These guys wouldn’t know hospitality if it hit them in the face. Rude, condescending and made zero effort to be accommodating. Ive never tracked anywhere where staff couldn’t care less.
I asked for an iron. They refused to provide but said they will be able to arrange an iron service next morning (must pay to get things ironed). Morning came around, they back tracked and said staff was busy and could not help. They would need until the next day to get it done. Also the one floating iron they had in the hotel (which could provide for a fee) was also untraceable.
I have never experienced this level of lack of service. They literally act like they are doing you a favor by letting you stay there. Book your stay somewhere else.

The balcony was amazingly calm. The hotel & room were extremely clean. Shower was small, but worked for one. The bed in room 4 was soo comfortable! But someone who likes a firm pillow, I could've appreciated a thicker pillow. Staff was amazing. I'd happily rebook this hotel.

On our first night we asked for some recommendations for restuarants and got an extensive message with many options. We were able to try several of them and they were all excellent.
The hotel is beautiful and charming, the room was adorable and better than pictured. We got a sea view and would highly recommend. We got breakfast in our room, eating on the deck with the most glorious view you have ever seen. It was a pinterest worthy backdrop. The breakfast options were vast and delicious. My mom and I are still talking about the homemade cake. I couldn't recommend this place enough and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This hotel was absolutely magical. The location is great; right next to several very good restaurants and up the street from the best gelato! The breakfast served to you every morning was just lovely and it was pure luxury being able to wake up to breakfast in bed or on the balcony overlooking the sea. We could even shower while looking at the sea because there was a window that could be opened in the bathroom. Everything was immactulatey clean and comfortable. The yellow colors and gold sconces and decor were everything I would imagine for a hotel in Italy. I just can't say enough about this hotel. It was probably one of my favorite hotels I have stayed at and I have stayed in many luxury hotels all over the world. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I will definately return.

We had an incredible stay at this hotel and we cannot say enough about the owner and the staff. They were truly wonderful, so kind, thoughtful and friendly. Just fantastic people. The room was nicely decorated, very clean, and the balcony was so nice, overlooking the sea each morning and night in Positano is truly a privilege. We enjoyed the light breakfast brought to our room each morning and the croissants were some of the best we had in Italy. We rented a Vespa nearby and rode to Ravello and took the ferry another day to Capri. We look forward to staying here again, but longer next time!

The bed is probably the worst bed I have ever slept in. It was very hard and the springs were almost exposed. The shower was also not great….it would cycle through freezing cold, scalding hot and then a normal temperature. Each cycle about 5 seconds.

Our stay was good, but the staff were OCD crazy about everything. Every time we came out of our room, they were on us for one thing or another. When are you checking out? Make sure you close the door behind you! We felt like we were getting harassed and our parents were yelling at us every time we left to do something. It was weird.

We had a wonderful time in Positano and we couldn’t have had it without the wonderful Palazzo Talamo. Beautiful view with a balcony, breakfast options, a great TV and AC in the room, very conveniently located just enough away from the commotion by the beach to sleep in peace. If you wanted to hang around though there was Caffe Positano right outside (be patient with the staff). Lastly, you Iust need to be prepared for the early morning staff, around 0700-0730 there is a bit of noise and conversation due to breakfast prep. Otherwise, the owner and her staff were very pleasant and helped make our stay a great success. We hope to be back soon!

A nice 3 star hotel, right in the heart of positano, my favourite restaurant was only up the hill on the left so it was an ideal location, but also ideal if you want to walk to the beach and further into town down the mountain.
Staff are absolutely lovely and you have breakfast served onto your balcony with a sea view , so you cant complain, its only a standard breakfast, but i wss happy with that. Overall i was happy with my stay, nice balcony view, nice staff and a nice location.

Stay was awesome! The view was unbelievable, the staff was so friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect. It was closer to the beach than properties higher up the hill (still a lot of steps, but doable). They brought breakfast every morning that we enjoyed on the balcony with the quintessential view of Positano. The room itself was pretty basic, but met our needs and the view from the bathroom was incredible. Would recommend this property for sure.

Overall our stay was very satisfactory. The hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. The balcony view was BEAUTIFUL and the aesthetic of the hotel and the room had such beautiful tile work.

The hotel is well located near the steps to the beach. Hotel staff was friendly. However, there is absolutely zero sound proofing in the rooms, it was very noisy all day and night. Breakfast was absolutely terrible, they dont even let you have an extra bread slice. No full mirror in the room, mattress was too hard.

We had a lovely vacation at Palazzo Talamo! Our room felt very spacious and had an amazing view of the water that was such a joy to wake up to every morning. The location cannot be beat either- we loved that it was super close to fun restaurants and right next to the stairs leading down to the water. The staff was excellent and helped us on many occasions to plan outings and schedule taxis and recommend restaurants. They also provide beach towels for use at the beach clubs which I found to be very helpful! We also loved the morning breakfast in the room and we were happy that we could pick what time it would be delivered. We would DEFINITELY stay here again!!!

Fantastic Hotel!
This hotel was amazing! The views from our balcony made us not even want to leave! The location was great, about a 10 minute walk down the beach and port. Going up took us a little longer with the stairs, but it was also easy to walk along the road. You can choose from multiple options for breakfast and it will be brought to your room to eat on the balcony. We didn't even want to leave this review because it's such a hidden gem for the area and price but would highly recommend it and we can't wait to come back to visit!

Absolutely fantastic hotel with gorgeous sea-views!
Staff were very friendly and always willing to help. The area around the hotel is great for shopping and dining and it has stair access down towards the beach and pier area.
Definitely recommend especially if you want a more Italian style and feel to your accommodation during your trip!

Great rom with an amazing view of positano and the bay. Staff was friendly. Hotel is roughly 300 steps down/up from the beach. Located right across from a few good restaurants. The breakfast served in your room is amazing and a great way to start the day enjoying the view on your porch.

Amazing 3 nights in Positano
We used ferry from Naples (80 min) and this is the only way for me to enjoy Positano without a car. Looking at the map and I thought it'd be a easy walk but it was a quite vertical HIKE from the ferry terminal. Make sure to use porter service (10 euro/bag) that hotel can arrange. It's NOT a good idea to carry your own luggage!! The stay was worth every steps we climbed. Very nice staff, clean room (tight), we enjoyed breakfast in the terrace brought to the room every morning. Hotel is away from the main crowds yet several amazing restaurants and shops are within walking distance. The only issue was when neighbor's dog was barking frequently while enjoying coffee and the view.

No privacy with adjoining rooms particularly in the balcony you could see each other all the time couple of feet away , view was lovely, breakfast was unappetising, very small portion, chose to cancel and ate elsewhere, would have been nice to have a drink in their terrace cafe as on their website overlooking bay but this was not open, very disappointing never told us why. Very clean. Unfortunately would not stay here again.

Easily accessed from the street, and the elevator takes you DOWN to the floors with the rooms. As a result, there are magnificent views and no noise from the street. There are great restaurants right outside the door.

Our stay at Palazzo Talamo was amazing. We got a room with ocean view and it was so worth it, the views are breathtaking. The staff was so nice and helpful and the breakfasts in the room were lovely too. We made the mistake to climb the stairs to get to the hotel as the map showed it was the shorter path, don’t do it, just follow the road until you reach the hotel, much easier! The area is beautiful too, far enough from the super busy street but close enough to reach in less than 5 min. I would definitely recommend this place to people who don’t have a huge budget but still would like to have views from their hotel room.

The view is amazing but that’s about it. You pay for the location in Positano but the room itself is fine, hotel had an odd smell, and breakfast was bad. They also have cameras everywhere and I let a friend in to fix her contact that had fallen out, and they called our room telling us she couldn’t be there. Stay here if no other options.

My son tested positive for COVID the day when we supposed to check into Palazzo. I informed the administrators that I couldn’t check in not only because he was contaminated, but specially because he was burning in fever. They didn’t care and charged me the whole price of my booking even though I’ve never step my foot into the property. One administrator of the hotel called me at about 11PM, the day when I supposed to check in, and that whole day I was trying to find out how to treat my son in a foreign country, where I don’t speak the language and pretty much nobody speaks English. My son has special needs and also has epilepsy. He had three seizures in a intervale of 6 hours. When the female administrator called me I couldn’t understand her strong accent trying to speak English. I didn’t even recognize where she was calling from. At the end of that night when my son finally was able to fall sleep, I sent her an email explaining why I would not be able to check in: not only because my son had COVID, and we didn’t want to contaminated anybody, but because my son was not physically able to go to the hotel. I sent her the COVID test result. The employee was rude and said that I’d be charged full price and that they don’t have a policy to cancel booking because of COVID. She said that she sent many emails to me. I NEVER received them!!! I was charged more than €700 for a product that I never used!

We have stayed at Talamo twice and love the location and view, convenience to walking around Positano, and friendly and helpful staff. The rooms have a small deck where we were able to sip a Spritz and watch boats come and go in the bay. Some of the rooms are quite small--recommend upgrade to the larger room. Rates are competitive for Positano.

Checked into our room fine but we’re appalled to see that one of our bath towels had blood stains on it (this happened once we had already used it). When we let the person at the front desk know about this she told us that this couldn’t be true and that the towels were changed. She did nothing to address the issue other than printing off a piece of paper that said that the towels were changed. Extremely uncomfortable situation after that with absolutely no ownership taken by the hotel staff about this incident.

The location was good but everything else was ordinary except the young guy at reception was the only one that was really helpful. Parking was a rip off … we weren’t notified that it was 60 euros per night, we thought it was for the whole time we were there. So parking cost us 300 euros for 5 nights. Older lady had major attitude. Very un-approachable. They charge 10 euros for beach towel hire per day which was a joke. You could have bought the same towel down the road for 12 euros. Overall, ordinary experience.

Oh my goodness, this was a wonderful stay. Probably our favourite stay anywhere in our life. Do not hesitate to book this place. It is spotless, the staff are so caring and considerate, the food is delicious and the view is almost too good to believe. Plus, you are so close to everything and right on the stairs to the beach. The view is incredible from this hotel. We were looking to stay in positano at a reasonable price and this hotel was perfect. Only thing to be aware of is you have to walk up quite a few flights of stairs unless you take the bus every time. But you can’t beat the view! It’s worth it!

We did not have this view on our veranda, which is why booked the room. It's a half wall, rather than a railing. So unless you're standard at the wall, you don't get the view...especially eating breakfast. Very disappointed about that. Also, the photos make the room look larger than it is.

This is an excellent hotel to stay at. We got a balcony room and it was totally worth the extra price. The breakfast every morning was served right on time and I love that it came to our room instead of us having to go somewhere for it. The room was so clean and the house keeping staff was excellent. When booking the room it said non smoking and the only negative was that the occupants of the room near us kept smoking. We had to close the doors to the terrace because the smoke kept coming in our room. That was the only negative thing about our time.

Nice continental breakfast was included. Breakfast was served in room daily due to COVID and was able to enjoy on a lovely patio overlooking the sea. Inquires and help with restaurant reservations or taxis were answered immediately. Staff was very helpful.

This hotel was in a great location where you can take the steps down to the port and to the main beach in under 10 minutes. The view from our balcony was a great way to start our morning, along with breakfast served to our room. The walls and ceilings were a little thin but all guests seemed respectful of each other in that shared situation and there were no problems. The room was modest with enough room to move around, which included a desk area, wardrobe with safe, and a mini fridge. The bathroom was separate but with plenty of space. Shower was large and water pressure was sufficient.

Our stay at Positano was fantastic because of our time at the the palazzo talamo. The family run business made sure our stay was exceptional. The cleanliness, service and breakfast was fantastic. To top it off the views from each of the rooms was great. We stayed in room 7 and the view was breathtaking. The whole family was lovely and also the lady in the breakfast service area. The location was about 15 minute walk into the centre of Positano but all along the way there are amazing views, shops and restaurants so it is fantastic. And if you don’t want to go into town you can have dinner at one of the many restaurants within a three minute walk of the hotel or pick up a bite at the local deli a few doors down and have dinner on your balcony. This would definitely be the hotel I return to when next I come to Positano.

Loved our stay in palazzo talamo. Super clean rooms, AMAZING views, cute little balcony and handy location. Like anywhere in positano there are quite a few steps to and from the beach/town centre but super handy that you can get dropped by car right to the door with bags etc. (You do see quite a few people lugging bags up/down steps).

We were really pleased of our stay in Positano at Palazzo Talamo. 5 star vacation in a boutique villa hotel with stunning views of the sea. Nicely decorated rooms with beautiful majolica tiles in the bathrooms. The family is doing a good job maintaining the hotel with the lovely breakfast offered by the family mother. They are very kind and want to make sure everybody enjoys the stay. Don't miss to have a drink on the small bar in the terrace overlooking positano. Central located next to not so pricey restaurants nearby. Close walk to the beach.
