We had an excellent experience at this hotel. The staff was friendly, helpful and professional. The property is centrally located and just in front of the port. Our room was fairly spacious, immaculate and with a really nice decor. Also, it offered a beautiful view of the port.

Breakfast was just superb with a combination of savoury and sweet options, including French bread, cheeses and local biscuits. We’d definitely come back! Thanks!

The location was perfect, with great views of the port, and thousands of dining options nearby. The staff were helpful and courteous. However, the hotel itself is in poor condition, and is in desperate need of a renovation. In particular, the carpets are in awful shape.

Hotel is in a great location, right in the middle of the harbor area. The hotel is very nice but the rooms are very small, probably because the hotel was built in 1816! The staff were very helpful with all questions.

Marvellous Marseilles stay

Extremely well placed to explore the heart of Marseilles with a short stroll to the impressive old port. We had a comfortable stay with friendly and professional staff to advise us. Lots to do in the city as the tourist information was nearby which allowed us to visit the Cathedral, Museum and boat trip to the Calanques not to mention the numerous bars and restaurants on our doorstep. It was our first time in Marseilles but it won't be our last. We would be more than happy to return to the Grand Hotel Beauvau!

The Grand Hotel Beauvau was very nice hotel to stay during my two days in Marseille. It was very convenient so I didn't have to worry about spending time getting to places of interest during my short visit. The hotel is two stops away on the M1 Metro line from Gare Saint-Charles, and one block away from The wateefront at Vieux Port and all of the dining options aling the marina.

Le Panier is close as well. It is easy to walk to several sites such as Cathedral La Major, Abbaye Saint Victor, and the Mucem.

My hotel room was very spacious, clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly and considerate.

Great central location and spectacular view from room 701. It was a suite with a panoramic view of the harbor with an additional balcony off the bedroom with a view of the city. Very spacious, worth the money. Large bathroom with separate bathtub and shower.

What a fabulous boutique hotel, the suite was stunning, spacious, comfortable and beautiful. The two balconies were a plus! Staff was more than helpful and breakfast was spectacular, more than we could eat! Thanks to all the front desk staff for making our stay comfortable and although it was for one nighy, it was definitely pleasant! Merci.

Reception staff excellent, bar staff may need more training (unsure of some basic cocktails). Basin hand soap dispenser empty & not replaced for complete stay (4 days). Would recommend overall.

It wasn’t the property’s fault that the streets outside were blocked off and urine soaked.

While our suite had an AMAZING view out of both sides, the curtains smelled really bad, especially in the bedroom. They need a good laundering.

Went to the bar for ice and the bartender was a jerk.

Breakfast was really good but like most things in Marseilles WAY over priced.

We were in Marseilles for a day, on the way to Paris and to finish our French Riviera trip. Marseilles was our least favorite city on this tour. We knew the area would be crowded and busy, and had low expectations. With that said, the hotel is well situated and convenient with a nice view of the port. The fridge had free drinks. However, the property is very dated. I do not feel that anyone cleaned our room as the bathtub had some concerning \"stains\" on it. The soap on the sink appeared to be already used. The property seemed under-staffed. In fact, when we checked in, our taxi driver loaded up all the luggage on the bell cart and the front desk did not help at all in this. Overall, for the price that I paid which is rather high, this was certainly not worth it at all.

I loved this hotel! The staff was so warm, friendly and helpful. Location is beyond perfect! My room was a bit dark, but nothing you can do about that; the location was not sunny and I looked down on dingy and dark objects. But overall, I loved my stay! It is perfect location for my first time in Marseille and to meet the needs of what I had to do for my job.

The design of the bathroom was fabulous, but there wasn't quite enough thought as to where to put the soap dispensers: they were are shower height, but if you decided to take a bath there was no way you could reach them!
The bar and breakfast areas were lovely and the service was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful get-away!

One negative thing I can say, is that our toilet flash button was broken so it at times continued to flush and we had to play around with it to stop.

Our stay was first-rate all around. Situated right in the heart of the older part of the city, it offered easy access to all of the local sights. Staff was helpful with fabulous restaurant recommendations and reservations. When we encountered a travel glitch (flight cancellation) right before our planned departure, staff was accommodating. Fabulous overall!

No reason i should payfor a suite that has the carpet of a poorly maintained fraternity house. Honestly the carpet looked like it had been soaked in beer and not just once.
Concierge recommended a restaurant for seafood that was the worst dining experience of my life and at 72 there have been many.
All sad but true...

The Grand Hotel Beauvau at Vieux-Port is fabulous! We could not be happier with the friendly and professional service we experienced with all staff members, the beautiful accommodations, the fantastic breakfast, and the view! Yes, the view! We requested a room with a view of the port, and it turns out this 200+ year old, well maintained hotel is in the center of everything. We were in close proximity to countless amazing outdoor cafes, beautiful historic sights, and lots of activity (musicians, acrobats, easy access to transportation). We remember most fondly an excellent bartender in the hotel bar, the amazing view from our room, how quiet our room was when we closed our windows to shut out the activity from the port, and the wonderful spread of local products for breakfast.

Should not call itself \"grand\"...

The view is frankly the hotel's unique selling point. You are front and centre in the old port.

However this is not a \"grand\" hotel. The front has been sold to burger king and a bar. You enter the hotel via the rear in a one way alley to a miniscule reception.

There is no restaurant and an extremely limited food room service, there was however 8 pages of drinks on the menu...

Do not use the car park (CDG) behind the hotel it is a pain to get to. The hotel staff recommended three other car parks.

What killed our stay however is somehow someone who wasn't us requested a 0600h wake-up call to our room. This should NEVER happen. As if the hotel believed a stranger that they were the rooms occupants they could have just requested a replacement room key.

Overall a nice stay, but unless you NEED a sunset picture of the port, the intercontinental is bigger, newer, has onsite parking and better facilities.

Why the Grand Hotel Marseilles is a Must stay !

For our very brief two night stay this hotel was perfectly located overlooking the heart of the beautiful scenic bay. With so much to choose from to have an outstanding stay with immediate access to multi-fine restaurants, trolly tours and sea excursions.

The hotel and entire staff exceeded our best expectations and made a return trip to Southern France a new priority.
