Great neighborhood restaurants

Cool vibe throughout. Neighborhood was about 20-30 minute walk from the Vieux Porte and major tourist attractions. Neighborhood had some great local restaurants. Breakfast was very good.

Comfortable rooms with access to the great hotel restaurant at all hours. Best meal we had in Marseille was a dinner at the hotel. Fantastic breakfast buffet. Fun and vibrant decor. Short walk to Old Port and most of Marseille. Staff very friendly and able to help us in English. We highly recommend Mama Shelter!

We stayed in Mama's in Paris during our trip as well and unfortunately one will compare. Mama's in Paris is located in an amazing area, beautiful patio with a great restaurant and wonderful menu. The menu in Marseille was limited but the food was great.

Reasonable price

The room wasn't very clean with some hair in the basin and on bed duvet. Breakfast brioche was dry.
However the location was nice, and the staffs were friendly.
I believe it's still nice overall for the price.

Weekend a Marseille pour visiter et voir un match, nous avons adoré séjourner au Mama. Le staff est au top, le petit dej est toujours canon.
5 min a pied du metro, quartier calme.
On vous conseille une boulangerie en haut de la rue qui s'appelle House of Pain, un regal!
On retournera au Mama a Marseille pour un prochain match!

Super comfortable bed, easy check-in and near a great local street for food/drinks. It was about 20/25 minutes walk away from the Old Port. Read some reviews about the location feeling a bit unsafe at night but even though the road with the hotel can be quiet it’s brightly lit and we felt fine.

Cool in Marseille

Mama Shelter doesn't disappoint, ample rooms, comfy beds, and great atmosphere that you will find in all their Hotels. Do be aware that the hotel is not located in the center of town, the neighborhood is more artsy and hipster and may be regarded as rough at night by many.
The breakfast option is worthwhile, buffet style, complete and good quality food.

Nice hotel the outside is quite random but inside it’s well done and rooms are well isolated from the outside noise but there is a real problems with plugs that only work with the switch at the entrance of the room the n
I tried to discuss that matter with the reception and I was told that it’s for saving energy and environmental issue
Even though it’s a good agrément in general in that case it’s not appropriate and the plug near the bed should not be linked to the general switch that also leaves the light of the dressing and the entrance on
Regarding the cleanliness the bathroom was clean but the floor was full of dust and other small things so it could have been washed properly and it remained the same for the duration of our stay
Breakfast is good if not a bit expensive during the weekend

So far I would recommend this hotel and maybe other rooms are even better

I always stay at the Mama Shelter Marseille for my business trip in Marseille. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. But the best thing is the bar for after works cocktails with DJ. And don't forget to let you enough time to enjoy the most fabulous breakfast you ever seen.

A true shelter in Marseille

Mamma Shelter's service is fantastic. The concierge went above and beyond to find a dinner spot for me on a night when a lot of restaurants were fully booked.They also have a parking garage which was a relief after navigating Marseille. Highly recommend.

Very trendy hotel; staff super friendly and helpful.

We stayed in a Medium-sized room and found it rather crowded. We stayed here twice, and the first time we found the streets around the hotel to be very dirty (lots of dog poo on the sidewalks). When we returned the second time, it was better.

The wifi did not work well and we could not get any movies to load for viewing.

Quirky but chic hotel

We found it an enjoyable and stimulating place to stay. The restaurant was very good, and clearly favoured by chic youngsters (we are not chic or young but were nevertheless made to feel welcome). There is an erotic theme in some of the decor etc. and we found this entertaining but some people might be concerned about bringing young children. The only negative point is that we found the duvet very hot and so had to keep the room cold through the night in order to sleep comfortably.

The place to stay in Marseille

I loved my stay here. Very trendy hotel with minimalistic yet comfortable and stylish rooms. The bed is very comfy and the shower is lovely. I also loved the quirky touch with the masks on the wall and the Apple TV. The restaurant is fabulous too, quite expensive food but great service and the breakfast is divine! I wish I could have stayed here for longer!

Fun and Kinky Hotel

We had a great stay. It was a fresh and fun experience. Very unique room, with a lot of quirky add ons. Everything about this hotel screams hipster, but in the best way. The bar was very fun as well, with great staff.

Cool hotel, with welcoming staff. We had a problem with toilet flushing, however it was dealt with very quickly and successfully.

The mac computer/TV system was brilliant in the room and the bed was very big and comfortable.

Mama Shelter is a super chic hotel, every and I mean every detail is considered...a feast for the eyes!

The Staff there could not have been more of a delight to see each day.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were excellent (we had problems checking in due to no fault of the staff but they helped sort it all out for us and were fast, friendly and helpful). The room was really nice, the hotel restaurant I cannot recommend highly enough (try the ceviche- AMAZING!).

Straordinario hotel!
Bellissimo il design della camera: letto al centro della stanza con la testiera del letto luminosa regolabile, televisore connesso alle piattaforme streaming, bagno con doccia immensa, perfino una mini cucina all'ingresso (con acquaio, frigo, forno microonde e bollitore)!
Nella hall il personale è gentilissimo e c'è anche a disposizione un dispenser con acqua aromatizzata per riempire la propria borraccia prima di uscire o da bere appena rientrati.
La posizione è un po' decentrata rispetto al porto vecchio, la stazione metro più vicina dista più di 10 minuti a piedi ma tutto sommato le qualità superano questi piccoli difetti. Ma sopra a tutto, però, è la colazione la cosa più straordinaria: IMPERDIBILE!
Lo Chef presente nella cucina a vista ti prepara le omelette come vuoi, il pane è fresco dal loro forno, come anche le crêpe e la straordinaria torta Pudding. C'è una sezione incredibile di formaggi, frutta fresca, insalata e il tè lo prepari in foglia con la teiera tipo Samovar.
Ma per la prima volta in vita mia ho trovato in un hotel l'estrattore per preparami una centrifuga fresca con frutta e verdura!!!

Een klein probleem betrof de t.v. deze raakte steeds disconnected. Maar het personeel was geduldig en behulpzaam om het probleem op te lossen.

Nuitee remplacée sur autre hotel last minute !

Hotel choisi car proche lieu conference et pour le parking mais apres achat j'apprends l'impossibilité de reserver une place (?)
Nuit annulée last minute par Mama Shelter remplacée certes sur autre hotel mais plus éloigné du lieu de conférence, donc je ne recommande pas car la fiabilité est un élément important surtout pour un sejour professionnel.

C'est une chaine que nous appercions beaucoup.
Petit bemol sur cette nuit, trop chaud en chambre même avec le chauffage arrêté et eau tiède ce matin pour la douche.
La réception nous a fait un geste commercial pour le dérangement.

Personnel excellent, aimable et gentil. Petit dej au top, ambiance festive en week-end le soir (parfois même un peu de bruit s’échappe jusqu’aux chambres) peut être des gens qui font partie de la fête et séjournent dans le même hôtel. Hôtel hyper charmant ! Une expérience unique à vivre absolument à Marseille.
A 5 minutes à pied du rond point de la Castelane. L’hôtel, qui est niché au cœur du 6ème ARR, possède un bar et un jardin d’hiver unique. Toute l’équipe est sympathique, bienveillante et chaleureuse.
On aime se retrouver dans ce cocon après avoir passé la journée à la plage, en mer, dans la ville ou après un match de l’OM ou après un concert !
Moi qui ai fait un cetrain nombre d’hôtels à Marseille, j’en ai fait mon pied à terre favori.

Hôtel hyper chaleureux. On se sent comme dans un écrin de joie au cœur de Marseille. Je conseil de petit-déjeuner sous la verrière. La literie est très confortable.
Je recommande cet hôtel qui est atypique et qui mérite vraiment d’être visité une fois si vous séjournez à Marseille.

Hôtel avec parking ( non reservable ). Style maman Shelter toujours sympa .qqles incohérences dans la chambre : une bouilloire mise tout en haut d'un micro onde , inatteignable sans tabouret ( mais il n'y en a pas ). Et de l'eau chaude pour quoi faire? car Pas de thé , tisane etc dans la chambre.

-la reservation via hotel.com n'a à priori pas fonctionnée (nous avions la confirmation, l hotel n'avait à priori rien......heureusement qu il restait de la place)

-aucun espace exterieur pour petit dej par ex. Patio decoratif sans acces possible.

-le site de l'hotel annonce des soirées qui sont privées et organisées par un tier qui book le restaurant.....

Ok pour boire un verre mais pas plus …

Les chambres ne sont malheureusement pas du tout à l’image du reste de l’hôtel, très décevant par rapport au prix de la nuit ! Chambre plus que standard et très mal isolée ! Il y fait froid et on entend la fête dehors au pied de l’hôtel toute la nuit. De manière générale, je n’y retournerai pas pour dormir mais juste pour y boire un verre car effectivement l’établissement est très beau.
