $85 only if you have a $200 per person massage. I suggested to staff that the bath be under control of the hotel, as is the pool, and allow for use as an individual option I would have loved a massage but felt they were eextremely overpriced. Other than that the hotel is definately wonderful.

Everything about our stay at Hotel Poseidon was absolutely incredible. The views of Positano from the terrace are breathtaking. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the restaurant- all were wonderful. What makes this place really special, besides the view and amenities, is the staff. The service is impeccable. Something that wasn’t really advertised well that I thought was great was the transfer to the hotel that they arranged for us. The driver picked us up at the hotel in Naples we were staying at beforehand, and we got a private transfer for a much better price than anywhere else I could find. I don’t have anything bad to say about this hotel and I already can’t wait to return!

The location of the hotel is great. It has a beautiful view of Positano. With 15 minute walk you get to the shops and restaurants. There is only one restaurant near the hotel. The room’s furniture is very old and overall didn’t worth the price and they are very strict about having a guest at the hotel which was very strange as Positano is a place to reunite with your friends. The room service menu is very limited. Housekeeping team was fantastic. They work so hard for guests to enjoy their stay.

Wonderful views from our room which gave a surreal feeling whenever we went on the balcony! Hotel was very clean and all staff were friendly. Restaurant/bar gave good vibes especially during the night, and their food was delicious! Only reason why I didn’t give 5/5 stars is because they charged for tea bags and coffee packets when we ran out of it in our room! Surely a lavish and expensive hotel such as this can provide basic tea and coffee for free. I’m assuming housekeeping would’ve replenished them if I didn’t put up the “do not disturb” sign, which begs the question why I was charged for it then? Apart from that, I highly recommend Hotel Poseidon!

Older Hotel with Great Restaurant and Views

The hotel restaurant and lounge area are great--spectacular views and good food! The hotel itself is clearly one of the older in Positano. It was repeatedly mentioned that despite its appearance the elevator was safe. Our bathroom was cramped with a very small shower--not what I would have expected for a room at this price point. Plugging in a hair dryer blew out a fuse on our first day so had to be careful about what we had plugged in. There was a storm one night and the wind caused a shutter outside to bang for a couple of hours which made it hard to sleep. Staff very helpful in setting up transportation.

Absolutely loved my stay at the Poseidon. The staff really does an amazing job and goes out of there way to make you feel as if you are staying in the family villa. Beautiful view from the pool area where breakfast is served daily. I highly recommend staying at the Poseidon if you are in Positano.

Experience exceeded expectations

Was very happy with our stay and accommodations! The hotel feels like you are a guest in an Italian Villa. The staff are attentive, but not overly and not in your face. The rooms and accommodations are classic Italian decor, but updated and clean. The amenities are thought through - complimentary beach bag and towels when needed, flip-flops, quality robes, towels, toiletries. The bar staff is friendly and the food and drinks excellent. The location can't be beat - the pool deck and views! proximity to the touristy shops and beach, but far enough up that you can avoid it all and instead visit the higher quality, excellent restaurants and shops going up the hill from the hotel. It has a direct stair access (long and steep) to the harbor to bypass the crowds. I was very happy with our stay and would love to return again.

The location is wonderful, which is very important in Positano, as they are close enough to walk to the beaches and restaurants easily. The staff is superb and are very knowledgeable about Positano and the Amalfi coast, and they are well-connected to other businesses in the area, which was so helpful during our stay in terms of booking excursions and reservations (especially during busy season!!). I could not recommend Hotel Poseidon enough!! Make sure you say hi to Tony by the pool, he is fantastic ! And be sure to try their restaurant, which is considered very authentic and delicious, even by local standards.

The property and staff were excellent, no complaints about them at all. Just the hotel was VERY expensive and to be honest, the rooms not very big and very Blah, your basic everyday room. For the amount of money you paid to stay here, you expect something more. For the money, would not recommend.

Beautiful hotel in the middle of Positano. Within walking distance of everything. Staff was extremely accommodating. We noticed that the sliding door that led to our verandas did not lock, so they had a lock installed the next day. Breakfast was very nice, as was the pool. Very romantic ❤️.

Where to start. As beautiful the hotel is and as so well located as it is, it is still surpassed by the AMAZING staff! Wonderful people working in every capacity. Josie is the best. Liliana amazing Tony at the pool was our buddy. And of course the big Italian “bear” manager. Location can’t be best. Room was amazing. Food was tremendous. We will return!

We could stay there for months!
The staff was fantastic and friendly, especially Giancarlo and Aldo at reception and Lucca at the restaurant.
As we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary they offered a bottle of prosecco when we arrived, which was really nice!
The room was spacious and charming, with a comfortable bed, powerful AC, a large and very clean bathroom, and the view from our balcony was breathtaking.
The included breakfast was amazing, with a great buffet, including mimosas, with the wonderful view of Positano and the sea, sitting in the beautiful outside area of ​​the restaurant.
The hotel's location is excellent, near shops and restaurants. Photos do not do justice to the beauty of the place, it is much better in person. Very charming and beautiful, I can say that it is a 4.5 star hotel altogether and with excellent service.
It was definitely the best stay of our trip, better than we imagined.
We highly recommend it! Thank you for everything!

We stayed here for 4 nights to end our 3 week honeymoon across Europe, and quite simply we couldn't have picked a better spot to end an unforgettable trip.

The views from our suite's balcony and the common areas were breathtaking, we couldn't get enough of them. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed, large TV, powerful A/C, big bathroom and of course the lovely private balcony with amazing views of lovely Positano and the sea.

The staff were fantastic and friendly, especially Tony who was our server at the pool. The included breakfast was amazing, with a great buffet assortment as well as a station for made to order omelettes, pancakes and waffles. We had lunch at the pool most days, which offered a good assortment of food like sandwiches, burgers, salads and appetizers. Tony recommended we try the fried squid, which was delicious. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant, Il Tridente, one night and the food and service were excellent. We enjoyed ending each night on the terrace cocktail bar with a fancy drink while admiring the spectacular views.

The location is as convenient as can be in Positano, close to many shops and restaurants. The beach was a short walk away via the steps. We enjoyed the pool so much that we only went to the beach for sightseeing.

Quite simply this was the best hotel we have ever stayed at, and it was very hard to leave. We highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit Positano and we look forward to returning again in the future!

Absolutely spectacular property and staff. I emailed ahead and they took care of everything from the transportation to the hotel as well as Dining Reservations and Boat Rental. Room was exactly as shown in the picture and was fantastic. The views are incredible from the room and when dining or lounging by the pool.
